my groupchat says i should take jonas' job so here is my proposed line-up/game plan for the villa match

the bench:

zinsberger, williamson, pelova, maanum, catley, foord, katie reid, williams, bouhaddi, vivienne lia

injury list:

miedema, weinrother, marckese, wälti (?), hurtig, ilestedt, goldie

my game plan:

goalkeepers:

d'angelo is in form and manu is unfortunately not. the aston villa attacking threat has not been strong this season and this is a good, lower risk game to make sure d'angelo is integrating well with her defense and see if she could be the better option for the game against chelsea

defense:

i know we love leah williamson and i do too but she's returning from injury and she's been overplayed. codina is aggressively in form now that she's speaking better english and her and lotte have been partnering up well. i think it may be the better partnership for chelsea in the final. leah williamson should join the game in the 70th minute to rebuild her minutes properly.

i don't need to justify playing lotte. if there is a very very comfortable scoreline (4-0 and above) in the 70th or 80th minute, i would sub her off to give katie reid a chance. she's been recalled from loan and she needs minutes to develop.

emily fox and katie mccabe are the most in form full backs and fox needs to be reintegrated into the defensive line ahead of chelsea in the conti cup final.

midfield:

with wälti injured, kyra is the obvious central defensive midfield option. if we then consider the central attacking midfield options of little, pelova and maanum. little is the most in form at the moment and is consistently the team's player of the match. sub her off in the 60th minute tho to give maanum minutes. pelova needs more rest, she's obviously tired in how she's been playing.

the wings:

caitlin foord needs rest. lacasse is in form and mead is in form. keep foord on the bench the whole time and sub mead off for vivienne lia in the 60th or 70th minute again she needs minutes to develop and she had a really positive game against london city.

the nine and the ten:

stina is a classic nine but russo isn't she is more like viv in how she plays. they both can be in the box but they also drop back to create chances. viv describes herself as a 9.5 and that is the best description for alessia too.

the reason viv and stina works is because viv creates chances that stina gets on the end of. the reason viv and alessia works is because one can create chances and the other can get in the end of them and then switch.

the reason NOTHING IS WORKING at the moment is because stina is there but no one creates chances for her. and then alessia is creating chances and no one is on the end of them. IF YOU MIX THEM TOGETHER YOU GET A SOLUTION TO BOTH PROBLEMS. alessia creates a chance and instead of no one being there, who's there? stina.

it works. it worked against villa in the conti cup, brighton earlier on in the wsl. PLAY STINA AND RUSSO TOGETHER JONAS AND STOP BEING A FUCKING IDIOT.

Willo takes a step forward, almost like he's going to follow Ben but decides against doing so as Ben walks away. Willo isn't going to go where he's not wanted. Ben comforts Ethan and hears Willo leave and it kills him. He thought Willo would fight for them, even when things were tough he thought Willo would want them.

Ben doesn't reach out to Willo, he isn't going to chase anyone or pressure anyone into speaking to him. He didn't do it when Kalvin left him, he's not going to do it now that Willo has. Ben doesn't know if they're broken up or anything, for the briefest of self-destructive moments he considers downloading an app and finding a guy to hook up with so that he at least felt like he'd ended the relationship for certain. He told Dec about the fight but not KT because Willo's accusation had Ben re-evaluating their friendship a bit. He also didn't tell Leo because once Leo knew something, KT knew too so Ben was left with Dec to confide in. Dec was never good at advice and Ben was only slightly better at talking about his feelings than he used to be so they didn't reach any kind of solution.

The problem with Willo and Ben though, is they are both equally stubborn and don't want to be the first to reach out. They are also both terrified of what will happen if they do talk, both would rather exist in the weird limbo of uncertainty than talk and have things between them end. They also still work together and when Ben comes into the office, they are awkward and silent with each other all morning. Until that is, Ben goes on his smoke break and Willo follows him. Instead of apologising, he enquires about Ethan's health and he's relieved he's doing better. Willo is also relieved Ben actually answered him and Willo then asks Ben how he's been.

Ben knew he could just say that Ethan being sick was stressful and give Willo nothing else but he doesn't want to brush Willo off. He loves Willo, he wants him to ask about them and he wants to be honest. Ben says it's been shit since they fought and Willo agrees. They talk about it. They're outside the building they work and they're talking about everything and Ben realises that it's the same spot that he had his breakdown (where he insulted Willo and then cried) when Declan called Kalvin. It feels like a full circle moment and he blurts out that he loves Willo. He's so relieved when Willo says it back, Ben had never said it sober to anyone before (he'd once said it drunkenly to Kalvin) and he'd never heard anyone say it back until Willo.
