*Syverson POV*
It’s certainly difficult to leave the cool air conditioning of the house to head to work when the weather forecast predicts another scorching Texas summer day where the humidity makes your clothes immediately stick to your skin. It’s nothing I’m not familiar with having grown up in Texas my whole life and then spending two tours in the desert before returning home. You’d think I would move somewhere cold, but the south is all I know. I certainly couldn’t leave Nana and Pawpaw either. After finishing my last tour, I came home and bought an empty house in disrepair and spent the better part of a year ripping it to studs and rebuilding. I was really struggling with returning to civvy life after spending the majority last ten years in the sand pit. Originally, I had just planned to fix up my house so that it was comfortable and hell, livable, until I discovered what I wanted to do outside of the army. Remodeling my house taught me that I really enjoyed working with my hands and building things. I guess you could say taking a broken, outdated home and making it beautiful and functional again really resonated with me on a deeper level. I was lucky to leave the army with only some mild PTSD and nightmares. Hell, I had all of my limbs and was alive which is more that I can say I deserve. Staying busy helped me cope so after working towards getting my contractor’s license, I decided to start my own company, Syverson Contracting. It was still a small operation with only about seven employees including my cousin Alex, but we got by just fine.
After getting ready for the day and sipping on my cup of coffee on the porch with my German Shepard, Aika, I put my boots on and headed to the truck for the first day on a new worksite. Like usual, I called Nana on the way to work to check in. My grandparents lived about fifteen minutes away from me, but I still called to check on them every morning and make sure they’re doing alright. As I drive, Nana starts chattering all about how her friend’s granddaughter is single and I should be looking for a good woman to marry and settle down with. We’ve had this conversation umpteen times before but I can’t seem to get it through my stubborn grandmother’s head that it’s useless. I’ve been burned by too many women in the past as a young and naïve man and I just don’t want to bring someone into all of my problems. Yes, I go to therapy at the VA to help with my PTSD but it still doesn’t stop the sleepless nights and nightmares that immediately send me back to wartime in the desert. As much as I’ve always wanted a partner in life; a beautiful wife to come home to, a couple of kids and the proverbial picket fence, I just don’t see how it could be in the cards for me now. I’m too fucked up. Nana of course would never understand and I certainly don’t want to drag her into it so I just listen to her drone on and on about some chick named Susanne and then tell her that I’ve got to go.
After speaking with my team and giving instructions for the job, I went to Alex’s flatbed truck and we all started unloading the materials. The home we were working on was owned by a young couple expecting their first child. It was a simple job, replacing the flooring throughout the house, building a shed in the backyard for lawnmowers and other garden tools, and repairing some dry rotting siding near the fireplace. The great thing about my team is that I could get them started and didn’t have to micromanage them. After several hours in the walloping sun, we all broke for lunch. After cooling off and reenergizing at the local Wendy’s, we all headed back to the house to continue our work. Since I was used to being in these weather conditions, I decided to head out toward the edge of the woods in the backyard and start building the garden shed. When I went to lift up some of the plywood, I was beyond shocked to find a shaking and filthy little tan dog who appeared to be injured and terrified.
“Shit. Heya buddy, I ain’t gonna hurt you. It’s alright pal. Let me take a look atcha.”
As a true animal lover, I was immediately enraged. Someone had intentionally abused this poor defenseless animal and either abandoned it or it was able to limp off to the woods. The little male pup, couldn’t be older than a year was bleeding from four different wounds on the side of his sand colored body. The second I scooped him up, he was whining and cowering in fear.
“You’re alright little man. I’m gonna take care of ya. Let’s see if we can getcha to a vet.” I call Aika’s vet office and unfortunately there is no answer. Janet must still be taking her lunch break.
I see Alex walking outside to grab some of the flooring to bring inside and yell for him to come here.
“What’s up, Sy?”
“Just found this little guy beat to hell by the woods.”
“Jesus. What kind of bastards do that to an animal?” Alex ponders as he was looking at the injured and sick animal.
“I’m gonna see if Dr. Robinson’s in. Hopefully I can get the little feller in today but I need you to run the site until I get back.”
“No problem, Sy. Didn’t she just have another kid? I’m not sure if she’ll be there but I know Jessica said something about them hiring a new vet so I’m sure someone will be around.”
The veterinarian’s office was only a fifteen-minute drive from the site so after giving the poor thing some water, I loaded him up and drove there.
On the ride over, he seemed to relax a bit and not shake as bad as he had been and I wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
“Oh Austin! How good to see you! Did your Aika have an appointment?”
“Hey Ms. Janet, is Dr. Robinson in? It’s not for Aika. I found this guy by the woods and he’s been hurt something awful.”
“Heavens to Betsy! Poor little angel! Elizabeth is out on maternity leave but we’ve hired a new vet. You'll like her. Let me check with her and see if she can work you in.”
“Yes ma’am.”
A few moments later, Janet scurries back and directs me to an exam room with the little guy. I guess I could have just dropped him off and went back to work but my heart just couldn’t stand it. Hell, I fought to bring back Aika from Afghanistan because of how quickly I fell in love with her and she’s been the best dog ever. I can’t imagine leaving this little guy to potentially die from his injuries without a friendly face nearby.
*Knock Knock!*
The door opens and my heart stops at the same time. The most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen enters while carrying a clipboard and a stethoscope. She’s a petite little thing only reaching to my shoulders with long blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail, and crystal blue eyes that feel like they see straight to my soul.
“Hi, I’m Dr. Emma Miller. I hear you found this little guy in the woods?”
“Uh, yes ma’am. Hello there, I’m Austin Syverson. Yeah, I uh, I found him and he looks like he’s been abused.”
She smiles brightly and shakes my hand when I introduce myself and the moment I touch her soft skin, I can hardly think straight. Why the hell do I feel so jittery? It’s just a beautiful woman Sy. Get ahold of yourself. I tell her exactly what I found and she quickly starts examining him while speaking to him in a sweet voice.
“Hi sweet boy. You poor thing! I’m so sorry someone has been treating you so horribly. We’re going to take care of you, yes we are. You’re going to be good as new! I’m going to give you some fluids because you’re dehydrated little guy. Once we get some fluids in you, I’ll try giving you some food. How about that little man?”
I can’t help but smile as she baby talks to him while inserting an IV in his tiny arm and starting him on fluids. She examines the wounds more carefully before retrieving a pair of things that look like tweezers.
“If I had to guess, I would say this guy is about 10-12 months old. I suspect these wounds on his side are from a BB gun. Would you mind holding his head? I’m going to give him some pain relief in his IV to help him relax and then try and clean the area and see if I can remove them. We’re a bit short staffed at the moment with Dr. Robinson out and two of our techs calling in sick so I’ll need your help if that’s okay?”
“Fucking BB guns.” I murmur under my breath. Damn some people are just the worst.
“I’m happy to help.” I tell her quickly and take up residence next to the puppy’s head to hold him still.
“Thank you.” She replies quietly while concentrating on rubbing some brown cleaner across each wound.
I can’t help but watch her as she focuses on removing all four bb’s and placing them into a metal bowl. She’s so effortlessly beautiful and incredibly adorable as she works on the dog who seems to be feeling so much better with the medication and fluids that he has received. She sews up each wound quickly and efficiently. The pup seems to be almost as captivated by her as I am. When she’s done, he even attempts to wag his tail for her. Dr. Miller explains that he will need a flea and tick bath before she can dress the wounds because he has several fleas on him and she doesn’t want them getting into the incisions.
“Mr. Syverson, I hate to keep you from your day. Would you want to just come back for him in a little while? I have to do an exam on a yorkie with diabetes but then I’ll bathe him on my break and get his wounds dressed.”
“Sugar?” I ask.
“I’m sorry, pardon?” She responds a bit flustered.
I smirk as I see the blush tinting her cheeks. “The yorkie. Is it named Sugar?”
“Oh! Yes! Someone you know?”
“My grandma’s neighbor, Mrs. Clayton, has a yappy little yorkie named Sugar and I believe I overheard that it has diabetes.”
“Yes, well that would be her.” She smirks back.
“I don’t mind waiting with the little guy. Is it alright if I stay and help you bathe him? Since your short staffed and all?” I ask with my most charming smile.
