It’s a roller coaster of a drama and a long one at that, 50 episodes to be exact if you’re going to be invested into it. I really enjoyed the background storyline even if it got muddled around with a lot of cliche melodramatic nuttiness, ex love triangle, amnesia. It definitely could’ve been edited down especially with the back in fourth break ups among the characters. I was mostly interested in the main couple, there’s two other couples, especially one that gets really irritating. Main leads have really great chemistry though. Overall it was decent enough. Recommend to fast forward through some scenes though.

Ok so I have two requests ideas, you can choose to do one or both if you like :3

The first request: CaitVi x reader where they’re in a poly relationship but the reader becomes a little insecure because they’ve been spending more time with each other and leaving the reader out sometimes (whether this is due to work or maybe as they’re on dates). They don’t realise this at first but when they do they feel bad and try to make it up to the reader. Basically a bit of angst to fluff and it can either be based on the show or a modern au ❤️💙

The second request: Sevika x reader where the reader is talking to Sevika about their current hyperfixiation druring their break or something and she acts like she’s not interested in listening, but then she’s like “no wait continue” when she hears the reader stop. They can be in a relationship or not but still have feelings for each other and haven’t confessed yet 💜

The illumination of the room was dim, two mellow oil lamps on either side of the room brightening up the space ever so slightly. Sevika was sat comfortable on her chair, further away to the wall than you, hands grasping a book which lay stable on her lap, her eyes grazing through its sentences.

You glanced over at her, lifting your head from your own nature book rested on the dining table that you had been studying, found neglected deep in a decrepit library you had passed through, and took in her features. She was more at ease than usual, tension relieved from her brows as the ambience softened her face. Shoulders slackened, as she would lift her hand to puff on her cigarette in short bursts, before eventually letting the smoke ripple through the air.

“Guess what I’ve just found,” You spoke, eagerness coating your voice as you grew excited from new facts you had read in your book,

“Yeah?” She answered, eyes still pointed at the pages she held, the response working as a cue that you were to continue on with your sentence.

“I’ve found another symbiotic relationship between species! Crocodiles and the bird species Plovers.”

“After they feed, crocodiles will lay on the riverbanks, hold their jaws open to signal the Plovers to enter their mouths,” You read on the paragraphs from the book, switching between the drawn illustrations of the crocodiles and the birds, before continuing, “The bird will then sit inside their mouths and pick out the remaining food stuck on their teeth!”

You felt your excitement build, enthusiastically word vomiting about this relationship, “The crocodile will not eat the Plover, it’s a mutually beneficial relationship where the crocodile gets its teeth cleaned, helping ward infection from the raw meat, and insects resting on its skin,”

“Yeah,” Sevika interjects, in between your words,

“And the Plover gets free food! Plover’s are basically tiny, flying dentists in the bird world and they charge exclusively in left overs” You chuckled, amused by your own jest.

“That’s really interesting, darling,”

“It gets even better,” you continued, “Then if the Plover senses movement or sudden sounds of potential danger, like other predators, the Plover will use its warning call which the crocodile heeds to return into the water and get away from threats! How amazing is that?” You were beaming, eyes glimmering as you read through the pages.

Finally turning your head to look at Sevika’s reaction, noticing her eyes still glued to her book as she didn’t respond before realising you had kinda just kept talking and not thinking you may have been irritating her, with your useless factoids. The pull on your lips dropped slightly, biting the inside skin of your lip as you thought that she probably could not care less about this, reading her own book full of her own interests.

You began to enter your own head, remembering all the times people had been dismissive or simply not listened as they had their own thoughts going on, oftentimes making you feel like a silly burden for blurting out such things. Tilting your head back to your book, Sevika’s voice broke out through the silence,

“Why did you stop talking?”

Looking back at her, her face was turned to you, brows lifted in curiosity,

“I just… figured you weren’t listening or, I don’t know, didn’t want to hear about it,” You muttered, tone loaded with your unease, as you fiddled with the dried skin on the rims of your nail beds.

Sevika looked over at you for a few seconds, before her features slackened and she closed her book, folding the edge of the page as a placeholder, before getting up and walking closer to where you sat at the table.

“I’m sorry,” She sighed, sitting next to you and wrapping her built arms around your shoulders, “I promise I was listening, was just enjoying hearing you talk about it,”

You looked up at her, meeting her eyes tentatively as she lifted the corner of her lips to smile at you, “I was just kinda thinking how if we were the animals you’d be the Plover,” she chuckled, pressing her lips to your forehead.

You gasped, mouth slightly ajar as your own lips tilted into a small smile,

“Ugh, you’re probably right, too.” You sighed, not impressed.

“Don’t stop talking about that stuff just because I’m not responsive, okay? It’s cute when you ramble,” You fell into her hug, her hand rubbing at your back, before grabbing the side of your face and bring your lips together into a gentle kiss, aware of the way you might still be feeling.

You grabbed onto her, pressing your lips closer against hers.

“Thank you,” you smiled,

“I also found the dentist thing quite funny,”

When Sebek enters a battle, he says, "I'll swallow you whole." What does that mean? Where does it come from?

Lilia explains that Sebek is "known throughout Briar Valley for his gargantuan appetite," and we receive several reminders throughout the game about how much he eats:

Sebek talks about having "only three extra servings at lunchtime" and both Silver and Deuce comment on him being a big eater (Silver calls him a bottomless pit).

He also has lines about needing "something with meat" and, to the prefect, he says that he is always hungry no matter how much he eats: "You and Grim are starting to look pretty appetizing, you know..."

As for why Sebek has this character train, he explains that his mother, "has some of the most potent occlusal force in our family--ah, that is, biting strength. It's a Zigvolt trademark."

While his father is a human, Sebek's mother is "a creature of the night--that is, a nocturnal fae," but there might be more to his lineage.

