Inspired by Cindy Lauper's song "Girls just want to have fun"

It’s a damn good night. You feel good, and maybe you’re a little tipsy.

After months of being cramped in sleazy motel rooms with the Winchesters and fighting battle after battle, you finally got the chance to have a night out. It’s ladies’ night with karaoke and free drinks at the bar in town.

“Yes! Show them what you got!” you cheer your friends on, raising your glass. Jo, Charlie, and Bela are on the stag singing we will rock you. You’re not much of a singer, but you like to watch your friends having fun.

“They had too much wine,” Donna laughs because Charlie wants to try out stage diving. “There are like three people. They cannot catch her fall.”

“Nah, she’s like a cat and lands on her paws!” You exclaim loudly. “Believe me, she got this. A girl who fuck’s Dick Roman and Leviathans over can rock a stage dive too.”

“She will get hurt,” Jody worriedly watches Charlie stagger on the stage. “I can’t even look.”

“Wait! I got an idea,” you get your phone out to call Sam and Dean. “Guys, we have an emergency. You need to come to the bar. We need your help.”

You end the call before Dean can ask what happened, or if he needs to bring the big guns. While you order another drink and tell Charlie to wait for her stage dive a little longer, Sam and Dean run toward the garage at the bunker.

“What the…?” Dean watches Jo, Charlie, and Bela sing another song. Charlie waves at Dean while Bela blows a kiss at Sam. “Sammy, what has gotten into them? Do you think it’s a wrath? A ghost maybe?”

“Uh-Dean. I don’t think this is the supernatural kind of emergency,” Sam smirks at Bela who undresses him with her eyes. “I think they are having fun, is all.”

“What? Fun!” Alerted Dean storms toward you to snatch the drink you just ordered out of your hands. “Y/N, I hope you’ve got a damn good explanation why you called me. This doesn't look like an emergency.”

“It is!” you grab his arm to guide Dean toward the stage. “You see.” You point at Charlie on the stage. She giggles and walks toward the edge. “Charlie wants to try her first stage dive. We need strong men to catch her.”

“Stage dive – what?” Dean blinks a few times. “You’ve got to be shitting me! No more drinks for you.”

“Aw, but Deano,” you pat his chest with both hands. “Girls just want to have fun sometimes.” You lean closer to nuzzle his chin with your nose. “Please for me. Catch Charlie.”

Dean purses his lips. “This is far too dangerous! She could get hurt!”

“You sound like a dad,” you grin. “Deano, come on. Live a little.”

“What’s going on?” Sam finally joins your little conversation. “Where is the emergency, Y/N?”

“Charlie wants to stage dive. Y/N came up with the brilliant idea that we can catch Charlie,” Dean huffs. “She called us for a stage dive, Sammy.”

“Hmmm…” Sam looks at the stage, at the ground, and then at his hands. “If we team up, we can do it, Dean.”

Dean turns his head like in slow motion, to gape at his brother. “Did you hit your head, Sammy? What if she misses us and ends up on the ground? Charlie could get seriously hurt.”

“Deano, please,” you fist his Henley, tugging hard. In a hurry, he didn’t put on a plaid or a jacket. “I’ll make you pie tomorrow.”

“You’re going to be hangover tomorrow,” he points out. “If she gets hurt, you’ll take the blame.”

Dean walks toward the stage to talk to Charlie. He’s still not convinced this will work, but he’ll do it for Charlie and you.

“We can help,” Sam says. He walks toward the stage, followed by Castiel, Jack, and Gabriel who popped up Out of nowhere.

“Don’t tell me she called you too…” Dean sighs deeply. “Fine, let’s do this…”

And then, you all joined Dean to give Charlie the chance to have her first stage dive.

Sometimes girls just want to have fun.

From chapter 3 of Rhythms, posting on Sunday - a moment between the grumpiest father and son in town:

Carlos is wearing jeans, sneakers, a gray henley. Handsome and casual. When Gabriel sees him, he feels like he might as well be wearing a baseball cap with a propeller on top while he licks a swirly lollipop.

