Everything You Need To Know About The Ultimate HKS JDM Toyota GR Supra!

At Vivid Racing we have the privilege of building and experiencing some wild cars. Some are built for style, while many are built to try and produce the most power within a restrictive and rather small budget. For this blog, we had the pleasure of diving head-first into HKS’s Toyota GR Supra on our home turf. The way that sounds doesn’t seem to give it much justice. This isn’t any ol’ A90 spec’d with a laundry list of aftermarket bolt-ons. This MKV GR Supra was tastefully built to showcase HKS’s full MK5 Supra portfolio at the 2020 SEMA Show and Tokyo Auto Salon. For a legendary Japanese company like HKS, this build isn’t something that was to be taken lightly. They need to make an interruption and that is what they set out to do when building this car.

If you aren’t familiar with HKS Co. Ltd, they are an aftermarket automotive company based in Fujinomiya, Japan. The company specializes in creating high-performance parts designed for Japanese-made vehicles. HKS stands for Hasegawa, Kitagawa, Sigma. The brand was founded in 1973 by Hiroyuki Hasegawa, who used to work with Yamaha Motor Company, along with his partner Goichi Kitagawa and was financed by Sigma Automotive. The initials of the three were used to create the HKS brand. In today’s world, HKS is considered one of the gold standards for creating some of the highest quality aftermarket performance parts for Japanese Domestic Market vehicles.

The company has its humble beginnings in a small shed at the foot of Mount Fuji, catering to gasoline-powered engines used for farming. In 1974, they were the first company to introduce a turbocharger for commercial vehicles, and it was a hit, especially for those Japanese tuners who wanted more out of their vehicles. Today, HKS has become the brand everyone knows about when it comes to performance adders and has expanded its reach worldwide

Earth is Space Australia, “Plagues of Earth.”

I finally got to write an earth is space Australia ft. (Australia) lol. I hope you guys have fun, i enjoyed making this, though I had less time than I wanted to elaborate.

Also inspired by a cover of “The Plagues of Egypt” Done by Johnathan Young in a heavy metal style. I would suggest listening to it when you think about this piece.

Also, sorry if I said anything inaccurate about anyone’s country. I had less than two hours and a quick google search for facts

“Their planetary defense is strong, but they prepare for battle on a large scale.If we bring our troops to the surface in small drop ships, and lead their military carriers away by attacking their nearby colony. We will take the planet.”

“What would be the point of this?”

“Humanity is held up as deity by the rest of the galaxy. As long as they fight, the GA fights with them. But if we destroy them, crush their planet at the source, then we crush the morale of the rest of the galaxy.”

“Where do we drop out soldiers?”

“Everywhere, on every major landmass, near every major city. But we do it quietly, drop them into the wilderness first so the humans won’t see them coming.”

“If we can defeat the humans, we can defeat them all.”

Location: Upper-Mid Merianda (Previous US/Canada border rocky mountain region)

The burg landed in the thick forests of the north. The human planet was lush and green, and the temperature was moderate, though it leaned slightly towards cold under the canopy of branches. There were sounds everywhere, the chattering of wildlife and strange flying creatures flitting through the trees. The nearest human residence was not far off, maybe a ten cycle march down hill.

They would reach it in no time, and make their sneak attack.

Their team commander barked his commands to the following Burg soldiers and together they began making their way down the hill.

None of them noticed when things began to go wrong.

They had never been to earth, and so were not aware of the sudden silence in the forest that comes before a coming storm.

You see, the Burg are similar to the Iotans, in that they give off a pungent smell. Not so pungent as it tends to affect humans, but pungent enough to affect the nearby wildlife. A wildlife that was not pleased with their presence.

It might have been fine, if they hadn’t stumbled into the den.

It started with a light squeaking. A sound that gave them pause as they looked around for the source. One of the burg pushed aside a green fern to reveal a hole dug into the embankment. He would have investigated if it weren’t for the loud piercing howl that echoed through the trees just to their right.

They all leaped upright in confusion and fear backing into a circle.

Another howl pierced the forest from their left, another form their right. Until they were surrounded by the sound. Shapes flitted through the trees, furry on all fours and hunched.

A howl from directly behind them.

They spun in place.

