OuterRenaissance. It's still being fleshed out (asks would help a lot), and I plan to later on make an outcode expanded version, and even have some basic stuff for that version. But in simple words it's Outertale but in addition of the space themes, i added themes of the Renaissance historical period, as it brought great advances to science; including astronomy!

Backstory???

Its AU died (destroyed by Error), and it almost did too, but i possessed it and fused my soul over time with its own using my creator powers and it is now technically a walking corpse puppeteered by me so I can interact with the UTMV, while also forcing it to change its form into the Doppelganger form; giving it the ability to, well, shapeshift. Also ink snas selfship shenanigans i haven't properly written yet (yooo two walking corpses that love eachother!!!!!1!!!1). that's the fewest words i can put it in

Does it have a personality?

Yup. I just don't know how to describe personalities, but here's an attempt at that.

Io is a passionate artist, but struggles with some degree of perfectionism driven by the pride of its art skills which are, by far, its best ability. It also tends to be (sometimes dangerously) kind-hearted at others. It might act one of two ways in social spaces: kind of awkward, not talking much, OR ABSOLUTE MENACE as in SUPER SILLY. No in-between.

Also, it is a quick learner, and could be considered quite intelligent. Thing is ... It carried over speech from the Renaissance time period and is still adapting to modern words. A bit of an overthinker too, which can lead to communication issues, and tends to plan elaborate strategies to perform the simplest of things...sometimes not even following them.

Pronouns/gender identity?

Io, like me, goes by it/its pronouns and identifies as non-binary! (Subject to change as I occasionally explore my gender identity)

And here's some trivia to finish this off!

Io, due to being puppeteered by me; a Creator, also has the powers of one, but either doesn't use the powers at all or uses them in subtle ways to try and steer things to its/my favour. It may sometimes disguise it as "art magic" shown in these doodles i made a bit ago:

This is Aleksi. They are an avatar of the eye the works along side Elias (not for the institute, they actually don’t like Elias they think he’s fuckin weird but they are a nosey ass bitch so they’ll do “favors” in exchange for access to info) they’re an only child from a pretty rich family. they are visually in their late 20s though I haven’t solidified anything except they were 18 in 2002 (which would make them specifically not late 20s teehee) they were first marked by the fears bc they were a competitive gymnast that was exceeding their current coach’s level of skill so they went searching for a new one and found a woman in London named Katrine Hoss, she was an avatar of the spiral (affected by a leitner like Jared). She had her own weird shit going on but Aleksi ignored 90% of it. She started training Aleksi and after a short time they started rapidly exceeding their skill level and their body started to change (twinkified basically, they weren’t always that tall) with the occasional vague traumatic experience happening during practices and (about a year or two later) after their dad got into a verbal scuffle with katrine about not being enough for their kid some even whackier shit started to happen, their dad died and the same leitner that affected Katrine was found by Aleksi shortly after their dad’s death, obvious connections were made and Aleksi quit competing and practically threw themselves into figuring out wtf was up with this “magic” book, que them finding the institute and Elias stinking a deal since he was able to tell Aleksi was already marked by the spiral. They typically play with the memories of institute employees to make them think he’s worked there forever so he doesn’t have to worry about questions, around season 3 when Jon goes a searching for avatars and gets more knowing powers he figures out Aleksi isn’t actually an employee and just fuckin weird. Little details aren’t ironed out, but I’ve got the big picture and I love my little blorbo. Oh hes also a bit of a sassy ass (and a flirt, but just to make people mildly uncomfy and question themselves. They think it’s funny) and they’ve got a bit of a temper but you wouldn’t be able to tell until they blow a fuse and they’ve kinda got weird triggers for said fuse. Love me a loose cannon. I didn’t realize how much I just info dumped about this until just now lol, I hope you enjoy. :)

Moss (02) Ref! ✨

Moss is a vessel of shadows, jumping from dimension to dimension via a dimensional eye she had fused with. Her eye streaks represent how many times she had died and now she is on her second life. Each death causing another shadow of that past life to follow her (I’ll post more on that at some point w/ more general lore). Moss isn’t quick to make friends but will take any non enemies she can get her hands on. Her snarky and somewhat annoying attitude doesn’t help, although they are kind at heart (if she had one).

