my groupchat says i should take jonas' job so here is my proposed line-up/game plan for the villa match

the bench:

zinsberger, williamson, pelova, maanum, catley, foord, katie reid, williams, bouhaddi, vivienne lia

injury list:

miedema, weinrother, marckese, wälti (?), hurtig, ilestedt, goldie

my game plan:

goalkeepers:

d'angelo is in form and manu is unfortunately not. the aston villa attacking threat has not been strong this season and this is a good, lower risk game to make sure d'angelo is integrating well with her defense and see if she could be the better option for the game against chelsea

defense:

i know we love leah williamson and i do too but she's returning from injury and she's been overplayed. codina is aggressively in form now that she's speaking better english and her and lotte have been partnering up well. i think it may be the better partnership for chelsea in the final. leah williamson should join the game in the 70th minute to rebuild her minutes properly.

i don't need to justify playing lotte. if there is a very very comfortable scoreline (4-0 and above) in the 70th or 80th minute, i would sub her off to give katie reid a chance. she's been recalled from loan and she needs minutes to develop.

emily fox and katie mccabe are the most in form full backs and fox needs to be reintegrated into the defensive line ahead of chelsea in the conti cup final.

midfield:

with wälti injured, kyra is the obvious central defensive midfield option. if we then consider the central attacking midfield options of little, pelova and maanum. little is the most in form at the moment and is consistently the team's player of the match. sub her off in the 60th minute tho to give maanum minutes. pelova needs more rest, she's obviously tired in how she's been playing.

the wings:

caitlin foord needs rest. lacasse is in form and mead is in form. keep foord on the bench the whole time and sub mead off for vivienne lia in the 60th or 70th minute again she needs minutes to develop and she had a really positive game against london city.

the nine and the ten:

stina is a classic nine but russo isn't she is more like viv in how she plays. they both can be in the box but they also drop back to create chances. viv describes herself as a 9.5 and that is the best description for alessia too.

the reason viv and stina works is because viv creates chances that stina gets on the end of. the reason viv and alessia works is because one can create chances and the other can get in the end of them and then switch.

the reason NOTHING IS WORKING at the moment is because stina is there but no one creates chances for her. and then alessia is creating chances and no one is on the end of them. IF YOU MIX THEM TOGETHER YOU GET A SOLUTION TO BOTH PROBLEMS. alessia creates a chance and instead of no one being there, who's there? stina.

it works. it worked against villa in the conti cup, brighton earlier on in the wsl. PLAY STINA AND RUSSO TOGETHER JONAS AND STOP BEING A FUCKING IDIOT.

putting this under a read more bc i know im gonna get rambly BUT: the main idea behind this comic was that i got the mental image of helper being the first person to greet rusty in the (now) empty venture compound after jonas dies and rusty drops out. after a rewatch of the series i noticed that TECHNICALLY he wouldve seen helper again before this bc we see him in a flashback opening the car door for him as he leaves college so this comic TECHNICALLY doesnt make sense but im pretending that didnt happen. ANYWAY theres just smth so depressing to me about these two.......the fact that helper is the only one whos ALWAYS with him when we see a flashback to younger rusty. this robot loves him more than his actual father and it makes me deeply upset.

2nd Row:

Stane: Represents Slovenia, an unlikely team to reach the TOP 3 on his league group yet suceeded. The secret relies on Stane's coach/uncle Miroslav, who travelled all across europe as to learn each country's secrets. Secretly remorseful about it, Stane is willing to throw both the german/polish kids he's trained into the mud.

Cris: The portuguese captain, known as 'the navigator'. He inherited the love for the sea from his father, and he wants to include his navigation skills on tactics. Besides trying to keep his rivarly with France and Spain healthy (Which will reach its peak on the qualifier final), he also has to look over a particular pick for the team from Galicia.

"Vlad": Actually named Ladislau. He claims to be the descendant of a vampire/strigoi, but as intimidating as he tries to be he comes off as too much of a LARPer. Was meant to be Brockenborg's first FFI rival, but all his tricks were destroyed in said match. I apologize for any romanian who's reading this, I promise this is the only Dracula reference Romania's gonna get. Also if he looks familiar… It's not a coincidence (?)

Jurgen: He has been the captain of Netherlands previously, though a fierce battle with a rival team stole his win at a previous cup. He promises he won't repeat these mistakes, though he's willing to fight to become "THE lion of Europe". (You can guess who eliminated him.)

Noa: In a world where Haizaki isn't relevant, he'd be the 'devil of the field' instead. Probably the most powerful keeper in all of Europe (Besides Blasi?). He and Pierre share some history, sure, but believe it or not his true rival is Claude. The Babel and their excellent waffles started to dominate sales around Paris when the qualifiers started, becoming a menace for the Moreau baguette conglomerate. A fierce capitalist battle begins!!!

3rd Row:

Swiss guy: Sorry, I didn't came in time to give him a name, but I promise he has some relevance!!! His team is one of Brockenborg's rivals during the Euroleague group stage. The plan was also to make him Rose Griffon's 1st qualifier round rival, but midway though I replaced him with a funnier pick-

The danish and the georgian characters are just designs I had lying around in my mind, though they don't have any relevance. Both get eliminated by Slovenia and Poland respectively :( (This has ZERO correlation with current Euro events I swear. I have no idea how I predicted those....)

I had no designs for Austria and Slovakia unfortunately so I went with animals instead. The slovakian pick is the Tatra Chamois, which lives in the mountains of the same name. They're sooo cute ;_;

And Turkey... Don't ask me. Ask turkish mythology instead.