Her beaming grin tells me all I need to know. “Sure, Mr. Syverson. Can you give me about twenty minutes?”
“Only if you’ll call me Austin or Sy. Mr. Syverson is my pawpaw.” I say with a grin.
“Alright Austin. I’m going to leave you with some wet food on the table for this little fellow, but can I trust you to only give him small amounts slowly? We don’t know when his last meal was so we don’t want to overwhelm his belly.”
“Yes ma’am.” I mock salute at her with two fingers and she giggles when she leaves the exam room. I swear the moment she did I was a goner. I need to find a way to hear that giggle more.
“Well little guy, it looks as though we are helping each other out, huh? You ain’t the only one broken and battered.” I say as I give the dog a small plastic spoonful of wet dog food that he almost swallows hole.
“What should I call you?” I hypothesize aloud while the pup continues eating sloppily from the spoon I’m holding.
“Since Dr. Miller here patched you up, how about Miller? We can call you Mills for short. What do you think about that? I like it.”
Emma finally returns to the exam room and is happy to see that the Mills has eaten the food I gave him and kept it all down. Due to the food, medications, and fluids he received you can already tell a slight difference in his demeanor.
“Let’s get you all cleaned up, shall we?” She says while carefully picking him up and carrying him to the back of the building before pausing. “You coming, Austin?” She asks.
God, I hope I will be soon. I think before I rush over to open the exam door for her and follow her to the back.
“You know, I’m breaking rules by letting you back here so don’t make me regret it.” She says to me teasingly as she carefully sets Mills into a large stainless-steel sink and begins to bathe him with medicated shampoo.
“You don’t have to worry about me, Dr. Miller.”
“No, if I have to call you Austin, you have to call me Emma. It’s only fair.”
“Well, Emma is a beautiful name so that will be easy. If you don’t mind my asking, where are you from? We haven’t had a new vet in town since Dr. Robinson came and that was probably ten years ago.” I watch as Emma carefully removes three ticks from his fur and want to outwardly cringe. Ticks are the devil’s bug.
“I’m from Alabama. I’ve only been in Texas for about a month but just started working in the office this last week.” She tells me as she very carefully continues to clean Mills.
“What brought you all the way out here? Did your husband get transferred out here or something?”
She side eyes my question with a smirk. “Nope, just the job. No husband or kids. No boyfriend either in case that was your next question.” She remarks sarcastically.
My stomach flips with excitement even though she caught on to what I was really fishing for.
“Well, I’m certainly glad you’re here. For Mills’ health needs of course.” I add quickly while gesturing to the pup.
“Mills?”
“Yup. Short for Miller, after the doctor who’s taking care of him.”
Her cheeks blush bright red as she runs a flea comb gently through his fur. “Well aren’t you just the charmer. I’m surprised Janet didn’t warn me about you. She’s been clueing me in on pretty much the entire town.”
“Ah, good ole’ Janet. She knows there’s no need to warn you about me. She’s known me since I was in diapers so that should tell you enough about my character if she didn’t warn you off.”
“That’s good to know. So, are you planning on keeping little Mills? Or are you wanting us to adopt him out once he’s all healed?”
“Oh, I plan on keeping him if that’s alright. As long as my girl, Aika, is okay with it I’ll keep him. Can’t imagine sending him off to a stranger after what he’s already been through.”
“Well, if your girlfriend isn’t on board with keeping him just let us know and we can see about arranging a foster for him until he’s able to be put up for adoption.” She says while stepping a little further away from me.
Girlfriend? Oh dumbass, you made her think Aika is your girlfriend.
“Aika’s my German Shepard. I don’t have a wife, kids, or a girlfriend either.” I said poking fun at her sarcastic comment from earlier.
Emma grins but just continues to rinse Mills off. She notices that one of his paws looks a bit swollen but she can’t find any cuts or wounds so she thinks it may just be bruised from trying to run from his abuser.
Once we get him dried off, I hold his head again for her to clean and dress the wounds on his side and I’m dreading leaving.
“So, I’ll need to see little Mills in 3 days to check his wounds and remove the stitches. I need you to clean and redress the wounds one time a day like I’ve shown you. I’ve got his medication and antibiotics here and a couple of cans of that wet food that you fed him earlier. I recommend continuing to feed it to him slowly so that his tummy doesn’t get upset. Nobody likes waking up to a dog throwing up or having diarrhea in the house. If he does okay with that food we can discuss increasing his food intake at the next appointment. Do you have any questions, Austin?”
“Just one. Can I get your number, Emma? You know, in case I have questions about your prodigy, Little Mills, here.” I add with a smirk.
“I’m sure you have the number for the vet’s office.” She smirks.
“That I do, but I’d like yours as well, please.” I ask with my most convincing smile.
“Alright, alright. Just don’t advertise it. The last thing I need is people like Mrs. Clayton calling me after hours.” She concedes with a giggle and I can’t help my boisterous laughter at the last part.
“Nobody wants someone like Mrs. Clayton calling them all the time. That woman would talk to a wall just to hear her own voice.” I hand her my phone and she quickly types her number and I save it under “Mills’ Future Mama” and smirk to myself.
I pay and make the next appointment for Mills and then head to the local pet store for a collar, leash, dog bed, and more dog food. Luckily, Mills sleeps on the ride home and I can’t decide if he’s finally realized I’m not going to hurt him or if he’s still drowsy from the effects of the meds he received. I head home and send Alex an update that I’ll be back at the site tomorrow.
When I get home, I bring everything inside before carrying Mills over to Aika and carefully introducing him. After the initial excitement wears off, Aika heads outside to the backyard and I’m relieved that she seems to accept him. She’s always been such a good dog so hopefully I can rely on her to show our little rookie around and teach him our routines.
I go about showering and eating dinner, but I can’t seem to get my mind off Emma. I obviously want to play it cool but she has infiltrated my mind to the point where I just can’t think of anything else. I know this is a bad idea but I can't stop myself. I decide to take a picture of Mills in his little bed and text it to her.
Sy: <attached image>
Mills’ Future Mama: I’m glad to see my namesake is adjusting to his new life. I take it that his sibling accepts him?
Mills’ Future Mama: Also, you’re lucky I opened that picture text. Typically receiving a picture from an unknown number is never a good thing 😖
Sy: Sounds like your mind is in the gutter or you have some seriously unhinged acquaintances, darlin. Aika has accepted him into the pack without hesitation.
Mills’ Future Mama: More like, men are nasty and will take any opportunity to send an unsolicited dick pic to even the most unwilling recipients. Glad you found the little guy. He seems right at home.
Sy: He is. You should come visit him sometime.
Mills’ Future Mama: Why would I do that when he’ll be in my office in three days?
Sy: Maybe to see his owner?
Mills’ Future Mama: I’d imagine his daddy will be the one bringing him back to my office though?
Sy: Alright then, how about I make you some dinner at my place? Say tomorrow at 5pm?
Mills’ Future Mama: Make it 5:30 and I’ll be there. Just know I’ll be sending your information to my best friend in case you try and murder me.
Sy: What type of people were you surrounded by in Alabama? 🤨
Mills’ Future Mama: I was actually in a super safe town. Just watch too many crime shows to make careless mistakes.
Sy: Smart lady. You can tell whoever you want, darlin’. I’ve got nothing to hide and I appreciate a woman who has some self-preservation skills.
Mills’ Future Mama: Trust me, I’m very skilled at many things. 😜
Sy: Damn woman, I’m trying my best to be a gentleman here. It’s not fair to tease me.
Mills’ Future Mama: Not teasing. Just stating facts. 🙃
Sy: Tomorrow can’t get here soon enough. Here’s my address. Any food allergies?
Mills’ Future Mama: Nope! I’ll bring dessert. I’m interested to test your cooking prowess.
Sy: You’re killing me.
Mills’ Future Mama: See you tomorrow!