I’d like to hear about your Pokémon au

Okay so basically 💞💞

Multiverse, I took a cheap way out and made it so every plotline I can think of could realistically happen in the context of this au because of the line 'every single star is it's own little universe' which explains the title (that being Every Single Star) but also that's just a fact in canon to it, when a universe is destroyed, a Jirachi falls to a distant beach

But there's a few other facts about it that are sort of integral to the plot

The first universe, because the multiverse wasn't created naturally, exists without stars and without Giratina, who will be important later

It's also the home universe of every legendary/mythical pokemon- human hybrid, also known as God's, who have a role only they themselves can fill. Most were humans blessed by one of the Arceus' (there are 1 for every type), some who have more specific origins maintain those origins, some were created as gods and others only fused with the gods to save their lives (so to say, Hoopa willingly gave it's life to save that of a human it was attached to)

I won't go deep into the plot here but basically here's more lore on the Arceus'; currently only 4 exist: Normal, Psychic, Dark, and Flying, each of them represent something and the next arceus is only spawned in when the previous one fully understands what it is they represent. They aren't humans, but instead beings made entirely of stardust and light that typically manifest in the form of a person- they can't die but they can still feel pain, and all that

Onto the last thing I'll he addressing here- demons. Demons are basically pokemon-human hybrids who used to be alive but died with unfinished business who sold their souls to Giratina in order to finish said business, they look just like they did when they were alive but forced to take on certain traits of whatever pokemon I decided they were fitting as and also horns, most take pity on them, others are disgusted, they were only created after the multiverse split and because Giratina is banned from the first universe, people from said universe cannot become them

Alternate Endgames for my Ghost/Resurrected Mari AU

Okay, so I don't plan on going back to my Ghost/Resurrected Mari AU (I did rewrite a few chapters and added supplementary stuff, but that's all), but I wanted to go over "what-if" scenarios for Mari's endgame.

Goddess of Truth (refs by @eggsoupery and @neskastree)

Okay, so we all know how her story ends in this universe. She becomes a god after her death and is ultimately the most enlightened Mari will ever get.

In the initial version, it was her reward for saving Sunny and overcoming the "Grudge"/HellMari. In the rework, she's completely reincarnated into a goddess.

There are admittedly times where she can be stern and upset, but will always make things right in the end. I don't think I need to explain much, tbh.

These refs may or may not be retconned....

Oni of Vengeance (ref by @shrimperini)

Okay, so this is a simple idea. Basically, Mari feels more attached and has a new-found respect for her Fallen Angel powers. In response, she is made an Oni to make sure those in Hell do not escape.

She still maintains her alignment to her family and friends, but she's much more vengeful and violent towards those that may harm them.

Based on the rework of the final battle, how Mari would obtain this form goes like this. Mari is defeated by the "Grudge" and is sent to Hell, where she goes through a lot of torment for (in her perspective) 143 years.

Mari would probably be on the verge of giving up upon being defeated the first time around, before growing furious with Hell mocking her, to which she says "Fuck it" and chooses to become an Oni by any means to save her home by any means.

This anger would be built up with time (ala Asura's Wrath), with Mari in Hell fighting, screaming, threatening, and promising vengeance of those that wronged her and her loved ones.

This anger is also accompanied with her realization about her actions and emotions, in that they don't just effect her, but also the people around her.

And that is why it's very important to not lose yourself to them...as they can cause harm to those you don't intent to hurt. Again, that's one of the mistakes Mari's been trying to make up for.

The road to understanding is how to use your anger towards a passion worth the adrenaline and rage. Not to let it eat you.

Human/Superhuman (refs by @raillue)

Another simple idea. Much like her other selves, she has her human form, but here, Mari easily beats the "Grudge" and chooses to decline the offer to become a god and wants to remain as human as possible.

She's still resurrected and still has access to the dragonic form here as a means of self-defense, but aside from that, she is 100% human.

Merged History

A more complicated idea. Basically, this is a Mari that shares a fused history of the Maris above. She was born human, died and eventually transformed from angel to fallen angel, then the folks in Hell chose to make her their agent of vengeance.

Of course, Mari did not have any say, which only added to her postmortem trauma.

Eventually, she was saved by Heaven and freed, reverting back to a simple spirit. Afterwards, the goddess that helped Mari in the story does so here, making her Sunny's guardian angel. And you know the rest.

Mari ultimately sacrifices her supernatural powers to have her and Sunny remain human.

I don't know what might happen after she crosses the rainbow bridge, but that's not important. Mari's happy with her life and is home with her brother and friends. That's all that matters.

Void Entity

Based on the Merged History idea, but with a twist. Note: This idea does not feature the Dragonic or Goddess forms. Instead, this is something based on the Void Entity from Hollow Knight.

So, basically, Heaven is unable to "cure" Mari of her "ailment". As such, her hopes fade very quickly. Despite that, she continues to pray for salvation and redemption.

Her prayers are answered...from an unlikely source. The infinite nothingness. The nothingness strips away Mari's demonic condition and replaces it with something else.

Mari ultimately becomes something that has no demonic or divine traits. She is something that can only be born from nothing. She still has her sense of self, but has no idea what she is or can do.

Her story after this is largely the same, although her, Mari goes back to Earth to help Sunny via her own power. She also retains her memories of the afterlife.

another oc group of mine that was bunch of random doodles from notebook i adopted as oc.