As the wolf leaped from the top of the embankment her teeth flashing.

As it turns out wolf pups are fond of Burg flesh

New Brazilia (Somewhere in what was once central Brazil, Border rain forest district)

This was the perfect climate, nice warm, dark and moist, shady below the trees that towered overhead in great twisting arcs. The foliage below them was very thick and hard to cut through as they made their way towards the human colonies. This was surely going to be their element, and they laughed at the idea of making the humans suffer as they waded their way through the trees.

The ground before them opened revealing an embankment on the side of a river. There was a hole in the foliage here, and the ground was dry. The burg stepped down onto this spot, their feet crunching slightly in the dirt.

One of them slapped absently at one of it’s segmented legs, brushing away a small insect that had crawled onto its body. Another party member did the same.

One of them even shrieked in pain, “It bit me!”

They looked down brushing the little black bugs off their bodies, only to find that the ground was absolutely swarming with them. One of the Burg shrieked, and tried to run his entire body now covered with hundreds of these little black creatures, however he tripped and fell onto his face.

His entire body was black.

The others began to scream as well, swatting at their bodies and their weapons falling to the riverbed as they were overrun by a massive troop of army ants.

They would never make their destination.

United Slavic Districts (North/eastern Russia)

This forest was both humid and somewhat cold. It was early morning in the summer, and yet frost still built up on the leaves of the plants overhead. The burg weren’t particularly pleased about this, but they were going to have to deal with it.

It was best to keep moving at times like this, and they hurried their way through thick banks of early morning fog towards the not-to-distant human civilization. Their feet were nearly silent over the frosty forest floor dirt compressing under foot.

They had been walking for some minutes when they heard the sound. A strange mournful cry from the woods almost like the cry of a human infant, though slightly deeper. THe sound made them excited. Where they were infants there were likely humans. And who knows that could be a human noise.

They followed the sound looking about the foggy forest.

The noise came again, so close.

Ah, and there it was, though they were disappointed to find it was not a human at all, but two fuzzy brown animals no bigger than waist height. They were so small, so pathetic and pitiful and they cried out in terror when the burg approached.

One of the burg raised it’s weapon angry.

The bellow came echoing through the trees rending the very air around them and sending birds scattering into the sky.

The burg turned on their heels as the massive brown bear came charging out of the forest bellowing her teeth flashing.

As it seemed the great land, of what was once, Russia was not pleased with their presence.

East Trans African Belt (former Ethiopia)

It was hot and dry, and the burg didn’t like it. But at least the ground was mostly flat, and the dirt was easy to navigate. Tall grasses raised to either side of the shallow river just to their left. Animals grunted off in the distance and the sky above was bright and blue. Dust rose up from their feet as they made their way towards the edge of the river, hoping that the water would help to moisten up the air around them.

The grunting grew louder.

They glanced over seeing large bulbous shapes in the water. It didn’t much matter to them, and they mostly ignored the creatures, knowing that anything that big was likely to be equally slow. They were making their way up the riverbank now, and the creatures rested in the water just to their side.

Distant grunting grew louder.

One of the burg was standing just next to the bank now when the water exploded casing great droplets into the air as the Hippo burst from the river mouth open wide at it’s four foot extension and bit down upon the unsuspecting burg dragging him violently into the water.

The others tried to run, slipped on the mud, and were set upon by the rest of the family.

Southern Indasia (India)

The river bank was calm, nothing but floating logs out on the distant water. One of the burg officers was listening to her communications. There were reports form all across the human’s home planet, that many of their parties had gone radio silent. She wasn’t entirely sure what that could mean but it worried her. Many of them had been traveling along river pathways just like her and her group, and she wondered if that had anything to do with their current situation.

One of the young burg stood at the edge of the water kicking stones into its murky green depths.

“We should definitely move along from this area.” She was saying moving back up the bank and towards the forest of trees.”

One of he logs had floated closer to shore.

The young burg agreed and bent down to retrieve his weapon from the bank.

A moment later his head had disappeared vanished inside the mouth of a crocodile who then began to spin violently dragging the burg into the water. Alerted to the frenzy others came as well racing up onto the bank.

There was never any evidence that the Burg had visited india, though there were reports about strange noises by the river that morning.

