1. This is a bit old fic. I remember in it Wangxian are living in a cottage now, and one day WWX finds LWJ vehemently chopping wood. Turns out LWJ is punishing himself because he missed few days of “everyday” therefore he thinks he failed WWX. Do you remember what that fic was? Heh #3 on post

2. Could you please help me find a fic? The main point was that Lan Wangji was injured in the Gusu massacre and during the turtle cave scene Wuxian gives Wangji his core. The story is canon compliant otherwise, but after Wuxian’s death Wangji learns to play the dizi and he always keeps Chenqing in his belt. I think it was a long fic (50,000+ words) and could have sworn I read it on ao3… but I can’t find it again! Help!! #12 on post

3. Looking for a fic. Wei Wuxian goes on tour or something similar, and the tabloids post something about him cheating even though he didn’t. He’s dating Lan Wangji and even tho he knows he didn’t cheat he can’t handle the stress of having a boyfriend on tour/ far away. Hiii i need help in finding a fanfic So i remeber that the fic starts with the author telling us that wei ying and lan zhan are happy after everything that happened and wei ying is trying to cultivate his golden core but wei yings core is not strong enough so that he can cultivate to imortality. Lan zhan decides that he does not want to live eternaly and he ages with wei ying. Lan zhan is sharing his spiritual energy with wei ying and this way he ie sustaining the both of them until he finally runs out of it and one day they lay in bed and they die together in the jingshi. 12. For your next fic finder… I’ve suddenly remembered this elusive fic. I’m pretty sure it was a canon era BDSM AU (in that people have inherent dom/sub dynamics), and WWX was a sub that had been raised/socialized as a dom by the Jiang sect. The fic was set during the CR study arc, and IIRC something happened in the library that caused WWX to drop hard, revealing the truth to everybody. It’s not The Hilt Lies Well In Hand by HeavenlySkyfarer, or A Gesture of Companionship by Khashana. Help? #13 of post

A) During the first siege Wei Ying uses the Soul Summoning Ritual to bring back Jiang Yanli’s soul in his body and the Yanli runs to Jiang Cheng and says something like “A-Cheng it’s me.”. B) During the Wen Settlement days one morning Wen Qing walks into Wei Ying’s cave and finds him dead on his bed. I think he died due to an illness and Wen Qing wasn’t suprised to find him dead. - I think it’s something about time travel fix it

-The Jiang Family + Wei Wuxian talking about Jiang Cheng and Jin Ling’s weird naming of dogs and then they said something about Sect Leader Jiang naming the Sword suibian. Someone in the group said it runs in the family to which Jiang Cheng refuted it by saying his name and Yanli’s name were good names. Madam Yu just laughed and said that it was her who named them and not Jiang Fengmian.

• wei ying frequently sneaks out of lotus pier to practice since he has to pretend he is lacking in front of madam yu to appease both her and jc.

• Once when he went out his room floods and yzy blames him• One night wy overhear jfm and madame yu fighting. We later learn that, that day jfm bought a comb for yzy as a gift but couldn’t give it due to her pushing him further away from having any sort of companionship.

The problem is I only recall one scene: Lan Zhan is somehow at Qiongqi Path with Wei Ying & Wen Ning when the ambush happens. I think LZ is telling WY to concentrate and not lose control as they fight… When WN is made to attack Jin Zixuan, LZ steps in between and WN’s fist goes through “him” instead. I remember that there are scenes that they don disguise in public and some of their fans recognize them but posted their picture in twitter hours after the fans encountered them. There’s also a scene where wwx went to an orphanage and gives red packets to the kids for new years day. Wangxian also went to Jiang Yanli’s restaurant. A scene wherein the Jiang Family took a family photo wearing family sweater. At the end of the fic, wwx win a best actor award and Yu Ziyuan was the one who presented it. 48. I need help on finding a fic. It’s about how wei wuxian created his own sect from a past syndicate movements, he transformed it into a merchant/shops/silk road or something similar. He never went with the jiangs or any sects. When he was still on the streets he got betrayed by an “esteemed” cultivator because of false accusations (vendor told the cultivator that he caught wei wuxian stealing from him, but in actuality wei wuxian was at the wrong place at the wrong time), it was another kid that stole a toy from a merchant, if I’m not wrong. He was also a part of an illegal underground fights where he “won the bet” against the strongest fighter. He’s also claimed by wen qing to be the killer of a murder because the only one who knows around needles is herself, and she met wei wuxian and taught him the arts of needles. There’s also a wei wuxian - xue yang connection by said syndicate because the chang sect was a part of it. #9 of post

Imma just gush about my month of Wizard101 and how I finally got to a close “end” of the game.

