His most popular posts are those of cute squirrels and birds that are being nursed back to health after being found wounded—animals just seem to naturally love him so the pictures are usually taken by his coworkers because his arms are full with cuddly animals that refuse to move

The other 10% of his posts are from the occasional hang outs with friends or coworkers after work—snaps of iced fruit teas from Puspa café or colorful clay plates overflowing with Collei’s homemade pita pockets.

He makes sure to reply to or at least like every comment, particularly those from people asking questions about the plants he posts or how to become a forest ranger. Even simple “wow that's so cool” comments often get at least a “thanks, glad you liked it” from Tighnari

He tends to use some cute forest or food emoji when they fit with his posts. For example, 🍄,🥙,🦊,🐦, etc.

Also tends to use “:)” when replying to his followers because he knows it can be difficult to read tone in text-based communications

Another one of these since i haven't done it in a while! Sketch -> finished illustration

Thoughts & process below the cut :>

Out of Bounds: i deleted the sketch of this off my ipad because i didn't like it, and for months it only existed as a screenshot on discord. finally in january of this year i was like Wait Actually and decided to keep working on it. I didn't achieve the look I was going for (kind of foggy and vague. It came out too sharp and high contrast) but it was fun to throw the kitchen sink at it for an afternoon and then call it done finally. I don't remember which horse this was originally supposed to be, I think Macha?

I reused the pose, you'll find the same one in my Pascal sketchbook from the section on gait studies. That's the cool thing about doing 30 sketches at once, you can finish them up any time you like for a different drawing

The Fool ft Islin: the original concept for this is from [takes a moment to decipher the american date system on discord] January 2022

It wasn't dynamic enough, but I've had this on the backburner for sooo long. I think I completed like 4 cards in between this sketch and the final version lol. But, for a bit of background, this is from my series of major arcana based in Inver, and in particular the events of the 1860s-era book series, Moth Viper Foal (a demo of the first book, Said The Black Horse, is available for free/pwyw in my shop). This scene is a companion to Said The Black Horse, depicting the aftermath of the traumatic fight that caused Islin to storm off. He had been working at the mill as a semiprofessional back alley surgeon when he received an offer to join the church and work as a trained surgeon in their hospital. But when he brought the good news back to his friends it was met with utter rejection, driving him to basically run away to join the church. while gay and trans. thus the card.

he didn't actually bring a bag with him when he ran out but for the sake of the card i drew him with one

Gryfon and Pantera: This is how 99% of holy beast drawings start out, even the super stylised ones. I struggle a lot to draw them in procreate so they start in sai and then i transfer them over. The story of this is already explained in the caption of the original post so I'll just talk about the process which was... honestly torturous. I actually don't like too much textures and effects on things (wild, I know) and this one and Out of Bounds are ones where I kind of preferred it pre-texturising.

The text on the side is the official in-universe report of the event, detailing the casualties, the valiant actions of Gryfon's knight before he died and so on. There's also spoilers in there :>

My main struggle with this art style is how it always ends up slightly TOO sharp and crisp in a way the just a blur filter never can correct. There's not a lot of immersion to break, to be fair, but I think this still does it a little. I need to get more comfortable doing the lines with larger and softer brushes, and allowing imperfections.

Went through the Milgram channel, watched... most of the videos again, trying to see if there were any tiny details I missed All I got was: Haruka - enough for a seperate post/theory, though I think someone's already gone over it? (psych ward theory) Futa - all the cans in Backdraft say "pressure", the graffiti is too hard for me to interpret for the most part. Though, the words in bubble text around the victim's witch icon reads "killcheroy", and there's the words "pazuzu" and... SaP? SkP? Does anyone know what all the other graffiti text says, I can only read the "pressure, pressure" ones. Mu - in After Pain, when you see the time on her phone, it reads 17:20. Why was she at school at 5:20? Shidou - looking at how he holds the scissors and knife in Throw Down, and how he opens the door and holds the "promise card" in Triage, I think he's left-handed? Mahiru - in Ai nan desu yo, the clothes she wears at one point have the caption "winter style", though many of the other pictures don't seem to have been taken in winter. She's also reading a lot, which fits with her literature degree. Kazui - near the end of half, he's shown with all his different costumes, without any masks. Kotoko - in Harrow, she looks at a sign/thinks about a sign with text that's partially cut off, but reads "at around ----- on this street... ----a traffic accident occurred... if ---- , please report to the police". She also thinks back to a news report showing the location and aftermath of an accident outside a house. Was she impacted by this? Random cipher translations (using assets from laniemae's archiving)

The text under the MW bit just says MARGLIM. The banner text says "lossitarelecste" on the top and "rutiro" on the bottom, or "et sceleratis sol oritur"/"light shines even upon the wicked".