Australia (still just Australia)

They came as the sun was rising. A low mist had coated itself over the land, though the day was lucking to be annoyingly hot.

They were just coming up to the edge of the human settlement when they saw it. A distant shape silhouetted between two trees. At first it looked like a man, but as the fog drew back they found a strange creature staring back at them.

One of the burg snorted.

The thing looked like a Tesraki almost, but dumber and a bit taller with large pointy ears, an absolutely massive trunk, and a very long back tail that it used like a Tesraki to stand on iits back legs.

One of the Tesraki crouched down in the foliage resting his hand on a low garden wall.

“Just shoo it off.” Their commander ordered, and two of the Burg moved up to confront the dumb looking creature.

Three things happened at once.

First the crouching burg cursed violently flicking his hand and tossing the angry funnel web spider into the bushes.

A hiss rose up from the leaves.

And the kangaroo violently kicked the first burg in the chest collapsing his carapace beyond repair before moving over to stomp his friend.

The death adder struck.

Two of the Burg were convulsing on the ground, another two lay silent and broken. The next two ran off in different directions, one towards the nearby beach and the other back into the forest.

No one is entirely sure what happened after that. All we know is one was found belly up at high tide near the docks where blue ringed octopus are known to be found, and the other was completely gone, though they did spot a rather bloated and very happy looking python chilling in the bushes not far from where the incident occurred.

More and more berg had stopped answering their calls.

Most of the burg would never find out what happened.

But we do.

Burg were found dead all over the world.

A young girl reported a burg attack in the outskirts of London, though her rottweiler had made quick work of that enlisting another pack of suburban dogs to protect the little girl from the freaky bug things.

Alligator attacks in Florida.

Six burg were found plowed over by a speeding bullet train in Japan.

in Lower Mid Mericanda, a group of self-claimed hillbillies with cutoff sleeves and unironic mullets were speeding through the forests on the back of four wheelers taking pot shots at anything remotely burg shaped. They had at least ten confirmed kills, and the creatures never made it out of the swamp.

Another group of burg had made the mistake of landing in one of the last nuclear fallout zones in eastern europe, and ended up cooked by the radiation, their bodies to remain rotting there until cleanup finally made it to the site. It was likely they didn’t last more than twenty minutes.

A surfer off the coast of New Zealand watched a school of dolphins ravage a group of burg who had through a water approach would be more prudent. He had no idea how the dolphins knew the burg were intruders, but they seemed very interested in helping out.

One group of burg had managed to land themselves in a city in the european provinces, and found themselves beaten to death violently by a group of drunk civilians carrying improvised weapons, one of them even brandishing a pool cue.

Two more teams froze to death before they reached their destination.

Another was washed away by a minor flood.

One of the burg ended up tipped off a cliff by a massive eagle, falling to his death hundreds of feet below.

Another entire group managed to walk their way into a patch of poison ivy breaking out in horrible boils, which later necrosed as they lay paralyzed on the forest floor.

Somewhere someone was trampled by a moose, while their other friends were whisked over a waterfall.

In yellowstone (yeah it still hasn’t blown up yet bc the vents are a good pressure release) at least another team of burg found themselves cooking in the natural hot springs after ignoring the signs that said (keep on the walkway).

Those who chose to land in the city were not greeted cordially either, packs of marauding street dogs, gangs, the homeless, drunk civilians, angry policemen, and a high school baseball team supported by the high school chess team.

Long and short of the story is that earth was-not-having-it.

The burg had made a grave mistake.

Mother earth was fond of her children, even the human ones.

“Ah.. I can’t really pick one.. I um.. reminisce too much.. and I cherish all the memories I make, both the good and bad.

But... If I r-really had to choose.. Thinking back on how far everyone has come.. The very first meal we had after we defeated Emet-Selch... Not just our party, but with the scions too! There are many points in my life where I believed we were going to die... But with every battle, every step we take forward.. it just makes me more grateful that we’re still alive.. still here to fight the better fight.”

🌸- what is your favorite flower?

🎂- if you had 3 wishes, what would they be?

“O-Oh.. W-well assuming that I can’t ask for more wishes...I would wish for an end to Garlean occupation in nations they’ve invaded.

