my therapist gave me a whole ass book to read before next week. I can’t even get myself to read the books I’ve already got, my dude!

I was in the mood for scallops so I made a vegetable fried rice with way too many scallops!! Delicious 😋 Gordon Ramsay is right... cook scallops in a non-stick pan. It was a delight, and they browned nicely. Igotta work on my plating, for sure. I'm sooooooo full of scallops that I think I need a nap. 😁😊😍😋

I love eating a varied diet that involves mostly fresh foods and mostly home cooked meals. it rocks and it adds so much to my life.

#favourite lyrics #heaven on their minds #carl anderson #jesus christ superstar #tim rice #andrew lloyd webber #1973 #ost #ok so we all have our (understandable) beef with Andy L W (and with tim fried rice‚ come to that) but I'll go to bat for JCS #they did an awful lot of things right on Superstar‚ not least in acknowledging the political elements of the christ story that are so often #conveniently forgotten. likewise the complex and multi layered characterisation of Judas (all too easily rendered a pop culture boogey man #in contemporary treatments) as an activist whose personal doubts about jesus' transformation are quite justifiable #murray head was a fine judas on the original concept album but the casting of Anderson for the film adaptation was inspired #he brings an agonised internal conflict to the role‚ torn between his love of the man (and absolutely that love can be read as romantic;#another galaxy brain moment from Webber and Rice is giving Judas lines and refrains that mirror Mary's) and his hate of the hollow #spectacle. judas is not evil in JCS; he's a revolutionary but a pragmatist‚ a man whose concern for a righteous cause indirectly #blinds him to a greater issue that he doesn't see. and how could he?#casting a black actorbas Judas in a predominantly white production could be construed as a problematic association‚ were it not for the #fact that judas is such a well developed‚ sensitively written part. as it is‚ it lends greater meaning to certain lines: when Judas asks #the white Jesus whether he cares for his race (note your race‚ not ours) it sharpens an already pointed lyric. Jewison's film is full of #highly politicized imagery (shooting in Israel in the early 70s; giving the Roman soldiers shining tin helmets that are much closer to US #army style than anything historical) and it's tempting to read references to the civil rights movement into the casting of Anderson as the #most politically astute character; tempting too to wonder at Judas' fear of going too far (reminiscent of very contemporary idealogical #splits within the civil rights movement between peaceful protest and more militant action) and again to note that Judas #as a black man is more conscious of potential reprisal and fallout than his white countrymen #whether the musical sides with judas or not is another interesting question; his story follows the biblical figure's‚ ending with his #suicide‚ but I've always been fascinated by his return for Superstar (the song): dressed amazingly‚ descending from a shining star #utterly defiant‚ wild eyes locked onto the camera as Anderson starts to sing. it's as much a moment of vindication for Judas as it is an #end to Christ. an incredible performance by a supremely talented performer.

The only problem with doing exercise is that I’m now hungry ALL the time

#i was a hungry gal before but now?? i feel like i could devour whole worlds #i had tea early. i had four black bean tacos and i feel like they didn’t even touch the sides #if someone invited me out for dinner i’d go and i’d be able to eat a big plate #i’m sitting here like can i justify second tea??? supper. is that something #i could make pasta or something. or eat the rest of the taco filling. that’s supposed to be for lunch tomorrow 🙃🙃🙃#if i make the tacos i’m PILING them with all the lettuce in the hopes that something will fill me up #oh i could make popcorn. it’s not exactly filling but i have it and i’m not saving it for anything #god i wish i had some tofu. i’m craving fried tofu and sticky spicy sauce so so badly but i don’t have any fucking tofu #i have all the components of the sauce though!! which is so annoying. i remembered to buy five spice BUT NOT TOFU I HATE IT HEEEERE #i need to convince someone to drive me into town just to buy tofu. or take the bus but god that’ll be annoying #it’s the last saturday of the easter holidays so my town will be full of tourists running about wild and i’m liable to not be able to move #for their nonsense #but god what’s the alternative. eat random bullshit that is in my house? or i could see if the shop in the village has tofu #i fucking highly doubt that it does but it won’t hurt to check. and i might find something good to eat #i don’t get food delivered until sunday :( and there’s very little food in my house and nothing that i like #i’m even out of curry sauce paste. and harissa. i had to make the tacos with gochujang. jesus #maybe i should make halloumi fried rice tomorrow and just see what happens #personal

unironically I do need 10 hours of sleep to be happy and also everybody I love are getting farther and farther away from me and I don't love that many people

in the process of writing the tags I have come to the conclusion that this might just be caused by my first ever romantic rejection followed by being ignored completely in combination with a complete and utter lack of money. I am simply a joyless creature because I have not wallowed and I have not bought a box of twinkies and cheap chinese food.

#is this depression or some other secret thing #because it really does not feel like depression #but at the same time every day is an endless loop and every week is full of these endless loops of endless days #and i am having a hard time finding joy in anything and cleaning is hard and it is so hard to enjoy food #i have no dishes in my bedroom and there is no mold on my bedside table from a months old container of applesauce #but loving is getting harder and harder by the day and i am so terribly full of anger and hatred and disdain #wait actually i think this might just be caused by my lack of takeout #haven't had a good plate of fried rice crab rangoons and kind of tough fried chicken pieces since last year