The story started by Aki who entered the deep of forest, while severely wounded from their main work. They weren't aware that the place was actually where Ako's tree body is rooted. Aki then given treatment and later met the other bunch who lived there and befriended them. Basically its a roomate kind of story except the roomates are odd non human folk. Except for Aki.

1. Aki is an ordinary human who mainly worked as assassin, and part time a student. Aki was adopted and taught by their mentor (the predecessor) and later were left behind after they mastered everything to continue the work alone.

2. Ako was reincarnated as tree after he was buried alive as baby. He died and the soul fused into a sapling planted along to hide his body. The area where Ako were buried later became dense forest.

3. Koko is a child from the union of a fairy and dwarf, which is kind of rule-breaking according to the fairy ruler. So Koko, who has appearance similar to human child, were left in the human's world.

4. (There is already the ref sheet for ron but again) Ron is an ancient fire who later anthromorphized due to the longtime worship from its believer. After it became sentient, Ron escaped from the cult and hide inside Ako's enchanted forest.

5. Ake (short from obake) is her new name after she became a vengeful ghost due to murder. She wasn't actually a japanese but died while cosplaying as japanese ghost hence the outfit. Ake, as a ghost, developed obsession for hands since she lost hers, and was keen on stealing human hands.

Becky’s already in the ring, leaning against the ropes before Steph’s music hits and she’s coming to the ring with Matt- Well, looks like Steph’s already changed her mind, turning towards Matt Cardona and whispering something.

It looks like Cardona’s going to back, Steph’s doing this one on her own, making sure that she shows everyone that last week was a fluke and she can easily hold her own!

The whole crowd is cheering as the two stare at each other, the referee checking between the two before the bell is rung and they immediately go after each other with a lockup that quickly devolves into forearm chops over and over again!

Steph De Lander looks bigger than Becky, she’s got almost four inches on the Irishwoman, but Lynch manages to get the upperhand with a smooth 1-2-knee strike that drops Steph to her knees! Becky immediately follows with a headbutt before winding up and slamming her down with a enzugiri kick!

Lynch goes for a cover, but Steph shoves her off before the referee can even get to a one count.

It looks like Lynch wants to go for the dis-arm-her, but Steph knows what’s coming and scrambles towards the rope and screaming for the ref to do their job and separate them- Becky quickly lets go, but as she stands up Steph grabs her ankle and trips her up, sending Lynch faceplanting on the mat.

SDL has the upperhand now, grabbing a fistful of hair and making Becky look up at her, yelling about how Becky should be grateful to be in a ring with the indy goddess- only for Becky to flip her off, Steph getting furious and slapping Lynch! as we all know in MPW, Steph De Lander has a huge ego and a very short fuse, Becky Lynch almost immediately getting under her skin. as Becky tries to get her hair out of SDL’s grip, Steph stomps on Becky’s hand, letting go before getting a few steps of distance and slamming Becky with a knee strike straight to the face!!

Steph bounces off the opposite rope, wanting to go for a Big Boot and finish this match quickly, but Becky can hear her coming and ducks out of the way, getting to her feet as Steph’s tangled in the ropes- immediately slams Steph with a knee to the midsection before a Big Boot of her own that sends SDL out of the ring and onto the floor below with a painful thud!!

Becky’s on the top rope, taking in the adoration of the crowd that seems to be cheering as hard as they can, as Steph writhes on the floor. De Lander is trying to get to her feet, and as Becky jumps down to the apron she charges for a Diving Forearm Smash but Steph rolls out of the way, responding with a Big Boot that crumbles Lynch to the floor!

SDL’s immediately on her with forearm shots to the head, but Becky flips them over and gives Steph a taste of her own medicine- Becky sits up, her arms raised as the crowd starts cheering–

6…7… God, neither woman noticed that the referee had started their count and they had been outside too long for comfort. Instead of Becky rolling in and taking the count out win, the red head clearly wants another pin and grabs a fistful of Steph’s hair and drags her back into the ring.

The two are finally back in just before the 10 count, both getting to their feet before the self proclaimed Indy Goddess flips Becky Lynch off- Lynch counters by grabbing Steph’s finger and wrenching it backwards, SDL screaming so loud the concession stand can hear her! Steph uses a boot to the midsection to separate them, before bouncing off the ropes and slamming Becky with a harsh clothesline that takes the red head down!

Becky almost immediately kicks out, pushing Steph off before Steph bounces back with a lariat that keeps Lynch on the mat. There’s barely a pause Steph yanks her up and is yelling at her about showing how WWE dodged that bullet-

“dodgin’ a fuckin’ bullet, huh?” Becky yells, before shoving Steph’s face away and stunning her with a European Uppercut!