Floyd, Rook and Leona all refer to Sebek as a crocodile. This may be hinting that his family is a crocodile-based sort of nocturnal fae, much in the same way that Lilia seems to be based upon bats?

And crocodiles can't chew, they can only swallow food whole.

And all of this may have something to do with why he says "I'll swallow you whole" before battles! It is a literal translation of his original line :>

Bonus: Amazing artist Egophiliac has a delightful comic about Sebek's human dentist father meeting his nocturnal fae mother, which ends in a drawing of a crocodile and one of those little birds that clean crocodile teeth, which is 1) adorable, and 2) a great theory for why Sebek's father was made into a dentist.

Colloquially known as "crocodile birds," they are also called "Egyptian plover" birds.

And "Sebek" (also called Sobek or Sobki) is an ancient Egyptian deity depicted with a crocodile head who was said to have eaten at least part of Osiris.

So it seems that ancient Egypt, crocodiles and eating people are all being woven into Sebek's character, culminating in Sebek using "I'll swallow you whole" as a battle cry :>

1: I don't think there's any bird that does that with American alligator. I think that's specifically a nile crocodile and plover thing.

Old sketches of Sebek’s parents! I was heavily inspired by egophiliac’s design for his parents and how his dad (being human) looks more like Sebek and his mom (the fae) is not at all green ꒰ᐢ. .ᐢ꒱₊˚⊹ though now that Sebek’s grandfather had been revealed I might do a bit of a redesign or adjusting when it comes to both their designs

When it comes to thought process:

- Plover is a bird species that has a mutual relationship with crocodiles—they’re the ones that cleans their teeth!

- Mara is derived from the Old English “mare” which comes from a demon that torments people with nightmares

Headcanons I have for them:

- Pav talks A LOT while mara does most of the listening

- Theyre both considerate towards each other whether its personal space or opinions

- Pav enjoys tucking her hair from her face and cradling it with his hands

- Likewise mara holds his gently

- Pav's too quick to jump to mara's defense despite her being capable of doing so

- Mara finds pav a bit of a conundrum bc he's the only person that ever treated her gently

- She's the commander of the knights, and as a zigvolt she's mostly seen as an immovable rock

If I ever was into making oc's and shipping them with canon characters, I would definitely make one named Plover and have them be with Crocodile.

An egyptian plover, also known as the crocodile bird, is known to have a symbiotic relationship with the large reptiles by picking their teeth clean after they eat.

I'm just imagining Croc coming home from a battle, ruffled and a bit bloody, and Plover immediately coming over to clean him up while telling him how handsome he looks all roughed up.

Another weird bird to add to Croc's collection, if you will.

Just realized Wattrel's catching could be seen as going hand and hand with real life relationship between a plover and a crocodile as plovers "clean the teeth" of crocodiles. Neat. Obviously Skeledirge's flame resembles a bird too.

To go along with Augmen de Lute, this is Vanellus Plover! He's acting as Augmen's (very temporary he insists) second in command for the Arrowpoint Pirates.

A once important accountant, secretary, and scribe for Sir Crocodile, Plover finds himself without a home when the warlord is arrested. Since he was travelling with Augmen at the time, the hospitable captain offers him a place to stay, and while reluctant to stay on the loud party boat for much longer, he takes him up on that offer.

Plover would not call himself a pirate, he doesn’t even really like being out at sea.

Nevertheless he finds himself as the acting second in command aboard Captain Augmen de Lute’s ship. Originally he was an important secretary, accountant, and spy for Sir Crocodile. After the warlord’s sudden arrest, Plover finds himself alone. His new task is to keep Crocodile’s confidential documents and accounting information safe from Marines and pirates alike who want those invaluable files, as well as trying to keep his various business deals accounted for and afloat.

Plover was traveling with Augmen at the time of Crocodile’s arrest. Augmen was escorting the secretary as a favor to the now former-warlord, and now Plover has nowhere to safely go. Augmen offers to let him stay aboard the ship, due to both his hospitality and his knowledge that if anything happened to Plover, he would draw Crocodile’s ire. Augmen also finds Plover to be an interesting traveling companion, something he is always in desperate search of, and enjoys teasing the uptight secretary.

Plover is confident, secretive, uptight, and always working. Even on Augmen’s ship, he’s often squirreled away in his cabin, typing away on his typewriter at whatever classified business he has and making calls on the Den Den Mushi. While accustomed to the refined high-society gatherings of the business world, he’s unprepared for Augmen’s more wild and hedonistic parties. Augmen tries to get him to relax and enjoy himself, though Plover is resistant, claiming to prefer work to enjoying such vices. He does, overtime, become more willing to have fun and indulge in his own interests. He loves expensive clothing, books, and bedding.

Fun Facts: -His name and design are a reference to the Egyptian Plover, a species of bird associated with stories of birds who clean crocodiles' teeth -Doesn't usually go by his first name, Augmen has also given him the nickname "Feathers", he dislikes it -He’d rather stay in for the night with a rare manuscript and an expensive bottle of wine than join in on Augmen’s fun, but he’ll let himself be dragged out on occasion. -He’s secretly a bit of a romantic at heart, he buys trashy romance novels at ports when no ones looking -He appears calm and collected, but he’s got a big temper, making him easy to rile up -He’s quite skilled in espionage, fencing, and book balancing -With no devil fruit powers, he protects himself with his elegant rapier and acrobatic abilities, he can handle himself well in a fight -He’s met Augmen a few times before joining his crew, but never stayed aboard long. He always thought of the man as reckless, lazy, and unserious as a captain. But through his time with Augmen he’s witnessed how dedicated and hardworking he his for his crew, underneath the care-free demeanor. He’s often exasperated with the captain but has gained a lot of respect for him.
