Star Trek TOS S1 Ep02 - Charlie X
this episode starts and I'm already confused but delighted because Kirk is wearing the V neck green shirt FOR SOME UNEXPLAINED (so far) reason and they quickly show us how Charlie is to not be trusted but quickly give us that sprinkle of "he's just a boy regardless, he's amazed and curious" which, okay
THEN. NOT EVEN 10 MINUTES IN. they show me McCoy and Spock bickering on the bridge while McCoy is sitting on/against the controls panel and ?!?!?? and Jim tries to step in but then they start again and these three are a riot i adore them and when Kirk tells Bones to take care of Charlie regardless Spock has such a smug face omg WHERE did all the stereotypes i've heard during my life come from this alien is quite expressive actually and im here for it
adding to that, we have the funky moment of Spock playing a lyre (WHICH I DIDN'T KNOW HE DID) and Uhura singing and he looks AHFJSHFHSHF like a mix or offended and amused due the lyrics (it's about him and he knows it). he has a face of "i play for you to sing and yet you sing about me. idk if be offended or what" but like, fondly
AFTER WE SEE JIM KIRK BEING AN ABSOLUTE CHAOS OF A FATHER FIGURE BY GIVING SUCH A BAD EXPLANATION TO CHARLIE AS TO WHY HE SHOULDN'T SLAP GIRLS ON THEIR ASS AND it was hilarious honestly
then we keep seeing glances at how unstable and dangerous Charlie actually is AND the first time we see/learn about Kirk and Spock playing chess together and i gotta admit i was worried for the Vulcan for a moment there. then the odd yet understandable due plot and everything else speech about Charlie wanting Yeoman Janice and then we see a very nice talk where she requests Kirk speaks with him to leave her alone. idk that exchange and Kirk being soft and being like "okay I'll talk to him" was, nice
AND THEN we have him trying to guide this very lost boy and while what Kirk said makes sense to me it was still very confusing in the delivery but oh well
THEN WE HAVE HIM SHIRTLESS???? JUST BECAUSE, while trying to teach Charlie something. first Jim "tiddies out" Kirk witnessing. sad about that Sam tho :(
then we see more chaos and Kirk, Spock and McCoy being the three braincells they are and i love them and apparently McCoy has a thing for sitting on tables and honestly good for him because same. Uhura gets hurt, and then Spock is being made to talk in silly rhymes and there's something about Kirk being protective of his crew that will never tire me out
then we have Charlie at the Yeoman's room and Spock getting his legs broken??? and the Yeoman disappearing?????? and Kirk being very adamant about needing Spock ("You need me to run the ship and I need him")
then we see more of the chaos Charlie does and how he keeps getting away from Kirk's and Spock's ideas and then the idea of overload the kid and then we get a floating green head who apparently is from the beings who gave Charlie his powers? and his reason to run away is understandable and just like the Captain i did feel a little bad about him at the end and probably the wise course of action would have been to just take his powers away but idk how that works anyways - probably just plot device
and this episode ends in a very weird feeling and state before the cheery tune of the credits comes in :D

Some Poison Pie
Rating: Explicit
Word Count: 512
Warnings and Tags: Major character injury, major character death, pie, hallucinations, poison, poor Dean, choking, open ending, whump, background Sabriel because I can't help myself, quick writings
Summary: Written for the @spnfanficpond’s monthly prompt: Pie.
Author Note: Sigh. I can't write nice things right now, poor Dean.
Some Poison Pie
“Sam?” Dean yelled, standing from the fridge and staring at a pie box on the counter. “This yours?”
When no reply came, Dean raised his brows, flicking the box open, wondering when Sam had gotten back and why he hadn't told him about the pie. Dean hadn't remembered anyone bringing it home, but it wasn't uncommon for someone to leave pie for him. He should have probably been more suspicious of it.
Dean sniffed at it before deciding not to question it, there were only a few slices left and if Sam had brought the imp of an archangel back with him, the older hunter knew there wouldn't be any left by the time he asked. He loaded up his plate and found a fork along with some whipped cream before taking the plate to his Dean Cave, intending to enjoy the slice properly.
He let out a groan of comfort when he sat back in his chair and found an episode of Star Trek to watch. Even after the first few bites nothing seemed amiss with it, it was good -sweet syrupy strawberry with flaky crust, it tasted homemade.
As the episode continued, Dean scraped his fork through the last bit of crumbs and syrup, and his eyes narrowed at how dark it seemed to be within the Bunker. His eyes rolled to lights above him, watching them blink and flicker. He swallowed but found that his throat had closed, a lump lodged in his throat.
Something was wrong.
Dean felt his heart beat faster, looking to the hallway at the sound of footsteps. The familiar feeling of adrenaline rushed through Dean's veins at the sound of someone else in the Bunker. His hands clenched as he sat forward, empty plate forgotten and sliding from his lap. The clatter of the breaking plate and fallen fork called his attention away from the odd yet familiar noise echoing around his mind and the bunker.
“Sam?”
His voice was hoarse, gagged against the lump that had grown wider still within his throat. Pain, like a knife carving out his intestines, twisted in his stomach, the sound getting louder while a groan left his lips. His hand went to his stomach, clawing into his shirt, as he tried to keep his eyes on the doorway, the sound getting closer. Sweat clung to his skin while pain paled his brow, trying to sit up more and only managing to fall forward onto the floor.
A cough rasped from him as his throat closed and slicked with bile, lips foaming as he gagged. Dean's body curled, numb fingertips stumbling for his phone. His ears strained, body collapsing and curled into his chair, the familiar sound haunting his mind as a dial tone rang distantly. Dean tried to keep his eyes from closing against the pain that seized his body but couldn't fight it as it overtook him and forced his eyes closed.
“Dean? Hey, we're coming home, thing skipped out on us. Don't eat anything, Gabe thinks it's gonna get angry and mess with us, and it really likes putting its venom in food. Dean, can you hear me? Dean!”

A long time ago @nebulouscoffee asked me to write the DVD commentary of “Best Left” (which is a Raffi/Seven/B'Elanna fic set between Picard S1 and 2) and now I'm finally doing that.
This is inevitably going to get long because the fic itself is much longer than anything else I've ever posted, and I still have so many feelings for a story I put a lot of effort and heart into! But first things first, here's chapter one.
Cris, I know you’re really busy these days on the Stargazer, so I’ll keep this short.