every once in a while i like to poke my head into "anti [x]" tags just to see what the other side thinks. recently i was looking through "anti ao3" and found a really funny post claiming that ao3 is not anticapitalist, but actually the Definition Of Capitalism, bc it relies on volunteer labor while supposedly having the money to pay a staff.
oh, honey.
but i am not going to make unsubstantiated claims on the internet, no, and this gives me an excuse to look at ao3's whole budget myself, which i've been meaning to do for a while. these numbers are taken from the 2022 budget post and budget spreadsheet.
ao3's total income for 2022, from the two donation drives, regular donations, donation matching programs, interest, and royalties was $1,012,543.42. less than $300 of that was from interest and royalties, so it's almost all donations. and that's a lot, right? surely an organization making a million dollars a year can afford to pay some staff, right?
well, let's look at expenses. first of all, they lose almost $37,000 to transaction fees right away. ao3 and fanlore (~$341k and ~$18k, respectively) take up the biggest chunks of the budget by far. that money pays for, to quote the 2022 budget post, "server expenses—both new purchases and ongoing colocation and maintenance—website performance monitoring tools, and various systems-related licenses."
in some years, otw also pays external contractors to perform audits for security issues, and for more servers to handle the growing userbase. servers are expensive as hell, guys. in 2022, new server costs alone were $203k.
each of their other programs only cost around $3,000 or less, and otw paid around $78k for fundraising and development. wait, how do you lose so much money on your fundraising?? from the 2022 budget post: "Our fundraising and development expenses consist of transaction fees charged by our third-party payment processors for each donation, thank-you gift purchases and shipping, and the tools used to host the OTW’s membership database and track communications with donors and potential donors."
then the otw paid an additional $74k in administration expenses, which covers "hosting for our website, trademarks, domains, insurance, tax filing, and annual financial statement audits, as well as communication, management, and accounting tools."
in case you weren't following all of that math, the total expenses for 2022 come out to $518,978.48. woah! that's a lot! but it's still only a little over half of their net revenue. weird. i wonder what they do with that extra $494k?
well, $400k of it goes to the reserves, which i'll get to in a second. the last $93k, near as i can tell, gets rolled over to the next year. i'll admit this part i'm a little unsure about, as it's not clear on the spreadsheet, but that's the only thing that makes sense.
the reserves, though are clear. the most recent post i could find on the otw site about it were in the board meeting minutes from april 2, 2022: "We’re holding about $1million in operating cash that is about twice the amount of our annual operating costs. There is another $1million in reserves due to highly successful fundraisers in the past. The current plan for the reserves is to hold the money for paid staff in the future. It’s been talked about before in the past and we’re still working out the details, but it’s a rather expensive undertaking that will result in large annual expenses in addition to the initial cost of implementation."
woah....they're PLANNING to have paid staff eventually! wild!
so let's assume, for easy numbers, that the otw currently has $1.5 million in reserves. before we even get to how to use that money, let's look at the issues with implementing paid staff:
deciding which positions are going to be paid, because it can't be all of them
deciding how much to pay them, bc minimum wage sure as hell isn't enough, and cost of living is different everywhere, and volunteers come from all over the world
hiring staff and implementing new systems/tools to handle things like payroll and accounting
making sure you continue to earn enough money both to pay all of the staff and have some in reserves for emergencies or leaner donation drives
probably even more stuff than that! i don't run a nonprofit, that's just what i can think of off the top of my head.
okay, okay, okay. for the sake of argument, let's assume there is a best-case scenario where the otw starts paying some staff tomorrow. how much should they be paid? i'm picking $15 an hour, since that's what we fought for the minimum wage to be. by now, it should be closer to $20 or $25, but i'm trying to give "ao3 is capitalism" the fairest shot it can get here, okay?
ideally, if someone is being paid to help run ao3, they shouldn't need a second job. every job should pay enough to live off of. and running a nonprofit is hard work that leads to a lot of burnout--two board members JUST resigned before their terms were up. what i'm saying is, i'm going to assume a paid otw staff is getting paid for 40 hours of work a week, minimum. that's $31,200.
at $400,000 per year, the otw can afford to pay 12 people. that's WITHOUT taking into account the new systems, tools, software, etc they would have to pay for, any kind of fees, etc, etc.
oh, and btw, if you're an american you're still making barely enough to survive in most places, AND you don't have universal healthcare, vision, or dental. want otw to give people insurance, too? the number of people they can pay goes down.
it's. not. possible.
a million dollars is a lot of money on the face of it, but once you realize how MUCH goes into running something like the otw, it goes away fast.
just for reference, wikipedia also has donation drives every year. wikipedia, as of 2021, has $86.8 million in cash reserves and $137.4 million in investments. sure, wikipedia and ao3 are very different entities, but that disparity is massive. and i should note that if you give $10 to wikipedia they don't give you voting rights, i'm just saying.
by the way, you may have noticed that i didn't mention legal costs at all here. isn't one of otw's big Things about how they do legal advocacy?
yes, it is. they have a whole page about that work. and i can't for the life of me find a source on otw's website (and i'm running out of time to write this post, i'll look harder later), but i am 90% sure i learned before that most, if not all, of otw's legal work/advice/etc is done pro bono. i've also seen an anti-ao3 person claim their legal budget is only $5k or so, but they didn't have a source. but keep in mind that if they don't have a legal budget, all the numbers above stay the same, and if they do, there is even less money available for paid staff.
you can criticize ao3 and the otw all you want! there are many valid reasons to criticize them, and i do not think they're perfect either. but if you're going to do so, you should at least make sure you can back up your claims, bc otherwise you just look silly.
#ao3#otw#anti ao3#bc i want them to see this#otw board#ao3 discourse#ao3 donations#wren wrambles#that post was so unserious i died#if it was more recent (its from mid-july) i wouldve replied directly maybe#but i didnt want to drag the body of a 6-note post into the light OR attack the op directly so#also! if i misunderstood something pls let me know im doing my best

God Is An A****** And Other Life Updates
Dear Future Husband,
2024 was supposed to be my "year of health." Or at least, that's what I decided towards the end of 2023 when everything I ate was upsetting my digestive system and I was convinced I had developed some weird tumor or something. But suddenly, out of the blue, I had health insurance (I don't think I've told that story yet....) and so it seemed like 2024 would be the year I could just get myself in order.
Well, it's now December 2024 and I can confidently tell you the lie detector determined THAT was a lie.
Not only was it not my year of health, it has in fact been quite the opposite.
At this point I don't know if I'll ever get back to that draft about the beginning of this year, so I'll just tell you - in January I had a bad fall and broke my arm, which led to surgery, PT, and essentially three months of being unable to work.
Which leads me to include that 2024 was also supposed to be my year of financial stability.
Oh, if you could hear the raucous laughter in my mind right now.
Why did I ever assume Hashem would finally grant me one good year? The entirety of my relationship with Him is built on the confidence that I'm his punching bag.
Why do I even still allow myself hope? It always just ends in heartbreak.
So January I injured myself.
February I had surgery.
March I had PT.
April I finally started driving again, and I was back at work but still couldn't do heavy lifting which severely crippled my abilities to do my job.
Now, back in January, a few days before I fell and maimed myself, I got a speeding ticket from a highway speed camera that was outside of a work zone but claimed to be in a work zone. I was just trying to keep up with traffic and I have no idea how nobody else got ticketed. Maybe cuz they weren't in the lane closest to the camera.
Well, I alerted MotherLivelyHeart to the ticket before it even arrived in the mail because I'd seen the flash when I was driving, and had full intentions of paying it.
But then I was out of work for like three months and all the funds I'd had up until that point dwindled while paying bills so that when the ticket came in the mail, I couldn't afford the $30.
Based on our conversation about it, I was under the impression MotherLivelyHeart was going to cover it, since the car is in her name (I think I've discussed this nonsense), and I'd pay her back when I was working again.
But come MAY and it's still not paid and now they've increased the fine.
Great.
So since I was working again, I paid all $42 of it.
And now it's December. And it's been SEVEN MONTHS.
SEVEN MONTHS where we've had radio silence, as far as I'm aware.
And NOW, SEVEN MONTHS LATER, they've sent us a message in the mail that the car has been flagged because of the citation in January/May and with the flags on the car we can't renew the license plate or something.
WTF.
Oh, but wait, the story gets better, because of course it gets better.
I discussed briefly in my last post that I was going away for a month and a half this summer. I can't go into the details of why I went away, but what was supposed to be 6 weeks ended up being 12 weeks.
