Yeah, Aventry mentioned her. He seemed to have strong feelings for her.

But then the Dweller of Woe came, killed everyone in the mansion, and turned the town into a hellpit. I assume this is going to be the story of how that happened.

Sounds like Ewilda was the actual power on the throne while the Duke was just her enforcer. No wonder he slid so easily into that same position for Roro.

Does he have a name? Or is he just Duke Aventry?

Or. Wait. Is that his name? I've been taking it for a surname but is his name just... Aventry?

Or. Shit. Is Duke his actual name? I thought it was a title but a duchy would imply the existence of a larger kingdom to which it belongs and we don't have anything like that. There are no kings... pretty much anywhere, in fact. Ours is a world of isolated city-states with no significant form of large government of any kind.

Oh, they knew about that? Huh. I kinda figured the first impression anyone on Wraith Island had of the Fleshmancer was when the Dweller suddenly emerged and ruined everything.

But it sounds more like there was an actual war going on between the Fleshmancer's forces and Wraith Island for a while. Like they were leading the charge in keeping the horrors at bay or something.

Oh. Wait. Dead, probably. This might have been in the decades between Moraine returning as sole survivor to Mooncradle and now.

Ominous. Arrival of the Dweller? Is that a thing they would have had warning of, or....

Okay, so that's where we were. Killing everyone. SURE. THAT'S FINE.

Solar warrior sealed away Torment and then forgot everything and couldn't be arsed to even write anything down. Solar warrior randomly killing everyone on Wraith Island. And. Just. Erlina.

Why do Solar Warriors suck so bad? No offense, Zale.

Okay but why tho. Like. Erlina, I get. She did the only thing that made sense given the hopeless situation she was in. But what could this guy possibly think he was accomplishing by scorching the island at random? Was he looking for Woe?

Uh. Yeah. We're awesome. I'm more impressed that Aventry was able to hold his own and not die horribly.

This does explain why he was able to offer those tips to Zale way back when, though. He had experience fighting a fully realized Solar Warrior in the past so he could see where the gaps in Zale's style lie.

I'm still impressed that he was able to hold his own like that. He really didn't seem that tough when Zale and I were double-teaming him. I mean, there were two of us plus Serai so that might not be fair. But also, we were very green at the time.

Honestly, no blame for Duke Aventry. He was in a bad spot and the Acolytes preyed on that vulnerability. Seems to be their M.O. They did the same thing to Erlina.

Like proper cultists, they hunt among the disenfranchised and the hopeless.

That's how Roro's swamp came to be. And, presumably, where she got all those bodies for her workshop.

You know, I never thought too highly of the Acolytes but that's because my main interactions with them up to this point have been:

For me, my favorite punching bags have just been goobers who show up to offer me stress relief. This story's offering me a whole new side to them. These guys are pretty capable manipulators and effectors of political upheaval.

That post about the personal links got my brain racing oUGFFHH

Mitch has a neural port since his time in the military, for the panzer's vehicle link but also probably to connect others devices (medical check after taking the cocktails, general monitoring of their soldiers, etc etc right)

I don't headcanon him as having a personal link tho (he doesn't have any plugs models on his vanilla model but that doesn't mean much considering Panam doesn't have anything either but she can plug the panzers link as well, thats why I modded a neural link into Mitch's neck in his spinal cord to fit one of the canonically accurate neural link installation spot! and it makes sense with his high collar jumpsuit, to protect it from the sand and all yknow ANYWAY)

Valentin however DO have both a neural port (V's canon port, which is called a Frankenstein btw! cause its right under their ear :3 love that fact ehe) and a personal link that came with the gorilla arms he got installed during his wraith time (probably the main reason he was a good candidat for this particular pair of arms during the cyberware transaction with the scavengers actually)

I like to imagine that at one point into their relationship, Valentin links to Mitch port during various occasions (They already shared minds while being connected to the Panzer in the past, but directly connecting yourself to someones port is even MORE personal and intimate hfhf)

One day, while Mitch was suffering from his chronique phantom pain episode (after getting back to Arizona maybe, weather/temperature change tend to trigger scars tissues and broken bones into feeling weird) Valentin would ask him if he can link up to him, sharing the sensation while massaging at his shoulder and back to try and ease the pain a bit 😫

They obviously would link up during the more steamy love making sessions too, Valentin wanting to show him just "how good you feels"-- shivers running down Mitch's spine synchronized with his own thrust 😳

They are known inside as 75th Regiment Specters, a team created by Cpt. Marchant years after her mission in Angola with some help. She picked them personally, since she knew some of the Drill Sergeants. Heard about every one through them and learnt about their missions, later recruited into the team.

Since the very beggining they were told about the only rule Marchant had, "No one's left behind", after that they molded their own code in combat. They are efficient, quick and deadly, and that's all that their allies care about.

Also they have a coordinator and the only thing the team know about them is their nickname "Wraith". Alicia know her tho, an old friend of hers.