The text reads "innocent sheep" on repeat. For the goat one, it reads "guilty goat" on repeat. Text above doors for T2 is "Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate", or "abandon all hope, ye who enter here". The quote is from Dante's Inferno, the words written into the gate to hell. For the T1 key visuals, the text individual to each prisoner simply gives basic info. For example, Yuno's would be "Milgram second prisoner, eighteen age, five foot (something or other) point (something or other) height, female", with the others being in the same format. The wall behind the prisoners in Undercover just has "ft" and "ft in", for measurement. The backgrounds that look like this:

all read "every (s)aint has a past, and every sinner has a future." This is the same for some of the wallpapers, and whenever that kind of vertical text shows up (voice trailers and such). It's missing the "s" in "saint". Tags on the clothes and the tops of the cards from Undercover are all just their names. The prison jackets seem to repeat the text, "Milgram ---- prisoner (name)". The Undercover CD's cipher text just reads "Milgram prison guard Undercover Es. Es theme song CV Yurina Amami". Es's sashes read (backwards) "De omnibus dubitandum" and "Prison Officer". Are there any other ciphers that I've missed? Because I'd really like to try and translate those!

The whole day today has been extremely successful for you and Anne a.k.a. your bestie. On a sunny morning you went for a long walk through the streets of Milan; you bought a few small souvenirs for yourself and your loved ones, and then both of you ate great breakfast in a roadside cafe, filled with the smell of freshly ground coffee, cookies and flowers; Italian bruschetta with the addition of soft cheese and sweet baked tomatoes was a 10 for you, while your friend opted for croissants with apricot jam and chocolate cream.

At lunch time you had dinner in a fancy restaurant in the middle of a big metropolis, where various pastas and red wine were the specialty. After your delicious meal you found the nearest gallery where you bought new clothes and some jewelry. Satisfied with your purchases, you returned to your apartment in a five-star hotel and put on slightly better clothes – clothes that would perfectly match today’s theme of the fashion show, i.e. black, blue and gold.

The show itself was great and relaxing, and the models on the runway were incredibly beautiful. You and Anne really appreciated a few clothes and from time to time, and you two chatted about them or accessory, as well as a hairstyle or shoes the models were wearing. In the meantime, you took some nice photos and short videos, which you quickly added on your social media with small captions next to them. Tonight was going to be really wonderful, even though it was only 20 minutes of Valentino’s show.

“... I must have these shoes and bag.” The pink-haired person suddenly said, and you just nodded looking at the beautiful dark-skinned model. Her angelic proportions and long legs matched perfectly with high-heeled shoes and a black handbag on her left shoulder. Every model was delightful – you couldn’t say otherwise.

“Look at that coat. Do you think it would suit me? The weather is perfect for such clothes…” You started uncertainly, looking at another (equally phenomenal) female model, and your friend just smiled.

“It will suit you, but only if you take it with... these boots.” They pointed to embellished heels and you giggled.

“Shoes are a must have, you’re right.” You replied immediately, sitting down more comfortably in a soft chair.

The show continued, and you and Anne still smiling, talking about clothes and plans for another day spent in the big city of luxury, fame and style.

This absolute gem is already climbing the Billboard Gospel Airplay Chart, and for good reason, teaming up with Jor'Dan Armstrong. This isn't just some other gospel track. It’s just the friend who stops by when you’ve had a rough day and somehow makes you feel a little bit lighter. Nia's got this amazing voice like a warm embrace and, when she says they did the song to 'put a smile on each other's faces', she literally means it. Armstrong co-wrote the track with her and, along with Kortez Harris, produced it, and it's already a total fan fave. What inspired the creation of this track? “Sunshine” was created to uplift the hearts and spirits of all who hear it. It’s an urban inspirational track meant to draw the ear of the listener with its infectious beat while bringing joy and a smile to one’s face as they’re listening. How did the collaboration with Jor’dan Armstrong come about, and what was it like working with him? Jor’Dan and I have the same management, Kortez Harris (Lewis Kortez Group), and Kortez sent me the track expressing that this collaboration of us writing the song together could be amazing! He was right. Jor’Dan produced an amazing track and we wrote the lyrics together. Working with Jor’Dan was a great experience. I was able to explore the R&B style both vocally and musically and merge it with an uplifting message. The final product is what you hear today!!! The title *Sunshine* feels uplifting. I received the track for “Sunshine” while I was singing on a cruise ship. I wrote the lyrics to “Sunshine” in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Once I got back, Jor’Dan and I got in the studio in Atlanta, Georgia and we put it all together. What does *Sunshine* mean to you personally? Is there a special story or memory tied to its creation? I love that “Sunshine” is bringing HOPE and a smile to people’s faces when they hear it. That was the heart of the song when we created it, and that’s what it’s doing right now. Since we’ve released the song, the response has been “It’s my wake-up song” “It’s a song that helps me to get my day started and get through the day.” I think the most rewarding thing I’ve heard so far is a response from a counseling center where people are struggling with addiction, they said they play “Sunshine” every morning to help set the tone for their day. For me, at the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about. It’s about inspiring and encouraging others.