Gabriel abandons his pals mid-conversation and marches over.

“Dad, please don’t start,” Carlos says, holding his hands out in surrender.

Gabriel’s eyes widen. “Don’t start? Oh son, I haven’t even begun.”

“That doesn’t actually make sense.” Carlos' face scrunches as he tries to think. "Or does it?"

“Yes. Shut up.” Gabriel pulls Carlos by the elbow over to the bar. Before Carlos can put in his order, Gabriel says to the barman, “My son will have a Coke. Ice and lemon.”

“I was going to get a club soda,” Carlos says quietly.

“You always have a Coke when you’re not drinking.”

“No. I don’t.”

“No?”

“Not since I was, like, nineteen.”

“You moved onto club soda when you were nineteen?” Gabriel shrugs. “Sorry, Mr. Sophisticated.” He turns to the barman again. “And a club soda, thanks, Pete.”

The barman delivers the Coke and club soda. Gabriel immediately takes the Coke for himself and hands the club soda to Carlos without a word.

Carlos is so stunned by the gesture he can’t even say thank you. Gabriel doesn’t tend to drink Coke either. 

Like a lamb, Carlos follows Gabriel to a small table in the corner, far from anybody. They sip their drinks, the jolly electronic tune of the slot machines filling the void between them.

“I’m waiting,” Gabriel says after a moment.

“For what?”

“For you to explain.”

Ok, let’s try this again. I already typed this up and then the app crashed and it SAID it went to drafts…

Anyway. I’m attempting a rewrite. I don’t know how faithful I will be to this story, but it’s an idea I had years ago and executed poorly. I’m here to try again. This time on Tumblr rather than Wattpad.

The original love interest was Gabriel, but that is subject to change. The original title gave too much away, so that is something I’ll have to work on as well. (Title has been changed <3)

So, all that being said, please enjoy.

Three girls laughed in front of me. We were all huddled up on my living room floor, having a long awaited sleepover. It had been so hard to meet up now that we had graduated and started our adult lives.

We had done all the classics; truth or dare, light as a feather, stiff as a board, bloody Mary…

Now, we were winding down for the night by talking about our celebrity crushes. Abigail leaned in across our little circle and narrowed her eyes at me.

“So, are you a Sam girl or a Dean girl?”

The girls ‘oooh’d at the question and watched me with anticipation. I laughed and shook my head.

“Neither—“ before I could give my reasoning, the girls were interrupting with exclamations of indignation.

“How could you—?”

“What does that even—?!”

“BUT DEAN~!”

I laugh at them again, slapping a hand down on my thigh as I catch my breath.

“Well, Sam just isn’t my type, like at all! Dean…” I take a deep breath and look behind my friends as my eyes unfocus and I picture his face. I rub the back of my neck and shake my head, “he reminds me of my cousin. It’s too weird.”

I look from eye to eye at each of my friends and give a crooked smile, knowing what was coming.

Gabby twirled a piece of hair around her finger, “so, uh, where is this mysterious cousin you’ve been hiding from us, Henley?” She teasingly called me by my last name and I rolled my eyes, recognizing the accusation in her voice.

“Forget it, Kelly. I don’t even know where he is,” I call her by her maiden name as well before confessing, “he and my dad got into some big fight. He won’t tell me what it was about, but Jesse has been in the wind since then. Haven’t heard a word…”

The girls’ shoulders sag and I excuse myself to the kitchen. I feel my expression drop once I’m alone and I take time to clear my thoughts. Truth be told, I thought about Jesse a lot. We used to be so close. He was only a couple years older than me—

I shake my head and run a hand through my hair. I was so naive.

Taking a deep breath, I plaster a smile on my face again and grab some bags of chips before heading back out to the living room.

The next morning, we all say our goodbyes and I hug the girls as they leave. Once my door is shut, I give a sigh of relief and lean against it. Peace, at last.