For everyone outside of them, they are just a good team. But reality is that after so many years, they've become a little family. Alicia care deeply for them and treat them as their own. All the boys care for her as much as she does.

There was a time when she got really bad injured during a mission (almost didn't make it), and all of them were basically feral going after the enemies seeking vengance. And the last time someone tried to use one of the boys as hostage...well, it isn't hard to imagine, is it? Marchant is feared because of a reason.

i am kind of drawn to the idea that Ava expresses her gender in relation to things/people. like yes, absolutely - she is with Beatrice in any (every) capacity.

but also that she approaches gender as something nebulous and shifting and as complicated as dressing sometimes in really feminine clothes because for so long she basically wore a hospital gown so dressing up and having that experience of getting dressed up as a teenager, the weird giddiness of girls sharing their clothes and their accessories and going ‘ah shit, this does look better on you’ - *strips the shirt off and flings it across the room unceremoniously* & also sometimes Ava dressing in a shirt and a suit jacket and looking masc and handsome & really just existing as herself, orbiting gender elipitically so sometimes she’s closer or further away or curving dramatically thru space.

picking the male avatar in video games bc she likes the animation better. being just really drawn to long-haired Link in Breath of the Wild. like yeah, Ava’s relation to gender as ‘idk?’ but in a typically Ava way which is also somehow effortlessly compelling & honest & true.

gender + autism being so good and Beatrice getting to escape from the rigours of social gendered-ness & just exist without being pressed into these various contortions of gender. something about authenticity and being as an act of radical self-love. also defiance. 

oh yeah i def think that Lilith’s whole story is very neurodivergent-coded. it might be another ‘casper can’t write neurotypical’ but my ligaments Lilith is veeeery neurodivergent. doesn’t like touch as a general rule but likes it very much from specific people. the way she is just in general echoing so many autistic experiences.

the way that she occupies space inconsistently and uneasily. the very visible ‘signs of otherness’ in her demonic wings and the scales and i guess i’m thinking about masking and her inability to mask. she is consistently outside looking in, relegated to the borderlands of the narrative.

how i think in s1 she is so wonderfully alternating between this playfulness (lounging on the car outside the orphanage, her laughter when she and Mary are beating each other to hell, the way she interacts with Ava - 'it's a stick') and then her absolute intensity at other times. how revealing that is of the fact that there is a Lilith stacked underneath the mask-version she has so carefully construed to help her and keep her safe. what i am raised to be vs who i am.

how soft she is and how caring with those she loves, & i think how the narrative itself misunderstands her (deliberately) and how we gradually see that NOTHING she does is really selfish, but that she’s let down - so often - by those who are supposed to be her family, and because she masks so well her needs aren’t appreciated. i think ppl take care of Beatrice and Camila and they don’t take care of her in the same way. she ends up alone and isolated. she is tricked by people, used by people (Jillian, Adriel, Duretti)

this is a mess of thoughts but just how she is constructed, and how much it speaks to being an ill-fitting thing. not fully belonging in a world built for others and around their needs. how she clings to the first person to acknowledge her difference “you are something entirely new”. & her energy of i think very badly wanting to reach out and be SEEN but not knowing how, being overshadowed and forgotten and discarded.

how i think in a way she saw Beatrice as the Mary to her Shannon, what it must have been like to see that fall apart in front of her, to watch Beatrice go with Ava after the Vatican. to be finally divested of every hope she had for her life. 

& i am always every day feral about Lilith’s background. i am always tempted to hc her as an only child - last scion of my house & so on - but also thinking that from the very beginning she is not living up to expectations. i do hc her as having some learning disabilities growing up, & her mother making her suffer for it, terribly. the convo they have sounds like an old wound being picked open.

Lilith growing up with not one person in her life ever believing in her, being sent to the slaughterhouse anyway. the expendable one - the one we shall not allow to have children. Lilith with cousins who share her name but not her fate. so she makes everything about the halo. trying to fit into this box (coffin) that has been built for her since birth. dying for it, and even that is not enough. 

i really wish we could have seen Lilith grow to love and accept who she is. like yes, the fact that she is framed as liminal by the narrative, caught between two worlds, two sides of a conflict.

she is neither/or. her scales are spectres of inner difference, but they are also beautiful. Lilith learning that what she sees and feels and what she is - they’re all different but not bad or worse. Lilith using her demon sight to help the OCS. learning that she doesn’t need to be the halo-bearer (but also that she doesn’t need to be valuable. she just needs to exist).