As I was coming up with ideas for “Best Left”, my main goal was to have Raffi (which I knew would be the POV character) in a very different place than where we see her first on Star Trek: Picard. I wanted her, by this point established, long-distance relationship with Seven be a part of the network in which Raffi is now deeply enmeshed (ie La Sirena's crew). That said though, both canon events (by this time Rios has been made captain) and my plot ideas were not very accommodating of having literally everyone on board the ship. It would've been too unwieldy for a project that was already shaping up to be very ambitious for my standards. But while Jurati and Picard's absence is, I think, not that big of a deal, I still very much wanted to underline Raffi and Cris' friendship, which I think is essential in order to understand Raffi and one of the few relationships she's had that didn't go sour on her. I obviated to his physical absence with both real and imaginary correspondence, from which Raffi could draw strength in difficult moments. The fic both begins and closes with Raffi writing a message to him.
Raffi hits send on the message and looks up only to find Elnor at her side, looking just as morose as he’d been a few days earlier, when she’d told him first about the road trip idea. She sighs internally; the queue to transporter hub number four advances. It’s a busy day on the new Betazed spacedock, but luckily no one among the crowd seems the wiser to a Romulan young adult carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. He holds the straps of his bag and his staff with a white-knuckle grip. Raffi hooks her left arm into the crook of Elnor’s right. “What’s the matter?”
Rereading this I remembered how fun it was to write Raffi and Elnor interact. My intention here (and throughout the fic) was to have Raffi obviously care for him while also not losing her somewhat world-weary attitude because of her affection. Raffi is still a woman who analyzes everything around her, and acts accordingly—not to mention all the unacknowledged guilt she carries wrt her son Gabe. I didn't want to have Raffi be straightforwardly ‘maternal’, it didn't feel right and I think older women in fiction should be allowed to have mixed feelings about this role more often. Plus, like Raffi herself realizes later in the fic, Elnor has already had plenty of other women bossing him around all his life, he doesn't need one more.
Soji is at the navigation console, smiling and waving a little awkwardly. And finally, Seven watching them from the captain’s chair, which she occupies with ease, leaning on one armrest. The very image of the roguish pirate captain; Cris wishes he could pull it off this well. “Welcome aboard,” Seven says, the hint of a smirk on her lips, as if she’d just heard every single one of Raffi’s thoughts.
I honestly think Raffi is constantly roasting Cris in her head. Also when rereading I was surprised about this reprise of the idea of mind-reading from the previous dialogue between Raffi and Elnor, that was cool and I can't remember if I even wrote it entirely on purpose. In any case, I wanted to have both Soji and Elnor along for this story because (1) they could offer an interesting outsider perspective on the older women drama about to unfold and (2) I wanted to have them interact with each other and have an adventure that had nothing to do with their specific backstories. Writing Soji in this story was so much fun! It was a nice challenge to balance her characterization between the right amounts of deadpan honesty and genuine care, and making it obvious that she's still figuring out how she wants to live her life.
“I don’t think Cris would forgive me if I tried to take La Sirena into another Borg transwarp conduit,” Soji says. “And honestly I’m not sure the ship can take it.” “It wasn’t particularly pleasant on a Borg cube either,” Seven adds. “As I’m sure Elnor remembers.” “Crashing on the surface was worse,” he replies, and some of the gloom lifts from his face. The effect Seven has on people sometimes—but Raffi should be the last to judge, shouldn’t she? It’s not as if seeing Seven again, sitting on that chair so lazily and yet still projecting intent, isn’t reminding Raffi of the few weeks they’d spent on board La Sirena before. But it’s probably best if she revisits that particular recap reel in private.
I based this little Seven-Elnor interaction from my own feelings about my Cool Aunt, which I think are fitting lmao (ie especially as kid, if she was speaking to me I would immediately feel better no matter what)
Also while rereading I was like, damn I made this first half of the chapter so horny... but I've been in a ldr myself and this is pretty true to my own experience. Reuniting always means a mixture of attraction and awkwardness, and it's what I wanted to convey about Raffi and Seven here, especially since they both have a hard time trusting in people or believing that they're capable of being around people without fucking it up. The following misunderstanding about room assignments is part of this pattern.
She’s re-learning restraint, in the hardest way possible, in other facets of her life.
So here comes the part of this fic I agonized over the most... Raffi's history of substance abuse and her current commitment to sobriety. I thought the latter is what fit better with Raffi's actions on the second half of S1 (ie locking herself out of the replicator) and some scenes of S2—imho those are clues that she (wants to) simply quit. Now, a commitment to complete sobriety (including weed snakeleaf, like in a 12-step program) is not necessarily an effective way to treat addiction long term—actually quite the opposite, from what I could learn from the research I did, even if still the most popular recommended form of treatment today. I'm not entirely sure it would be at all recommended in the 24th century. So how to reconcile this with the hints about Raffi quitting cold-turkey? Is it even something I would want to depict in a good light? What I eventually tried to do is treat the matter strictly from a character perspective. I hinted that Raffi is seeing a counselor, and now feeling part of a network of people, and is now restored to her place in society via Starfleet (from her perspective). Sobriety is something she thinks she should do and can do now, so that's what Raffi did; it's all part of her wider commitment to live a different life. If this also has a whiff of self-punishment... I don't think you'd be entirely wrong. I tried to hint that Raffi has her own thoughts on her addiction but I don't necessarily share them myself (see the disclaimer on top of chapter 4), and those thoughts might be another way in which she's denying herself (because no one else grants it to her either) the compassion I think she deserves. It's a really complex topic and I don't know if I did it justice here. I welcome feedback if you have any.
She’d thought she’d lost any interest in making out, over the years—she was surprised to find out how much Seven enjoys it, and how much of that enjoyment is infectious.
I have this headcanon that Seven really enjoys making out (it's appeared in other fic of mine too, eg “Doing the Unstuck”) and her partners never expect this of her. I think I like the idea that Seven's approach to sex and intimacy is still about the sudden thrill of closeness she displayed when she twirled Chakotay around in order to kiss him lol. I especially like the idea it's one of the things about Seven that's not changed despite all that happened to her since said kiss, and that she could bring Raffi to enjoy making out again as well.
It’s still the same suitcase-shaped contraption that she cobbled together months earlier with Borg parts from the Artifact, as far as Raffi can tell. Some other parts Seven had replicated on La Sirena, and then had proceeded to build the device with surprising ease. She’d explained that it was a modular design she and other friends had come up with over the years. It hadn’t been the first time she’d found herself needing a regenerator without having one handy. Raffi had admired her resourcefulness then, and still does now.