Steph really can’t talk when she’s been blasted by this show of offense, slammed again and again by different shots from Becky Lynch that continually takes the wind out of Steph’s lungs! Beck finally goes for a cover-

1… 2..- Kickout at 2 point 999 ad infinitum!!

Steph was so close to losing this match, but Steph’s got that promise of a title match from her best friend to think about! As Steph stumbles to her feet, Becky runs the ropes to gain momentum, but as she turns to charge at Steph her foot is caught and she faceplants on the mat again!

Everyone looks to how Becky fell and to everyone’s shock (but no one’s real surprise) we can see hands holding onto her ankle tightly before they disappear beneath the apron again- the referee didn’t have a chance to see it before Steph’s pulling Becky up and into a Samoan Drop!!

Steph calls the ref over before pushing Becky down and going for the pin!

1… 2… 3!!

It looks like Becky tried to kick out, but it wasn’t enough- Well it would have been if her boots weren’t held down again!! This time the hands stay there as Steph jumps up in victory, kicking the hands away before the ref sees them.

THANK U SM FOR THIS QUESTION BUG IT MEANS A LOT i will do my best o explain this coherently, but YES, there is a magic system!!! tthere's basic magic in the comic, stuff like controlling / producing elements (fire, water etc) or levitating things, etc. but the main system that is relevant in the comic is a special kind of magic called "Soul Binding"

in panda pearl, a character named Voice of Reason explains to Maria about it. more or less, it involves joining the heart of two organisms through the location of their soul - in the humans of the comic, their soul is located in both heart and brain. In trees, its their roots. and in oysters, its the "pearls" they produce. "Soul Binding" involves a living creature (e.g. a human) binding their soul to a pearl and pulling power from it.

Once bound, the pearl can be summoned at will. with this, you can also fuse a weapon of choice with the pearl(s), and summon that weapon at will. otheriwse, wearing clothing with the pearl (could be as simple as a ring or necklace) will enhance you bodily, such as a glove allowing you to punch with more strength

Maria's father, Edgar, claims to be the one who invented the process. while i wont say if he did or not, whats certain is he did make it more ...accessible. He taught a good few people to soul bind, including his son, Roy, Maria's older brother. Roy can summon an axe, and Maria has yet to learn the magic to summon her guns in canon time, but her guns have pearls in them as well. edgar himself has a sword

there's a lot of , and I mean a lot of, plot following the magic. this is because Nori, Maria's uncle, seemingly did a sort of taboo with his pearls. Normally, your soul stays in place when you soul bind, and the pearl you bind to is simply an extension. Nori's panda eyepatch, the "Panda Pearls", instead holds his soul entirely, and his body/heart/brain are the extensions. as a result, he must wear the eyepatch or he dies. its fine he can be brought back by putting the pearls back on. theres more story to that as well, including the fact that nori can transform into a demonic panda beast, but hoohoo spoilers.

you know how absurdly quick meta got rid of all his robot shit to go help kirby? well he had to have missed something..yeah? in this au of mine, instead of just the control mask, susie had some sort of implant that he didn’t have time to dig out so he could go help kirby in time and..as star dream died, it attached itself to the only other piece of haltmann tech that it could still inhabit..and it just so happened to be the the implant meta didn’t have time to dig out..........chaos ensues (:

so for some more general notes!

-clockwork isn’t star dream or meta...its more of like a fusion of the two. it has meta’s desire for power and his “secret wild streak” (thanks star allies) fused with star dream’s agenda to wipe out/robotise all organic life...a pretty fucking deadly combination if you ask me

-the result is a scarily smart and charming, slimy motherfucker who has way too much power and intelligence for its own good.

-dont make jokes about its height or face. will not hesitate to kill

-you do NOT want to mess with clockwork considering it possesses a good chunk of star dream’s god like powers and meta’s knack for combat.

-the wings and arms are summomable..you know like how star dream summons stuff and warps away?? my point here basically is that it doesn’t always have its wings and drill arms out

-half business man, half warrior. clockwork runs what’s left of haltmann works but isn’t afraid to get its hands dirty

-cool, collected, and charming when it needs to be, but generally a short, angry, power hungry gremlin

-since star dream is pretty fucking beefy, meta’s implant sometimes overloads, letting him take control again, however briefly. star dream soon started working on measures to prevent this from happening, but even still meta still has brief moments of lucidity and clarity where he feels almost like himself again.

-its really not fun for him since he doesnt have enough time to really understand what’s going on or do anything about it ):

-however, there’s a part of meta that delights in being so untouchable and so fucking powerful. at this point in my little story for him, he’s had a pretty bad history of feeling inferior and like he just. isnt enough. so when he gets all this power, part of him just goes fucking crazy and relishes in how powerful and confident he finally feels.

