saw your tags on your ch 4 fuzz and family post and i wanna know about the small things you added in that you like 👀 please talk about them

Well I'm glad you asked! You will regret this! (Joking)(only cuz I won't stop talking when given the chance)(you're getting the director's cut over here)

The big one is Emmet taking over the battle. I just really like the image of Emmet pinging smth is up with Ingo and just smoothly slipping in front. Wanting to write that like one second interaction was one of the first things that got me to continue Fuzz and Family.

Another thing is the comment about Nosepass not wanting to evolve. That is what I like to call an Easter egg for me and is a reference to another of my fics, Multi-Car Train. I like to scatter references to my other fics for fun and mainly for me so I don't mind if other people notice them. Just know that if smth in a fic sounds like another thing I've written, it's most likely on purpose.

Also, in case it wasn't obvious, I am obsessed with Probopass's Mini-Noses and need to share that they're called Mini-Noses whenever I can. They're so cute I love them so much. That's prolly the main reason that Probopass made an appearance in ch4. That and cuz I thought Probopass made a good teammate to Galvantula.

The last thing I really like is Ingo's comment about Machop being small. Just a half asleep, barely present Ingo mumbling "Too small to carry me." is really funny to me. Also Emmet's "Like a sack of potatoes." line is really funny to me too.

Everything else and exactly why I like what I mentioned I can't really put into words. It's just the vibes, yknow? Ch4 is just such a soft and slow scene that really gets to me.

people on t /etc who feel that their facial hair is too light for their liking: just for men is not a difficult product to use and is like $15 and comes in many shades and is worth trying, just get or steal a spoolie brush too, don't use the brush they give you. brown mascara or eyebrow gel is also wonderful. (<- even to test run before dyeing, but either of those options will also make the hair look slightly less fine too.) even if you think your facial hair is too patchy to try or your mustache is too fine or whatever. trust me. trust me.

Speaking of baerenwald/forest families, were they sold in America back in the 80's?

I believe they did have a US line called Peach Fuzz? forest families I think was the EU name, baerenwald being the main german company name that started it. The parent company was Simba toys I think and they had a merger with another company or 2 so it's kinda all confusing and I'm not sure the specifics 100%. But I do believe they were the main competitor along with MapleTown for Sylvanians and known in US. I dont have personal knowledge on this tho so dont quote me LOL

Welp. Lying here in bed. Have to be up in just under five hours to start getting ready to go to work trainings. What fun to get to spend the last three days of summer break sitting in a mega church because our new high school auditorium isn’t quite complete, or if it is then the new gyms are currently housing the things needed in other parts of the new building. So here we are, making a deal with a local church to use their facilities, because mega you know, so they have massive amounts of space. Two 2.5 hour sessions each day. 15 total hours. Just so I can be done with the 14 hours needed for my para certification as required by the state. Are we three years into this now? 14x3=42? Will I be at 42 out of the required 70 hours by Friday afternoon? It’s the middle of the fucking night I don’t care if my math is right.

Really just ranting cause today was honestly the last day of summer that I could have had to myself, no hubs, no little, and hubs had appointments and little was a brat this morning. Just, great way to end things. I don’t think I got a whole day to myself off from them all summer. And now we’ll be back to school and never a break from the kid.

That’s really resentful of me and I probably shouldn’t be saying it. But gotta get it out somewhere.

Back to ranting about work. So because we’re utilizing the mega church, it’s actually out of our town so trying to reasonably spend the hour we’re getting for lunch is going to be stupid. Maybe in protest I should sit in the stupid church parking lot and write smutty fanfic. Hit the Starbucks up the street for lunch and then back to the mega church to write smut.

Or maybe that’s angry 2AM brain. Guess we’ll find out at lunch time tomorrow.

The Royal Family — S/T (Cardinal Fuzz / Echodelick / We, Here & Now)

Don’t confuse The Royal Family with the garage pop band that gigged around Edmonton in the 1960s. This regal troupe lives in the now. They’re a Toronto-based psychedelic supergroup comprising personnel from various outfits, such as ROY, Possum, Wine Lips and The John Denver Airport Conspiracy. Such a multifarious origin means that their influences also arise from multiple sources. Raga, drone, kosmische, chanson and baroque elements all wind their way into the band’s sound. The Royal Family’s technicolor tapestry spreads across multiple branches of a vast psychedelic family tree, the luminescent roots of which originate from various points around the globe. They fuse all these influences together with their own whimsical notions, brewing a heady concoction perfect for mind expansion.

The Royal Family’s chameleonic approach to psychedelia reveals itself immediately. They kick off their debut album in a raga mood with “Morning Song,” a swirling whirlpool of chiming acoustic guitar, a meditative drone and a sitar melody courtesy of Jordan Sosensky. The Indian-tinged harmonies circle gently like slow motion turbulence that peppers an otherwise sonorous river. The languidly moving eddy currents mirror the refrain “take your time, it’s all you have.” That phrase is the perfect summation of the spirit of the album, which unfolds with an unhurried grace. As the track climaxes, various percussion implements enter at all angles evoking the ecstatic revelry of Amon Düül’s most delirious emanations.

With a tongue-in-cheek wit, The Royal Family satirizes Canada’s symbolic subservience to the monarchy with its name, while simultaneously embracing the country’s anglophone and francophone roots with its lyrics. “Le Ciel Bleu” and “Chocolat” showcase chanteuse Astrid VanRuymbeke’s delightful French singing voice. These two tracks, along with “La Maison Du Bonheur” emphasize the band’s baroque leanings, employing flute, melodeon, xylophone, chimes and other unconventional instruments. The Royal City really lean into their baroque side on “For the Birds,” which contains vocal harmonies eerily reminiscent of The Left Banke’s “There’s Gonna Be a Storm.” It’s the gentlest track that the band offers and includes contributions from Toronto folk mainstay Hieronymus Harry.

The back half of the record is a song cycle that narrates the stages of a caterpillar’s metamorphosis into a butterfly. It flows with a lysergic stream of consciousness logic and incorporates multiple genres within its kaleidoscopic corpus. The propulsive “Chrysalis” gives a nod and a wink to Kraftwerk and Neu! while “Metamorphosis” and “I’m the Wind” tug at threads previously loosened by Olivia Tremor Control. It’s the two-part “When I Was a Butterfly” suite where The Royal Family lets its freaky wings unfurl. The song is a culmination of all that came before, the perfect denouement to this cosmic opera.