I ranted a lot about Seven's regeneration last summer, and all my thoughts and headcanons ended up in this fic. Regeneration for Seven is now a bit different than what it used to be on Voyager; still a necessity but quicker, and something that doesn't tie her down to bulky machinery any longer. Something that ultimately Seven has more control over. However, it's also a necessity that now needs to be articulated explicitly to the people she's close to, and that other people have to learn to take into account about her. I also wanted Seven to determine clear boundaries around regeneration—eg, here she doesn't want other people around when she regenerates—but boundaries that she is still constantly renegotiating, as it happens in chapter two when she invites Raffi to stay. Seven isn't used to be around people much anymore, so she's still adapting to new realities (like her relationship with Raffi) and rethinking what is comfortable for her.
“I hope your other stops were less frustrating than Trill,” Raffi offers, making her presence known. Soji looks up at her, and her face breaks into a smile. “Oh hey, I didn’t realize you were here, Raffi. But yes, I can honestly say it was the worst one so far. I think, and Agnes agrees, that their academic institutions really opposed the lifting of the synth ban for some reason.”
This little piece of Trill worldbuilding came to be because in “Second Self” Una McCormack wrote that Raffi has taken part in the zhian'tara of a colleague. Which is absolutely bonkers to me!! I couldn't help myself and expand on it a bit, all the while maintaining my stance on Trill being very conservative when it comes to decide on people's personhood. I know it's maybe controversial but I really don't think Trill institutions are that enlightened on the topic. They might think they are, but in presence of someone like Soji the appearance would crumble immediately. I honestly loved revisiting my Trill feelings through Raffi and Soji, I haven't written Dax fic in a very long time, so this was a nice way for me to scratch that itch.
Raffi crosses her legs, raises an eyebrow. She’s reminded all too well of when Soji had first come aboard, the confusion of a young woman whose entire life as she knew it had been a deception. She can recall how Soji described her relationship with Narek, and how Raffi had been the one to name his behavior for what it was. Maybe some pointing out of the obvious is needed here too.
This is one of the things that caught my attention the most when I rewatched S1—Raffi has been looking out for Soji practically from the start, calling out Narek's presence for what it was (abusive). I wanted to let Raffi speak her mind here as well, about the kind of interactions Soji has had while on tour.
A scratchy, stuttering audio signal starts playing from La Sirena’s bridge speakers. ‘—damage. Propulsion systems offline. Atmospheric controls—’ More digital artifacting of the signal. ‘—predict where the subspace eddies will take the ship. I don’t know how long I still have—’ The audio signal cuts off, then the message repeats once again. ‘—damage. Propulsion systems offline. Atmospheric controls—’ “I think that’s all of it,” Soji says, soberly. “Damn,” Raffi says, at a loss. “She’s dying, if not already dead,” Elnor says, voicing what everyone is thinking. He turns to Raffi. “What do we do?”
When she read this chapter, my partner asked me about the use of pronouns for the yet unknown person in distress—here Elnor assumes it's a she, while Raffi and Soji don't. It was actually on purpose, I wanted to hint at the fact that Elnor's default assumption is that the people that do stuff out there in space are women because the Qowat Milat usually speaks in these terms as well. Maybe it's silly, I don't know, but I wrote it in anyway as a subtle wordlbuilding detail. Maybe too subtle if it leads to pronoun confusion.
“I’m not sure I could live with myself if we didn’t try to save the crew of that ship. There’s a chance they might still be alive.” “Then let’s do it,” Raffi says with a curt nod. “You’re in command of La Sirena now.”
In the rescue scene I tried very hard to let Raffi do tactical evaluation in a way that didn't come off as callous as it sometimes does for Worf on TNG or Tuvok on Voyager—she's honestly trying to give Soji, now in command, a good overview of the situation.
Raffi takes a long look at Elnor, and to his credit he looks genuinely curious, hands folded together, leaning with his elbows on his knees. She knows better than to doubt his intentions, but—when he wants, he knows exactly when and how to ask one of his blunt questions for maximum effect, doesn’t he? In this case, distraction. She idly wonders if this is a skill that everyone in the Qowat Milat picks up, along with the assassin training. Using the truth as a finely honed blade, rather than the cudgel it’s always reminded her of.
That the absolute candor tenet of the Qowat Milat may be used in more than one way and for more than one goal is something I already written about before (ie in “Policy of Truth”). I think Raffi has her own different ideas about telling the truth because she's trained in intelligence gathering and also because pursuing the truth has always been painful for her—see her quest to find out who was behind the Mars attack. So here she's surprised to find out that Elnor's honesty is not at all a weakness, which she's assumed so far, but rather a very well-honed skill.
“It is the ship we’re looking for,” Soji confirms, going through the readings with, once again, an ease that belies her actual experiences. “It is still transmitting the distress call, though it’s extremely garbled. The hull is pressurized, somehow, at least partially. Life signs—one, I think. Humanoid. Very faint” She looks at Raffi, eyes wide, and Raffi braces herself. “We have to beam them over. The subspace tug might breach the hull at any time. I know that we have no idea who we’ll find, but they’re dying.” Goddammit. They really should’ve woken Seven up before getting here. Then again, at this point it’s probably best to ask for forgiveness than permission. If they’re all still alive to do so. But they will; a boy assassin, an android with super strength, and Raffi. Risk assessment used to be her job in Starfleet, long ago.
I still really like Raffi thinking 'oh well, too late to go back now, but at least I have backup'. I thought about her characterization a lot while writing this fic, and tried to convey her dry humor at best I can. She's really funny in canon! I really enjoyed writing her constant quips, even if they're just in her head.
Down the stairs, she hears Emil grumble. “I can’t deliver proper emergency care if you rush me.” “You’ll replicate what you need, as you need it,” Soji retorts impatiently. “Just initiate the transport.”
All EMHs are the same.
She’s older now, and out of uniform, looking much worse for wear after what she just went through. But there’d been a time more than twenty years prior when her face had been on every Federation newsfeed, along with the rest of the crew of the USS Voyager. “You know her?” Raffi turns to Soji, frozen in bemusement beside Emil. “I’ve never met her but yes, I know who she is,” Raffi says. “You two stay here and keep an eye on things. Seven needs to see this.”
I really like the way this chapter ends (so much so that it's the quote I chose for the fic summary on AO3). I thought about the idea of generational difference a lot when coming up with this fic, and how Raffi has witnessed so many momentous events, like the return of Voyager, that Elnor and even Soji really have no context for. It's an interesting aspect of having older characters that weren't around in previous shows, and an opportunity for a different perspective that unfortunately I think Star Trek: Picard squandered completely (Una McCormack was more attentive in her novels, luckily). Regardless, Raffi's experience turns out to be an asset more than once in this fic—no one aboard La Sirena at this point is as intimately aware of the events of the Dominion War as she is.

