imagining this very funny totally amusing bit where dust (despite having a lot of pockets) makes horror carry a lighter for him (only because he can't be bothered to remember to bring one on him all the time) and horror keeps it in his head

but horror's a dick so everytime dust wants to smoke and he needs a light horror's always like "whats the password :3" (he actually said the emoticon i was the quotation marks) and dust has to guess. because horror changes it every time. and its never something predictable. and then he either just totally gives up on that cig or he has to forcefully dig into horror's head to get the lighter because horror's being a PRICK

now dust is shoulder deep into horror's eyesocket while horror is clawing and screaming and killer's just standing there behind them watching this unfold with that fuckass smile on his face (he can't get this type of entertainment anywhere else)

i keep being like im too crazyinto this i need to cool down and stop drawing in a frenzy but when i see something i hate im like Fuck... I need to draw something to balance out the world... I’m not defending Billie in the least or anything, and she is an adult and is responsible for her words and actions, but I’m just saying… She was a child star whose family’s entire existence revolves around her career and has since she was a young teenager. Which can be lovely for support, sure, but could also lead to limited outside guidance or perspective on her career. (Look, I know little about her family other than watching her documentary on Apple a few years ago.) I’m just saying there could be an echo chamber of influence in her circle leading to people enabling short-term resentment and pettiness instead of calculating how to play the long game. The fact that her own management was obtuse enough to be liking unsavoury tweets about another high profile artist on a public account is evidence enough that her larger team’s judgment is perhaps not the best to put it mildly.

Obviously it’s not a great look to vocally criticize *checks notes* selling more physical copies of albums, selling special digital editions of albums, releasing long form content and putting on an intricate show for fans when that’s the industry standard that you have to aspire to, and more importantly, even worse to make it seem you’re above it all while actively pursuing some of those things. Eventually she (along with any other artist coming up) is going to have to find that you do in fact have to show you care to have the kind of longevity that the big names have. She might just skate through this one because her fanbase is young and will support her, but eventually, she will have to have the product to back this all up.

I don’t know what I’m really saying here other than who you surround yourself with absolutely matters.

In an alternate time, S3 still has Emma on the show and Cleo still gets the same character arc of maturing and becoming more responsible, something that Emma initially approves of (while Rikki sarcasticly makes jokes out of the fact that Cleo is no longer her "Sloth buddy" and is now a "Study bee" like Emma of course), however, over time as Cleo's grades improve and it becomes easier for her to grasp concepts, Emma starts feeling Jealous and threathened by Cleo, and starts studying obsessively in order to ensure she is number one, her jeaulosy reaches a breaking point when Cleo gets better grades than her at a SCIENCE- related subject (subject that cleo historically was always bad at) at which point she does active recall (flashcards) obsessively thinking that way she will be able to "win" Cleo, whilst Cleo has developed better study methods by using more than one in order to learn better (i'm aware this doesn't happen in S3 and Cleo is still sloppy at study methods but we need Emma to be interesting ok?), Emma's jeaulosy makes her eventually despise Cleo as she views her as everything she wants to be and is not, causing her (and not Rikki) to keep the Water tentacle encounter in S3E16 a secret.

Emma's (and Cleo's) arc reaches full circle in S3E26, as Cleo receives her dux in science, Emma is visibly upset but tries to hide her discomfort as the trials and tribulations of S3 made her realize she can't always be number 1.

(Rikki can be the person that shows Emma how to be comfortable not being numer 1 i guess, she was always the more laid-back person of the bunch)

TL; DR:

Emma:

Want: To be perfect, number 1 at everything in life using the same study methods that have historically worked for her.

Need: To understand that she won't always be number 1 in life, and that she needs to step out of her comfort zone if she wants to be better in life.

i actually made a huge amount of progress today and the game is all but done, which is wild! literally the only thing i have left to do for the game itself is make an intro screen, which i'm not doing tonight because i forgot to make the art for it earlier. (i'll do it tomorrow probably.)

unfortunately, as i was looking at the export options to see how it worked, i realized that i fully ignored a warning that i definitely had seen: the new version of godot can't export for web if the project is using C#. my options are to export only for downloadable versions (not ideal for a short game), try to open/export the project in an older version of godot, or rewrite the C# code in GDScript. i'm actually leaning towards the latter; since i ended up using some GDScript for the dialogue system, i got a bit of a handle on it, and none of my functions should be too difficult to convert. and half the point of this project is to learn how to use godot! GDScript is better supported overall, it's probably something i'll have to learn to use more if i continue using godot. so despite myself, i'm not feeling too bad about having to potentially rewrite a bunch of code.
