i had a dream last night that i organized a tumblr meetup and we all agreed to go to a local bar together. so i go to the bar but it was a really busy night and i didn't want to ask every stranger "are u here for tumblr reasons" bc that's embarrassing and i'm shy. so i just got a drink and felt very awkward & hoped someone would approach me. tried to look inviting and like i was from tumblr but not like i was "from tumblr". when i left some girl stopped me to ask if i was there for the meetup but i was too shy and asked what's tumblr?
in the dream i went home to make a post about how nobody showed up to the tumblr meetup but my entire dash was people saying they'd gone to the bar but were too fucking shy to admit to being on tumblr so we'd all just had a drink and gone home
#i have very vivid usually very logical dreams due to my ptsd#i'm skipping the part where i was really nervous about what to wear bc i didn't want to wear the wrong thing#also the drinks were all pink & with umbrellas . also after this in the dream there was this guy#who had been there in a chicken costume and was ''funny'' but then he was always outside my window#down the street . in the store. etc.#just standing there . moving like he was drowning. he kept signing that he was choking#and i was too scared to help while his feathers .... floating and bloated in the dry air#.... while he begged me with his weird puffy wings. silently. choking and choking and choking. his toes barely touching down#and meanwhile im like sorry dude i gotta jump on tumblr to talk about this bar experience#dream me: okay the drowning on dry land chicken guy is fine. but i draw the line at social anxiety

men in instagram comments will be like "is anyone going to take this random content of a woman doing literally anything and make it an opportunity to share my hatred of women" and not wait for an answer
#sometimes it is vaguely on topic although still fucking stupid#e.g. just saw a play on that 'trying to show women i pass on the street that i'm harmless' trend#(done by a butch woman who gets mistaken for a man) and some guy in the comments was going on about how women being scared to encounter men#is a sign of their prejudice and comparing it to racism???#but other times it's the most random harmless content imaginable#the same content that would just be considered funny/silly/witty/engaging etc by a man#instead prompts 50 different takes on how women are stupid/selfish/annoying/worthless#talking

sometimes it's just funny how conditional passing is. I wear my big jacket or even just a slightly baggy shirt, people see my beard and immediately gender me as a fat gnc dude. I put on a mask and wear an even slightly more fitted shirt and my tits become blindingly obvious so I'm simply a quirky girl.

ever since i found out that highway gothic (typeface commissioned for use in the american highways) is optimized for legibility with just a brief glance at high speeds i cannot stop thinking abt how easily readable it is. like my eyesight isn't like immaculate or anything so i can sometimes have a hard time reading fine print but even when the roadsigns are kind of blurry they're still pretty easy to read
#the worm speaks#they use highway gothic in taiwan for english street signs too which makes sense#i never paid much attn to the highway/street fonts in america until i was in taiwan n star sent me the wikipedia page#listing out all the typefaces in use on roadsigns around the world n i was HOPING it would tell me the name of the typeface#for the cn signs in taiwan since it was such a nice cn font.... but no it didn't....#but i did pay attn to the english signs there too n now that i'm looking at the ones in america i'm like. yeah that's the same one#it's also funny bc i looked at the highway signs there n Suspected they were the same bc the numbers looked the same and i was RIGHT#easily one of my Top Ten Most Useless Niche Skills Ever#others of which include 'knowing if a rubber band will snap quickly after stretching it once' (for obvious reasons)#'knowing the quality of a sheet of paper just by touching it' and 'can get full combos on rhythm games whilst walking around'#(the latter is bc i played mallet percussion in marching band so i had to obviously track my place in the bloc whilst playing)