Lilith being permitted to take up space and time and energy, instead of folding herself away to nothing. the teleportion as a metaphor for self-erasure, for masking and making oneself still and silent.

writing Lilith as neurodivergent (probably autistic +) is really beautiful because it opens up all of these possibilities for exploring what is gorgeous about neurodivergent existence, and what it means to unmask after YEARS of suffocating inside of a body that was controlled by the expectations of others. & let’s not forget that when you start stimming after not being allowed to for your entire life it DOES feel scary and it does make you uncomfortable because it sets off alarm bells and there are a million instances of people saying ‘stop it that’s annoying’ or ‘what is wrong with you’ & Lilith’s initial horror being THAT, too, but how eventually it will be okay and good and easy. 

i just LOVE Lilith to pieces bc her whole story just aches but it’s also this incredibly difficult and worthwhile journey towards self-acceptance. & when you start to see HER slip through the cracks of the walls she’s put between herself and all of the things that have the potential to hurt her it’s just searingly beautiful and SHE is searingly beautiful and neurodivergence is poetic and fantastic and good.

Labyrinth Archives (copied from discord): the Labyrinth Archives r were Zone lived before everything. w a crew, Zone's parents, and robots. it was a huge ship of various files and books sent WAY out into space to keep safe from the war (i know v little about Halo so forgive me if its Incorrect). it was made more for storage than actual fighting. he was able to get school/education n stuff thanks to recordings and crew/parent helping but he never officially graduated. 

problems occurred (still workin on that part. pest invasion possibly? maybe the Flood idk rn) and they eventually began to run out of food. Zone (13) was the youngest at the time and more food/rations were saved bc of that. eventually it was just him and the robots left before PFL found the ship after a few months

-everybody on the Archives fucking died except him. Stuck in deep space with corpses for months is not fun. abandonment issues start here. the robots in the archives quarantined the starved bodies without telling Zone who lived off of the food that was quickly going down

-found by PFL who gave him an ultimatum: join the program, or go back to the Archives. 

-regular meetings with the Counselor studying how a young teen would handle the training and missions. these meetings would later become less and less

-training with Maine/one of the freelancers that was bigger than him (obvs not Tex but hes affected by her later). testing resilience and agility while fighting a bigger and more powerful opponent

I got my notes, so let's talk about the "reboot" of Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni. I'm sorry that it's so long..

Major spoilers for original higu and GouSotsuMeguri, not detailed, but major. (I mean, you already reading my blog.

Part one: Precursor of Doom

So. Higurashi is an insanely famous anime consistent of multiple seasons (first two covering the main story and others covering additional content). It started as a small independed visual novel, it grown in this behemoth of different types of content from anime and manga, to written novells and audio. It cemented it's place in golden halls of horror.

But even tho, it was so popular, it never got a proper anime reboot. Anime stoped coming somewhere after 2006. And let's say the visuals looks s little dated (especially second season, which looks like shit).

So when in the year of the plague (2020) was anonced something called Higurashi Gou people were HYPED. Based on the promotional material, people assumed it was a reboot, but man, they were incorrect. Higurashi Gou was released the same year.

Let's step aside for some spoilers. Higurashi is a story of a group of children who are stuck inside of neverending timeloop of tragedy. And the ending (which was covered in the second season of the original anime) is the one where they are realised from it. That I wanted to say. The original anime was finished. Nothing else to say. Everyone survived, they won against the bad guys and finally got a chance to grow up. So everyone's assumptions that Gou was a reboot was a logical choice. The same happened with the first episode. It closely followed the first episode of the original anime, so yeah. It's reboot. Let's get cosy and watch the story about kids dying.

The second episode showed people that IT WASN'T.

A little spoiler, again. In the original story only one person remembers previous "lifes". And desperately trying to prevent the tragedies and her death. So in the second episode of Gou we see her complaining of (probably) dying and waking in the loop again. Well, having nothing else to do she tries to prevent the bad things from happening and survive to the end of the loop. Because of her memory, she knows the choices that would bring a bad outcome, but it's all futile. She triying to stop one person from becoming possessed and killing everyone, the other person becames possesed and kills everyone. Almost like no one is following the original script. Main character is confused, the people who are watching are confused. Who are the bad guy™? What's happening?

And then the last episode of Gou drops and fans ARE LOSING THEIR SHIT. And not in a good way.

The bad guy... *dramatic percussions* is a random eleven year old. Well, she's not random. She's actually one of the main characters, but she's still ELEVEN in original story. And also she was never an instigator of violence. She was a victim in probably the most serious arcs. I don't know how to convey you how incorrect it felt. And the people felt their first fires of wraith. Also, it's the last episode of the season, so if you want to know that happened wait for another 🤗

Part Two: Toxic Yuri

So. Second season starts. The people who thought that it was a reboot dropped a long ago. Some of the fans dropped too. But, yeah, I kept going.

I didnt want to include any pictures in this post (because it's so fucking long), but I make an exception for this two. When I saw this frames in the opening of the second season, I understood that something went VERY WRONG.

Anyway, the second season explained the parts of the story that happened after the original story, but before Gou and why timloop started again. I'm not gonna retell you the entire plot, but let's say, the eleven y.o. was actually the reason for everything.