-once he’s back to normal, he’s terrified of this part of him, especially since he acted scarily similar to his mirror world counterpart, as well as the fabled pink clad knight who destroyed halcandra and served as a cautionary tale for any knight.

-i’m still not sure how the story portion of this au will work, but my vague idea is that after the star dream fight clockwork fucks off into space and starts rebuilding haltmann’s empire..it still keeps the haltmann name because of susie’s implant, in it which was programmed absolute loyalty to the company

some ref pics of my baby boy laz (and some friends)! i’ve been working on fleshing him out a bit, so i’ll slap some of what i’ve got for lore thus far under a cut. post sacrifice/new war leadup spoilers ahead, ye have been warned!!! - his main deal is that he tried to retreat into a kind of void cocoon after being attacked and gravely injured by a sentient but accidentally pulled it in with him— killing it and saving himself, but now it is permanently fused with him because when he tried to heal himself in the void, pieces of the sentient got pulled into the mix and are now functionally keeping him alive. basically a tenno amalgam. -blind due to void scarring. before his void coma incident, the scars only affected his vision slightly, but because he spent so long in limbo the damage progressed to the point where he lost his vision altogether. transference into a frame with good optics allows him to see a little bit, but no detail - mostly movement and blurry outlines of shapes, so he relies on his squadmates a lot to deal with details. he still likes to go on missions, regardless - he likes to feel like he’s helping, and his friends and clanmates don’t mind keeping an eye out for him. - when he DOES go solo, his cephalon and equipped pet (usually masha because she’s my favorite, but he’s got a couple predasites too now that deimos rolled around that im working on building) will act as guides. masha handles enemies and generally just keeps guard to alert him to what’s happening, although she can seek out objectives or resources if so commanded. audri is his mission control, letting him know what he needs to be doing, how he needs to do it, and informing him of enemy movements in advance if she can. she’s not perfect, a lot of the time just warning him of a ‘projectile incoming’ without giving him a where when how or what, but they make it work. - audri is somewhere between a twitch TTS bot and glados. in orbiter she functions as a screen reader, which leads to his friends constantly sending him absurd messages knowing she’ll read it aloud and it will be funny. she cares about him and tries to be helpful, but doesn’t quite ‘get’ humans very much. she’s a little broken and glitchy but otherwise very nice :) i love her - the sentient he absorbed is still like…. sentient, i guess? its core is intact, so it’s become like an annoying little voice in the back of laz’s head that tries to convince him to kill and maim. really angry mental backseat driver. it has no real control over him and is pretty much harmless, just a pain in the ass. laz doesn’t have the heart to try to get rid of it, partially cuz he feels bad and kind of enjoys the company, but partially cuz he knows if they separate they both die. i’d imagine they grow on eachother and maybe even start working together a bit after natah’s betrayal at the end of the sacrifice and in the lead up to the new war, since it would hurt them both so deeply. generally tho i just think it’s funny if it was just there trying to be edgy but laz ignores it - the sentient limb he uses as a cane is completely unrelated. he just like ripped it off during a mission one time, decided to hold onto it so he could find his way around to get to extraction, and then decided he liked it and kept it. - the ‘void echolocation’ i originally had him doing is still there, but it doesn’t really substitute his actual guides. in a pinch he can get a decent idea of his surroundings by bouncing energy pulses off of them, but against a moving target it doesn’t do the job because it’s pretty taxing and with his current grasp on his power, there’s a long gap between pulses that isn’t conducive to combat scenarios. - he didn’t go into stasis like the other tenno - but because he was in a void pocket, he pretty much did the same thing. one of his clanmates found him and managed to pull him out, and the rest, as they say, is history. he doesn’t have a very close relationship to the lotus because she never ‘woke him up’ - as far as her connection to the tenno goes, he technically died in combat with the sentient, which broke that link off, even after he was revived. he doesn’t trust her much, but most of his information about her comes from his friends who are pretty torn up about her turning on them, since she doesn’t really… talk to him at all. because he’s technically dead. - he really likes animals. conservation is his passion. born to tranq world is a fuck 5000000000 floofs

The True Power of NEO: Part 1

Series Thesis: Mettaton had decent reasons to think confronting the human in his NEO form was a good idea, and to think he’d survive the encounter and be a hero. However, he didn’t fully think it through, and his desire for a humanoid form warped his reasoning.

The series is organized as follows. (Use the tag "The True Power of NEO" to navigate.) Part 1: Mettaton’s reasoning. Part 2: Where everything went wrong, and why. (General Trends) Part 3:Where everything went wrong, and why. (Specific Details) Part 4: And yet...his death is meaningful.

Introduction

Mettaton has a unique role in the Genocide Route. He’s a Genocide Route-exclusive boss, who makes a dramatic speech about his “anti-human functions not being entirely removed” and transforms into Mettaton NEO. He has an exclusive battle theme, and a speech acknowledging the genocidal human’s crimes. Still, for all his build-up, he dies in one hit, and gives the genocidal human however much EXP is necessary to reach LV 19.