24/12 Edit: Fixed some typos here and there and added some stuff.

07/09 Edit: KI decided to fully revamp Wiz city also changing some lore so the rating on that is outdated. Might also put my thought of the new Wiz City there once I’m through all the new content.

Arc 1 - Malistaire - 10/10

Prob my favourite.

The writing really ties in every world, even when you speedquest through it.

Contains a lot of my favourite worlds.

I’m still crying over Mali to this day...

(Old) Wizard City - 10/10

Literally the introduction to the game and the place I spent most of my time in when I was a crownless and membershipless young wizard.

Do you want to farm Nightshade or Kraken?

That graphic revamp really punched.

Had solid concepts, kinda threw them out of the window

I do not like the writing in a majority of the arc

I think I was so disappointed, because I hyped these worlds up so much, the expectations did not meet reality

The ending was a no no

Plot was barely engaging

I only pushed through this for the concepts of Mirage and Polaris and wanted to see where Grandpappy Spider went

Polaris - 7/10

You spent half of the time in the arcanum anyway

I don’t like Mellori, but that is just me

I will make a seperate rant on the ending, but no... I don’t like it at all and I don’t see Spider forgiving Raven as a good ending

Incoding might not have noticed what was going on, but Innocent and Ruthless definitely did.

They watched him fly out the door after getting off the phone with Decaying, and said nothing when he returned, hours later, his eyes distant and a faint smile on his lips.

They noticed that he still wore the ring his old morail had given him, playing with it when he was thinking; he never took it off, unless he was showering.

They saw the look in his eye when he reminisced on the days when he was a thief, eagerly going into detail about the ways Decaying had taught him to pick locks and silence alarms.

They heard the earnest emotion in his voice when he spoke about Decaying’s plight, about getting him some professional help for his memory loss.

They listened to the laughter that bubbled in his throat as he tried to explain the nonsense he had to listen to during his last visit, about Decaying’s theories on the Empress being a giant slug in troll skin.

And now, they shared a knowing look with one another as they caught their punk boyfriend staring out the window, playing with the ring idly as he got lost in thought. The goldblood sighed deeply, only to flinch, startled, as Ruthless flopped onto the seat next to him.

“I heard that, lad. What’s on yer mi√d?” He asked. Innocent leaned over the back of the couch, looking at the gold expectantly. Incoding looked between the two of them, then shrugged.

“N0th1ng. 1′m just-”

“… Thi√ki√g about Briga√?…” The other two chorused. Incoding paused, his mechanical eye whirring between the two of them.

“… Yeah. H0w d1d y0u-”

“It’s √ot hard ta figure out, Cody. Ye get this look in yer eye, a√’ ya start sighi√’, mopi√’ about the place like ye ca√√y thi√k of what ta do wit’ yerself.”

Incoding’s eye widened. “1 d0?” The other two nodded; Ruthless had a shit eating grin on his face, an by the crinkle of his face, Incoding could only guess that Innocent did, too. The goldblood felt heat rise in his cheeks and he glanced away, nearly striking Ruthless with his horns. “1t’s n0t l1ke… whatever y0u tw0 are th1nk1ng. He’s my best fr1end, and 1 w0rry ab0ut h1m.” He explained, his whole face turning yellow. He dared to glance back, in time to see the other two share a look. “What?” He asked, exasperated.

“… You look feverish…” Innocent murmured, chuckling.

“Aye, it’s ‘cause he’s lovesick, i√√it? He’s got the hots fer Briga√.” Ruthless chortled. Innocent nodded wisely. Incoding looked between the two of them incredulously.