My second wish.. I-I’d wish for any remaining ascians to stop their attempts at a rejoining! T-that may be selfish of me.. especially after... after I’ve learned much about their motives.. and why they would seek to destroy our star in order to restore their own.. B-but.. I-It is as Alphinaud said! Our lives... the memories we have of our homes.. It’s not any less important than the lives of the past that were lost!

O-Oh.. that got a little serious there.. but.. um.. I’d use my third wish.. to become stronger! Strong enough.. to be able to better protect others.. and be more useful. As I am now.. I’m just..n-n-not good enough.”

“A-ah.. Habits.. Um.. Well.. L-let’s see.. I tend to.. avoid crowds..? I-I have a habit of writing in my journal whenever I get a new task and... Um.. I-I visit the twin adders barracks a lot.”

// Illya’s never gonna tell you her actual body language / habits she uses to cover up her feelings.. so I have to. She avoids eye contact when she’s hiding something, typically by turning her head away or tilting her head down so her eyes are covered by the shadow cast by her bangs. Another bad habit she has is skipping meals, especially if she feels like she doesn’t have enough time in the day. Thirdly, she clenches her fist a lot when she’s angry or upset, bonus if she clenches a part of her clothing or holds her fist against her chest.

💌- diary or journal?

“I don’t really have either.. though maybe I should keep a journal after everyone’s tellin’ me how forgetful I am. Just seems like a pain in the ass havin’ to write every little detail in some grimy book wherever ya go.

A diary may be fun though. I just gotta write what I’m feelin’ into it and stuff, right? ‘Dear diary, slayed another primal today, wish I had some ale right now’. Hmm.. sounds kinda boring.”

🍼- what is your favorite memory?

“Our fight with Gaius made me realize there’s an adventurer in me that I never thought was there before. Before then, I was just doin’ this adventurin’ thing for the money.. and not really cause there was any other option either. Hunt or be hunted.. that sorta thing. Never considered myself the heroic type either..

But beatin’ the livin’ crap outta Gaius and that stinkin’ Ultima toy of his, and gettin’ to have Thancred’s thanks for freeing him from ascian control.. heh, it felt... fulfilling. Bein’ called a hero is fulfillin’. But I knew I’d have died if it weren’t for the others bein’ there with me as a team. I realized then that I liked em, and that I wanted to continue fightin’ by their side.”

🌸- what is your favorite flower?

“I’m not the sort that pays a ton of attention to flowers. You askin’ for Illya or somethin’? If I had to pick.. maybe somethin’ like Chrysanthemums? They’re the best for brewin’ tea after all, right?”

🎂- if you had 3 wishes, what would they be?

“Oh man! What wouldn’t I wish for?? Lots of money? Lotsa cute girls surroundin’ me? Gettin’ Laurelis to always make her dance partner for that sweet damage boost...? Actually forget that last one, I ain’t stingy. I share my buffs with my bro with the big magic damage too, he deserves it.

Hm? Oh, yeah I guess and world peace, or whatever.. As if this kinda three wishes thing will ever come true, though.”

🕊️- 3 habits you have?

“The pals say I have a bad habit of talkin’ in my sleep but I don’t know if that’s true. Do I look like the sorta guy who’d do that? Ahh.. Also non-bards out there probably can’t relate.. but I flex my fingers a lot durin’ down times. Hey, grippin’ a bowstring for hours on the field ain’t a joke. Takes a lot of strength outta your arms, and especially cramps up your fingers, even for a pro like me!

Oh right! I was told I laugh too loudly too! But ain’t my fault that my voice’s just trained to be bold like that! I’m a goddamn bard!”

“I keep a journal of my daily routines and tabs on scores I have left to settle.”

🍼- what is your favorite memory?

“Favorite memory? That’d be.. when I saw the old man smiling so warmly up at me for the first time in twelve summers, I suppose. And I owe that smile to Illya. This debt’s the only reason why I joined them, and I’d rather not elaborate much else on that.”