That's 12 weeks of bliss away from MotherLivelyHeart but also 12 weeks of not working.
So in total this year, I've worked approximately 26 weeks. At part time wages. For a business that my boss can't decide if she wants to keep open much longer, so inventory is dwindling and business sucks because we never have anything in stock.
FML.
I've been working for this company for about 8 years as a 1099 employee, except a 1099 is not an employee, it's an independent contractor... but I'm an employee. And basically the only employee. Which I just found out makes my 1099 filing essentially illegal, since there are some benefits that employees are supposed to have which is why it's a different filing of w2.
FML.
But getting back to the whole "I basically work full time in a part time job position" thing... I didn't make a lot in 2023. And with bills to pay, I didn't have a lot in January to begin with, but with my January wages I should have had enough to pay my taxes.
Except that in January, the beginning of my new year of financial stability, Hashem caused me not just an injury but a work-stopping injury. Which means I not only had to stop working while still paying bills, but the money that I had originally allotted for my taxes was not only not there, but also not enough.
So FMFL.
But wait, it gets better.
I created an account with the IRS's payment portal (id.me or whatever) several years ago and I signed up using my home phone number.
Well, BigSis was the one who paid the bill for the phone line and at some point she stopped paying it, which meant that when I tried to log into my IRS account to see what my options were or try to make a partial payment, it wouldn't accept my information because I couldn't confirm my phone number because I no longer had access to it.
Great.
So I tried to do the other things it wanted with photos of my state license and passport and it stuck me in a loop and wouldn't accept either of them.
GREAT.
So there I was, injured, in pain, not working, not able to keep most foods down, my tiny allotted funds dwindling, and not able to log into my IRS account to figure out what to do.
So yeah, it ended up getting back-burnered.
I know it's stupid. I knew it was stupid then and I know it's stupid now.
Especially because last year I made barely $11k at that job and the IRS wants $1,100 of that. Which is to say, they want more from me than I made in a single month.
FML.
I kept getting these update letters in the mail of the IRS adding on interest and increasing the amount, and I somehow hoped that Hashem would show me the way to be able to afford to pay it.
But no.
Because FMFL.
So now I've been notified by the IRS that they want to seize my property.
Over $1100.
But also, what property? I have nothing.
Literally not even the car I drive is in my own name.
So, just to recap:
I've worked approximately 26 weeks this year (part time financially, full time stressfully)
I now owe $1200 to the IRS that I don't have, and that's just for the 2023 taxes, not even including what I'll owe for this year
The car may not be able to be renewed because of the flag for the speeding ticket I got in January that I already paid off and that I've heard NOTHING about for SEVEN MONTHS
Should we keep going? Sure, let's keep going.
SPIRITUALITY
After a nightmare of a year, I can't really explain why but I had some kind of spiritual awakening at the beginning of 5785. I davened more this past R"H and Y"K than I have the past like 10 or 15 years combined, including during the Aseres Yimei Teshuva and through Simchas Torah.
And I decided this would be my year of Bitachon.
I was riding a spiritual high and I had more calm and positivity for about a month than I've had in a long time.
Spoiler alert: that's gone.
One of the things that affected that deeply was that I had one sefer in particular I decided would be my guide this year for all things Bitachon. And less than a month after deciding that, the author of that sefer was diagnosed with Stage-4 Non-Smoker's Lung Cancer.
Do I feel like my personal bad mazal rubbed off on him by mere association? 100000000000000%
WORK
Because things have been weird at work and I'm not sure how much longer my boss will be keeping the business open, I starting looking for a new job.
Using my new found bitachon, I discovered two businesses in my neighborhood that were hiring for a position I could do in my sleep, and were willing to pay well were open.
Such mazal! Hashem must be working His magic!
I had a phone meeting with the first company that was excited to have me in for an interview. We arranged a date and time, and then that day a few hours before I got a text that something came up and they'd like to reschedule.
That was.... a month and ten days ago and I've heard nothing.
The second company called me for an in-person interview which I went to erev Shabbos and thought it went really well. They said they were hoping to hire before Chanukah and they'd be in touch.
That was.... a month and nine days ago and I've heard nothing.
Now, for the second company that could have been my bad. It's been so long since I've had an interview that I forgot the etiquette to send a thank you note afterwards. I also answered the question "what do people critique you the most for" honestly by saying time management. Though I'd think that showing up 10 minutes early to the interview itself would have been enough to assuage that concern. I also did explain that it's something I'm working on and the rest of the conversation seemed to go really positively so I guess it's just Hashem giving me hope again just so He can pull the rug out from under me. Again.
MEDICAL
I started writing about this in its own post and still might but let me just go over the highlights here:
I haven't had insurance for like 5 years.
When I signed up for the insurance originally I selected a DO for my Primary Care Physician because I want a doctor who will treat the whole person and understand how different aspects of the body interplay with each other when it comes to diagnosis.
Well, fast forward to me suddenly having insurance for the first time out of the blue motzei yom kippur (if that wasn't a bad omen....), the DO I selected five years ago is no longer accepting new patients.
Fine. I'll look into new doctors. Whatever.
Except, no! Because then I broke my arm.
And did you know that before surgery you need a workup done by your PCP?
And did you know that if the doctor listed on your insurance isn't accepting new patients, you have to run around like a nut last minute to find someone who will do a workup so you can get emergency surgery?
In the end I went with a local urgent care that could handle that kind of thing.
Fun.
And when I was finally clearheaded enough after the surgery (which took over a month, mind you) I scheduled a new patient appointment with the other DO in the same practice as the first one I'd chosen (five years ago). She was booked out until October.
Fun.
So, fine, I scheduled for October.
Then I went away for the summer and in September I got a voicemail from the doctor's office that the doctor would be leaving the practice at the end of October and did I still want a new patient appointment with someone I wouldn't be able to see past that month?
Mygod.
I went back and forth with the staff of this place several times before we decided I'd go with the new patient appointment anyway to at least get preliminary stuff out of the way and start a series of blood tests to try and figure out what the hell is wrong with me physically.
I had one appointment with her, got bloodwork done, and October was over.
My files were switched to another doctor in the practice who could read the results of the blood tests and order more if needed. Which she did.
And all the results have come back inconclusive.
Because getting an actual answer is just too much to ask for, I guess.
Oh, and also the doctor I'm working with now is about to go on maternity leave and once she comes back she'll be working from a new location that's almost an hour from where I live.
FML
And that's not even everything. That's just what I have the energy to write right now.
I'm so tired of this life.
I'm tired of having hope and being let down constantly.
I'm tired of financial stuff being the literal bane of my existence.
I'm tired of being tired.
I'm so over this life that my brain has just stopped recording information.
One of the things the doctor set me up with in October was a collaborative care thing associated with the medical practice that's supposed to help get me on a good path mentally, so I've been working with a therapist, but we've met maybe 4 times and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be getting out of these sessions other than explaining to her how my circumstances just absolutely suck over and over again in more detail.
Except that every week or two weeks she asks me how I've been since our last session and I literally can't remember what I've done or how I've felt.
I'm just so over all of this nonsense.
I keep doing things to try to give myself purpose in this world, like what I was doing over the summer, or reconnecting with this high school friend that I've been spending time with on the weekends lately, or helping out old acquaintances who just had babies, but all I feel like I'm doing is creating a larger pool of people to mourn for me when I'm gone because none of them know the real me.
I'm not suicidal but I do just wish I'd die already.
I don't see the purpose in any of this life.
I'm stressed beyond stress and Hashem isn't helping.
I feel like I've been set up for failure and if failure is my goal, then I'm the most successful failure that's ever existed.
I'm still broke.
I don't know if I'll have a job in a few weeks.
The IRS wants to seize my nonexistent property.
I may not have a car to drive soon.
Nobody knows what's wrong with me medically.
Every goddamn tap in my apartment has issues (literally my shower, toilet, bathroom sink, and kitchen sink all have problems).
My ceiling is still open to the elements. (yep, that's still a thing)
Oh, and I lost 40lbs this year between January and June, and gained basically all of that back since September.
FMFL.
Can it just be over already?
Sorry, I'm not in a good place right now, my dear future husband.