"stop voting for gabriel gabriel is Not cool he’s a dork" tbf, my definition of "cool" has never seemed to align with what others consider "cool". my definition of "cool" usually requires some level of autism around dinosaurs and/or animals in general (GODS I love weird animal trivia and Jurassic Park did something to my brain chemistry my dad taking small child me to see it in theaters was a Mistake) which none of the archangels seem to display much of. the closest is Gabe with the little dog in his first ep.
(Jurassic Park example, actually. Alan Grant is the coolest mf in that movie and I'm p sure it's supposed to be Malcolm.) "look at how that dude dresses! how he acts! so cool!" "fascinating, but what is his favorite Star Trek series." I'm too autistic to understand whatever constitutes "cool" conventionally I guess. Hannibal is fine I like him but Will, with his dog obsession and deep desire to be Left The Fuck Alone, and then becoming unhinged over the series? very cool of him.
"this angel is a tyrant in favor of the apocalypse" deeply uncool. "this angel is a hedonistic coward that likes to victimize abusers" well, the bar is pretty low… (which isn't to say I think that deeply uncool (imo) character trait makes them a bad character in general, I just can't associate them with "cool-ness".)
oh but also? "any excuse to think about lucifer being a slut #literally let me run a train on him until he’s mindbroken. that would fix him." ur right ur so right and it's very sexy of u to say.
(godfather voice) You come into my house, on the day my daughter's to be married, and you ask me to accept not only raphael slander, but ian malcolm slander??? HANNIBAL SLANDER??????????
no, no, it's fine. i see all these guys as pretty equally weird and autistic. i mean, ian malcolm is described as a rockstar of a mathematician for a reason, this is his Thing, you know? he thinks flirting via explaining his mathematical theory is hot. i'm really not sure you could claim he's not fascinated by the dinosaurs, given that they're his vehicle to prove his theory correct, that he's the one in the book who takes note of their population growth and figures out that the park is going to get out of human control very quickly. (as far as I remember, it's been a few years since i revisited it.) sorry wait this isn't ian malcolm defense squad time. and we don't have time to get into hannibal lmao.
BUT. i will not be accepting raphael slander ever forever. incorrect. they lay out their reasoning for the apocalypse very clearly in 5x03, how they have watched every monstrous thing that has occurred in human history and only been able to come to the conclusion that god has to be dead, because otherwise he couldn't have allowed it to happen. the apocalypse is a promised escape from pain. and then, of course, castiel's resurrection in the s5 finale alongside the apocalypse being cancelled tells them only one thing: that god is alive and he just. let all that shit happen. let it happen to the world, let it happen to raphael. now, gabriel is dead, michael and lucifer are in the cage, god is still mia, and castiel. it doesn't actually matter what castiel believes because he's become the face of all of that. it's an impossible position to be in, and archangels are, as a rule, not very good at changing course. raphael is alone, and raphael has decided to self-destruct. i just wish the writers actually gave a shit about them so they could have leaned into what is one of the coolest arcs of disillusionment with god and grasping at any measure of control when the one stable thing you've based your whole life on has been yanked out from under you.
and gabriel is deeply uncool. that's the point! he's not a hero of the people, taking out evildoers in funny ways. he's a deeply petty, incredibly self-serving asshole who still carries the belief that, as an archangel, he gets to decide what's right and wrong, who lives and who dies, and how much pain he gets to cause them before they do. he's all for the apocalypse until it starts messing with his things. his eventual stand against lucifer isn't righteous, it's a dozen insults lashing out as his older brother, trying to hurt him as much as he possibly can because lucifer hurt gabriel first. and he dies because he is still too much like lucifer. he's still playing the same tricks lucifer taught him to. cause what's the apocalypse but a much larger version of gabriel's game, right? one angel who decided humanity as a whole was rotten and needed to be wiped out against another angel who has spent the past few centuries taking out his issues on whatever jerk crosses his path. like, really, the difference is that lucifer is out to get Results. gabriel likes fucking with people, but he doesn't want the status quo to change because that would mean no more people to fuck with.
first and foremost, gabriel is a dickhead whose shots sometimes hit their mark. i love him so much, he's so awful.
#ask#anyway. RAPHAEL DEFENSE SQUAD. JUSTICE FOR RAPHAEL.#gabriel is a deeply uncool loser angel and i love him so so much.#raphael spn#gabriel spn

Eight TV Shows to Get To Know Me
Rules: list eight shows for your followers to get to know you.
@phileasfoggstiddies tagged me. thanks Gabe! I'm also not sure I have eight whole shows but we'll see
1. The West Wing - my parents loved this show when I was a kid, and my mom decided I was old enough to understand it when I was about 14. we binge watched it on Netflix's mail-in DVD service, which was the only service they had at the time. this happened to coincide with the 2008 election. you can imagine what it did to my adolescent brain.
2. M*A*S*H - reruns were on all the time in the background when I was a kid, but I also used the aforementioned Netflix mail service to watch it in order as a teenager. again, if you've seen it you have some idea of what this did to me
3. The Untamed/CQL - my dearest friend and comrade. my beautiful perfect insane epic fantasy slash political thriller slash romance slash zombie flick. I think I would have perished in the ravaging plague without you and the massive supply of incredible fanfiction you generate.
4. Supernatural - it sucks. I love it. I end up watching it every fall. It's always as bad as I remember. I bonded with one of my best friends watching it. it's the star trek of our generation, and that would be a compliment if I was saying it about any other show. unfortunately I'm saying it about this show.