And the fans were pissed. The Satoko discourse (Satoko is the mentioned eleven y.o.) was MASSIVE. Most of the people thought that GouSotsu was stupid and bad (understandable). Big number of people hated Satoko, because in the original story she was uselles little girl, but now she was malicious evil girl (I'm quoting, I don't think like this). Some people were just upset about everything, like. Creator could just. Give two season of total fanservice and it would have felt better. Fans got in the bloody fights, some saying that Satoko decisions were correct, even tho he killed (directly and indirectly) a lot of people. The others told that it's bullshit, she's evil actually and the "minor and neurodivergent" is a bad defense. Like. It was a SHITSHOW. It's all culminated in the last episodes of the second season, where a girl who remembered everything and the eleven y.o. who killed her innumerable number of times had a Yuri Moment™. They reconsilliated about how they are only two people who understand each other. Dropped a bomb about how they are probably the characters from the other story (umineko). And went their separate ways.

Part Three: The aftermath and Meguri

As I already said. People were pissed. People fought. People said that GouSotsu is not canon and never would be. It's all made up like Homestuck2.

But while everyone was reliving seven stages of grief, Gou got itself a manga! Which is not very typical, but why not. Gou manga retold the same story as the Gou anime, so everyone kinda ignored it. But. Just like anime had a second season, the manga had a second part. It's called Meguri. It started the same as the second season, but got turned at some point, after, I think, the second arc. And it's INSANITY. Not only fans got this weird anime, that totally destroyed their opinion about the higu as a whole. But now this weird part of the story that almost no one liked had a different plot root.

Anyway. Don't interact with Satoko discourse. Watch/read the original story (it's great actually. I'm gonna go sleep now.

Ok so hear me out once again:

So technically, The main 3 never had a chance to interrogate Elowen properly abt why she switched sides other than her saying "I don't wanna get played by LoS so I'm joining yall for now"

So Felix comes up with this idea: to brew a truth potion, add it to her morning coffee and just ask random questions throughout the day in their usual conversations. Anisa is reluctant about it while Sage is on board because even in Fathom Elowen seems not participate in a lot of conversations and just sit there and listen. So the boys manage to convince Anisa too. After the truth potion is slipped into Elowen drink however,

1) Elowen starts to tell every mean thing that passes in her head, unfiltered asf. Makes Sage roasted ham

"Idk who let you be a member of the Starsworn bc the way you live makes you look like the comedic relief side character in a play who is lowkey depressed."

"Go wash yourself dipshit you look like a mop used to wipe the floor" (mean asf dont judge me-)

2) Flirts with MC as if it's the most casual thing, MC is shocked bc they had guessed Elowen had a reason to be nice to them(She does actually, she only treats you the way you treat her)

"Nice ass" "Who tf said that-" "Me. Nice ass. Appreciate yourself more you idiot look in the mirror or something, you're hot."

"Marry me." "Elowen-" "Do it so I can piss this useless fleabag off."

3) Slander them for how disorganized the main 3 are in their plans with only backup plan. Mentions Lucan sometimes. Gets sentimental

"You cannot organize knights when you cant even organize your room. Clean that up Anisa I can smell spaghetti."

"Lucan used to get paranoid over plans. Have backups is all I have to say. Consider every outcome, and you will be foolproof. "

From that day on everyone swore to never use that option on Elowen again.

I feel like Elowen makes it a habit to learn about the people she works with so that if they ever turn on her she'll have the upper hand. That means studying them. She keeps the info to herself but once she's had the truth potion??

Felix is flipping through some books trying to do research and he keeps pacing around the study and Elowen just pokes her head and goes 'your favorite quill is in Stella's pile of toys under the stuffed bear' and! Felix fucking finds it!! Right there!!! And he's finally able to get back to his work because he now has That One Focus Object and he doesn't even think to ask Elowen how she knew it was there

Anisa is scatterbrained and trying to find her knife because she's running late for a Sunstone meeting and Elowen, without looking up from her coffe, goes 'left boot inner ankle' and Anisa checks and finds it there and is just like,, Oh! Thank You Elowen! Why do you know that tho and Elowen just sips her drink and doesn't respond.

Sage is making Felix coffee and Elowen, leaning against the counter, goes 'he says he wants two sugars but really he wants three and a half' and Sage is just glaring at her because Why Does She Know That

She! Makes! Everyone!! Make!! A!!! Backup Plan!!!

Sage starts to argue about some aspect of it and El just flicks his forehead and is like 'I do not have the time or crayons necessary to explain this to you' and Sage is just Pissed

That being said I think the main person she targets with her insults is Sage for obvious reasons

'You remain an excellent reminder for why abortion should be legal' but is that an insult saying he never should have been born or that his illegitimate children would be fucking everywhere were it not for abortion? I don't know! I think they're both hilarious!

