meet Digit, my hamsa hand / evil eye themed (and first ever) oddbody furby!

he’s supposed to represent a hamsa hand, a universal symbol for protection, strength and power that dates back to ancient cultures (really had to fight myself to not feel like I was bastardising it here, but it was made with love lmao). in a real hamsa hand, it has an eye that resembles the evil eye in the centre. I’ve had a small evil eye symbol charm that fell off of an old decoration laying around for ages, and I used that as his third eye.

if you’ve seen my post from a few weeks back when I was making it, you’ll know that Digit was made with a vegan faceplate, one that I made and painted myself out of clay, and I’m really really proud of how it turned out!

the thumbs on both sides of the hand weren’t supposed to look like ears, but I kind of love that it turned out like that. he’s a very strange creature and I love the final product :)

I had no idea what to name this fellow but after some brainstorming with my pals a few weeks ago, I think i'll settle on the name Bergerdorff. She/they pronouns.

Bergerdorff listens to metal and punk music and they collect bottle caps and can tabs off the street.

This one took me a long time to make but it was worth it! Definitely want to accessorize her more. Also i'm gonna do a proper photoshoot with them at some point, i've just been to lazy to take better pictures lol

berry patch was the third custom i made for anime north, but they didn't actually join us there because i gave them as a birthday gift to my friend/booth partner :)

what makes berry patch special as a longfurby is that they are completely functional! their battery compartment is accessible from the back with plastic snaps. it was a challenge to see if i could completely disassemble a furby boom without breaking any parts, and have it still work when reassembled.

however, it made me realize i couldn't find a complete 2012/boom text/photo disassembly guide online. is that something people would want? 🤔

berry patch has completely custom fur, ears, mane, and tail made from my own pattern, painted faceplate, eyelids (with little strawberries!), beak, and feet, and lots of strawberry accessories. they have a posable spine and are tightly stuffed to help them sit up better. (they're quite floppy in this picture. i added more stuffing later, but the boom parts are rather heavy -- if i had had more time, i may have chosen to add weighted beads to distribute the weight better.) i nearly managed to assemble them completely without the help of hot glue... but then i needed it at the very end for the ears 😂 it's a learning curve!

✨TUMs the Furbworm✨

My first "Oddbody" Furby I have made for myself! I had this Ty inchworm I destroyed because I tried to turn it into a clutch bag and it didn't work out. So now I made my son here TUMs.

I took the eye beads out, cut off all the glue and resewed the back, relocated an antenna, and patched one of the eye holes.

I also completely designed the eyes myself.

Eventually I may add ears to him but he's perfect right now and I love him.

TUMs is short for The Ultimate Maniacal Stink

I made this Furby quite a while ago, but it took so long to finally get nice lighting to take photos, but here he is!! :]

I think I like the name ⚘⚘ Pond Scum ⚘⚘ It goes with his colour scheme and I think he seems like a cryptic creature that could easily crawl out of a pond or swamp to go about his nightly routine. He kinda reminds me of the Swamp Ape or even a Kelpie for some reason. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