I mean, you're a fantasy anyway, so who even cares.
-LivelyHeart
Every day in harachaman in bensching we say
"וְאַל תַּצְרִיכֵנוּ ה' אֱלֹקֵינוּ לֹא לִידֵי מַתְּנַת בָּשָׂר וָדָם וְלֹא לִידֵי הַלְוָאַתָם, כִּי אִם לְיָדְךָ הַמְּלֵאָה הַפְּתוּחָה הַקְּדוֹשָׁה וְהָרְחָבָה".
"Do not make us dependent, Hashem our God, on the gifts of flesh and blood or on their loans, but only on Your full, open, holy, and generous hand."
And yet... Hashem has not provided for me, despite my begging and pleading. Despite my davening and working really hard on bensching after every meal.
We also say "פּוֹתֵחַ אֶת יָדֶךָ וּמַשְׂבִּיעַ לְכָל חַי רָצוֹן" both in bensching and in davening - "You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living being."
And yet, my desire is to not be in debt with the threat of losing things. But somehow, here I am, and where is God?
So maybe random strangers are the tools of Hashem, and relying on you all is really me relying on Hashem "working in mysterious ways" or whatever.
I don't know, but if you care and have anything to share, I have a cashapp: $HaShemshouldblessyou

Can we pretty please have a little snippet featuring Unfathomable-humanformer!June who was once Megatronus, the Fallen Star? Who dreams the endless dream but ever so slowly is starting to wake up?
They who were of Primus but have dug down deep and found a place to belong in a wild, chaotic and savage world?
Can we hear of Jack, the last gift Solus ever gave?
(Ohhh, Unfathomable!June that was once Megatronus Prime would fuck up the bayverse, and it wouldn't be surprising if a child of Solus had a gift of prescience.)
_____
“They don’t like them,” Mikaela murmurs low in his ear, hiding it as a kiss. They’re pressed side-to-side and no one comments on the teenage lovebirds. “Watch close. Don’t be obvious.”
After the initial panicking and screaming, the company picnic is in full swing as the entire base was transported Elsewhere. There’s no difference between the sky and the leaves of the trees: so enormous that they dwarfed the aliens, the inky-black foliage is dotted by lanterns of starlight.
Mrs. Darby and Pilar are present along with the Foundation personnel. Some are human. Some are humanoid. Shadows not matching and shifting features, the subtle flicker of limbs in the corners of his eyes. Sam’s wholeheartedly sure that the other contractor’s cloth face is not a mask. The stitched smile and gleaming buttoned eyes are too unnerving with the yarn hair piled high.
A few of the personnel don’t care. A speaker that rivals the Optimuses’ height that moves as if gravity has no hold on their body, layers and layers of beautiful, rich robes with a veiled face, and the smell of license and decaying flowers. A living automaton, a self-declared Clockwork, taller than humans but shorter than Bumblebee, with several sets of multi-jointed arms and a gilded bird cage for a torso with live birds, gears clicking and chimes softly twinkling with birdsong from every movement.
Sam sees it, or he feels it. The lines are drawn in the sand. The tension beneath the calm picture. He thinks Agent Fowler knows it, too.
(They’re so careful, Pilar and Mrs. Darby with a more human, softer face upon their metal bodies, but neither of them leaves the area, nor lets the kids out of sight.)
To a future of cooperation and security, the Head Speaker had said, and the buffet tables appeared without warning. Food for everyone, regardless of species.
But to secure what, he thinks.
________
Sam jumps out of his skin when he sees a sparkling -dark-framed and dark wings, it can only be Jack -in his designated space in the base.
Blackbirds tilt their heads in his direction and there's an uncanny awareness in those beady eyes. The sparkling whistles and clicks like a bird and a few flap over to perch on his shoulders, chittering and croaking with affectionate pecks on the metal.
"I like how you sound," answers Jack. “I like the songs.”
Sam has no idea what he’s talking about, but he isn’t surprised at this point. Their “new” arrivals aren’t as straightforward
He peeks over a wing to see what the kid is drawing and it’s a mashup of things. Serpentine bodies and massive tentacles from a half-unfinished page with massive hands, different ones, rising between them. Bright armor with a burning sword. A black dog with burning coal for eyes. White trees full of eyes and porcelain masks upon feathered faces and bejeweled beaks. A girl set aflame in a yellow-red wash with a white-blue heart. A cross between monster and man, spider body taking several pages with limp hair pooling on piles of skulls and a wide jaw dripping venomously green.
“Jeez… You’ve been seeking to watch horror movies, haven’t you?”
The boy doesn’t answer for a beat, humming a tuneless song and those birds stare too closely at Sam. Jack sighs and turns to look at him with a mild expression, audials flicking.
"One day," Jack intones slow and sure, and Sam sees strange shapes flickering across his optics. "They will all wake up."
His hair raises and he's beyond unsettled, but the sparkling goes back to coloring the fantastical creatures and makes no mention of Sam leaving him.
__________
“Why are you here?” He asks Mrs. Darby, who’s puttering around in his kitchen.
“Visiting,” she replies airily. A pot boils on the stove and it smells delicious. His stomach growls, and her optics soften as she turns to ladle him a bowl. “Besides, your Bumblebee is getting worried. You haven’t returned for some time.”
It’s a stew and it’s brightly purple. He tucks into it because the Foundation will immune anyone to stranger things. “I’ve been busy with school.”
It’s not a lie. The words don’t sound hollow.
“Of course,” she hums and her words are gentle. “Education is very important.”
_____
“Parents worry. It’s their nature to fret over their children.” Mrs. Darby says, looming over his shoulder as he does math homework. “And they’re afraid.”
His skin pricks with goosebumps and he can hear his parents through the open window with their usual arguments over the garden. Sam looks up and stares into that knowing face for a long moment.
She hums and he feels rattled by her words, “That answer is wrong, Sam. Look here…”
His heart stops racing as she goes over formulas in an easier method to understand and she stays until he nearly finishes the last question.
“Are you afraid, too?” She breathes.
__________
(Mr. and Mrs. Witwicky have reasons why the Autobots should stay away. Some legacies are far too heavy to carry down.)
__________
(Some things change, but some remain the same.)
__________
Hanging in his peripheral vision is the indistinct form of Mrs. Darby. Her gaze is heavy and pitiless as he writhes in agony and terror beneath Megatron's and Scapel's hands.
< Here lies a choice. > The words vibrant in his head clearly, rattling his bones and his organs quiver. < What will you give to the fire to change this? >
He chokes on his tongue, words faltering, as the probe slithers its way down his throat and up his sinuses. The sinuous, metal feelers leave an icy-hot trail of its pathway within his body. Sam watches the very same sigils that haunted his waking moments flicker and sear over her frame and time simply stops-
Her jaw drops to the floor and within the chasm of her throat is the sharp cold of the ocean, the massive pressure squeezing his chest. Sam's plunged into the fathomless abyss and down in its depths, he sees life-
He sees the inevitable shifts of the world: the byplay between magma and lava on the mantle and forming the new crust, ocean currents cycling and cycling as it breathes and breaks across landmasses, and he's swept away in the flow of water, carried away and submerged into the patient rivers that carved down mountains. He seeps into the sand, melts across a hot sidewalk, and freezes in the massive hailstorm. He's the clouds and the rain and the steam that condenses on a mirror plane during a hot shower, the snowfall that sublimes in the desert, the nourishment of root systems, the glide over gills, the vapor on a living creature's exhale, the blood that pumps through hearts and muscles and sinew and coats teeth when a maw breaks flesh, and the groundwater that finds its way to geysers and hot springs.
Sam is everywhere and nowhere, and he can only drift farther a-way f-
rom him-
self
-and he's cast into the ocean of deep space, the void entwined in the very fabric of the cosmos. He's the ice and gas and clay and dust and dust and dust and dust-
(-and the cycle restarts.)
