God imagine how traumatized she’d be from seeing someone be murdered in front of her. She’s already so emotionally vulnerable right now and it doesn’t help that the others are “comforting” her by saying how they’re in the right. This is sure to stir up paranoia for her

I’d imagine that this would turn into nightmares which would then turn into many sleepless nights. Many would think that the long hours of her job are making her tired but the people close to her, like Drayden, would know that she’s acting paranoid everyday and getting less and less sleep from nightmares, not her job. On maybe the 4th or 5th night of restless sleep Drayden finally convinces Iris to tell him what’s happening. What’s scaring her so much that she can’t go a full night without waking both of them up with her nightmares. And she’s just clinging to him and trying not to cry when she tells him what she saw, what happened, what they said, and who did it

She’s scared that they’ll do something to her if she tells anyone. That they’ll hurt her or even go as far as to kill her for telling others what they’ve been doing. But she’s tired, scared, and feeling like something is constantly watching her. So she lost the mental battle in her head and told him everything. But…she’s in Unova, away from all the other champions who terrify her. She’s safe from harm and far, far away from them. There’s no way they could know what she’s told him

Oh how wrong she was

Now imagine how defeated she’d feel when she comes home the very next day from work, thinking she’s safe now that Drayden has reported it. But when she walks inside their house she sees him on the floor, not moving. With some of the champions waiting around for her to show up. And now Diantha is standing in front of her, speaking to her like a disappointment mother. Telling her that she has no reason to be crying, because if you step out of line then there is always going to be consequences

God the irony of Diantha being the one to say there's gonna be consequences while probably being the only champion who hasn't faced any consequences from her actions just makes me so fucking insane ncmdhxmd

But also yknow just jcmxndm Dia acting all motherly to Iris tho, crouching down to her level and hugging her, telling her that they had to do what they really had to do, they can't let anyone interfere with them. You should know better. And she's there, cupping her face, wiping away her tears, telling her to calm down, to stop crying, there's no use crying over someone who couldn't even defend himself while being called the Spartan Mayor of Opelucid. But Iris was still sobbing, Drayden was family, her only family, and even tho it's not by blood, she still loves him. And suddenly... Suddenly he's gone. His body unmoving as the other Champions approach her and Diantha.

Dia just pulls her close to her, going on how it'll all be fine, perhaps it was even Drayden that's holding her back on becoming a true Champion, but Diantha kept that thought within her for the meantime, if you want a child to believe you, tell them the things they want to hear.

And soon, Iris could feel Lance next to them, his arms around them too, pulling them close to him, and he's there telling Iris that she shouldn't worry too, that they're her family now too, and they were just looking out for her.

God Iris was just so so tired man, she's so fucking tired, she's physically and mentally drained, and she just melted in their touch, finally caving in, letting them comfort her. And god as twisted as it was, she somewhat felt a bit safe under their embrace.

But also imagine how the people of Opelucid and the Unova League would react tho ncmxnx like, that's their mayor, a gym leader too, and suddenly he's dead and Iris is mourning and the other champions are there to help her and such. But like, imagine if that'd stir up some rumours tho, especially given Lance and Leon's images towards the public now, that maybe they actually killed Drayden. Imagine a few people of Opelucid pulling Iris away from the champions a bit and telling them what they thought what happened, but Iris already knew, and if she had to be honest she doesn't wanna see anyone else dying, so she tells them that "no, grandpa was just.. struggling with health issues for a while now.. he was always so stubborn he didn't wanna go to the hospital.. maybe that's just it.."

And ofc, they believed her, no use insisting their theories and rumours are right, especially to the actual granddaughter of the person they're talking about, who they know is still mourning over the loss of her grandfather. So instead, they nodded and told her if there's anything they can do to help her and the rest of the League, she could just ask for their help.

But like, imagine Iris being so bitter abt that tho. Now they try to help her? It only took Drayden's death for them to help her? For them to see her as an actual person and not just some kid who kept insisting she's mature enough to be a champion? It actually made her laugh a bit, a pitiful chuckle really, and she drags herself back home, back where all the champions are waiting for her.

Okay, so I don't really know how to collect my feelings on this episode because it was a lot. Like episode one, they threw about as much in as they could in the time frame, making it feel a little bit rushed. Just as I started getting my head around one thing, it jumped to the next. That doesn't mean it's all bad though. It kept me on my toes.

Once again, this episode didn't feel particularly self-contained. They seem to have drifted more into this being serial rather than episodic, but we'll see how it goes as the season progresses.

There's been some interesting things set up in these first few episodes, so I'm excited to see where this season goes. This may be an episode I need to look back on to fully grasp what I even watched because so much happened. 🤣 Din got his ass kicked a lot this episode.

I definitely think I prefer Chapter 17 rn, but I still found this episode enjoyable! Part of it may be because the most recent episode of TBB was so good that Ch 18 didn't hit quite as hard.

Loving the chaotic father-son dynamic though and I'm very curious to see where we go from here because I do not have a clue.

