honestly...bad. ok well no. let's go with light. lighter than it should probably be. I edit in chunks as I write, then I'll leave it and specifically go back in to edit. Then I'll make some more tweaks and although I know it isn't perfect, I post and then usually ~the next day-ish I go into the post (on ao3 or Tumblr) and find any typos once again.

music always unless it's a specific scene that I can pull up specific youtube soundscapes for ...like a zombie apocalypse for example *cough*. anyway— the world tipped on its side and subsequent chapters are named after songs/lyrics, music heavily influences what I write and how I write it. with my place on the spectrum, it's really hard to function without music - it's kind of an integral part of my existence at this point. that's why my headphones look like shit 😭

Sadly I don't...really have much to say at this point? Like it's the same reason I still haven't done that Imaginary Scramble writeup (to that other anon I am sorry...) in that there's basically just one key issue to restate over and over, rather than a whole mess to dive into, and everyone has already talked about that one key issue. Everyone knows why FGogh is a pretty damn tasteless depiction of mental illness, and how it's basically this one glaring thing on pasted over what could have been an otherwise fine character.

And while I could/will eventually still probably talk about FGogh, since there's an actual creative discussion to be had, that's not here for Sakura. The reason is plain and simple. It's because they wanted money, nothing more. Everything my NA-only view has allowed so far just makes it seem like a picture of sakura hastily duct-taped over an original idea. It's the same reason i don't really have much to say about Not-Sitonai beyond "this is bad".

I rewatched everything before s4, and I honestly forgot how awful t/s relationship was. Directly after s3, most people were in agreement that Tom was in the right for the betrayal, now everyone is revisionist about it. How he never lover her, and only ever used her. How he mistreated her for the past 3 seasons, while she was only ever thinking about him in her own way. And how HE is exactly like Logan(???). I love Tom, and he can be terrible, but I don't think he ever was towards her prior to the betrayal, he was to other people though. He wouldn't have even gone through with betraying her, if she showed she thought about him at all in her plans with her brothers. The only thing I think he was very much in the wrong for, was him trying to leverage a baby out of her before being send to prison. I hate the framing of their relationship this season, because she looks devastated and he looks careless and now he's the bad guy, even though it was the other way around for 3 whole seasons and nobody cared or made cucking jokes about it. I really feel for Shiv cause so much is going to shit rn, but that doesn't mean she gets a free pass. Same thing with how she grew up. I also think it's so weird how people swear up and down that they both never loved each other, even if she had a weird way of showing it. I think both did at one point. We're watching Succession the nuance show, and everyone wants to take the nuance out of it to baby the sibs

I fr don't know what's going on with the Succ fandom this season cos people this time round seem to have zero nuance when viewing the show and have forgotten the past seasons. I've rewatched the show, like, more then five times at this point, at the least (tbh I've lost track), so I'd say I have a pretty good understanding of it. And the way all the Sh*v stans want to come in and rewrite T/S (multiple times in one season too lol. One second he's Logan 2.0, the next he's Sh*v's equal in marriage and they're THE otp of Succession and the perfect match, the next he's back to being an abusive piece of shit... It's funny, it's almost like their perception of him changes completely due to them being incapable of faulting Sh*v and they have to change his character to ensure she's in the right at all times), they wanna rewrite Tom's character (oh suddenly ALL he ever was, was a money grabbing manipulative asshole that never cared about anyone and wanted to use Shiv. Yep, nothing more to his character ever /sarcasm), and they wanna rewrite Greg (wow, another character that suddenly was only ever a piece of shit, and an annoying one at that... Despite the fact that Greg has been a fan favourite throughout the whole show alongside Tom... Funny that...), it's just funny to me because they're so obviously reinterpreting EVERYTHING about the show to fit this narrative they have that Sh*v is a great person who has only ever been the victim her whole life, who has only ever been devoted and loving to Tom and he stabbed her in the back (which literally isn't true helppp)! And the hatred of Greg and Tomgreg suddenly rising out of nowhere this season was also so obvious as this immature hatred for another character getting in the way of their ship.