// To elaborate: his clan got into a heap of trouble. Illya and Laurelis meet him for the first time after hearing that the elder of the clan, Sigfred’s grandfather needed help to fight off a rival father. The elder is caught and nearly dies, but Illya saves him and even risks her own life to supply enough aether to sustain him. Before then, Sigfred was a bit of a jerk towards her. Since then however, he feels indebted to her and thus agreed to join the two and the scions after they learn he possesses the echo too. Of all the members of the Warriors of Light squad, he has the softest spot for Illya and never yells at her.

“Don’t have any. Do succulents count? They’re low maintenance.”

“....Tch. I guess I’m as they say - too ill-tempered and brash. Think I accidentally swore in front of a bunch of kids too, but it wasn’t on purpose. I’m not afraid to admit I’m a little too reliant on caffeine.”

“GUAHAHA! Foolish mortal.. you aim to peer into the mind of a tyrant lord?? The chaos that rages in my mind.. is not one any weak minds can hope to comprehend or understand! That one would think I’d be naive enough to pen my thoughts down into physical letters... HAH!”

🍼- what is your favorite memory?

“Twas many millenias ago that the almighty god of chaos before you conquered the very depths of hell and all of the underworld’s secret magicks! Hellfire rained, tundras roared! Not even the ruins of carteneau could hope to match the anarchy I left in the wake of my conquest!!”

“DEATH TO THE WORLD! THAT RUINATION BEFALL THIS WRETCHED EARTH! FOR ARMAGEDDON!”

// He’d wish for his family to be brought back to life, for the damage done to doma to be undone and for zenos’ death. Of all my OCs, Heisuke has the biggest personal grudge against the garleans, and it’s all funneled to zenos for being an extra big pain in the ass especially of all people. There’s also the fact that he genuinely believes Zenos dying would make the world a much better place.

“NONE! Ask not such impudent questions to the lord of tyrants ever again, mortal!”

// Heisuke’s biggest habit is being the biggest liar of any of my OCs, even more than Illya. He’s a natural at acting, even for roles he doesn’t necessarily want to do. Other things he does is hide his face behind a hood, partly for the same reason as Illya in which to hide his emotions, but partly also because it looks cool. Third habit’s that he sometimes bites his lips so hard when he’s angry that it starts to bleed.

FFXIV Write 2019 #27: Palaver

Written for Prompt Twenty-Seven of @sea-wolf-coast-to-coast‘s daily writing challenge for September!

Another one I had to look up on Dictionary.com! But basically it means a meeting or some manner of extensive conversation. And, while Chachanji can be very chatty, I feel this one may also work for the other Gegenji brother...

That said, I had a bit of writer’s block in putting something together. And between that and real-life issues, I ended up missing the deadline. I still wanted to do these in chronological order, though, so I managed this and I’ll include it with the last Extra Credit day!

Gogonji shifted in his seat as the others filed in. High-ranking members of the Maelstrom, Immortal Flames, and the Twin Adders. Of the allied nations of Ishgard, of Doma, and even the ever-warring Xaelan tribes. All gathered here under a common banner, one that the elder Gegenji brother also fell under. And willingly, too, for what should be rather obvious reasons.

For they were here to combat the forces of Garlemald.

The Lalafellin tactician was not unfamiliar with these sorts of meetings, held out away from the frontlines. In a large tent not unlike the one the Alliance leadership had (foolishly, in Gogonji's mind) sought to parlay with the Emperor for peace. A parlay that ended in failure, as the Lalafell suspected. After all, why would an empire as selfish and self-important ever choose to join forces with those that they saw as their lessers? They wanted subjects, not allies.

It honestly wasn't too surprising to Gogonji. He personally wouldn't have even bothered, unless he could've finagled some additional useful information out of the Emperor. But he wasn't even called in for that - instead they brought in that brutish Warrior of Light fellow. Though, if things came to blows in there, that one would've likely been able to bring the leader of Garlemald to his knees. Which would've either ruined the Garlean leadership as they fought amongst themselves to determine who would take the Emperor's place, or rallied them even harder against the Alliance.

What would've happened was a bit of a moot point, however. The talks failed without any overly aggressive actions within the tent itself, and all leadership returned safely to their respective factions. And so here the Lalafell was, assisting in his own unique way with the battle plans to keep the Garleans at bay at the Ghimlyt Dark. A quagmire of a battlefield to be certain, and that was before even considering the substantial forces being aligned against them. At least the raising of the Wall in the Burn limited the flight path options of Garlemald's airships, forcing them to be funneled much like the Dark funneled the ground forces.