She totally is flirting with you just to piss off Sage. But I think there's a little something genuine in there too. Maybe a hint of admiration that you've (apparently) managed to tame the Red Wraith. Or maybe she's just impressed that you haven't killed him already for being annoying.

More than that though, remember when Sage said that you remind him of Lucan? That you two would like each other? I think Elowen sees that too. And if you ask her about it, she'll admit it.

She literally just locks Anisa, Felix, and Sage in Anisa's apartment and orders them to clean it and then just takes you on a date kidnaps you.

TGCF THOUGHTS!!!!! I‘M LISTENING

I just woke up 7 minutes ago but TIME TO RAMBLE!!!

Tgcf is the best thing I ever accidentally stumbled upon I stg! Back in late November- the last day of my Thanksgiving break actually, it was a Friday- I wanted to watch Pacific Rim. Pretty sure I'd seen it once as a kid, but I have no memory of what it was about, so I wanted to rewatch it because I heard it was pretty good. And so I decided to check Netflix for it first because I don't go on Netflix a lot it could've been on there idk lmao And that's when I saw the donghua; a scene from the first episode was playing (the scene where Xie Lian sees a wraith butterfly for the first time and Ling Wen contacted him immediately afterward) at the top of my screen because I think it was recommended for me since I was watching anime and another donghua last time I was on Netflix. Anyways, I temporarily forgot about looking up Pacific Rim because the animation in that scene looked so fucking PRETTY and Xie Lian's voice sounded so soft and gentle, and the synopsis Netflix gave me sounded pretty interesting, so I just sat there in my bed like "oh my god, I'm going to check this out after the movie"

And that's exactly what I did after finding the movie on smth else and watching it (it was pretty good ig, not my genre of movie tho). But because I'd watched a movie I didn't remember the synopsis, and so honestly, I was very confused watching the first couple of episodes. I barely understood what was going on lmao- and then THE scene from episode two played and I was like "hUH???"

Because it was the most romantic thing I've seen in a WHILE and at that point I realized I was watching a donghua, not an anime, and didn't think censorship laws would've been able to show lgbt+ relationships and so I was there thinking "Okay that was so romantic, wow, uh... That had to be unintentional, though, right?" The fact that I was still confused about the plot and what was going on didn't help me in this situation because I know for a fact if I'd knew what was going on there would've been NO WAY I could've just brushed that scene off the way I did.

It luckily didn't take me too long after that to suddenly remember the synopsis and realize that THE scene introduced the other main character, and I started understanding everything so much better after remembering that. I was still kind of confused though because holy shit why are there so many fruity moments, it drove me up the wall because I still thought it was all unintentional lmao

Don't worry though! I figured it on episode five! It went like this: It's the scene where Xie Lian asks about Hua Cheng in the Spiritual Communication Array and finally learns his name and is like "oh that suits him :)" and it just cuts to a close-up of Ling Wen looking distressed as FUCK. I think that cut is so sudden and her expression looks so funny that it distracts me from what Xie Lian just said and I'm like "omg, I need to take a screenshot of this". HOWEVER! Netflix doesn't let you screenshot, so I googled Heaven Official's Blessing to see if it was available anywhere else. And as I looked at the search result my eyes caught the review tab on the right of my screen, and I catch a word because it's in all caps. The word was "LGBT", and when my eyes locked onto it I stopped everything and went "..... HOLD THE FUCK UP-"

Three reviews and an additional google search later, I'm literally losing my shit because OH MY GOD I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS BL BUT IT WAS, WHAT?!"

And I'm so glad I found out early on in that episode because it's literally the same episode as the ox cart scene, and I think I would have died if I was still playing ignorant at that point lmao- and after screaming to all of my friends about accidentally watching something lgbt without realizing one of my friends knew exactly what I was watching and so I went into his dms and reacted to the rest of the first season to him. It was so fun lmao, and I got done watching it at like 2am or smth so that meant the ending got me me emotional than it probably should have laskdh

I enjoyed the donghua so, so much. I'm not going to lie, there was some point very early on where I genuinely considered quitting because I was becoming too confused about what was going on, but I decided to stay and that's when I remembered the synopsis. And I'm so glad I stayed because it was so good!! The animation and character designs were so nice, and the music during a lot of scenes were almost breathtaking. AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE STORY-

So after finding out there was a manhua- OH MY GOD WAIT A NEW CHAPTER CAME OUT THIS MORNING- I binged all of the available chapters in a single day on that following Saturday literally just after binging the donghua (It was a fortunate time to do it too, the artist had been taking a break for complete the next volume so and started updating again not too long after I binged what all I could read). And the manhua about took me out because the romantic moments were even more romantic and everything looked SO PRETTY. It was also very similar to the donghua, although there were definitely some details that were different. I found it really interesting.

After that, I heard that the og source of the series was a series of novels, but I was honestly on the fence about reading them because I didn't know where to find an English translation. So that Sunday I kinda just searched for tgcf content online and was very happy to get some. Sure, I might've spoiled a couple details like what the ring really was (I didn't get it the first time I watched the donghua because it was literally early morning when I saw the last episode), and it was after learning these little tidbits that I caved and decided that yeah I was going to try and read the novels.

