good lord, Sutekh has always had the most impossibly silky-smooth voice 😳💖 it is amazing that Gabriel Woolf is reprising the role in his 90s!!!

Okay, so Carla calling Sutekh the Beast before he'd even fully manifested - and Colonel Chidozie saying he was in hell - already had me thinking about The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit, but I just looked up the voice actor for Sutekh. Sutekh is voiced by Gabriel Woolf, who played Sutekh in the 70s as well.

Another role Gabriel Woolf has had in the Whoniverse was in 2006, as the Beast in The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit. I'm not saying they're the same being, but… what if they were the same being?

Today in Poet Fic, Carlos has an accidentally emotional moment with his dad:

Gabriel looks at the ceiling with despair. “Ay, you’ve had so much time.”

“What if TK leaves me?” Carlos snaps, and suddenly tears are prickling his eyes, hot and terrible. “I keep thinking he’ll leave me.”

“Mijo,” Gabriel says, though not particularly tenderly, “Don’t you think there’s more and more chance of TK leaving you the longer you keep the truth from him? At this rate you’ll be telling him when you say your vows.”

Father and son look at each other, both holding a stern gaze for five seconds before cracking into laughter.

A tear slips down Carlos’ cheek. Surprised and mortified, he’s quick to catch it.

“Hey.” Gabriel nudges Carlos’ foot with his own. “Don’t cry.”

“I’m not,” Carlos sniffs, “It’s just TK, you know?”