He sees the death of countless stars, beyond beautiful in dying throes, and the birth of new galaxies between breaths; consuming black holes, the return to nothingness, and the ignition of raw power that sparks life; undiscovered, distant constellations so far, yet so close, their entire stories played in front of him in a bittersweet symphony; the origin of them all spanning across eons and the bizarre, untold connection between Cybertron and Earth, even in this dimension-
Sam is suddenly slammed back into his body, small and definite and contained in a physical form, weeping between the return of bodily agony as the music of the universe croons in his head and beckons him back into its never-ending dance of Eternity. A cool voice weaves into the tattered, leaking edges of his mind, buffering it against the cosmos, the sporadic jumps of the Allspark are made far tamer-
< I am the Shadow to the Light. The Void that walks upon this earth. The Madness that is within All. I touch everyone and everything and none can deny me and mine own. >
(and through his eyes, the Ancient Primes watch the alternative counterpart of their brother, the Fallen- a twice-fold god in another universe, the Shadow of the Thirteen and closest to the Unmaker by Primus; the Tempest, Typhoon, and Tsunami by Earth, champions a mortal with the bloody blessings of Daughter).
< Behold, little fragment, an act of sacrifice and salvation. >
Sam witnesses a firestorm bloom before him, raging bright and furiously consuming, and he knows nothing else but the songs of the Allspark.
______
(Mikaela Banes screams to an uncaring world and a Primordial beyond her universe is the one that listens.
Mikaela Banes dies as she swallows the storm of a starseed and is reborn to match the soft fury burning in her mouth, the star-forge of her bruised, aching heart, and the brutality of a god that was hailed as the Undefeated.
Fate sunders and the future falls apart and resets.)

Avoid These Common Mistakes When Hiring Farmhouse Construction Services
Building a farmhouse is a dream for many, but turning that dream into reality requires careful planning and the right professionals. If you're searching for Farmhouse Construction Services in Noida, choosing the right service provider is crucial. Many homeowners make avoidable mistakes that lead to delays, budget overruns, and dissatisfaction. In this article, we will highlight the most common mistakes to avoid when hiring farmhouse construction services and why Yug Facilities is the right choice for your project.
1. Not Researching the Construction Company
One of the biggest mistakes people make is hiring a construction service without proper research. Checking the company's reputation, experience, and past projects is essential. Without due diligence, you may end up with poor craftsmanship, missed deadlines, and hidden costs. Yug Facilities has a proven track record in delivering high-quality farmhouses in Noida, ensuring reliability and professionalism.
2. Ignoring Proper Budget Planning
Many homeowners underestimate the costs involved in farmhouse construction. Without a clear budget, expenses can quickly spiral out of control. Before hiring Farmhouse Construction Services in Noida, outline a detailed budget covering materials, labor, permits, and contingency costs. Yug Facilities provides transparent cost estimates, helping you stay within your financial limits.
3. Not Checking Licenses and Certifications
A reputable construction company must have the necessary licenses and certifications. Hiring an unlicensed contractor increases the risk of poor workmanship and legal complications. Always verify the credentials of the service provider before signing any agreement. Yug Facilities is fully licensed and adheres to all building regulations in Noida.
4. Overlooking Contract and Agreement Details
A well-drafted contract protects both the homeowner and the contractor. Many people make the mistake of signing contracts without reading the fine print. Ensure the agreement includes project timelines, costs, materials, and warranty details. Yug Facilities offers comprehensive contracts that clearly define all terms, ensuring no hidden surprises.
5. Choosing Price Over Quality
While cost is an important factor, opting for the cheapest service provider can be a costly mistake. Low-cost construction often results in substandard materials and poor workmanship. It is better to invest in a company that offers quality construction within a reasonable budget. Yug Facilities strikes the perfect balance between affordability and superior quality.
6. Not Defining Design and Requirements Clearly
A lack of clarity in design and requirements can lead to miscommunication and dissatisfaction. Work with a construction service that provides design consultation and ensures your vision is executed correctly. Choosing the Right Contractor for Roof Repair in Sarasota: A Complete Guide
When your roof is damaged, choosing the right contractor for roof repair in Sarasota is one of the most critical decisions you’ll make. A dependable contractor not only fixes the immediate problem but also ensures your roof can withstand Sarasota’s weather challenges, from heavy rains to tropical storms. With so many options available, knowing what to look for in a contractor can save you time, money, and stress. This guide provides practical tips to help you select a trustworthy roofing professional who will get the job done right.
1. Importance of Hiring the Right Roofing Contractor
A roof is a significant investment, and hiring the wrong contractor can lead to poor workmanship, unnecessary expenses, or even further damage.
Key benefits of hiring the right contractor:
Ensures the repair meets industry standards and local building codes.
Prevents future problems, saving money in the long run.
Provides peace of mind through warranties and quality materials.
In Sarasota’s climate, where roofs face constant wear and tear, working with an experienced contractor is essential.
2. Look for Licensing and Insurance
The first step in selecting a contractor is verifying their licensing and insurance. These credentials are crucial for your protection and the quality of the work.
Why licensing matters:
Confirms the contractor has met state or local requirements for roofing work.
Ensures they have the necessary training and expertise.
Why insurance is essential:
Protects you from liability in case of accidents or property damage.
Covers workers' injuries during the project.
Always ask to see proof of both licensing and insurance before hiring a contractor.
3. Check Experience and Reputation
Experience is a key indicator of a contractor’s ability to handle your roofing needs effectively.
How to assess a contractor’s experience:
Ask how long they have been in the roofing business.
Inquire about their experience with similar projects, especially storm damage repair.
Look for specialization in Sarasota’s unique weather conditions.
Reputation matters too:
Read online reviews and testimonials from past clients.
Ask for references and follow up to verify their satisfaction with the work.
Check ratings with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) or similar organizations.
An experienced contractor with a solid reputation is more likely to deliver reliable results.
4. Request a Detailed Estimate
A professional contractor should provide a written estimate that outlines the scope of work, materials, costs, and timeline.
What to look for in an estimate:
A clear breakdown of labor and material costs.
A timeline for project completion.
Details about warranties on materials and workmanship.
Avoid contractors who hesitate to provide detailed estimates or offer vague pricing, as this can lead to unexpected costs later.
5. Ask About Warranties
Reputable contractors stand behind their work by offering warranties on both materials and labor.
Types of warranties to look for:
Manufacturer Warranties: Cover defects in roofing materials.
Workmanship Warranties: Protect against installation errors.
A strong warranty shows the contractor’s confidence in their work and provides you with added peace of mind.
6. Evaluate Communication and Professionalism
Good communication is a sign of a reliable contractor. They should be willing to answer your questions, explain the process, and keep you informed throughout the project.
Signs of professional communication:
Prompt responses to inquiries.
Clear explanations of the repair process and materials.
Respect for your time and property, including cleaning up after the job.
Contractors who value professionalism and transparency are more likely to provide a positive overall experience.
7. Verify Local Knowledge
Roofing regulations and building codes vary by location. A contractor with local knowledge understands Sarasota’s specific requirements, such as hurricane preparedness measures.
Why local expertise matters:
Ensures compliance with Sarasota’s building codes.
Familiarity with weather-related challenges and suitable materials.
Availability for follow-up or maintenance if needed.
Choosing a local contractor also supports the community and ensures a faster response time for emergency repairs.
8. Beware of Red Flags
Not all contractors are trustworthy, and it’s essential to recognize warning signs of potential scams or poor-quality work.
Common red flags:
Asking for full payment upfront.
Offering significantly lower prices than competitors.
Refusing to provide references or proof of insurance.
Pressuring you into making a quick decision.
Trust your instincts and take the time to research thoroughly before committing to a contractor.
9. Compare Multiple Contractors
Don’t settle for the first contractor you come across. Comparing multiple contractors allows you to make an informed decision based on quality, pricing, and compatibility.
Steps for comparison:
Obtain at least three written estimates.
Evaluate their qualifications, warranties, and professionalism.
Consider their availability and response time for the project.
Taking the time to compare options ensures you choose the best contractor for your needs.
Conclusion
Finding the right contractor for roof repair in Sarasota requires careful research and consideration. From verifying licensing and insurance to evaluating experience and warranties, each step helps ensure your roof is repaired to the highest standards.

Whether you're upgrading for personal comfort or increasing your property's value, a bathroom renovation requires careful planning and execution. This guide will walk you through the essential steps to transform your space seamlessly.