I agree with what you said about Tom and the baby. I think he genuinely would have loved having a kid with her once, but yeah, the timing of wanting one so badly before he was going off to prison? It was definitely to secure a place in her life, cos he even says in 4.7 that she wouldn't have his baby cos she never thought she'd be married to him for more than four years, which shows he's always feared her leaving him, and so a baby would have been a way to keep her committed to the relationship. And I hate that. Women being reduced to Baby Machine is fucking revolting and it's one of the things that makes me the most angry in life. So I do hate Tom for that and honestly, Jesse Armstrong too for making Sh*v pregnant when we all know she didn't want that, and so her pregnancy is so out of character (this is something I've seen in multiple shows. Career driven or otherwise independent woman who states throughout the whole show she doesn't want to get pregnant, and then last minute she gets pregnant. What??? ENOUGH). BUT ALSO LIKE, people forget Tom felt the ONLY way to secure some sort of loyalty or devotion from Sh*v was through a baby. He didn't feel like he had any options cos Sh*v was SO indifferent to him going to prison. She didn't gaf and moreso other characters remarked she even seemed happy about it. I'm not saying he was right in trying to pressure her into pregnancy, he fucking wasn't, but yeah, maybe people should think about how Tom was being slowly marched to prison and Sh*v in his perspective was doing NOTHING to help him or at the bare minimum even comfort him (cos that's what you do as a partner. It's funny people tryna heckle Tom after that 4.8 Tomsh*v interaction and his lack of sympathy considering how little she gaf about him going to prison and actually told him off for coming to her for comfort). Like,,, what does it say about the state of their relationship that that's where he was at.

And yeah dude, the whole thing about framing and a free pass. Look, in a way yes, but I guess when it was edited they didn't think that fans were going to have such strong amnesia to the Tomsh*v relationship throughout the whole show? Cos idk how else to defend it.

Cos, you're right, she doesn't get a free pass, and that finally came through in Tom's behaviour in 4.8. Tom who has had endless forgiveness and love for her throughout the whole show and was the kicked dog as a result, suddenly is just devoid to her now. I think it all caught up finally. This is the result. This is the sum total. Sh*v cares rn because she is fucked up rn about Logan's death. Tom has been her support for years now and she trusts him to be the only one close to her when she's in a bad place. But now he doesn't even want to be (because when she's not in a bad place she doesn't care about him) and she hasn't really had her brothers as support (her own choice because of her guilt and distrust for them) since she started conspiring behind their backs, so who does she have for support?

I think it's all crashing down around her (her father - her god, the king - is dead and she's not coping with the grief at all, she has no alliance with her siblings to make something with them, she has no position at Waystar and ATN, she has no familial support cos her family is also her work, and now she has no husband who was also her work).

She has NO support network. And THIS is the tragedy: she put herself here. Not because she's so great and everyone screwed over poor Sh*vvy. No, the fucking heartaching tragedy is that she isolated herself, because as a result of her upbringing, she was taught to trust no one, not even her siblings. She was taught that personal life was nothing compared to business life, so she put all her eggs into that basket, and now all those eggs are broken and she has no support network to go to now that she's so fucked up. So that's the tragedy for Shiv to me. She's reaping what she's sowed. She didn't question Logan's values and instead adopted them and this is where they've gotten them. It's rough cos I've been in the same place in life where I've isolated myself and have ended up with no support network outside of my family, so when that too went fuckup, there was no one, and it feels like the world is crushing you. So it's the same with Shiv. She has no one now, and that's fucking sad, but there's no free pass here, cos this is the bed she made and now she's gotta lay in it. The only thing she can do is realise that when you isolate yourself like this and shame your own emotions, this is where you end up. Alone and choking on everything you pushed down without understanding of how to cope and no help from anyone. But who knows if she will, cos she'd have to admit she's been wrong about living this whole time, and that's a little ego death in itself.

Debating a LYING braindead idiot

So it looks like he wasn't done looking like an idiot, he had to continue playing defense for Che and Communism. It reminds me of when I debated against an idiot who defended Hitler and Nazism. The murderous history of Hitler, Che, Stalin, Mao, Nazis, and Commies should be enough reason for any sane individual to be against Nazis, Commies, and murderous dictators. But apparently, neither he nor the Nazi I've argued against are sane. So let's begin with this idiot (@skorpiontongue) complimenting himself, thinking I wouldn't notice he's using an alt account.