His battle is strange for other reasons, too. On the Genocide Route, Mettaton claims his Mettaton NEO form was made for human extermination and his boxy form is more “photogenic”, but, on other routes, he makes the opposite claim. The latter claim makes more sense, given his boxy form’s very high defenses and how his body is described as invulnerable. Despite supposedly being made for extermination, Mettaton NEO goes down in one strike, even if one barely hits him in a near-Genocide Route. Mettaton’s body also explodes when he dies, but it deals no damage.

Why? Why is his fight so strange? Why would he ever think fighting the Human was a good idea?

Tactics

Tactic 1: Mettaton is the Bomb (Literally)

Tactic 1 Summary: Mettaton would block the CORE’s exit by self-destruction of his body. This would block the human’s progress or at least buy a lot of time to evacuate others, and contact Asgore to get him to absorb the human SOULs and fight the Human. It’s possible Mettaton would survive his body’s self-destruction, assuming he didn’t fuse with his body.

Mettaton (in his NEO/EX form) is one of only three enemies to explode when he dies. (Tsundereplane and Mad Mew Mew are the others) Mettaton’s explosion could theoretically be weaponized: in fact, it’s plausible it was upgraded (if hastily) for this.

First, Mettaton NEO’s explosion lasts for a while. Tsundereplane, Mad Mew Mew’s, Mettaton EX, and Mettaton NEO’s explosions last one, four, seven, and eight seconds, respectively.

Second, it’s big. Mettaton EX’s, NEO’s, and Mad Mew Mew’s explosions all turn the whole screen white and then black for several seconds, suggesting a huge, blinding explosion. In contrast, Tsundereplane’s explosion doesn’t cover the whole screen, and its death makes the screen flash white very briefly.

Third, in addition to lasting one second longer than in his EX form, Mettaton NEO’s explosion grows faster when triggered. For Mad Mew Mew and Mettaton EX, the explosion only starts after they are done speaking, but Mettaton NEO’s text is still on-screen when the explosion starts. (Note: When Mettaton EX is damaged, his arms fall off, and his arm sockets smoke. Tsundereplane also has mini-explosions as it dies and says its last words, before crashing to make a much bigger explosion.)

Furthermore, in the Neutral/Pacifist Route, Mettaton's body is left behind after he explodes, and it’s trashed beyond repair. Yet, in the near-Genocide/Genocide Route, his body isn’t left behind, although it logically would. If his body’s explosion were upgraded to be stronger, that might explain the lack of a corpse: his body became shrapnel that stuck to the ceiling. 1

Thus, he could plausibly block the CORE’s only exit through self-destructing. At the very least, this would massively delay the Human. It’s vital: it gives more time to evacuate New Home, if the human still has a chance to get there, or to contact Asgore, have him absorb six human SOULs, and wipe out the genocidal human.

Mad Mew Mew survives the explosion and dismemberment of her body, so Mettaton, too, surely would survive his body exploding. If he could set his body to self-destruct by timer, he could easily leave his body near the entrance, and then phase out of his body and go through walls to flee. If there was no timer, he might survive if it were a physical explosion, since ghosts are immune to physical attacks.

Blocking the exit by body explosion ahead of time is sensible, reasonably low-risk, and seems to fit Mettaton’s and Alphys’ motives.

For Alphys, one should note that in the Genocide Route some floors of Hotland are inaccessible through laser traps, and the elevator to New Home won’t work.2 Given her hacking abilities and the fact she’s leading the evacuation, Alphys most likely did that. In fact, she had so thoroughly blocked off sections of Hotland that, had she evacuated Muffet from her den as planned and sealed the den’s exit, the Human couldn’t leave Hotland at all. Additionally, since the MTT resort elevator to New Home won’t work, the human has to take the long way around though an unpopulated area (the CORE). For Mettaton, indirect tactics are in-character for him. He does re-arrange the CORE in the Neutral/Pacifist Routes, perhaps to ensure the human will encounter the mercenaries he hired, and he offers a lot of money to Muffet for the Human’s SOUL. Therefore, it would make sense Alphys would tell Mettaton to seal the CORE exit, or that Mettaton would decide to do so on his own.

Tactic 2: Offense Over Defense

Tactic 2 Summary: Mettaton made a decent choice in choosing his Mettaton NEO mode, because it could (in theory) hit hard and fast but still take a few hits. (Slightly less well-supported than Tactic 1.)

Although Mettaton EX is not invulnerable, he's a fairly difficult boss. He can attack with a larger volume and variety of bullets, in versatile combat patterns with unique combat mechanisms (the fast-forward/rewind technique). He uses a unique SOUL mode, too, and if Mettaton only fights the human once in the Genocide Route, the human would have no practice with this mode. (like for Undyne). Mettaton’s a pretty formidable foe, even when he's focusing on glamour and dancing rather than killing the human as quickly as possible.