That also meant that all the enemy's forces could be concentrated at one point. Which could be good or bad, considering. It was good in that it reduced the number of attack angles they had to worry about, and their anti-aircraft placements could more effectively cover the airspace the Garleans would attempt to use. It was bad, however, in that it also meant the entirety of the enemy forces could be aligned against them and not split over multiple points of engagement.

So they continued to have these meetings. To update on the clashes between the forces, on the gains and losses, and what they needed to do next. How they could capitalize on what they've managed, and minimize the losses on what they could not. To overcome the obstacles of the very battlefield itself and, perhaps, even turn them against the enemy. The would capitalize on every little ilm they could gain, for they risked being crushed if they did not.

The map of the battlefield was drawn and the pieces that represented each faction's forces were placed upon it. Gogonji's chair creaked as he pushed himself off and onto the dirt of the tent floor, his cane catching some of his weight. And all who had gathered circled around the war table at the tent's center.

"Ladies and gentlemen. Members and allies of the Alliance. Let us begin today's meeting."

Chapter 8

The full moon casted pale light down to the forest that rested upon the trees and warriors who padded under them. Those warriors belonged to ThunderClan as they headed towards Four-Trees for the gathering. Bluestar lead the group, behind her Lionheart followed closely, then more warriors and apprentices, and finally Tigerclaw and Spottedleaf who strolled in the far back. Spottedleaf enjoyed the seclusion that gave her the chance to look up at the stars without being interrupted. Right now, the seclusion wouldn’t give her a chance to look at the stars but instead, her and Tigerclaw could speak. Although she had plenty of time to plan out her words while Tigerclaw was on the apprentice’s assessment, she found herself unable to convey what troubled her. He was totally oblivious to that his kits would be born to Goldenflower in two moons.

Pressure was what medicine cats were trained for, but not like this. What she did next wasn’t what would determine whether a cat would live or die, this would determine the rest of their lives. If she told him, he’d stay a warrior and follow a path Spottedleaf could predict was destructive; if she didn’t tell him he’d become a medicine cat, but after he came out as the kits father, he could blame her for not telling him. Her anxiety about the issue must have been clear as Tigerclaw interrupted her thoughts.

“Spotted, you doing okay? You look like you need to lie down.”

“Oh yeah,” She broke her concentration to look up at him and show she was fine. After a moment of hesitation, she continued, “We all have our secrets, right? Things that could hurt someone if they came out.”

Tigerclaw frowned, “Yes, I have some pretty big secrets.”

“My secret is basically the opposite of yours.” She mewed, mostly to herself.

“You have a secret? I thought you were as open as the sky.”

“I have my gray clouds.”

“Of course. What, did you eat two mice once?” Tigerclaw joked and gave her a nudge, but she still seemed unnerved, “I’m sure it's nothing, at least you haven't killed anyone.”

His joking helped relax the she-cat as the group reached the clearing, the other clans, except WindClan, had already arrived. There was no trace of the meadow mongering clan, but they had been late before. Apprentices ran ahead, warriors spread out to socialize, and Tigerclaw followed Spottedleaf to the other medicine cats.

As the other medicine cats gave Spottedleaf questioning looks about Tigerclaw, Lionheart called to the tabby warrior, “Tigerclaw, come tell the story about Ravenpaw catching those adders!” Tigerclaw, obviously having no other choice, said goodbye to the she-cat and padded off to join the other warriors.

“What was he doing?” Asked Runningnose, the ShadowClan medicine cat in a wheeze. “Can’t imagine why some warrior would spend his time listening in on our conversation.”

“He and I had just been talking.” Spottedleaf explained simply, settling down among her fellow medics. “He has quite the interest in healing.”

“Obviously not that interested.” Chimed in Mudfur, his tail flicking over to the tabby tom who was enjoying himself telling stories with other warriors.

Spottedleaf swallowed down her worries that were only increased by their comments, “So any news on new herbs?” She croaked to change the subject.