Chapter 1: Alt Compliments

I've seen this type of action before where a Leftist would use an alt-account to complement himself on Tumblr, Discord, Twitter and other social media sites. The one on Discord was the easiest to spot because it came from a new user who joined the discord. How sad and pathetic does one has to be to compliment himself in a short amount of time? He did it on the same day of his post. As if he were impatient to wait a day or two. He was likely trying to get my attention as soon as he made his post, while I was away from my computer. I'm usually either working, spending quality time with my girlfriend or on my phone doing my thing on social media. Anyways I think he does this for attention, because he sure as hell ain't getting it at home(most likely living in his parents basement due to commies being "anti-work") or at the public library where he is most likely accessing the internet.

Chapter 2: Projection

The one thing The Left are caught doing all the time is accusing people of the very same things The Left are guilty of doing themselves. He thinks I'm a "wolf in sheeps clothing". Which is completely false because unlike him, I've always fought against totalitarian and extremist views. It did not matter which side of the political spectrum the totalitarians and extremists come from, I condemn them all for their horrible actions. For example I've always been against Nazis and the KKK for their evil actions. Ever since learning about them in history class, I've always condemn Nazis and the KKK. I condemn Commies and Antifa for the very same reasons, due to their violent and murderous actions, especially since Antifa killed innocent black people in their CHOP/CHAZ zones such as Secoreia Turner, Horace Lorenzo Anderson Jr, and David Dorn. Want to know how I heard about their deaths? Through Newsmax, Steven Crowder and other conservative media. They will not talk about them in Left-wing news media because their deaths go against their narrative and it makes them look bad. The real wolf in sheep's clothing are the Left who pretend to care about black lives and yet ignore the innocent black lives who were murdered by Antifa/Commies/BLM members. The Left in your eyes can do no wrong. Luckily for me, I'm not so blind to the truth. I'll speak against both the Left or the Right if I disagree with them and their actions. For example I'm against Bush for invading Iraq and falsely claiming that there were weapons of mass destruction. I'm also against Bush for initiating the Patriot Act and I'm against Obama for continuing the Patriot Act. I recognize the corruption in both parties and right now the only politicians who are actually trustworthy are MAGA Republicans and Tulsi Gabbard(a former Democrat turned Independent). Tulsi Gabbard was slandered and lied about by Democrats who falsely accused her of being a "Russian Asset", even Mitt Romney was slandering her. She was also censored by Big Tech. Which reminds me, Biden falsely accuses Trump of corruption and yet his deals with Ukraine(before the war) and Hunter Biden's Laptop story being covered up by the mainstream media and social media made it quite clear to me that Biden is the corrupt one. Not that you would be smart enough to figure that out since you're a braindead commie who can't even come up with an original format, copying my chapter format in this debate.

Speaking of Commies, he goes on a nonsensical rant defending a murderous commie dictator(Che). At this point he may as well defend Hitler and deny that the Holocaust happened. But since I've already destroyed his argument on Che, we'll move onto the next chapter.

It does not surprise me that you're uninformed about Cuba. People's rights are being violated, hence the protests. The people in Cuba want liberty. Something Commies or The Left in general has no true understanding of because if they did, they wouldn't actively censor people they disagree with, nor would they try to ban guns or deplatform conservatives. Diversity of thought, freedom of speech and gun rights is what the Left are actively fighting against. Without diversity of thought, without freedom of speech, without the right to bear arms, you're unable to speak freely against tyranny and you're unable to defend yourself against rapists, murderers and thieves. You think you're against rapists, murderers and thieves, yet you defend the Left who would not go after the trans who raped a teenage girl at a school restroom, you defend the Left who murdered an innocent 8-year-old black girl(Secoreia Turner) who was at the wrong place at the wrong time at a burned down Wendy's and you won't condemn the Left's actions of stealing from a Walgreens in San Francisco. So if I wanted to learn about Qanon, I'll go straight to the source(their website), not take the words of an idiot(you) or wikipedia, since wikipedia has been known to be politically bias and it shows with their description of Parler.

Every lie, every slander said about Parler has been accounted for with what I underlined in that screen shot. It also showed how heavily bias wikipedia was in their description of Parler, all of it was untrue. I posted about it months ago, or maybe even a few years since I haven't been on Parler in a long time now since I am more active on Elon Musk's version of Twitter. The point is that you can't trust wikipedia to tell you the truth on anything. That's why conservatives created "conservapedia" to combat the lies of wikipedia.