And so I found an online source of the entire series (minus the extra chapters) and started reading that Monday at home. I immediately started enjoying it even though it was the first time I was consuming the same story (the first two arcs, at least). It got to the point that on that Wednesday I decided to pull up the website on my phone and read at school too, because the last two periods I'm a library ta and get some free time to read, and quickly got into territory that I hadn't seen in either the donghua or manhua.

Ngl some parts confused me again but it was GOOD, it was GREAT.

Like book 1 was fun and the way it left on a cliffhanger to perfectly begin the flashback that book 2 is. Also, book 2 hurt like a bitch even though it was shorter. Book 3 picked up off from book 1 perfectly, and was so enjoyable because both the plot and romance had really picked up and I was losing it. And then book 4 came around, and despite it being the shortest novel in the series it fucking ripped my heart out and spared it no mercy. You think book 2 is painful and that it can't get worse but then you read book 4 and it gets worse. IT'S WORTH IT THOUGH! Because the final novel, book 5, is AMAZING. So many sweet moments, so many moments of laughter, and quite a few tears- and this is coming from someone who never spills tears over books or shows, yet I was reading that last book with watery eyes and two steps away from crying because the ending chapters AHHHHHH

I finished the novel series in about a week. I honestly want to reread it because I know there were a lot of bits that went over my head the first time (such as somehow not realizing the Yong'an in the Ban Yue arc is THE Yong'an idk how that escaped me!). I've also rewatched the donghua a couple of times (and I realized something really amazing with the character designs my second time through; gods and ghosts have pupils that are more slitted, while humans have round pupils!!!) and I reread the manhua right before it came off hiatus with my laptop's nightlight off to appreciate the true beauty of it alsdghas

Anyways I actually have to go, but anon feel free to ask me more! I know I didn't actually get into the characters or plot because I wanted to avoid any possible spoilers aldkg, but if you want to know more just send me more asks about it or dm me! 100% character--i'll have a vague plot concept most of the time, and then it fleshes itself out later as i figure people out

23. what do you do to engage with your projects which isn’t actually writing? ex: playlists, pinterest boards, etc. how much do they play a role in the development of your work?

most of the stuff i write has at least one Theme Song that fits the vibe i'm looking for, and if I have a REALLY strong visual theme i'll sometimes do a moodboard. it doesn't play a huge role but it does make me more consistent in tone/descriptors. I definitely have habits i default to when i'm getting comfortable and it helps me keep things from being same-y, lol

the thing i love about this show is how they manage to cram in an extremely detailed plot, all while leaving breadcrumbs and at the same time DEVELOPING CHARACTERS. and not just main characters, side characters too. each member of the drew crew had a story in the finale and each one played a part in bringing nancy back from the wraith.

just seriously stellar writing and i can’t wait to see what season 3 brings!

So...I was looking around tumblr as usual while listening music. And since is already december, in my country (not sure if it's the same on others) it's usual to hear the damn songs tipical of this month OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

And yeah, it would be tolerable at least if THEY WEREN'T PLAYING THEM SINCE FUCKING SEPTEMBER!

Just why? It is enough hearing it non-stop during december, hell, I would even feel it was fun if it was only since november. But no...four months. FOUR GODDAMNED MONTHS HEARING THIS! And it doesn't help that my neighbor decide to play them at 3 am.

Let me die already...

So yeah, for now let's leave behind the fact that I'm about to throw my dad's stereo through a window and wanted to rant a bit. I was thinking about my boys (lost the inspiration for the main story, sorry) and how they'll be during christmas or most likely in this situation.

So here they are!

Alicia was about to loose her cool.

It was november and even if she loved the holidays, there was a problem. She didn't know who told Marcus about certain songs and whoever did it, now he was a dead man walking. Don't misunderstand her...she loved those songs during Christmas and New Years, they were basically a tradition on her house, but HOLY HELL if she wasn't tired of them.

Why? May you ask

BECAUSE MARCUS HAS PLAYED THOSE MOTHERFUCKERS SINCE FUCKING JUNE!

And now Edward started to sing them without knowing what the hell they meant it was nothing bad tho or how to pronounce it and the pilot wasn't the best singer either.

-Alicia?-asked Luke when he saw her staring to the void as other round of those songs started

-I am THIS close to commit a murder inside here-hissed as her eyebrow twitched

-Your...your fingers are touching

-Exactly! God forgive me if I find who told Marcus to play this over and over

Luke didn't say anything, but he knew exactly who was it and never expected their Captain would react like this. He decided to keep quiet for now...for his own sake. That was like that until end of december and Alicia was going crazy.

At least until Wraith decided to watch the world burn and she told the Captain who was it. She didn't know if laugh or cry of the pure anger, but took a deep breath before looking at Dominique with a little smile.