Finished the Raven cycle and I had a lot of thoughts but I actually can’t remember anything that happened apart from very specific scenes???? Also I am very heavily in favour of Gansey as he is definitely my absolute favourite but the other two are quite horrible to him for a lot of the book considering 9/10 times he’s genuinely trying to help and they are aware he’s trying to help and doesn’t mean to flash the cash and I just ???? Don’t get it?? Maybe cos I am a fully developed woman in her late 20s and I would just not let someone I care about speak to me like they do sometimes no matter how upset you are, especially if I’m trying to help you and the issue isn’t my fault to start with 😂 or maybe because I relate a lot to Gansey with feeling like my friends don’t need me like I need them so maybe I’m just projecting hahahaha

Adam especially is horrible to Gansey quite a few times where I just thought he was way out of line, even including when eventually Gansey had enough and snapped at him and was horrible back and Adam was all FUCK YOU and left the car and I feel awful for thinking it but the entire time I was like ?? So you don’t like being treated this way but you treat Gansey like this a LOT especially at the start ?? Hmm. I realise this is part of adams development, and he grew on me a lot as the series progressed but in the first two books especially I couldn’t stand him 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Also so much stuff got confusing and was so fast and unexplained or like just resolved so quickly that the pacing felt a bit wild, idk how to articulate this brain dump I’m having hahahahah

On the flip side though I genuinely loved this pure portrayal of platonic love between the gangsey, especially the three main boys and their love for each other and willingness to do anything and follow each other anywhere, because I LOVE found family stories and this one satisfied that for me!!! They’re all in love!!! Yes!!!!! The scene when Gansey and ronan went to the trial made me want to shriek I was so happy, wish it hadn’t ended so abruptly I’d have loved to have read more of that,

Bluesey was well developed too imo, the secret calls, that ONE SCENE WHERE HE HOLDS HER HAND BRIEFLY IN THE SIDE of THE PIG omg!!!!!!!! The toga party!!! Just ahh I love them, ronan and Adam were developed well too, genuinely enjoyed both couple arcs neither felt forced or ingenuine or too plot devicey (although ofc bluesey is a huge main plot point)

Henry was,,,,a total babe but like didn’t feel necessary to the plot at all ngl idk if anyone else feels that way, love him to pieces but??? He felt inserted for no reason really

Sad about Noah’s ending but enjoyed his friendship with ronan the most I think

Also idk how I feel about ronan being literally so OP that everything in the book ends up being what he created idk, when I started I kinda hoping it was the actual plot was this quest for glendower but I did feel it seems to get sidetracked WAYYYY more into the dream stuff, tho ig it did come back around to the king eventually… haha oh well

i’m rereading DE and just,,, wow, the transition between the war and the past, where you fool the reader into thinking this fic is gonna focus on the present of what happened to Uryuu but then bAM time travel bitches is just so,, *chef kiss* rhe writing is fucking impeccable, how tf did you think of that??? ive never read a single fic w that type of trope and its so refreshing and awesome to read

Hahahaha, thank you! I wanted DE to be time travel from the start, but I also wanted the specific setup where Uryuu+Ichigo merge, because I thought that idea was REALLY cool and had some nice potential that I hadn’t seen yet. But in order to get that working, I needed to start in the original timeline and progress from there. And then it took a lot longer to get where I wanted to split the timeline, since my original thought was maybe 3 chapters to get to the time travel, but then whoops, it was more like 8-ish.

ngl, I do actually have an alternate timeline for DE where timetravel never happens and there’s a bunch of aftermath that has to be dealt with. It’s... a lot angstier of a story, so I can’t write for it very often, but I’d like to someday get that posted as well.

Of course, another alternate storyline that I want to do more with is Dragon Flaps Its Wings, because I love the idea of Uryuu making his own way for 100 years, collecting kids and messing up Shinigami plans on accident XD

I prefer paper books but I don’t mind ebooks especially if I wanna try stuff out or wanna read a series for which I have... literally no space

er uhm haha I wrote stuff when I was ten actually? ngl my original stuff was better when I was ten than when I was seventeen

5) Do you have someone you trust that you share your work with?

I’ve had a bunch of betas in my life and I found them all absolutely life saving u__u lately poor @robb-greyjoy​ is getting the brunt of my ‘DOES THIS MAKE SENSE’ moments let’s give him a round of applause u_u but admittedly I did get to the point where I’m somewhat sure of what I put in the world eight times on ten, I share if I want a second opinion but otherwise I’m throwing them into the void because with the amount of shit I have on the list I’d publish a lot more slower xD

6) Where is your favorite place to write?

at home wherever since I do finally have a decent laptop but really I can write anywhere

8) Writing for fun or writing for publication?

hahahaha publication would be nice and I am sort of thinking of a few things I could go for (ie re-doing better a not-so-bad scifi dystopian thing I wrote at thirteen and the infamous pseudo-bdsm-jb-fanfic-passed-as-original which now might turning into let’s-purposefully-mock-bad-ya-tropes) but tbh rn I’m still at the fun stage, when and if I have something decent enough to publish y’all know

9) Pen and paper or computer?

both, tbh I love writing with pen and paper but then I have to type it and ugh

10) Have you ever taken any writing classes?

no, I’ve read stephen king’s on writing and it was all the english writing classes I needed to survive xD also because italian rules are... fairly different from english rules and I know that a lot of shit I do in english that in theory writing classes would discourage me from is apparently in my selling points so nah not really. I could take one for fun I guess but I’m not looking for it

11) What inspires you to write?

for now fandom but I just like creating shit and since writing is about the one creative thing I’m good at (guys I can’t art for shit) that’s pretty much it xD and fandom/fixing canon is a good enough inspiration xD