Want to talk about conspiracy theories? Your on the side that spews it all the time such as Critical Race Theory, Radical Gender Theory, Black Queer Theory, and The Parties Switching Theory. And yet you support a group that had some of their members pose as the opposing side to make them look bad, since Antifa members have been caught doing it. That's why they attacked Andy Ngo. They are not rational and they are not very bright, which is why Antifa are full of white beta male dumbasses with bad haircuts and faces so ugly that you could tell they're on meth. They remind me of the Juggalos I used to feud with, they weren't very bright either. I use to expose them of pedophilia, violence, murder and rape. Summer of Soul Procession Listening to Kenny G The Truffle Hunters

All five documentaries I saw were doing such different things and I like that about the medium very much. Animated memoir, historical concert film, experimental/drama therapy, the only way to do a talking-heads style doc, and a sort of natural-world mosaic with kinda no center but beauuutiful cinematography. A very good year for non-fiction! Actually technically The Truffle Hunters might have been a 2020, but I couldn’t figure it out? I mean is Cyrano even a 2021 and not actually a 2022? Emotionally?? WHAT YEAR EVEN IS IT.

It is 2022, definitely, (checks), and I am finally calling it on the films of 2021. Happy Oscars week.

Some thoughts on Jod, Ulysses,  Titania, and the origins of the OG lyctor gang

I am SO intrigued by Ulysses and Titania because WHO ARE THEY?

So John starts talking about his bodies and I immediately was like wait Ulysses? Titania? (cue me checking the HtN cast list again, lol) We know them. But we don’t. And neither did John. He made them up! They were already dead when he brought them back, he never knew them alive; they were research cadavers. I don’t think that he could have found their original souls because there’s this talk of the thanergy bloom at the moment of death and ‘the nun’ showing John that its at least in part caused by the exit of the soul, I always took it as like a blink and you miss it sort of thing so I don’t know that John can like just pluck bodiless souls out of the air? (the river? I also have lots of questions about the river bc I’m not totally sure I fully understand it. Did John create it? Was it already there and he just gained access when he got his powers?) So, already he’s got these empty shells that he saves (recreates?) and WHO DOES HE PUT IN THEM? Did he create new ones? We don’t know the details of the resurrection, really, so who’s to say he didn’t just pluck some good bits from the freshly pureed blend of souls that is him and Alecto and plopped them into some new bodies?

We would assume that he puts all his pals back into their own/newly resurrected bodies but this leads me to my next question: Did he really?

It's already been stated that John didn’t feel right using U—and T—real names and thus renamed them as Ulysses and Titania. Where did those souls come from? We don’t know, but I’m so curious as to the naming conventions in the John chapters and I think that maybe he changed everyone. Maybe M—and A—and C—and G—and P —, all had different names. 

John nukes everyone and gathers his most favorite souls and brings them back for later but changes them. I feel like he had to because what do they remember? If my friend with magic necro powers who was going off the rails and NUKED THE PLANET brought me back and was like “hey bestie” I’d lose my shit. I’d be pissed and I’d never let him hear the end of it. and we already know that John is a lying liar who lies and he’s heard enough about the fucking cows and what if he’s like actually I don’t want to hear that from my friends so he does a little revisionist history when he brings them back. Gives them a new name (does he let them choose?) and gives them an alternate version of events that still places him in the right in such a way that they are willing to FOLLOW HIM FOR TEN THOUSAND YEARS.

He introduces them to Alecto and makes her out to be a monster when she’s really just another victim. They trust what he’s saying because they don’t know that John has calculated all of this – THEY STILL THINK HE MADE A MISTAKE WHEN HE KILLED ALL THOSE PEOPLE. They don’t know that he got a shot of cocaine straight to the eyeballs when he murdered all those people and there’s no way they know that he nuked a whole planet for a sweet, sweet, white hot burst of soul juice.

John wants total control. What better way than surrounding yourself with people who only know what you tell them? (and locking away the only one who knows the truth?) 

tldr; I want to know what souls powered Ulysses and Titania and I think John retconned his closest friends so he could better mold them to his liking in order to control them for the rest of forever.