5. Good Eats - a cooking show? from a person who always bitches about cooking? yes, because every cooking show should explain specifically why you are doing things and how the things you are doing work. why is this not a baseline requirement for cooking shows. I used to watch it every night when I was a kid. at least 40% of whatever culinary ability I possess is down to Good Eats
6. Good Omens - I don't have anything to say, other than this show was designed in a lab to fuck me up.
7. Interview With The Vampire - this was also designed in a lab to fuck me up but in a WILDLY different way. can you believe this show exists? I can't really believe it exists
8. Sherlock - I know it's the done thing to complain about Sherlock. I know we like to pretend it's a bad show. Here's the thing though: I'm not going to do that now or ever because it legitimately slaps like hell and changed my life. it's a work of art and would be a work of art even if it hadn't inspired an absolutely unparalleled online experience and introduced me to several wonderful friends, including one of my very favorite people whose couch I am on right at this moment. Hustle loyalty respect✌️😎
Anyone feel free to do this if you like. I suppose I will specifically make @featuresofinterest, @manhasetardis, @6000yrs, and @finaldiorama responsible for this water bottle if they choose to be :)

Currently watching: now that our ill advised good omens venture is over and I have satisfied my curiosity, gabe and I are back to alternating star trek the original series and jojo part six fucking lol
Currently reading: STILL the beloved vision a history of nineteenth century music
Current obsession: plotting a VERY questionable novel rewrite called A Smart Girls Guide To Being A Bisexual Wizard Who Does Regicide And Then Destructively Self Isolates

Watching Star Trek: Picard, s3 ep2 'Disengage'
Getting some guardians of the galaxy vibes with the music
FENRIS RANGER SHIP? IS IT SEVEN??!
Damn, it isn't
This Ranger dude is sketchy, and I don't think he's legit
I don't trust him as fr as I can throw him
Ah, Romulan Ale😂
Oh Jack, you're a sketchy dude but I respect it
OH SHIT, WHO TF IS AFTER JACK
I don't think the Titan Captain is gonna want to aid Picard and the Crusher's
"COMMANDER Hansen." I WILL HURT YOU YOU BASTARD THAT IS NOT THE NAME SHE PREFERS
The way everyone looked like they wanted to speak up on behalf of Seven but don't because they have to listen to the Captain 👀
What's so familiar about Jack?🤔 IS HE ACTUALLY WESLEY'S SON THAT BEVERLY RAISED
I SWEAR IF THEY KILL OF BEVERLY I'LL SCREAM
Oh Raffi😭 she looks so upset
"Here... We are." I'm sobbing the emotion in her voice has me sobbing 😭
She definitely seems to be at her breaking point with this mission Starfleet sent her on
"'Disengage?' No. Hell no." IS THIS WHY SHE GETS IN A FIGHT
"118 should you continue. Do not join the dead." I really think Worf might be her handler
"I guess I'm on my own." 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 You're on your own kid, you always have been
"I love how Seven "You could be the hero who saved heroes. Or you could be the Captain who let two Legends die." YEAH WHAT SHE SAID
Since they went after Jack, and Picard did the transport inhibitors, it makes me wonder if Jack isn't Beverly's son by blood, but was entrusted with him for his protection (it would certainly make sense why she kept him secret from her friends
YEAH BABY THE TITAN HAS ARRIVED!
"Bring em all onboard, we're basically a hotel now." 😂 Hotel Titan that just makes him a Hotel manager😂
WHERE'S BEVERLY
If they left her on the ship I'm gonna scream
Oh Raffi is so gorgeous
OH MY GOD IT'S JAE
"Gabe says you ambushed him at his baby's doctor." While not wrong, still rude
"Ambushed? So that's what my son thinks of me?" I'm sobbing she just wanted to meet her grandbaby
"I chose my son, my art. And that was enough for me. But not for you." I'm sobbing so freaking hard rn
Fuck, he's making her chose between her son and talking to the guy who could be responsible for killing hundreds of people, that isn't fair at all
Thank God they got Beverly
"She said not to trust anyone and you've basically brought, everyone." I like Jack😂
The way all of them turned when the Ensign said Captain 😂
I don't like this other Captain Lady, she's big creepy
Oh shit, they're outside of their justification
Oh damn, the Captain Lady just threw a ship at them👀
Holy hell, it tore a hole through deck 11👀
Love how Geordi taught his daughter that any law of physics could be broken
"The Fenris folk." I would like to punch you sir for how disrespectful you are being
I don't think he's a con man in that he's not Beverly's son
"And you? You are no better." FUCK YOU
"You are relieved of duty for insubordination." FUCK YOU YOU ASSHOLE
"This man is getting what he deserves, so is she." I HATE YOU
OH MY GOD, 'Do the math, Jean-Luc." OH MY GOD IS JACK PICARD'S SON
I'm screaming a bit
I love how Jack is calling Picard out on his bullshit
"Who is your father?" "I NEVER HAD ONE!"👀 The plot thickens
The fact Jar owns a bar is not surprising, kinda funny honestly😂
Haven't you heard Sneed? Smoking kills.
"In my experience, Artists are unknowable assholes who live in their head instead of the real world."👀
First wife? Does that mean he remarried?🤔
SECTION 31?!👀
I feel horrible for Raffi that she had to do a drug 😭
Oh my god, Sneed beheaded T'luco👀
HELL YEAH SHE STABBED SNEED!!!!!
Oh no, she's fallen🥺
WORF!!
I KNEW IT!!!!!!!!!!! I RECOGNIZED THE SPEECH PATTERN AND KNEW IT! HELL YEAH!
I get why Shaw doesn't want to endanger his crew and I respect that, but I still don't like him.
Love how Jack broke out of the brig😂
OOOOOOO RIKER IS WAKING BEVERLY!!!!!
I don't like this Captain lady, but I applaud the actress because wow
"That was some specific standing up, Admiral." 😂
Oh shit, the whole ship is now looking for him😂
"I don't give a damn what rank I do or don't have, I need a tac team to Shuttlebay ASAP." VOYAGER SEVEN VIBES!
"He's protecting his mother." HELL YEAH
BEVERLY!!!!!
Oh MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD
That look😭 she looks kinda ashamed that she kept him from Picard
"Because he's my son." I'M SCREAMING
Now that kid is protected because his dad is an Admiral
Yeah I'm loving this so much
AND AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Oh wait till Laris learns she's gonna be like a stepmom
So awesome
I'm screaming so much I fell off my bed😂
I WISH I HAD THE NEXT EPISODE ALREADY
Also, based off the body language, I feel like the Captain Lady is actually Moriarty

10 Characters, 10 Fandoms, 10 Tags
Basic rules: choose 10 fandoms that you are part of/support, and choose a favorite character from each of those. Then, tag ten folks!
Tagged by: @briar-ffxiv
Tagging: @tidepoolarchive @mossycattail @moss-opossum @assortedinsanities @bunnyboybosom and anyone else who wants a go (I don't know 10 people Nate regularly interacts with)
Having OSDD can mean some strange things happen sometimes and currently Nate, the owner of this blog is not fronting so I, Gabe, another part, am currently fronting. Plus, Nate hasn't watched, read or played much, hart tends to front on walks in nature or when crafting. So here's all of our choices below
Death from Discworld
Terry Pratchett's Death is just an amazing character, he is caring even though he isn't supposed to be, he's hilarious without intending to be and Terry Pratchett just wrote him in the best way. There's so much to love about Discworld but to me it's made perfect by Death.