I walk over to my couch and fall back onto it with another loud sigh. I love my friends, but hosting really takes a lot out of me. I grab for the remote and turn on the tv. Wrapping myself in a fluffy blanket, i decide to catch a few more z’s since the girls were early birds for whatever reason.

“Gwen.”

I jolt awake, sitting up on my couch… only it isn’t my couch? Looking around the room, my breathing picks up. Nothing here is familiar. I look down at my blanket, but it’s completely different. My face contorts in confusion as I stand and look around the place.

Am I… in a motel?

Okie, that’s all for right now. I know, I know, where’s Sam and Dean? It might be another chapter or two until we get to them. Maybe chapter three will be from their point of view? I’ve got some groundwork to do first, though.

It had been a while, but with the nightmares stopping (for now), Gabriel and him had decided to indulge in a fun night out, complete with a hotel stay in the city. His treat, of course.

"Should I go formal with a button down shirt or wear the henley you got me?" the vampire asked, expecting an answer..or well, at least one more enthusiastic than what he got. As he undid the knot around his hips, Teddy turned around with a frown, and cast a surprised look in the male's direction, wiping his wet hair back. "..is something the matter, Moore? You haven't said a word since we returned from supper. Do you not want to go out?" It was a possibility. But why? Had he said something wrong, perhaps?

Exhaling at once at the absence of a clear answer, Byrne crossed the hardwood floors and grabbed Gabriel's chin, tilting his head up. "Come on, handsome. I know that look. Tell me."

His first time celebrating the Feast of the Assumption outside of Saint David's Monastery. One month before his 14th birthday.

Only thirteen and yet already one of the worst kinds of sinner imaginable.

He remembered all of those he had hurt, he really did. One of them was laying on the floor not too far away from him.

Back on that horrible day, he had hurt all the seven other boys at the monastery.

Laith. Andrew. Luke. Ethan. Issac. Austyn. Henley.

Greyston hadn't been the youngest, and he hadn't been the eldest either, but he certainly had been the most cowardly.

After consuming his dead friends' bodies in a devastating, crazed hunger, he had run away, for he would not be able to ever again look in his father's eyes and force upon him the painful truth that a monster like him was his only child.

All those that chose to shelter him after he ended up on the streets were unjustly plagued with the curse he now carried. He could never fully trace the reason for why his murderous hunger seemed to come and go in uneven intervals, but one thing he did remember was that he was always afraid before his hunger took over.

He was unable to understand his condition, and God was unwilling to provide answers. Greyston likely deserved the divine silence anyway.

The sound of flies infesting the dead man's body increased, and the boy finally gathered enough courage to look in that direction.

Reverend Nathan Smith had been the most recent victim of his animalistic hunger.

Greyston remembered all of his charitable and kind hosts by name as well.

Maria Graham had been a farmer and young widow. She took him in like the son she never had, and cared for him for three months before his hunger took her from this world far too soon.

Gabriel and Elizabeth Davies had been a happily married and very devout parents of three children, who looked after him for only two weeks before he attacked them on their way to church, leaving their poor children orphaned.

He had wandered around for days on the cities streets afterwards, trying to survive the harsh winter as proof of his penitence, until a generous lamplighter of name Tobias Green found him and took him somewhere safe.

Tobias reminded Greyston a lot of his own father Noah, and he had even started making plans about taking the boy in permanently. He stayed with Toby the longest, five months in total, before a sudden panic he could not remember the cause of exploded into an enormous void in his stomach, making him devour the man he had come to see as a second father, along with one of his similarly innocent friends.

After days of senseless walking, he had taken shelter from a sudden summer storm inside a church dedicated to Saint John, where Reverend Nathan had found him and given him far more appropriate shelter inside his own vicarage.

He had already killed and eaten so many innocent people, and now he had killed a holy man of the faith, surely The Virgin and The Lord were looking down at him in disgust and disappointment, just like his father probably would have too.