On top of the rock, Bluestar stepped forward. Gray fur glimmered in the moonlight; her eyes shone but hid emotion. “Cats of all clans, welcome.” Her voice echoed around the suddenly silent hollow. “It is true that WindClan is not present, but Brokenstar wishes to speak anyway.”

The mentioned tom slid forward as Bluestar gave her spot, leaving him at the center of the rock and the point of attention. “Comrades, I come to speak to you tonight about the needs of ShadowClan--”

Quickly he was interrupted by panicked voices, questioning him about the missing clan. Loud accusations with whimpers of worry were stopped just as quick as it started, with the mighty leader’s hush. The dark brown leader stared down the crowd with his dark yellow eyes, at his full height he towered over any other warrior, including Tigerclaw. His tail lashing behind him appeared to a warning of his irritation.

“As the leader of ShadowClan, it is my right to address you here.” He yowled before settling down, “With this hard leaf-bare we have been left with little prey in our hunting grounds. But we also know that WindClan, RiverClan, and ThunderClan lost many kits in the freezing weather that came so late this season. ShadowClan did not lose kits. We are hardened to the cold north wind. Our kits are stronger than yours from the moment they are born. And so, we find ourselves with many mouths to feed, and too little prey to feed them. Our needs are simple, in order to survive we must increase our hunting territory. That is why I insist that you allow ShadowClan warriors to hunt in your territories.”

After a moment of silence and then realization, panic broke out among the clan cats. Yowling and spitting flooded the air. Their objections only continued with the news from Crookedstar he gave up RiverClan territory.

“And what of ThunderClan? Bluestar, have you too agreed to this outrageous demand?” A ThunderClan elder called to the leader.

The blue furred leader scanned the crowd, outwardly unfazed, “I have made no agreements with Brokenstar except that I shall discuss his proposal with my Clan after the gathering.”

Although the tabby leader seemed unsatisfied by the ThunderClan leader’s response, he nodded. After a moment of silence, he continued on, his voice loud and raspy, almost unaware of the unease that had settled over the gathering, “I also bring news that is important to the safety of your kits. A ShadowClan cat has turned rogue and spurned the warrior code. We chased her out of our camp, but we do not know where she is now. She is a mangy old creature, but she has a bite like TigerClan.”

Murmurs spurred up, but Brokenstar mewed on, “She is dangerous. I warn you- do not offer sheltered to her and,” he paused and seemed to be pleased by the shocked looks upon the other warriors faces, “until she is caught and killed, I urge you to keep a close eye on your kits.”

With his speech delivered, Brokenstar and the other ShadowClan warriors quickly left from the hollow. Almost immediately, there was an uproar from the ThunderClan cats who had gotten a clear idea of who this mystery rogue was, and she sat back at camp unguarded.

“I tried to tell you she was a danger to us,” hissed Darkstripe.

“She’ll eat our kits!” cried an elder, who was silenced by other elders and senior warriors.

“She seemed harmless enough,” Spottedleaf who had joined her clanmates after ShadowClan left, looked to Tigerclaw, “perhaps we’ve been tricked?” Fear sprouted in her and in the rest of the cats.

Tigerclaw tilted his head above the crowd to voice his opinion but everyone was outspoken by Darkstripe.

The dark gray tom lashed his tail and stared down Bluestar, “You have to listen to reason now and get rid of her before she harms any of our young!”

With a sideways glance and a thoughtful look, she led the group over the hill and straight to camp, wasting no time in walking. Under the moon, they all rushed home to face this apparent unknown danger.

Through the gorse tunnel into camp came the cats- Bluestar first, Lionheart not a fox-length behind her, Frostfur and Willowpelt who raced after the deputy, then the others. Frostfur charged past all other cats into the nursery, her silver fur stood on end from alarm.

Tigerclaw funneled in camp, Spottedleaf at his side. “I’m going to go keep Darkstripe from, well, being Darkstripe.” The tall tabby told her, breaking away.

She watched as the entire camp burst to life, cats who once were asleep woke in the commotion. In a glance she caught Firepaw emerge in the cluster from a den and go to his friend, he was the most unnerved by the whole situation.

“Brokenstar has demanded hunting rights for ShadowClan in our territory!” Longtail yowled in response for some question the medicine cat hadn't caught.