The catharsis that you, man, woman, non-binary whatever, may feel from watching a man being brutalised is incidental and frankly speaking, your own personal problem, don't put it behind the purview of feminism literature. Feminism doesn't deserve this.

i finished two books over the past four days........ master of one by jaida jones & dani bennett and reverie by ryan la sala

master of one

this one... was kind of disappointing at the end lmao.

master of one had a lot of build-up to a climax that seemed... pretty lackluster. it reads pretty heavily like a book leading into a sequel, so i hope the next installment drops soon because i was left deeply unsatisfied by the ending lol. also i wish shining talon and the rest of the fae characters were more interesting... they all seemed so flat!!! they barely had any screentime and no POV chapters; everything about them was filtered through the perspective of others which i feel was a damn shame.

shining talon was there from the beginning and by the end of the book i feel like he was the same person, almost no growth happened. i mean i guess he and rags had a romantic thread for the whole thing which felt a bit rushed in my opinion but maybe that's what fae are just like so eh....

also the fact that rags was sixteen had me. squinting. couldn't get invested in it because of how weirded out i was by the concept of a centuries old fae prince and a teenager 💀

especially since rags was SO mean to shining talon for the whole book. most of that had to do with his inferiority complex but still. get it together, rags.

on the plus side i loved the worldbuilding SO much. love that revisionist history theme that keeps getting callbacks. the fae turning out to be less cruel and more complex, victims of a war they tried to survive and brutally lost. the queen's mysterious plans and strangely lengthened lifespan vs. her lack of a real matriarchal heir and how that resentment breeds in her sons. the rebellion and all the characters in it!!! rags's backstory with dane as well. sad as hell 😭😭 the strange creatures that bond immediately with their chosen masters, how they become two halves of a complete whole. the mirrorcraft!!! how does it work!!! how do the sorcerers channel their magic, how does the red cloth work, and why the fuck was morien SKINLESS. LIKE WHAT.....

anyways final score: 6/10 and mostly because the story is unfinished and the final climactic scene with morien was super underwhelming. maybe book 2 will raise the score for me in hindsight but until it comes out (if it comes out) i can't say.

reverie

oh my god kane (main character) irritated me so much the whole fucking book. i understand that he's been through a traumatic experience and know that he's dealing with the consequences of actions he doesn't even remember doing due to his amnesia is making him lash out but MAN....... understanding it and tolerating it are two very different things

like i sympathize with his situation i really do: it's shitty, nobody seems to be able to help him, and the people who seem to know more about it are constantly trying to gaslight him into believing that nothing's wrong. but he was so fucking RUDE to his sister who was the only one in his corner the whole way through until she, too, fucking snapped from all the disrespect he was slinging her way.

not to mention the fact that he had the rules of the dreamworlds/reveries explained to him multiple times and he STILL IGNORED THEM. KNOWING THAT DOING SO PUTS PEOPLE'S LIVES IN JEOPARDY. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU

and it's not a "oh kane forgot" NO THIS BITCH WILLFULLY PUT THE LIVES OF OTHERS IN DANGER. and for what!!!! to do selfish shit??? that had absolutely no basis in logic??? he'd do something dumb, realize it was dumb, and then double-down. everything he did in the book actively hindered or harmed everyone else AND himself too! i hated him! the whole! fucking! book!!!

he lost his fucking mind over his sister like my guy can you just pump the brakes. pump the FUCKING brakes. stop ruining everyone's lives because you don't want and don't know how to fix things properly!!!!! GOD........ EVERYTHING YOU TRIED TO DO IN ORDER TO FIX THINGS MADE THINGS WORSE. EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!!!!!

the others (the name of his friend group) didn't deserve all the shit he put them through, especially after it was revealed that his amnesia was SELF-INFLICTED. he straight up ASKED to have his memories removed!!! and the others were just keeping away from him because they didn't want him dragged back into their world without the knowledge necessary to survive it. and even after he was told this he was mean as hell!! which okay, i would ALSO be pissed about being kept in the dark like that but his friends were like. they constantly tried to help him and for what. to be disrespected at every turn? blown off and ignored? given the cold, spiteful shoulder??? LEAVE HIS ASS!!! IF HE WANTS TO BE ALONE THEN LET HIM BE ALONEEEEEEE AARRRRGGHGHGHGUIHG

he pulled his head out of his ass for the last 5 or 6 chapters of the book but my god he pissed me off so much. fuck that guy. dean, sophia, and the others deserve better.

final score: also a 6/10 but only because the supporting cast was so good. the main antagonist poesy was also extremely iconic with the looks and the dark confidence. literally gaslit gatekept and girlbossed through the whole book.

edit: also it should be noted that even though some of the characters annoyed me, i still finished master of one in two days and i finished reverie in one. they were engaging enough for me to keep reading...... yeah :3
