i don't think i've added yet but i would talk to someone who actually speaks the language. i think if you're using google translate better to not use it at all (at least with latino james pls free my man)

regulus black has devoted his entire life to being on the ice. it just so happens that a particular someone gets a kick out of lingering in the stands during his rehearsals. one thing is for sure, don't mess with regulus on the ice. and if he shows up at barty crouch jr's hockey game and proceeds to corner him outside the locker rooms? it's nobody's business but theirs.

I SOOO badly want to get into Snape's gang but like where do I start? For the life of me I couldn't find the ancient source material that is fqj's (was too lazy to type out the whole username) first post about it

Oh god I would have no idea how far back that was, for me it started with his whisperings in my ear (DMs going months back). Quibbler (aka Alexander, the other half of everyone's favourite ship quibblernox) was working on these characters for ages before I started posting about them because he roleplays them with one of his friends, so they both are the real masterminds (despite the conspiracy that I am that friend?), I just use their headcanons or rip them to shreds if I have my own thoughts that go off-path.

The basic characters that we both post about as being Snape's Gang are Severus Snape (obviously), Charity Burbage, Aurora Sinistra, Edmund Avery Jr and Igor Karkaroff. There's also Bruce Mulciber Jr and Wilhelm Wilkes but I don't particularly post about them and Quibbler's posts about them are minimal because they're not his faves. Alex is going to be working on an explanation post of who everyone is eventually in the undeterminable future, but you can search our tags for any characters that you're interested in particularly!! If we're also being technical, Evan Rosier was friends with Sev at Hogwarts and is part of Snape's Gang in canon, which leads me on to.....

My pirate fic WIP a vow out to the dark includes all of Snape's Gang as Evan's crew, which can be a fun intro to them whilst including the core Marauders characters to ease people into them. It's on pause at the moment because I was working on Christmas fics and then a one-shot for Lily's birthday but should come back as soon as I'm done with that!

I also have a short one-shot about Aurora Sinistra and Severus Snape called next to infinite skies and they're one of the ships we both post about called starrynight! It's a lot less daunting than a whole 5 chapter fic I guess and is a small insight into Aurora!

Other ships include seabunny (Igor Karkaroff/Charity Burbage), crownest (Igor Karkaroff/Severus Snape), wiseprince (Edmund Avery Jr/Severus Snape) and cosmicbunny (Aurora Sinistra/Charity Burbage). Quibbler and our lovely friend @ecstarry also post about wisestar which is Edmund Avery Jr/Regulus Black which can also be a good gateway, Elena has a cute fluffy 1k one-shot here which is worth checking out. If you search any of the ship names on either mine or @futurequibblerjournalist blog then you'll have lots of posts!!

Before I forget because AAHHHHH I can just keep yapping istg, Alex has this yearbook art that contains the Marauders and Snape's Gang so check that out to see the vision!!! This is pretty much how I imagine them, and if you like visuals then my tiktok account is orchideous.nox and is linked in my intro posts, I've made a couple of edits (it's a lot of Igor).

If you have any questions about Snape's Gang in general or specific characters then please feel free to send them to me or Alex, my ask box is far emptier than Quibbler's so it won't disappear into the abyss, but he does have more knowledge so I sometimes fact-check with him anyway. We both love yapping as you can tell, it's a problem, but in 2025 we both really want to get more people into these characters because they're so fun and the stigma from using Sev's name is so bullshit!!

thank u @sommerregenjuniluft and @moon-seas for the tags! im finally getting around to sharing a snippet, and despite it not seeming like it just yet, it is a little something for a jeggy fic idea i have swimming around in my brain!

Sure, there was the occasional helping hand of either Barty or Evan, but when Barty’s idea of helping a friend out is dramatically lounging back on Walburga’s black, velvet settee, an unlit joint hanging from his lips, there was only so much physical help Regulus received.  Barty never cared, that much is true. Where Regulus put on a mask around his family, Barty did the opposite. He’d lash out, a fox-like grin on his mouth, as he did just about anything to drive his father to the brink of insanity. It worked, though. Regulus cannot recall the last time Barty had to speak to his father. It came at a price, a rather hefty one, which meant Bartemius Crouch Jr. had been, for a lack of better words, forcibly removed from ever receiving a single penny from Bartemius Crouch Sr. Of course, Barty shrugged it off, saying something along the lines of not wanting that kind of dirty money, but deep down, Barty buried his secrets and truth, letting it crack his sternum with the sheer mass of unhealed trauma. Barty had never been too good at hiding his pain, no matter how hard he tried. He’d play it off as some sort of joke, refusing to draw attention to his misery because he was cool like that. However, Regulus is more than capable of reading a room. It stems from the years and years of attempting to read his parents and his parents’ circle; it was a means of self-preservation. But Regulus wouldn’t pry, not until Barty was ready. Evan was a bit better about it, or at least he tried to be. His demeanor was a bit rotten, not something that’s uncharacteristic of Evan Rosier, but his typically sullen morbidity appeared to flare up into something a bit more ghoulish. His sunken eyes and pursed lips became more prominent, and Regulus is stuck on the fact that it’s because he stared far too long at the brutally horrifying portrait of Druella hanging just above the second floor landing. The quietness Evan exhibited and practiced was a reflection of the years he spent being silent, still not finding a moment to own up to his own voice and verbalize his every waking thought to a crowded room. That’s where Barty and Evan differ.  It’s not just chance, but a fact that Evan despised Barty for it at first. Somewhere along the way, Evan became a little numb to Barty’s antics, maybe a little fond even. Not that Regulus would ever try to point that out because, despite Regulus’ general disdain towards life itself, he valued his life a little more than to fall victim to Evan’s sadistic fascination of scalpel-carving. You know, any normal person’s favorite pastime.