“What? N0! 1 d0n’t feel red f0r Br1gan!” He insisted. They only looked at each other again, before staring at him with matching expressions that clearly said they didn’t believe him. He looked at them both, before he pushed himself to his feet. “I d0n’t feel red f0r Br1gan!” He repeated, a little louder than necessary, before he whirled around and stomped towards the stairs.

Ruthless and Innocent looked at each other as they heard the gold’s door slam shut.

Up in his room, Incoding sat down at his desk with an irritated sigh.

His thoughts suddenly stalled. Those… All sounded like dates he’d gone on with the other two, now that he thought about it. Was Brigan trying to…? Incoding pulled out his palmhusk quickly.

D: Wh_?

D: _h! _kay. What d_ we n–d t_ sp-ak ab_ut?

I: Me and y0u.

D: _h d-ar. Th- spawn _f whisp-rs ar- anxi_us ab_ut this. Th- m-n in th- sun hav- m- bugg-d, w- mustn’t sp-ak blatantly.*

*(oh dear. The spawn of whispers are anxious about this. The men in the sun have me bugged, we mustn’t speak blatantly.)

Incoding paused, closing his eyes and pinching the bridge of his nose. He snorted. Goddammit Bri, why does everything you say sound so fucking cute?

I: 0kay, f1ne. We can talk the0ret1cally, then. They w0n’t understand that.

D: Und-rst__d.

I: S0, the0ret1cally, when we hang 0ut, w0uld y0u c0ns1der s0me 0f the th1ngs we’ve been d01ng as… Dates?

D: th-_r-tically, y-s.

I: D0es that mean y0u’ve been ask1ng me 0n dates?

I: The0ret1cally?

D: Th-_r-tically, yes, I supp_s-.

Incoding’s blood pumper jumped into his throat. He swallowed.

I: S0… What are y0ur the0ret1cal feel1ngs f0r me? We hang 0ut 1n a pretty pale manner, but 1 already have Ru and 1nn0cent.

D: …

D: Th-_r-tically, my f–lings ar- n_t pal-. That ship has sunk-n int_ th- M_th-r’s maw and laid t_ r-st in th- st_mach _f h-r d-sir-s. Sh- slumb-rs with h-r jaws shut, s_ th-r- is n_ r-tri-ving it. But, sh- d_-s n_t s– th- ship that is r-ady t_ cast away, if and wh-n all cr-w m-mb-rs b_ard.*

*(Theoretically, my feelings are not pale. That ship has sunken into the Mother’s maw and laid to rest in the stomach of her desires. She slumbers with her jaws shut, so there is no retrieving it. But, she does not see the ship that is ready to cast away, if and when all crew members board.)

Incoding set the palmhusk on his desk, leaning back in his seat and staring at the ceiling. His blood pumper was throwing itself against his ribs and he took a deep breath to steady it. Why was he so excited? He finally picked up the palmhusk again.

I: What c0l0r 1s th1s the0ret1cal sh1p that’s ready t0 cast away?

D: … Th- paint is faint, as th- s-c_nd captain is afraid t_ mak- the c_l_r p-rman-nt until th- _th-r appr_v-s, but it is as crims_n as th- bl__d that hid-s fr_m th- -mpir-. A flaming c_ral that bubbl-s in a s-a _v-r wash-d by hu-s _f unr-quit-d f–lings, brush-d _n with th- bitt-rsw–t win- _f l_nging.*

*(The paint is faint, as the second captain is afraid to make the color permanent until the other approves, but it is as crimson as the blood that hides from the Empire. A flaming coral that bubbles in a sea over washed by the hues of unrequited feelings, brushed with the bittersweet wine of longing.)

Incoding read the message. Then read it again. And again. He felt like he couldn’t breathe, both excited and frightened and delighted and apprehensive, all at once. Sweat broke out on his brow and he found it hard to swallow. He jumped as the palmhusk buzzed again.

D: If th- s-c_nd captain d_-s n_t appr_v- _f th- c_l_r, th- _th-r is fin- with pr-t-nding it is _nly a wash-d _ut pink.*

*(If the second captain does not approve of the color, the other is fine with pretending it is only a washed out pink.)