Bile rose up in his throat, and before he knew it he was vomiting parts of flesh he had eaten from the vicar's dying body. Once the townspeople went inside the vicarage to uncover why their reverend had not showed up to the Assumption service, not only would they find his mutilated body, but also the disgusting mess coming out of Greyston's mouth.

Our merciful Lord, please forgive me, for I did not wish for this.

Harvestfest 🌲🍁🥧

(3rd Person POV)

Harvestfest is here again, with hordes of people descending on Newcrest (and like 5 in Brindelton bay) for a weekend of extreme family time. This post will be on the 'non heir' families that spawned from gen 2, so basically everyone from Danielle down to Harley. Thanks to my new and improved character pages, you should be able to figure out who they are and what their stories are that have led them to this point. I'll be posting them in reverse order so we'll start at the bottom and work our way to the top, so the 'heir + heir-ish' families (Allan, Branden, and Claire's) will have their own posts.

These are the Collins and Barnard Families. They had initially planned to travel to a cabin in the woods for a scenic harvestfest weekend, but conflicting work schedules meant that they put that plan on the backburner. They gathered at Fletcher and Cara's house for their grand meal, before heading to church for the evening service.

[F] Life has found a steady rhythm for Fletcher, Cara, and James Lee, Fletcher continues to work for the Newcrest Police Department, Cara continues her work as a Head of Fundraising and Marketing for the Newcrest Conservative Party. Their son James Lee goes to a top ranking private christian high school in the district, and is enjoying spending his time at after school activities and volunteering at various church ministries.

[G] Grayson continues his work as a doctor at Newcrest General Hospital, looking after patients as well as travelling round to speak and/or attend different conferences. He also speaks at various events, usually for various pro-life organisations and at political events. His wife Keira currently works part time at Newcrest General as a nurse whilst she finishes homeschooling their youngest son Archie, who goes to a co-op. When Archie goes to high school then Keira shall resume working full time at the hospital. Matthew attends the same high school as his cousin James Lee, and the two are thick as thieves, with James Lee feeling like a brother more than a cousin.

[H] Harley and her husband Gabriel continue to live and work in San Myshuno, Gabriel continues teaching at San Myshuno Culinary Academy and Harley still works as Editor in Chief for Myshuno Madness Magazine. The couple vacation regularly to see their family as well as to visit different parts of the country and the world. They enjoy spending time with their many siblings, nieces, and nephews at various times of the year.

Life continues on for the Godwin household, Amelia is now a teenager and is working her way through high school at her homeschool co-op. Ava Grace is almost done with highschool and is exploring her options for further education, she also plays on the volleyball team of the christian school that Kyra teaches at. Ruby Rae is a year into nursing school, she commutes to university so that she can save money. She hasn't decided what kind of nurse she wants to be yet, but she's firm in her desire to help people, her aunt Kiera has been helpful in the process of applying and attending nursing school. Rory is also in university

Kyra and her husband Tyler are enjoying married life, they both live and work close to both their families so they both often enough. They're working towards buying a house before expanding their family, right now they're just enjoying being married which they're very thankful for.

The Hunt households are thankful for time together, with James and Emma in Henley-on-Bagley as missionaries they don't get to be together as often. Gabriella is in high school, homeschooled by Danielle, and has not begun thinking about what she wants to do next. She often helps out at her dad's vet clinic, so she considering veterinary nursing as one of her options but she's in no rush. James and Emma moved on Henley-on-Bagley to be missionaries to help grow a church there and they are enjoying their time. They spend their days sharing the Gospel to those who live in town and in the wider area, as well as assisting at church services when needed. They've not had children yet, but are open to any that the Lord will send them. Danielle continues to homeschool Gabriella, and when she's not homeschooling her then she's working on baked goods to sell at various farmers markets or working at the bakery. Sebastian continues to run his veterinary clinic, and he's recently partnered with a veterinary school and will now be training those who make it to their clinical rotations.