Step 1: Plan Your Renovation
Before diving into the renovation, it's crucial to establish a clear plan. Consider the following factors:
Budget: Determine how much you're willing to spend, factoring in materials, labor, and unexpected costs.
Design Preferences: Decide on the style, color scheme, and fixtures that match your vision.
Timeline: Set realistic expectations for the project duration.
Hiring a professional contractor in bathroom renovation NYC projects can ensure a smooth and stress-free process, especially in apartments where space and plumbing restrictions may exist.
Step 2: Obtain Necessary Permits
New York City has strict regulations regarding construction and remodeling. Depending on the scope of your project, you may need permits from the Department of Buildings (DOB). If structural or plumbing changes are involved, obtaining approvals ensures compliance with safety codes. Your contractor can assist with this process.
Step 3: Demolition and Preparation
Once permits are secured, the demolition phase begins. This involves:
Removing old tiles, fixtures, and cabinets.
Checking for water damage, mold, or plumbing issues.
Ensuring the electrical wiring is up to code.
Proper preparation is essential for a smooth transition to the next steps.
Step 4: Plumbing and Electrical Work
Upgrading plumbing and electrical systems is a fundamental part of bathroom renovation NYC projects. This step involves:
Installing new pipes and drains if needed.
Upgrading electrical outlets to meet modern safety standards.
Adding new light fixtures or ventilation systems.
A licensed plumber and electrician can handle these tasks efficiently, ensuring long-term functionality and compliance with city regulations.
Step 5: Install Flooring and Walls
Once the foundational work is complete, it's time to install new flooring and walls. Some popular options include:
Tiles: Durable and moisture-resistant, available in a variety of styles.
Vinyl Flooring: A cost-effective alternative that mimics natural materials.
Waterproof Wall Panels: Ideal for modern and minimalist designs.
Proper waterproofing techniques are crucial to prevent future damage.
Step 6: Choose and Install Fixtures
Selecting high-quality fixtures can elevate the bathroom’s look and usability. Consider:
Bathtubs and Showers: Walk-in showers with glass enclosures are trendy and space-efficient.
Vanities and Storage: Floating vanities provide a sleek appearance and extra floor space.
Toilets and Sinks: Opt for energy-efficient and water-saving models.
A well-chosen combination of these elements ensures both style and practicality.
Step 7: Add Lighting and Accessories
Lighting plays a significant role in setting the mood of your bathroom. Consider:
Task Lighting: Ideal for mirrors and vanities.
Ambient Lighting: Soft overhead lighting for a relaxing atmosphere.
Accent Lighting: LED strips or under-cabinet lighting for added elegance.
Adding mirrors, towel racks, and decorative elements will give the space a finished look.
Step 8: Final Touches and Inspection
The last step involves inspecting the renovation for any minor adjustments. Ensure:
Plumbing and electrical systems function correctly.
Fixtures and tiles are securely installed.
The space is clean and ready for use.
A final inspection by a contractor or a city official may be required to confirm compliance with building codes.
Conclusion
A well-executed bathroom renovation NYC project can significantly enhance your home's comfort and value. By following these steps—planning, obtaining permits, upgrading essential systems, and installing high-quality fixtures—you can achieve a stunning and functional bathroom. Whether you hire professionals or take a hands-on approach, attention to detail will ensure a successful transformation.

Your Guide to Buying Residential Solar Panel Installation
Switching to solar power is a smart choice for homeowners looking to save on electricity bills and reduce their carbon footprint. If you're considering residential solar panel installation, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know—from choosing the right panels to hiring the best professionals to install residential solar panels. With the right information, transitioning to solar energy can be seamless and rewarding.
Why Invest in Residential Solar Panels?
A residential solar panel system transforms sunlight into energy, giving you access to clean, renewable power. Here are some key benefits:
Lower Energy Bills Solar panels significantly reduce energy costs by supplementing or even replacing your reliance on the utility grid. Many homeowners save thousands over the lifespan of their solar system.
Environmental Impact By choosing renewable energy, you’re reducing greenhouse gas emissions and contributing to a more sustainable future.
Increase in Property Value Studies show that homes equipped with residential solar panels often sell for a higher value. Buyers are attracted to the long-term energy savings solar provides.
Tax Incentives and Rebates Many governments and local utilities offer financial incentives for residential solar panel installation, helping to make the upfront cost more affordable.
Factors to Consider Before Installing Solar Panels
Making an informed decision requires you to weigh several considerations:
1. Energy Needs
Assess your energy consumption by looking at your average monthly utility bills. This step helps determine how many panels you'll need to effectively meet your energy demands.
2. Roof Condition and Orientation
Solar panels work best on roofs that are in good condition and receive ample sunlight throughout the day. South-facing roofs are ideal, but east- or west-facing roofs can also work with a proper setup.
3. Available Budget
The cost of residential solar panel installation can vary based on factors like the type of panels, battery storage, and installation company. While the initial investment might seem high, financing options, tax incentives, and long-term energy savings can make it worth it.
4. Selecting the Right Solar Panels
Not all solar panels are the same. Compare options like monocrystalline, polycrystalline, and thin-film panels based on efficiency and cost. Consult an expert to determine what suits your specific needs.
5. Local Policies and Incentives
Research local regulations for solar panel permits and check for rebates or tax credits that can help offset costs. The Indian government offers a solar Investment subsidy that significantly reduces the price of installation.
Steps to Install Residential Solar Panels
When you're ready to move forward, here’s what to expect during the installation process:
1. Site Assessment and Consultation
A professional installer will evaluate your property, checking factors like roof size, angle, and shading to design the ideal solar system for your home.
2. System Design and Permitting
Once the design is complete, the installer will obtain the necessary permits to ensure your solar system complies with local laws and codes. Be patient—this step can take a few weeks.
3. Installation Day
The team will mount the panels, connect the wiring, and install inverters to convert solar energy into usable electricity. A typical installation takes 1-3 days, depending on system complexity.
4. Inspection and Activation
After installation, your system will be inspected to confirm it meets safety and efficiency standards. Once approved, it can be connected to the local power grid, and you can start enjoying clean energy!
Choosing the Right Installer
Selecting the right professionals for residential solar panel installation is crucial. Follow these tips to find a reliable installer:
Check Credentials Look for licensed, insured, and certified contractors.
Read Reviews and Get Referrals Browse online reviews and ask friends or neighbors about their experiences with local solar installers.
Compare Quotes Obtain quotes from several companies to compare prices and services. Don’t automatically go for the cheapest option—reliability and quality matter.
Ask About Warranties Ensure your chosen installer offers warranties on both panels and installation work to protect your investment.
What You Gain with Residential Solar Panels
By choosing to install residential solar panels, you’re investing in your home’s future. Along with reducing your energy costs, you’re making a positive impact on the environment. Plus, the financial benefits—like increased property value and potential income from selling excess energy back to your utility company—make solar an even more attractive option.
Take Action Today!
If you’re ready to reduce your energy bills and gain energy independence, start your solar journey with M3 Solar Pvt. Ltd. With the right guidance, your residential solar panel installation will be a smooth and rewarding process. Don’t wait to start using the power of the sun today!

How to Choose the Right Iron Scrap Buyers: A Comprehensive Guide
https://scrappickuphyderabad.in/how-to-choose-the-right-iron-scrap-buyers/
In a world striving for sustainability, Iron Scrap Buyers play a pivotal role in the recycling ecosystem. Whether you’re a business owner, a contractor, or an individual looking to sell scrap, partnering with the right buyer is crucial. But how do you make the best choice? Let’s dive into everything you need to know about finding the ideal Iron Scrap Purchaser.
The Role of Iron Scrap Buyers in Sustainable Recycling Practices
Iron Scrap Buyers do much more than just purchase old metal. They play an essential role in protecting the environment. Instead of letting metal waste pile up in landfills, these buyers make sure it gets recycled and reused. This helps save valuable natural resources like iron ore and coal, which would otherwise be mined to produce new metal. Recycling also reduces the amount of energy used in metal production, which helps lower greenhouse gas emissions. By working with Iron Scrap Purchaser, people and businesses contribute to the circular economy—a system where materials are reused, not wasted. In this way, Iron Scrap Buyers act as environmental champions, helping create a more sustainable future.
