So many of our ancestors were raised to do needlework/emboidery sewing etc as a requirement for life. To show their skill. To show they were refined. To show they would make a suitable wife. For so many other reasons.

Now imagine taking these same people and showing them variegated floss, glow in the dark floss, or floss with glitter in it. Then explaining to them that you'd be using this to stitch Optimus Prime wearing a flower crown. I'd imagine a few would be proud.

God speed to all of the American cross stitchers out there. We are now in the season where you have to choose between Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Halloween Wips, not to mention all of the summer patterns not yet finished. Like, how do you choose!?

adhd and concentration is so funny. no I cannot sit still at any given time. no I cannot concentrate on one thing if I'm only doing *one thing* I must have all of my senses taken up. i am bored unless im watching/listening to multiple things AND fiddling with something. but yes I can sit and sew for seven hours straight no problem :3