Honourable Mentions: Luggage, Susan, Rincewind, Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and Imp Y Celyn
Samwise from Lord of the Rings
Sam is so warm hearted and caring, but he's not afraid to express his feelings and thoughts, even when they may cause a divide. He's honestly a role model and 'goal' of the host part of the system.
Honourable Mentions: Gandalf and Aragorn
Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation
We were diagnosed as autistic at a very young age and were told all the stereotypes of autism were us. Our parents mourned our lack of empathy and bizarre habits constantly. Saiph even remembers being called 'soul less'. However, the host at the time, Saiph, loved sci-fi and found a refuge in re-aired episodes of Star Trek TNG. Data healed us in being all the things he wasn't meant to be according to his construction but still straddling the world of human and non-human. Data is very important to us as a character. Yes, its true our empathy isn't really there and some of our habits are strange, but we still have compassion for others and we don't hurt anyone being our weird selves.
Honourable Mentions: Worf and Picard
Yato from Noragami
I admit we're a bit behind with the manga so no spoilers for anything thanks! But with the manga and anime that we have watched and read I can say we really love Yato's cheeky-bordering-on-idiotic charm and wit. Noragami was also just a really important show for the host while they were studying at college (UK 16-18 college) and got very depressed. Noragami helped out a lot in keeping the host going.
Honourable Mention: Yukine
Merlin from Merlin
From about age 5, I was an Arthurian legend nerd so Saiph adored Merlin when it came out, watching every single episode as it aired. We didn't use social media until we were 18 but if we had, Saiph would have had a merlin themed tumblr blog for sure. Saiph loves Merlin's humour, dry wit, bluntness and fun he has with his destiny.
Honourable Mentions: Morgana, Gawain, Gaius and Arthur
Hercule Poirot from Poirot
If Poirot was real I would love to be his friend so badly. Sure this might mean I get involved in several murder cases and he would tut at my untidiness but we could be very autistic together and enjoy good food together too. He's clever, particular in his style and likes but most of all very caring.
Honourable Mention: Miss Lemon
Vlad from Young Dracula
So first of all this actor before we even full realised we were trans gave us trans guy vibes and made us feel safe. As far as I know, no, the actor is not trans but the vibes are there (the first series the actor was like eleven). But then oh my gosh the story of being forced to be something you don't want to be and the way Vlad desperately tries to stick to his morals throughout the series is so compelling. Vlad's constant and seemingly futile but unwavering fight, grapple against the darkness inside him was the great drama of my childhood/teenhood.
Guillermo from What We Do In The Shadows
I can't seem to get the newest series here in the UK so no spoilers thanks! But yes, Guillermo is such a sweetheart. He knows what he wants, he works for it, he even asks for it, its the dickhead vampires in his life that mean he can't get his wish. Also, he's such a cool fighter while being gentle and kind. Love him. You won't have him, Nandor? I'll have him!
Honourable Mentions: Nandor and Lazlo
Thomas from Ghosts
Truth is I am an extremely melodramatic person who has a problem with using long words that I'm not entirely sure the meaning of. That is a universal truth with all the system parts. Also Thomas is silly and very funny. His death is so sad and unnecessary too, it breaks my heart that events could work towards that end. I love a lot of the Ghosts' characters really but I had to choose one so Thomas is it!
Honourable Mentions: Captain, Kitty, Robin, Mary, Humphrey and Pat
Thomas from Downton Abbey
(I did not intend to put both Thomases in a row but I didn't plan properly) So we all agree to ignore the second film, right? It butchers everyone. Right? Good. Eagle-eyed people might spot that Nate sort of lifted Neely's (one of our favourite DnD characters) surname 'Osbarrow' from Thomas Barrow. That is how much we love this guy. Thomas starts as a villain, that you love to see act out his plans. He's compelling just as that. But then you see him soften and a great protector of others, using his bile and poison to spit in the right direction as it were and you love him. But with the years of being horrible and cruel for cruel sake, no one will take his kindness for kindness, looking for the hidden agenda. It is genuinely heartbreaking to Saiph and the host who are the main fans of this show. A great study in how to do character arcs in my opinion too.
Honourable Mentions: Mary, Sybil, Violet and Mrs Patmore
There's lots more characters from lots more shows, films and books we enjoy but ten is all we had so these are the top ten!
Some more characters who didn't quite make the top ten:
Chihaya from Chihayafuru
Cat from Cat of Dury Lane books
Marvin from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Twig from The Edge Chronicles
Miss Marple from Miss Marple

Star Trek TOS S1 Ep 01 The Man Trap
there is so much happening in The Man Trap i feel so confused but delighted - imagine u watched the Pilot and then suddenly the next episode EVERYONE but Mr. Spock are different. the whole crew is and you have no idea why but okay then i guess?? and then you have Captain Kirk sitting looking all smug and pretty while his ship surgeon is doing some routine examination
THEN we go back to the ship and Spock is being attempted to be engaged in talk by Lieutenant Uhura (flirting? pretty sure it was an attempt at trying to flirt) and while Spock clearly understands the goal Uhura has he keeps his speech formal and "logical" but then gets clearly confused by the implication of Vulcan having a moon because it doesn't??? wha-??? THEN she goes to immediately be baffled by Spock's lack of response to the announcement or one death from the landing party because "Captain Kirk could be dead and he's the closest thing to a friend you have!" like I'm 😀😀😀
THEN i see how different Doctor McCoy's and Kirk's dynamic is here? where Doctor McCoy was actually being scolded/admonished by Kirk because as a captain he has dead men now and I'm reminded these guys are in their late thirties - or that's the conclusion i reached
more things happen and i get to see the botany lab and Sulu is there and there's a sentient plant that's obviously a hand with a glove and more things and it's hilariously endearing be at it's the 60's but it's charming
momentary angry moment at the subtitles saying [foreign language speaking] or something but :)))
THEN Kirk and Spock are beamed down and working together and Captain Kirk runs in a silly little zig-zag and Spock scoots over, close to Kirk and then scoots back and Kirk crawls over to a rock and 😭 these are grown men why are they being adorable to me????
