Okay hear me out on this but . A futuristic sci-fi au where Vox is like this super computer / AI that is connected to basically everything . Sort of an artificial dictator .

And there are humans in stasis as well, some from as far back as the 1920s, just waiting to be revived.

And among those is Alastor .

And Vox, for the first time, feels something . Not only that but, one could say, it falls madly in love with the idea of him . It listens to the radio shows and it spends countless hours watching over him . And not in the way it watches over everyone, REALLY watches over him.

And it grows fond . But not in the way it should . It doesn’t feel love in the way a human would . To it love is ownership and protection . So why should it give him up? Why can’t it just keep him in stasis ?

Eventually, though, it realizes … oh . He would be happier if he was able to live . And it finally pulls him out of his coma .

At which point Alastor is fucking pissed because a) hell is fucking dope he was a sick deer overlord (no one knows what the fuck he’s talking about there) and b) WHAT THE FUCK !! WHY DOES EVERYTHING SUCK NOW !!! (Vox takes personal offense to this because it played a very important role in guiding the technology for the better chunk of an era) (Alastor snidely remarks about that ‘explaining’ it and all feelings of fondness and adoration Vox may have had evaporate immediately)

Anyways . I think humans shutting down AIs is intensely homoerotic and inherently tragic so . I don’t know . That happens . Somehow . Maybe ?