-How bad can I leave them?-asked as her eyebrow twitched again

-Leave Jackson alone, you know the poor bastard has been busy with some of your own wounds during training

-Fair enough

Alicia got out of Dominique's office and found Elijah first, who salute her with a smile. She was alright with him and most of her team, so she just started chatting with him a bit as he told her about christmas in his house.

-So you started to dance...while drunk?-asked with a smile

-Never drink vodka, whisky and rum together I guess

-Good point, oh, by the way, have you seen Luke, Noah and Alexander anywhere?

-Uhh, last time I saw them, they were on the yard

-Great, thanks Elijah

-I just need to ask but, do I need to tell Jackson to prepare the bay?-asked a bit nervous

-Nah, hmm, but I told Luke what would happen if I found out...

-Yep, I'll tell him just in case

And so, once Alicia let Elijah go, he went straight to the medic bay to talk with the blonde SEAL. Blackwell just sighed and prepares everything to cure those three idiots once the Captain finished with them. They both went and found the rest of the team and went just to contemplate the spectacle, even Wraith was watching from her office.

Soon they saw the three soon-to-die soldiers talk as they walked and then Elliot saw the Captain. Everyone had a chill down their spine when they saw the smile in her face and, for worse, the broomstick on her hands. Once the Lieutenant, the Corporal and the Private noticed her...all of them went pale as wax.

-Oh crap, she found out-said Alexander shaking

-No shit, Sherlock!-snapped Noah in his direction before they started running

-¡PEQUEÑAS MIERDAS! ¡TRAIGAN SU TRASERO AQUÍ! (YOU LITTLE SHITS! BRING YOUR ASSES HERE!)-screamed Alicia in spanish chasing them with her eyes filled of anger-¡SEIS MESES! ¡SEIS MALDITOS MESES! ¡CASI ME VUELVO LOCA POR SU CULPA! (SIX MONTHS! SIX FUCKING MONTHS! I ALMOST WENT CRAZY BECAUSE OF YOU!)

The woman chased them screaming for almost an hour before she could smack the broom on something, the floor if we are being specific, before looking them directly to the eyes. All three of them just watched with a mix of awe and fear how the broomstick was broken in thousands of pieces, then she just whispered "run" and they fled for their lives. Alicia smiled as she used the broken stick as a javelin, missing for mere inches the back of Luke's head.

-Is she trying to murder them for real or...?-asked Francis surprised

-I...don't think so-muttered Nicholas raising an eyebrow

Once they lost sight of the three, Alicia started to laugh and that just terrified her team before she picked the broomstick pieces. She walked towards them before throw the pices in the trash and smiled them as usual.

-What?

-You are scary, ma'am-said Marcus almost laughing of incredulity-you almost killed the Lieutenant!

-Of course not!-answered as she laughed again-I never aimed to his head! If I did...well you know what would have happened

-How?-asked Edward as the woman shuggred

-Not the first time I chase someone and throw them something, that's the way I usually stop my siblings of stealing my things

-So what was the point?-asked Jackson with a smile

-Scare them enough to leave me alone for a while and NEVER suggest Marcus to do that again, because I know pretty well they told him they were different songs when I told him to stop every time-murmured the Captain with a sigh-and they'll have bathroom duty for two months, yes, even Luke

-Poor them-said Elijah with a giggle

-You're kidding? This was the funniest shit I've seen since a long time-said Elliot wheezing-oh God...why didn't I record it?

-I'm sure Wraith did-said Alicia before stretching a bit-alright people, drinks are on me today! For New Year!

All of them cheered once they heard that, and decided to go to one of the city bars before midnight, when they'll call their family on their own.

-And someone find those three for God's sake!

I ran a Ghost Face on the Disturbed Ward main building with my ninja vaulting build and it was so long! Quick & Quiet with Dance With Me really fucked shit up because I was going every which way in and out of that place and he could not for the life of him keep up, meanwhile, I eventually ran up behind him and followed him for like a minute and he never knew! IDK how! Claudette’s breathing isn’t as loud as Jane’s but you can still hear her.

Got some matches with Twitch streamers. I had their streams open to listen in on what’s going on. We got some great plays. The one match we were accused of cheating by a Leatherface who Insidious Camped and still got no one dead in the end.

Got a Wraith who came upon me bobbing my green head at mach speed in the middle of the map, and apparently decided that I was a fucking trip so he joined in and then let me and the other Feng Min finish the Gens and leave. We got 32K points..