I: …

I: The 0ther capta1n needs t1me t0 th1nk ab0ut th1s c0l0r ch01ce.

D: Y-s, captain.

Incoding stuffed the palmhusk in his pocket and rose to his feet. He paced his room for a minute, before he impulsively grabbed his headphones. He slipped out the front door; Ruthless and Innocent had disappeared from the living room, but he barely noticed as he ran to his motorcycle. He tore the protective sheet off and cast it aside. Sticking his headphones on, he turned on his loudest music and got on. He kicked the bike to life and roared down the road.

From the window, the other two watched him go, sharing knowing looks with one another.

Incoding squinted his eyes against the wind, feeling it blast his hair back. The music boomed in his ears, the bass rattling down his spine. The setting around him was a blur as he topped well over 90 miles an hour. He gunned the throttle, his hands vibrating apart on the handles. Over the noise and wind, his mind was swept clean.

Finally, he could think. And think he did, picking through his own mind like he was sorting boxes; he explored each thought and where it lead, before he carefully boxed it back up and set it aside, turning and opening the next one.

He rode for hours, going far out into the country side, before finally making a loop back. By the time he rolled into the driveway, his mind was made up,and his heart was settled. He pushed down the kickstand and put the sheet over his bike, giving it a loving pat.

As he walked up the steps, he turned off his music and pushed the headphones down around his neck. He stepped inside to see Ruthless, a glass of wine in hand, walking out of the kitchen, while Innocent lounged on the couch with a book. They both looked up as he entered.

“Guys, 1… 1 th1nk 1 l0ve Br1gan.”

Decaying leaped like a startled house cat as he heard a knock on his door. He grabbed his nearest knife and quietly stalked towards the door. He turned on a small monitor, which revealed a certain goldblood standing on his doorstep. Relieved, he tossed the knife away; it embedded itself in the wall, nearly hilt deep, as he unlocked the two dozen locks.

He finally pulled the door open, but only by a crack.

“Tw1l1ght r1ches are the 0nly r1ches ga1ned h0n0rably.” Incoding said automatically. Satisfied, Decaying pulled the door open further. He stood up, looking at the goldblood apprehensively. The air was tense, taunt like the string of a bow. Incoding took a deep breath, “Dee, 1…” He sighed, chewing on his lip as he tried to put the words in order. The other waited, trembling. He finally looked up again.

“The 0ther capta1n appr0ves. He wants t0 help pa1nt the sh1p cr1ms0n.” He said finally. Decaying blinked, confused, before his eyes widened as big as they could get.

“D_-s h-, n_w?” He whispered.

Incoding nodded, swallowing nervously. Decaying looked him up and down, before he reached out and grabbed the other by his vest, pulling them inside. He slammed the door shut and pressed them against it. Incoding struggled, ready to shove the other off and yell, when he felt the madman’s lips against his.

He froze up, his eye widening, his nails digging into the wood of the door, before he gave in. He slumped against it, grabbing the rustblood by the shoulders and pulling them close. They clung to his vest tightly, before he finally jerked back.

Both men were panting, staring at one another with wide eyes. Decaying looked the gold up and down, before his face split into a wide grin.

“W-lc_m- ab_ard, Captain.”

Maraming tao rin ang nagsasabi na ang panonood sa ganitong mga palatuntunan ay nagiging paraan nila sa pagtakas sa realidad ng buhay. Ang ilan ay ginagamit ito upang maisantabi ang kanilang mga alalahanin at suliranin sa buhay at magkaroon ng panandaliang kasiyahan o aliw. Ang ganitong pamamaraan ay masasabi natin na hindi naman mali, sapagkat minsan sa ating mga buhay ay marapat lang na magkaroon tayo ng pahinga sa mga pagaalala natin sa kasalukuyan at sa hinaharap, masasabi natin na ang pagtangkilik ng sa mga ito ay nagiging paraan para malabas natin ang mga pagaalala natin o maging 'stress-reliever' Pero kelan ito nagiging mali? Kelan ito nagdudulot ng pagkasira sa ating mga sarili? Kapag ito ay kumakain na ng marami nating oras at napapabayaan na ang ating mga responsibilad at gampanin. Dapat ay malaman natin ang wastong paggamit at pagtangkilik sa mga ito upang di tayo lamunin ng mga kolonyal na pala isipan at tuluyan na alisin sa atin ang ugat ng ating pagkamamamayan.

