guys, i just had the greatest fyokuni idea

second gen azure king kunikida who was recruited into doa by fyodor bc he found him interesting and pretty. kunikida requested for him to be a part of his plan. fyodor (whos super down bad for him) allowed him and told him to infiltrate ada to watch them (bc he somehow knows that atsushi, the key to the book, will join in the future)

traitor kunikida where he convinced himself that he was an idealistic and 'on the good side' kinda person so ranpo couldnt figure him out. ranpo had suspicions but he shrugged it off because kunikida proved himself to be the one who has the most uhh morally white perspective (i forgot what it's called) (i mean he is but he only ever wants to protect those people who are worthy of his protection)

and then ch 117 happens, but kunikida didnt actually disintegrate. it was an illusion.

sometime later after they 'defeated' fyodor, a funeral was held for all the people that died. one of those was kunikida's.

but unbeknownst to all of them, fyodor was watching from a nearby rooftop.

"youre dead?"

beside him was kunikida doppo, who replied: "a shame that my part in all these is done, really."

"of course it is, darling. you've done enough. i wouldn't want you hurt anymore."

"hm, then i'll resume with the azure king business. do you think nikolai would help me?"

"of course he will, he likes you more than me. that itself is surprising because he always expressed his 'admiration' towards me."

"ha, you call that admiration? then what do you call what you have towards me?" kunikida asked even though he knows the answer

"love, darling. i love you."

kunikida smirked, stood up and tilted fyodor's chin (with his finger) to make him look up at him.

"i love you too, dear."

i was randomly going through ships on the ship fandom wiki

and i found: Fyodor x kunikida aka FyoKuni

at first I was appalled because "these two fuckers would hate each other" but then i read some post about these two.

and oh god, fyodor could SO manipulate kunikida if the two of them were in some sort of a relationship. it wouldn't be healthy, yes, but who says thats a requirement. fyodor could quite literally manipulate kunikida into becoming a new azure king. the relationship would be extremely one sided and abusive, but from a story maker pov its absolutely genius. maybe wouldn't work under the specific circumstances the bsd universe is going at right NOW but I've been thinking about some AU lately and i think this would fit PERFECTLY in.

the thing about fyodor and kunikida is that they both have the goal of achieving a perfect world. the difference is: kunikida knows its impossible, he just keeps trying anyways. but fyodor is convinced he can achieve the impossible and will do anything to do so.

If fyodor could somehow convince kunikida that he can make his ideal world a reality, he'd have him wrapped around his finger. kunikida becoming a sort of replacement for ivan to fyodor, just without the lobotomy part LMFAO.

anyway I'll cut myself off here before i start saying things that make zero sense, BUT I WILL PROBABLY FOLLOW UP TO THIS IN THE FUTURE

Kunikida at this point is finishing up for the day.

He goes to the meeting room expecting it to be empty, Fyodor isn't exactly known for his patience after all.

Imagine his surprise when he finds that the russian is sat perfectly still, an empty cup and plate before him.

"it appears that I have been outmatched, Dazai."

Ah. he thinks, no one can live up to Kunikida's hospitality.

Sumire to Himawari AU: I imagine this AU to be more shoujo manga style, so I got the idea that Kunikida is (unaware that he is) the school idol, nicknamed 'The Violet-Scented Sunflower Prince' bc why not. Then comes mysterious transfer student Fyodor, whose looks resemble violets and who simply adores sunflowers... Then it turns out they're childhood friends! They called each other Himawari and Sumire! AND Fyodor returned to Japan exactly to meet Kunikida again?! (insert fluttering flowers here)

I agree so hard, with this AU we have to go Shoujo TO THE MAX!!! It's the only way that it can be done, the only way that it makes sense ... we need the flower backgrounds and the sparkles ...

terrible awful fyodor who is manipulative and psychologically abusive when he and kunikida are in high school.

eventually kunikida escapes because fyodor has to go back to russia and kunikida goes to college and it is a healing time because how would fyo ever find him again. He meets Chuuya eventually who’s going through training to be a part of the special investigations department of the police (Dazai is his partner) and kunikida is a junior high math teacher.

And eventually there’s some missing children (including Kunikida’s students) and things that trigger the horrible reminder of Kunikida’s past