I ran a Bamboozle Bubba on the dock for 4 minutes, and I know this because I had a Challenge to get Chased for 240 seconds(which I wanted to die from IstG) and that was the first match after setting the Challenge. I only got into a Chase once that match so it had to have been from that alone since I completed the Challenge in 1 match. With Adrenaline I was finally able to fucking leave the dock! I hate the swamp maps so much. I Escaped too. I remember the acute sense of terror when he vaulted a window at a very small loop when it would seem counter-intuitive to do so. And then the window was blocked. BUT, no Bloodlust at the time so he never caught up so matter how hard he tried.

btw the no Bloodlust experiment was very interesting on the Survivor side. I encountered many Killers who were not good despite being Rank 1, all because they couldn’t Bloodlust to victory.

On my end as Killer, I didn’t notice much, but I think that’s because the Survivors I faced were Yellow Ranks. The highest I’ve gotten before Rank Reset is Rank 8. I don’t play much Killer so I just haven’t tried getting higher. So when it resets, I’m stuck with Rank 13s and below. And like, getting them down is no struggle so I didn’t need Bloodlust to begin with. For me, it wasn’t a life-changing thing.

A Michael was run by a Dwight on the Pale Rose main building for so long that he gave up and walked away to find someone else. And I was just watching from that little building on the map as Dwight and he went in circles while I finished the Gen.

I found a Pink Key in the one game so when all Gens were done, we left through the Hatch! XD

Killers really don’t handle Head On stuns very well. Like, you get them once and they tunnel and camp you. I’ve managed to use all the pallets on a map to stun a Killer in a 5-GenChase and not get camped by them when I was finally downed. But a Leatherface gets hit with Head On one time and he has a tantrum over it. And still got no kills cuz someone had Borrowed Time and I had Adrenaline.

Ah, Macmillan’s Phalanx Bone. Don’t you mean “Shelter Woods Offering”? Every. Fucking. Time.

I need to get used to playing the dudes. I typically don’t cuz they’re much bigger and harder to hide. Their breathing and grunts of pain are louder. And idk if it’s me but they feel clunky. Playing as any of the dudes just has a weird feel to the gameplay and idk why.

You ever see someone in just the ugliest match up of cosmetics ever, and wonder if they’re getting tunneled because the Killer hates their clothes? I often do.

Claudette, Min, and Yui are all P3 and have all Perks I currently possess now! *applause*

I was saving up to get Legion but I think I want Elodie first. Legion can wait since I have so many free cosmetics for them and they aren’t going anywhere. 

I used to think Kate was the prettiest of all Survivors even if blondes don’t do it for me, but now we have Elodie who is far prettier, and mainly I want her just so I can look at her. I’m very queer. She has cool Perks too but the gay is way stronger.

Playing swf in a lobby with Rank 10, Rank 13, and Rank 17 teammates. Rank 13: If we get a Rank 1 Killer because someone is Rank 2(it’s me) I’m going to scream. [We got a Rank 1 Spirit and he did in fact scream. XD]

Got the same Freddy 3 times in a row today! I was playing different Survivors with different builds though, so he couldn’t predict my playstyle in the 2nd and 3rd games. Blendette with the good ol’ ninja vaulting build, Fluorescent Feng Min with a standard solo build, and then a Breakout Yui build in which I sabotaged so many Hooks and Dead Harded a shit ton that it took until I was out of charges in the end, for him to Hook someone! BUT!!! A Dweet gave me his unused yellow Toolbox, and I got in one last sabo to save someone! I Escaped each match too.

I managed to lose a Nurse in every chase because she kept assuming I would camp pallets, but I just kept running and pathing oddly around Ormond by taking random sharp turns and turning every which way to confuse her. It was great and I never got Hooked!

New Ormond looks a lot better btw... but I still hate the map tho.

Got a Spirit to DC because my ninja vaulting build fooled her even though she had Stridor and I was Injured. I was running to a pallet, she started phasing to get ahead of me, I backtracked and went elsewhere, so she appeared on the other side of the pallet, swinging, but I wasn’t there. I was already across the corn at a new loop where I vaulted a window and Lithed toward the shack. Seconds later, the game ends.

I hate Hags!

I dodged a hatchet and proceeded to stop getting prompts to vault/throw pallets down. That’s how I ended up in the Dying State. And I asked the other PS4 players if they faced any weird glitches and both explained that she missed a hit and then they suddenly froze in place/couldn’t throw down the pallet they were at.

I even checked if my internet was effed up, but we were all under 85 in terms of ping so it couldn’t have been the Survivors.

Like, she Hooked Dude #2 and while Adam went to save the Dude #1, I went to Dude #2. I hid behind a rock as the Huntress ran by me and around the corner of the map to intercept the other rescue, which she failed to do. I ran to the hook, watching behind me the whole time, and just as I was about to pull them off she appeared out of nowhere in the wide, open space of the Disturbed Ward map. She wasn’t there, and then she was. 

I dodge her hatchet as I flee toward the building and right up against a window, the prompt wouldn’t show and I wasted several seconds before I could finally use my Lithe. As I run through the building, I’m spamming R1 to throw down the pallet I’m running to, but it didn’t go. I got hit. Suddenly I was stuck in place and unable to move, and then found myself on the ground.