Ito ay 'sining' pero pag ito ay napabayaan pwede itong maging 'Killing'. Oo, Killing, Killing of One's Identity!

Mon avis

Ma première constatation à la découverte de cette sélection est une présence plus importante des éditeurs alternatifs par rapport aux 2 précédentes éditions. Nous avons donc une sélection dans l’ensemble plus exigeante. Ceci est un élément important à noter car bien qu’ils soient parvenus dans les années 1990 et 2000 à donner une impulsion nouvelle à la BD en parvenant à séduire un nouveau lectorat avec une production dite “roman graphique”, ils sont aujourd’hui à nouveau noyés sous la masse alors que les gros éditeurs historiques ont récupéré le genre. Il suffit de voir la majeure partie des prix décernés ces dernières années pour le comprendre ou plus récemment les 5 finalistes du Grand prix de la critique ACBD 2018. Une présence importante d’albums et éditeurs peu connus du grand public donc, mais qui sont rarement mis en avant ailleurs.

On retrouve néanmoins la plupart de ces 5 finalistes ainsi que les albums qui font parler d’eux depuis la rentrée en sélection officielle ici : La saga de Grimr, Opération Copperhead (Prix Goscinny du meilleur scénario), Ces jours qui disparaissent et Terre des fils de Gipi qui jusqu’alors rafle tous les prix sur son passage : Prix BD Utopiales 2017, Prix Ouest France Quai des Bulles 2017, Grand Prix RTL de la BD et Grand prix de la critique ACBD 2018. Il ne manque que L’aimant de Lucas Harari chez Sarbacane qui était le meilleur à mon goût.

De ce fait, je constate aussi un déficit de proposition pour certains prix, notamment celui de la meilleure série qui est naturellement celui récompensant souvent une oeuvre grand public.

Malgré cela, nul doute que chaque prix trouvera son lauréat alors je vous propose mon palmarès idéal.

Prix de la BD jeunesse : mon choix se porte sur 3 mondes chez Gallimard. Mais Imbattable de Jousselin chez Dupuis, déja Prix ACBD 2018 de la BD jeunesse est un fort prétendant.

Prix du patrimoine : mon lauréat idéal est Je suis Shingo de Kazuo Umezo au Lézard Noir. Mais Jojo de Geerts à beaucoup de chance afin de récompenser la mémoire d’un auteur discret disparu il y a peu.

Prix du Polar : mon choix irait incontestablement à La cité des 3 saints aux éditions Sarbacane même si The private eye m’a aussi beaucoup plu. Mais je pense que Jean Doux et le mystère de la disquette molle déjà prix Landerneau 2017 à plus de chance.

Prix révélation : je pense à Crache trois fois de Davide Reviati chez Ici Même ou bien Tes yeux ont vu de Jérôme Dubois chez Cornélius

Prix spécial du Jury : Scalp : la funeste chevauchée de John Glanton et de ses compagnons de carnage de Hugues Micol chez Futuropolis

Prix de la série : Demon de Jason Shiga chez Cambourakis ou bien L’Enfant et le maudit de Nagabe chez Komikku

Prix du public : mes choix iraient vers Emma G. Wildford d’Édith & Zidrou ou bien Black Hammer 1 de Dean Ormston & Jeff Lemire. Mais je pense que Dans la combi de Thomas Pesquet de Marion Montaigne, Une fille de Bastien Vivès ou Ces jours qui disparaissent de Thimoté Le Boucher. Ce dernier est un bon album mais il souffre à mon goût de trop de maladresses de finition pour en faire un prétendant sérieux.

Fauve d’or du meilleur album : Les Amours suspendues de Marion Fayolle chez Magnani, un album qui possède toutes les qualités pour ce prix : de l’audace dans l’écriture et la narration, une approche esthétique forte, un propos très maîtrisé.

Mais avec un président du jury tel que Guillaume Bouzard, on peut s’attendre à tout alors rendez-vous fin janvier pour le résultat !