then there's a whole mess on board of the ship and then they have a talk about someone being the last of their species and I'm thinking of the movies and while Spock is not the last it still tugs at my brain and then Spock is injured and Kirk runs to the medbay to check on him and it's the first time we see his blood is green but I'm being distracted by Spock's eyelid makeup i have no shame
then Kirk tries to get rid of "the crªture" while in McCoy's room and offering it some salt that looks like paracetamol tablets and calling it like it's a dog AGFHSHFHSHFHS "come on Nancy, come and get it!" while the Doctor is In Distress™ AND THEN Spock shows up and it's all "!!!! ITS KILLING THE CAPTAIN SHOOT IT!!!!" and just tossing himself between Kirk and "Nancy" and when McCoy says he won't shoot Nancy Spock starts to go HAM at it by punching it several times like "SEE?!?!" and then he gets yeeted across the room and is just slumped there and then Kirk is screaming in pain and McCoy finally shoots it
THEN we get to the bridge and when Sulu calls for the Captain and he doesn't react he looks at Spock and Spock goes to talk to Kirk and I'm like 🤨? but then Kirk is "thinking about the buffalo" and km wondering about Tarsus IV because he's been in a position where it was just to survive and being the only ones, right? and then the episode ends :D and the credits have scenes from the Pilot episode for some reason

So I've been mainlining all things Trek the past few weeks, Picard S3 really re-invigorated my love for the franchise.
Rewatching Voyager with an eye to Seven-centric episodes with a few Janeway-centric ones. Seasons 4 to 5 are really great! Netflix apparently poneyed up some money to get Trek shows back. The old Trek shows though and not the new ones.
Star Trek Picard: No Man's Land: The Raffi and Seven Audio drama and I wish they did more of this. It's about time Star Trek caught up to Doctor Who's Big Finish. It's a really good adventure story but also it's such a good romance and love story for Raffi and Seven, but not just with them.
Star Trek Picard: Second Self by Una McCormack is such a great Raffi Musiker novel with an unexpected thread Deep Space Nine thread and connection. AND Raffi having a vision of Gabe, Elnor, and most importantly, Seven of Nine years before Raffi would have met or known about Seven!
They're the new Imzadi-style couple for Star Trek, I'm pinning that star!
Strange New Worlds - Its first season is free on youtube (US). It's really good and harkens back to TOS style and is very much an ensemble show! Also! There are LIGHTS AND I CAN SEE! (side eyes season 3 of Picard). I love the way it has character-centric episodes and Monsters of the Week without resetting the status quo. The frustrating thing about Voyager is that they get into these interesting situations that reset back to zero. I'm glad it's not the case for SNW.
Weirdly, with all that it's doing great and awesome characters of Uhura, Una, and La'An I haven't tipped into fully loving it. I like it but I don't feel the fannish love yet. I'm sure it will, it's just not there yet. Also, Pike's gravity-defying hair is really disturbing me, I want to reach into the screen and mess it up.
I love Paul Wesley as Stefan Salvatore but I'm not feeling him as Kirk... So I'm withholding judgment until I see him in season 2. Paul is really great at playing jackasses, his Silas being a snarky asshole was GREAT. But I don't know about him being Kirk...
Up next on the Trek Queue:
Star Trek Discovery s4, I'm still looking for legal streams to watch it since they took it off Netflix Philippines. Netflix got the rights back for TOS, TNG, VOY, and DS9 but not the ones I want to watch legally to support namely: Discovery and Picard.
I'll give it a few days, if nothing springs up I'm gonna have to go through the black flag.

Ty for the tag Marvel!! <3
First fictional crush?
Hmm, probably Gabe from Dani's Castle. He was always my favourite <3
First colour I think of:
Purple, always.
Emotionally scarring fanfic:
I...don't think I have one? There are several memorable ones, but I don't think I've read one that made me react viscerally...well, there was one that made me cry for a good five minutes, but I don't remember plot at all. Like, I remember there was a character who offed themself and all the other characters were super distraught about it, but don't ask me anything else bc I cannot for the life of me remember. Read it years ago.
You're coming to my house for dinner?
Ooh, ok, uhh...I'd probably nick the mac & cheese recipe off my mum, would ask you about your favourite meat (or if you're vegetarian, fave replacement), add some potatoes and veg (y'know how at Christmas you'll have carrots and parsnips done in a certain way? That's what I'd do. I'd do roasties as well bc they are the bEST-) and then bake a cake for after. My best received cake was a lemon and lime sponge with white chocolate on the top :p
Lions or kangaroos?
Kangaroos. They're bouncy kickboxers and the pouch sounds cosy.
Fictional villain?
Oh gee, now that's tough. I can only think of two options: Lucius Malfoy (bc the family dynamic of the Malfoys is interesting) or Max Jägerman. It's not that I really really really like Max, but he's the only "villain" that I can think of that has really glaringly obvious issues (e.g. his dad, the way he treats Grace (both in her fantasies and out of them), the fact that he isn't even on good terms with his "friends", etc.)
What accompanies my Burn Book picture?
Sci-fi nerd, bookworm, will NOT shut up about musicals. Total loner. (idrk what would be in the Burn Book, sorry)
How many days would I last in the universe of my favourite fandom?
Let's see: I have many. If I was in Star Trek, I like to think I'd last a good while, depends on what era. If it's any of the wars, I'd be either dead in 10 hours, just barely scrape through, or miss the whole thing. If I was in Hatchetfield then I'd have succumbed to Pokey's apocalypse immediately, and if I was in Red Dwarf then I'd probably be coasting along with The Boys just fine. They're a fun group.
Have I heard of Mischief Theatre?
They're the Goes Wrong Show people, right? I've seen The Play That Goes Wrong live and it was INCREDIBLE!! My best friend and his grandma came to see it too and none of us could stop laughing the entire time. 100/10. If it came back to my city I'd definitely go and watch it again.
Do I feel sorry for Medusa?
I doooo :((
Which song is my OTP?
I have many OTPs and tbh it depends on the song and if I feel like the vibes would fit a certain pairing. Here's an example though: listen to The School Song from Matilda and tell me that isn't Crowley right there. You can't, can you? ;)
Which song makes me disassociate and daydream the fastest?
Again, depends on the song, but also on my mood. Pretty much any song can get me into my head. Recently it's been both 'Poison' from Hazbin Hotel and 'Jester (Pomni's Song)' by Black Gryph0n, Baasik and Lizzie Freeman (Pomni's VA!) They're so good!!