“And he warned us about a rogue cat who will harm our kits!” Added Willowpelt. Her fur was bristled as she cried, “It must be Yellowfang!”

“Silence!” Ordered Bluestar who stood upon the high stone, her icy look halted the outbursts and instinctively cats gathered around to hear what she would say. As she began a loud yowl interrupted her as Darkstripe pulled the elderly she-cat from her nest into camp, being yelled at by Tigerclaw with every yank. She shrieked furiously as she was dumped in front of Highrock. The meeting was tense and silent except for Yellowfang who swiped at the dark tom and released several yowls of warnings before calming and turning to Bluestar.

“What is going on.” Demanded Bluestar, with a few leaps she landed next to the gray she-cat, her gaze of anger did not settle upon the ‘danger’, but on her own clanmates. “I gave no order to attack our prisoner.”

Darkstripe backed up a few paces, “We need to throw her out.” He said sternly, unleashing his claws as cats around him whispered their agreements. “We should kill her now!”

The leader squinted at him, “And what has she done?” her voice was as calm as the river on a clear night but as icy and cold as the frost.

Despite his rebuttals, Bluestar was prepared for each one, the leader made it clear there would be no hostility towards Yellowfang. The kits were safe and she had not committed any crime. ThunderClan stood alone against ShadowClan and the word of Brokenstar could hardly be trusted.

Finally, the leader announced, “I shall travel to the MoonStone tomorrow. The warriors of StarClan will give me the strength I need to lead ThunderClan through this dark time. Rest now, as daylight comes, we will have a lot to do.”

Westerosi Worldbuilding Wednesday: Hidden History of Dorne: Lost Lore (Part II)

Ø Letter #8: The Daynes tried to seize Oldtown because its harbor was superior to theirs. The Fowlers tried to seize Starpike and Horn Hill, which would give them access to the Cockleswent. The Yronwoods tried to seize all of Dorne. (They were attacked by House Dayne, House Fowler, House Dryland, House Condor, House Drinkwater, House Wyl, and the High King of the Greenblood*.) (*The first time they tried to do this.) The Yronwoods tried to conquer the Dornish Marches, which would give them access to the river Slayne. (They were aided by the Vulture Kings of House Condor.) (They were opposed by the Vulture Kings of House Condor.)

Ø Letter #9: The Kingdom of the Western Marches was brought down by Yronwood aggression and infighting.

Ø Letter #10: House Yronwood was founded by an adventurer who claimed to be half-divine. That did not save him from Vermithrax's wrath*. His son searched for the Old Man of the Mountain. Together they slew Vermithrax. The bones were used to build a throne**. It was known as the Wyrmbone Chair. (*Vermithrax was the last dragon in Westeros.) (*He stole from the dragon's treasure horde.) (**The bones were gilded.) (**He was offered the dragon's heart. He refused it***.) (***"There is power in dragon's blood. Dangerous power.")

Ø Letter #11: House Wyl was the Bloodroyal's first major vassal. (Edmund IV was the last of the Adder Kings.) (He was called by his enemies Black Edmund.) (His mother was the warrior-maid, Wylla of Wyl.)

Ø Letter #12: House Greenblood was brought down by an alliance between House Shell, House Shore, House Wade, House Briar, House Brook, House Bay, House Brownhill, House Holt, House Hull, and House Lake. (House Greenblood was brought down because of its many cruel deeds.) (They ruled a third of Dorne.) (They owned the only dam.) (When they fell from power it was destroyed.) (The riverine houses banned hereditary succession.) (It took two thousand years for the riverine realm to collapse.) (That same year House Yronwood achieved an amazing victory at the Godspring*.) (*This made them the most powerful house in Dorne.) (*House Drinkwater became the Bloodroyal's second major vassal.)

Ø Letter #13: The riverine realm collapsed due to a disputed election. (It was decided by a single vote.) (The single vote belonged to a simpleton.) (House Yronwood funneled gold and supplies to whichever side looked to be losing.) (They then tried to conquer the riverine realm. House Fowler allied with House Dayne. House Dayne betrayed House Fowler*. House Fowler allied with House Manwoody, House Dryland, House Shell, and House Wade. House Yronwood allied with House Lake, House Briar, House Brook, and House Blackmont.
