As your local anime watcher I am inclined to inform the fs community that a new skating anime has started airing.

Unlike YOI with all the Grand Prix antics and homoerotism, Medalist is about a young 11 year old skater trying to make her mark after starting late with her coach, a former flop ice dancer.

#so if you start seeing anime clips flooded in our tag now you know 😭#I thought it was very funny that the anime decided to come out the year before Olympic season #and unlike yoi it’s an adaptation not an anime original and the manga has won awards so creditable stuff #plus I think it’s refreshing to see skating media not centred around adults #as it really bashes out the formative years that shape an athlete #*meant to say hashes I’m not typing that sentence over sorry #haven’t watched the first episode yet but it’s out for anyone who wants to peep and see!#plus from the synopsis I also really like that it’s about skaters starting later on after being told that they were ‘too old’#figure skating #medalist