Moots! No pressure tags! <3 @lilacthebooklover @jewishruthfleming @androgynous-sack-of-flesh-3 @jklovesfandoms @queermarzipan @mrtobenamedlater @the-nefarious-vampire
My own get to know you game:
Who was your first fictional crush?:
What’s the first colour you think of when I tell you to think of a colour?:
Which fanfiction emotionally scarred you and still makes you shudder to this day?:
I’m coming to your house for dinner, non-negotiable, what are you making me?:
Do you prefer lions or kangaroos?:
Which fictional villain do you brush past the glaringly obvious issues for because you really like them?:
What would accompany your picture in the Burn Book in Mean Girls?:
How many days would you last in the universe of your favourite fandom?:
Have you heard of Mischief Theatre?:
Do you feel sorry for Medusa?:
Which song makes you think of your OTP?:
Which song makes you disassociate and daydream the fastest?:

honestly capitalism and the modern television industry is killing star trek. these people care more about hitting "focus groups" than actually giving fans what they want and making good quality content that the series is known and loved for. modern star trek is a depressing mess.
#you could not pay me to watch picard or below deck#i already lost brain cells from discovery. no thank you#gabe speaks#star trek

We Were Always Going to End Up Together - Ch 6
Suptober 22, Day 6: Parody
On AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/42237885/chapters/106665180
(Or read from the beginning: https://archiveofourown.org/works/42237885/chapters/106051008)
Their dinners of burgers and tater tots (because Dean was a sucker for tater tots) hit the spot as it always did. Dean never got tired of Ellen’s cooking, and he always looked forward to something made in her kitchen either at her home or the Roadhouse. Cas had enjoyed his meal just as much and Dean was pleased at how easily the conversation had flowed. For someone who had proclaimed himself an awkward person, Dean didn’t really see it. They felt smooth as silk together.
Dean paid the bill when Jo brought it over, tipping her well for not being obnoxious just because she could be. Of course he’d still owe her a recap of the date the next time he came in, but it had gone so well, he was actually looking forward to her teasing. His heart was feeling all tender in a way that Dean had forgotten it could feel. And Cas was certainly a lot to drink in, all tousled dark hair and full lips and laser-beam stare into the very center of him.
They made their way through the now crowded tables and into the still night air, both of them walking slowly down the sidewalk that ran alongside the building, neither of them making any effort to separate.
“Thank you for such a wonderful night, Dean.”
“Thank you for sticking around after you realized you were having dinner with me and not Gabe.”
“Dinner with you was infinitely better than any dinner with Gabe.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
Cas was standing closer to Dean than was customary and Dean swayed a little closer, searching for a sign that he should close the gap.
“What was the name of that Star Trek parody you were telling me about?”
“Galaxy Quest. Dude, you gotta watch it sometime.”
“Is it that good?”
“Hell yeah, and with an amazing cast. Alan Rickman is just awesome.”
“Isn’t he always?”
“Yeah.” Dean paused again, searching to see if he should just lean in a little bit more.
“Do you know what it’s on? What service?”
“I own the DVD, so I don’t really keep track.”
“Oh. Well, I’m sure I’ll be able to find it somewhere…”
“Or you could come watch it at my place?” Dean blurted.
“Now?”
Dean hesitated for half a second, trying to decide if this was an excuse or not, but decided he didn’t care. Watching Galaxy Quest wasn’t as good as sex, but it was also hardly a consolation prize. “If you’re free, I’m free.”
Now it was Cas’ turn to hesitate. Dean could see uncertainty lurking in those baby blues.
“Hey, man. Only if you’re comfortable with it.”
“I just realized that I invited myself over to your place tonight and that isn’t exactly polite if you meant ‘at some point’ instead of ‘right now’.”
“Relax a little. I wouldn’t have agreed if it wasn’t okay. I’m not gonna play games with you like that.”
“Okay. I also realized that you could think I was angling to come home to have sex with you.”
“Dude, you don’t gotta…”
“And I realize that I’m not against that idea, but also that it wasn’t what I meant at all. And I don’t want to put any undue pressure on you.”
Dean laughed a little. “Cas. It’s okay. I promise, I will use my words like a grownup if I’m uncomfortable about anything, okay? And we don’t have to do anything you or I don’t wanna do. There’s no agenda here. No need to rush things or stick to a checklist. Whatever you want to do next, let’s do that.”
“Are you sure?”
“I mean, I said it didn’t I?”
“Then I would like to kiss you.”
Dean leaned forward in anticipation and was pleased to feel Castiel’s lips on his, gentle but firm. It didn’t take any coaxing for them to reduce the space between them from a few inches to virtually nothing. Dean tasted a hint of beer and bacon on Cas’ tongue as the kiss deepened and he thought he might never need to come up for air. That beautiful zinging sensation traveled through his body, waking it up to the potential of future pleasure.
Eventually they did need to surface for more than little sips of air and for them both to realize that taking their make out session to a more private location was in their best interests.
“Still wanna come back to my place?” Dean could feel how swollen and red his lips must be. That minor discomfort was something he hadn’t experienced in far too long, and Cas was more fun to kiss than anyone he’d locked lips with before.
“Yes, Dean.”
“Do you want to ride with me or…”
“Ride with you. I was going to order a lyft…”
“Then let me introduce you to my baby.” Dean took Cas’ hand and led him over to where Baby was parked, gleaming dark and beautiful under the streetlights. He enjoyed playing the gentleman and opening the car door for Cas before getting in himself. Cas took advantage of the bench seats to slide all the way over to Dean, resting his wide palm on Dean’s thigh. Dean hadn’t been this turned on by another person in way too long, so instead of starting the car he turned his head and started making out with Cas again. Clearly this was an activity he wasn’t going to get tired of anytime soon. He relished the sensations of where they touched, Cas clearly just as interested in getting as much of Dean as Dean was in him.
Their breath once again coming in pants, Dean chuckled at the fogged up windows. If Jo, or worse, Ellen, noticed that Baby was still parked like this, Dean was sure to get an earful and teasing for at least a couple of months. “We should probably head out.”
“Unless you want to keep going?”
“Nah, there’s no way I’d survive someone catching us going any farther than this.”
“Sex in public can be invigorating.”
“See, and right now I am totally on board with that, but Jo is like my kid sister and there’s no way I could ever come back here if we got caught.”
“That would be a problem.”
“I’d have to go on the run…”
“You could always just hide out in my corn.”
“That sounded dirty.”
“Good.”
“Should I drive now?”
“I’ll try to keep my hands off you.”
“If you make me crash my car…”
“I will keep my hands to myself.”
“And other things.”
“And other things.”
Dean laughed and pulled out of the parking lot knowing that tonight was going to get even better.