Mettaton has very good stats, too. His boxy mode has 9999 HP, 30 AT, and 255 DEF, while his Mettaton EX and NEO forms have 1,600 HP, 47 AT, 47 DF, and 30,000 HP, 90 AT, and 9 DF, respectively. While Mettaton NEO's defense is much lower than the other forms, he has the most HP and AT. In theory, Mettaton NEO is a mode that emphasises offense over defense, but can still take several hits. If Mettaton strikes hard enough, he wouldn’t need to fight for very long. Furthermore, assuming Mettaton NEO has a higher AT stat than Mettaton EX and was more focused on killing a human, he might actually succeed. (That's not even counting the possibility he could dodge or fly)

Tactic 3: “You wouldn’t kill a human, would you?”

Tactic 3 Summary: Believing the human would be reluctant to kill someone who looks humanlike, Mettaton takes on a humanlike form. If the human cannot kill Mettton, they would be drained of the will to exterminate, or quit after “killing” him. Of course, Mettaton would actually survive since he’s a ghost. (Least plausible interpretation, since Mettaton thinks the human is a “threat to humanity”)

Mettaton thinks the human might be reluctant to kill someone who looks so humanlike. The human would be unable to kill Mettaton, and thus be drained of the will to exterminate, or quit after “killing” him. (see real players quitting after killing Papyrus; now apply it in-universe to someone who looks shockingly humanoid)

Humans have a deep-seated aversion to killing their own kind, to the point killing humans comes at a high psychological cost. Indeed, according to the book The Most Dangerous Animal: "[...]the most traumatic form of killing involves looking a person in the eyes while taking his life. It is an experience that often haunts men for the rest of their lives.” Soldiers sometimes get PTSD even when killing in self-defense or in defense of others, and their turmoil is surely greater when killing those who don’t pose a threat. (e.g., children) Psychologically, the easiest way to dodge this and exterminate vast swaths of people is to conceive of them as non-humans: as wild beasts, vermin, pests, or simply “monsters”. Although Papyrus, Undyne, and Sans look pretty humanoid, Mettaton NEO/EX are definitely the most human-like, due to the humanlike face and body.

Due to his admiration of human culture, Mettaton might have known about this tendency, and made it part of his plan. Taking on a suddenly very humanlike form would confront the human with an aversion to killing other humans. Furthermore, if he couldn’t (or didn’t) attack, the Human wouldn’t be able to justify attacking him in self-defense. Progress on the Genocide Route is only possible through clearing out areas and exterminating bosses, and the Human can make no exceptions. If the human cannot kill Mettaton NEO, they’ll lose the will to fight (or at least for exterminating).

His plan hinges on a human not wanting to kill humans/someone who looks so humanoid. In any case, if Mettaton hasn’t fused with his body yet, a physical strike cannot hurt him, and he will survive if his body is destroyed.

As for why it's not visible...video game limitations. For example, Toriel notices when Frisk is hurt, despite Frisk's sprite showing no damage, and when Toriel fights Frisk, the room has no scorch marks, despite the volley of fireballs.  ↩︎

FNAF Squad Reference Sheets

The time has finally arrived!

After many years of cursing myself about making Reference Sheets fo my characters I pulled myself together and busted out 4 Refs for my main FNAF Squad! X3

Seriously, it nearly killed me drawing these. The only saving grace was that I had a base body that I just copy-pasted and changed up a little in hights and body type/s X'D

But after 3 weeks I finally did it and I love every single one of these!! Seriously, love them, they perfect, I'm SO proud of them and myself for making them X3

And of course Vinnie had to be the first one of them all, cuz duh X'D

URGH I just love Vincent so much! Yeah, yeah, call me whatever you want, but this particular Purple Man will always be my Number 1. He's the most fun Character I made, ever, and without him I don't know who I would be today. He's important to me and I care ALOT about him <3

Rick is my soft bb boi. I love him, I love how I drew him and anybody who says anything against him is going to have a problem with me e3e

Jokes aside, I would've never thought that my 'Purple Man'-wanna be that I spontaneously made in a FNAF 2 RP would become such a great character. OP af, maybe a bit basic, but also so god damn interesting and fun.

Aaaand with Keith my FNAF Universe crumbled into pieces X'D

Well, not really BECAUSE of him, but FNAF 4 really was something that was hard to add into my Universe, since it's mostly fixed on Vincent's side of the story.