What You Need to Know About the Iron Scrap Buying Process
Selling iron scrap isn’t as simple as just handing over your metal and getting paid. Buyers have a structured process to evaluate and purchase the scrap. Here’s how it works:
Sorting and Grading: Before selling, ensure your scrap is clean and separated by type. For instance, if you have pure iron, separate it from mixed or contaminated materials. Clean and sorted scrap fetches a higher price because it’s easier for buyers to process.
Weighing: After sorting, the buyer will weigh your scrap using precise tools to measure its weight. The payment you receive depends on this weight and the current market rate for iron scrap.
Payment: Once the weight and quality are confirmed, the buyer usually pays immediately or within a short period. Payment methods can vary, but most buyers offer cash or bank transfers for convenience.
Maximizing Value: Tips for Selling Your Iron Scrap to Buyers
If you want to earn the best price for your iron scrap, follow these simple tips:
Sort and Separate: Organize your scrap by type. For example, separate pure iron from mixed or rusted pieces. When your scrap is well-sorted, buyers are likely to offer a better price because it reduces their work.
Know the Market: Metal prices change based on demand and global market trends. Keep an eye on these rates and try to sell when prices are higher. This can significantly increase your earnings.
Build Relationships: Finding a trustworthy buyer can make a big difference. Reliable buyers often offer fair deals, and over time, you may get better offers as a loyal customer.
Top 10 Questions to Ask Your Iron Scrap Buyer Before Selling
Before finalizing a deal, ensure you ask these essential questions:
What are your pricing policies?
Do you offer pick-up services?
How do you ensure accurate weight measurements?
What payment methods do you provide?
Are there any hidden fees?
Do you follow environmentally friendly practices?
Can you provide references?
How quickly do you process payments?
What metals do you accept?
Are you licensed and insured?
These questions will help you gauge the buyer’s reliability and professionalism.
Why Partnering with Reliable Iron Scrap Purchaser Matters for the Environment
When you sell iron scrap, the choice of the buyer plays a crucial role in how your scrap is handled. Partnering with a reliable and trustworthy buyer ensures that your scrap is recycled responsibly and doesn’t end up in landfills. These buyers follow eco-friendly practices that prioritize reducing waste and minimizing environmental harm. Recycling iron scrap saves natural resources, reduces energy consumption, and lowers greenhouse gas emissions compared to mining and processing new metals.
By choosing a reliable purchaser, you’re doing more than earning money for your scrap—you’re actively contributing to environmental protection. Responsible recycling helps create a cleaner, greener planet, making your choice of buyer a meaningful step toward sustainability.
Iron Scrap Buyers: The Unsung Heroes of Metal Recycling
Iron Scrap Buyers play a vital role in the recycling industry. They act as intermediaries, connecting people who want to sell scrap with recycling facilities that can repurpose it. Without these buyers, much of the valuable metal we discard could end up wasted in landfills.
Their work significantly impacts the environment. Recycling iron reduces the need for mining raw materials, which can harm ecosystems. It also saves energy—recycling scrap metal uses far less energy than producing new metal from ore. Additionally, it helps reduce pollution by cutting down emissions associated with traditional mining and production. In many ways, Iron Scrap Purchaser are the silent champions of a sustainable future.
What Iron Scrap Purchaser Look for in Quality Metal: A Seller’s Guide
If you want to get the best price for your iron scrap, it’s essential to know what buyers value most. Here are some key factors they look for:
Purity: Clean and uncontaminated scrap metal is highly desirable. Scrap that is free from dirt, plastic, or other materials is easier to recycle and fetches a higher price. Taking the time to separate and clean your scrap can make a big difference.
Weight: Buyers often pay more for larger quantities of scrap. Heavier loads are more cost-effective for recycling facilities, so gathering a significant amount before selling can maximize your profit.
Condition: Scrap that is rust-free and properly prepared (such as pieces cut to manageable sizes) is more appealing to buyers. While rusted metal is still recyclable, clean and well-maintained scrap is more valuable and easier to process.
Understanding these factors can help you prepare your scrap effectively, ensuring you get a fair price while also supporting sustainable recycling practices.
The Economic Impact of Iron Scrap Buyers on the Recycling Industry
Iron Scrap Buyers play an essential role in driving economic growth and sustainability. By purchasing and processing scrap iron, they create numerous employment opportunities across different stages of the recycling process, from collection to transportation and processing. These activities provide jobs for thousands of people, directly supporting families and communities.
Additionally, Iron Scrap Buyers support small-scale sellers, such as local businesses, workshops, and individuals, by purchasing their discarded metal. This collaboration helps boost the local economy by creating a steady income stream for these sellers. Recycling also significantly reduces the country’s reliance on importing raw materials, saving money and strengthening domestic industries. By keeping the recycling ecosystem active, Iron Scrap Purchaser contribute to the overall economic well-being of the region.
The Journey of Iron Scrap: From Seller to Buyer to Recycling
Have you ever thought about what happens to your discarded iron scrap after you sell it? The process is fascinating and contributes to a sustainable future.
First, the scrap is collected from sellers, which may include industries, households, or construction sites. Once gathered, it is transported to facilities where it undergoes thorough processing. During this stage, the metal is cleaned, sorted, shredded, and sometimes melted to remove impurities and prepare it for reuse.
Finally, the processed scrap is transformed into new products, such as construction materials, appliances, or machinery. This completes the recycling loop, ensuring that waste is turned into a valuable resource. By participating in this cycle, Iron Scrap Purchaser play a key role in keeping materials in use and reducing environmental waste.
How Iron Scrap Buyers Are Supporting a Circular Economy
Iron Scrap Buyers are at the heart of the circular economy, which focuses on reusing and recycling materials instead of discarding them. By purchasing scrap metal and ensuring it is processed for reuse, they help reduce the need for mining fresh iron ore. This not only conserves natural resources but also lowers environmental pollution caused by mining activities.
Moreover, their work enables industries to adopt more sustainable practices. Recycled materials are often more cost-effective and environmentally friendly, encouraging companies to choose these over new raw materials. In this way, Iron Scrap Buyers support a system where resources are continuously reused, creating a sustainable loop that benefits the planet and the economy.
The Evolution of Iron Scrap Buyers in a Tech-Driven Recycling World
The recycling industry, including iron scrap buying, is evolving rapidly thanks to technological advancements. Modern technologies, like AI-powered sorting systems, enable buyers to identify and separate metals with incredible precision, making the recycling process faster and more efficient.
Blockchain technology is another game-changer, providing transparency and trust in transactions. It allows sellers and buyers to track the journey of scrap metal, ensuring accountability at every stage. These innovations improve not only the efficiency of recycling but also the reliability of the entire system.
As technology continues to advance, Iron Scrap Buyers are adopting these tools to stay competitive, improve processes, and contribute even more effectively to a sustainable future.
Iron Scrap Purchaser: Key Contributors to India’s Sustainable Development Goals
India’s commitment to sustainable development aligns closely with the work done by Iron Scrap Purchaser. Their role in recycling metals supports several key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For instance, by recycling and reusing scrap, these buyers promote responsible consumption and production (SDG 12). Instead of mining for new resources, they give new life to existing materials, reducing the environmental burden.
Furthermore, the recycling of iron scrap reduces the need for energy-intensive mining processes, contributing to climate action (SDG 13). This lowers greenhouse gas emissions and conserves natural resources. Additionally, by supplying raw materials to industries like construction and manufacturing, scrap buyers support industry innovation and infrastructure development (SDG 9). This highlights their crucial role in fostering a circular economy and driving sustainable progress in India.
From Waste to Wealth: How Iron Scrap Buyers Transform Discarded Metal
Iron Scrap Buyers perform an incredible task: turning what many see as waste into valuable resources. For example, old machinery, rusted beams, or discarded iron parts may look like useless junk. However, scrap buyers process these materials and transform them into raw materials that industries can use. These recycled metals are then repurposed for making new products, such as construction materials or components for manufacturing.
This process not only reduces waste but also conserves resources and energy. Recycling scrap metal takes far less energy than producing new metal from raw ore. This transformation proves the adage, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” By enabling this, Iron Scrap Buyers play a pivotal role in turning discarded items into wealth while promoting environmental sustainability.