But, I really appreciated Keith being made in the first place! He opened up another way to introduce the Nightmare Animatronics and with Keith there was another part of Vincent's and Rick's story to make it a little more interesting. He was also the one who gave PG a purpose in the Universe, so I'm actually really glad to have this edgy-wanna be in my squad X'3

I'm still in shock on how similar he is to Necro, a Sonic OC that is paired up with a perverted God, and Echo, a cyborg Pikachu with a bright red robot right eye, AND basically looking like a Darkrai gijinka and also having nightmare abilties. Still in shock about the Darkrai thing, since I haven't played Pokemon at all in that time, or even ownig a Darkrai of my own at that time to even think about :''3

And last but not least we have my favorite perv boi, PG X3

I remember how this boi started and I'm so glad that I managed to come up with a really good story to integrate him into the Universe without breaking Vincent's story and dangerious and dark theme.

... in return PG became one of my most tragic Characters I have, whoops X'D

He and Keith were the most chill Refs to make, hands down and I'm so glad that I could make them as fast as I did X'D

Together with the others I had alot of fun making these Refs and changing my boiz a bit up here and there, optimizing their designs and giving them new life in general X3

Vincent, the Purple Man.

He's a cunning Mastermind and confident in his killing skills. He's no opponent somebody should take lightly, Vincent is fast, strong and agile, always thinking of a plan and being one step ahead from his enemy. Due to him dying and haunting an ANimatronic suit himself this Purple Guy has the ability to turn into a 'Ghost-Form' that allows him to do all the typical Ghost stuff, but sadly all of that just for a very short time. After his victims forgive him however, seeing the torture Vincent was going through, he was given another chance at life, with a new body that doesn't age and can heal itself. Vincent doesn't really like other people and shows off his own confidence to stay ahead. But sometimes he can be a real dork around his friends and have a great time with them, joking around and messing with them.

He smokes from time to time and drinks ALOT of coffee to try and stay awake for his own sanity, as grueling nightmares of his past horrid actions still haunt him to this day. Vincent tries his best to forget as he has been forgiven, and also make up for what he has done, but some habits are hard to break and some wandering spirits are still after his second chance of life ... .

Rick, the Shadow Man.

A friendly and helpful individual that would give his life for his friends. Don't take him as a fool, Rick might look like your average goody two shoes, but the moment somebody harms him or his friends Rick pulls off his kiddie gloves. His Ghost-Form, also known as his Shadow Form, is the most dangerious creatures somebody could face. Hvaing all the abilities as a Ghost, plus controlling shadows, hiding away in them, modifying his body, having a radar-like abilty making him aware of his sorroundings and the people around him; Rick is a force to be recken with. All these abilities he gained after his best friend, the Purple Man, killed him in a blood rush, making Rick a  haunting, vengeful Ghost and fusing with the darkness around him. Though after Rick realized how much hurt he gave Vincent he forgave him and is now walking the world with anew life and body, that doesn't gae and can heal itself.

Rick is an optimist and will always try to talk things out. He loves kids and can play the guitar very well. His past does weight hard on him, but he tries to move forward enjoy his new life with his old and new friends.

Keith, the Nightmare Man.

He might send out vibes that make people think that he's rather emotionless, non caring, maybe even easily angered. And even though Keith likes to burst out in anger or annoyance, that is all in good fun. Behind the dark facade is a really warm hearted and nice guy that cannot sit still whenever someone is crying or hurt, if just a bump or a serious injury. He has very deep expertises in both mechanical, technical and the mdeical field and is always there to support his friends and innocent people cought in the middle. Due to Vincent, Keith lost his life as well, but started to walk the wolrd again as a raging vengence dragged him back into the living world. This gave him the push to show off his skills and new abilities to form dreams to his won will, creating nightmares and even forcing people to do his bidding and create abominations that could tear appart anything he pleased ... which were his former friends, Vincent and Rick. After a violent fight though these two men showed Keith the light and he too was forgiving them for what had happened. Now he works together with his old friends, protecting his new and improving his skills even more, while stitching his friends back togetehr whenever they dare to get themselves into trouble.

Keith can be really serious about his work, but he knows how to laugh and have a good time, showing off his new creations and lovingly helping and caring about his friends. Though his past actions have created something he still curses himself for.

PG, the Purple Guy.

What can be said about this guy? He's a careless, chill and very perverted guy, that lives life without a second thought. PG looks and acts alot like an idiot, but deep down he's just as dangerious and inteligent as Vincent, as PG himself is a Purple Guy as well. His origin is from a differet Universe and due to an unfortunate circumstance he ended up as ginue pig for experiments and a slave for another's amusement. His spirit was broken ... until something happened that gave PG the will to escape and follow his new friends, Vincent, Rick and the others back to their world. With his own world destroyed and nowhere to go he wandered around and bumped into Keith,bonding with him and even becoming a memeber of the new Fazbear family. PG also died and got pulled back, but compared to the others, his Ghost form and self healing ability is broken and unstable to say the least.