That’s why “Sunshine” was created and it’s doing exactly what we hoped it would do. So, that makes me happy! What was the most memorable moment of collaborating on *Sunshine*? The most memorable moment for me was creating a video for “Sunshine.” It was my first time doing an official video for one of my songs, and that was a memorable experience. It was so much fun having people on set, dancers, family, and friends conveying “Joy and Sunshine” in the video. Kortez Harris (Lewis Kortez Group) made sure we worked with the best of the best. From the top directors (CreedLife – who’s directed videos for Drake and many others), to the professional dancers, to the drop-top convertible seen throughout the video. And then seeing the vision come to life as it premiered on BET Soul and BET Gospel, was certainly a moment I will never forget! How does *Sunshine* reflect your growth or evolution as an artist? Are there any particular genres, artists, or life experiences that influenced the sound or lyrics of this track? I believe most people know “Nia Allen” as a worship leader and worship artist. “Sunshine” represents an extension and another layer of who I am as an artist. I grew up listening to Brandy, Whitney Houston, LaLah Hathaway and many other artists outside the genre of gospel music. Sunshine is a demonstration of my diverse musical upbringing and influence and provides another facet of what Nia Allen has to offer to the world. Sunshine is using the urban R&B inspirational sound to convey an uplifting message. How does *Sunshine* fit into your broader catalog of music? Sunshine fits into my broader catalog of music in that the heart of the song is to inspire and encourage others. My name “Nia” means purpose, and my sole purpose in life is to bring inspiration, hope and encouragement to others (through music, speaking or daily interaction). So, “Sunshine” will fit with my current catalog and music that is still yet to come!! What do you hope listeners will take away from *Sunshine*? We wrote and sang the song together. It’s an Americana/Gospel feel. I believe it’s gonna be special. I recorded a Spanish version of my #1 Billboard song “Wait” with Gospel Recording Artist Joann Rosario. I’m singing the song in English and Spanish. I’m super excited about that. Last but not least, I collaborated and wrote a song with producer Aaron Lindsey (known for his work with Marvin Sapp “Never would’ve Made It,” and many classics) and I believe that will be the next single set to release early next year! If you could describe *Sunshine* in three words, what would they be and why? Best of 2022

Alvvays - “Belinda Says” After five years in the wilderness, Alvvays burst back on the scene with a masterpiece in Blue Rev, the ALBUM OF THE YEAR. Supplementing already deliriously catchy songwriting with a thick shoegazey wall of sound, the Canadian crew put out fourteen songs and forty minutes of pop rock perfection. No better example than “Belinda Says,” an aching short story combining clever lyrics, soaringly sympathetic vocals, and a killer guitar solo where you least expect it. It’s the SONG OF THE YEAR.

Big Thief - “Time Escaping” To my surprise, the inscrutable but incessantly listenable Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You was my most listened to album of 2022. Am I a little pissed because that album title is very stupid? I am. However, I’m very happy with the album as a whole and this song in particular. It’s tempting to write something about how this album’s word puzzle lyrics typified my 2022 and my own problems blah blah blah. Instead, let’s just accept that I like to think about songs with weird lyrics.

Disq - “Cujo Kiddies” Speaking of inscrutable, I saw this weird little band of twelve year olds open for Neko Case. And I got to sit in the ADA section real close ‘cause my wife was wearing a surgical boot!

Future Teens - “BYOB” A song so emotionally raw that I asked the singer at an extremely small show at HEALER if they were doing okay. They said they were! Very great song to scream along to in the car while hungover–big Rick Dalton energy.

LCD Soundsystem - “new body rhumba (from the film White Noise)” Obviously, the best thing to come out of the aforementioned ill-conceived film adaptation. An exchange:

Zach: Is it a really good LCD song or, like, are they just giving us what we like?

Me: Yes.

Megan Thee Stallion (ft. Dua Lipa) - “Sweetest Pie” I am a childish boy (FUN FACT: When my pal David and I traveled to Canada last summer, we introduced ourselves to essentially every Canadian bartender as “just childish boys.” We also 1) almost got in a fight [not our fault!] and 2) ate offal [it was gross!]). I guffaw every time I hear, “More bounce to the ounce/Pick it up, put it down/I wanna put his Nutty Buddy/In my, ah, Fudge Rounds.”

Mitski - “Working for the Knife” Just going to quote the Genius reading of the titular line, “the nature of the knife is that it isn’t just a symbol of oppression that enforces her simultaneous drive and dissatisfaction from a distance; it cuts her down at close range by directly interfering with her life, demanding more of her energy and constant performance. But, as she states, she’s “working for” the knife; she’s doing the knife’s work, cutting herself down as she pushes herself to produce and entertain.” GUH! Mitski! Take a vacation!!!

Pusha T (ft. Jay-Z and Pharell) - “Neck & Wrist” I have nothing clever left to say about Pusha T (PUSH!). He will make a dope song every two to three years, and I will include it in this list. I will copy and paste this caption.

Wet Leg - “Wet Dream” A delightful song off a delightful album whose praises I will not sing more of because I went to see them on my birthday in Louisville and they were very bad. Anyway, here’s the extra dreamy Harry Styles covering. LYRIC OF THE YEAR: “You climb onto the bonnet/And you're licking the windscreen/I've never seen anything so obscene/It's enough to make a girl blush/It's enough, it's enough to make a girl blush.”

Weyes Blood - “Grapevine” A strong contender for Album of the Year, and may eventually get there in hindsight. Lush and luscious Laurel Canyon pop.

If you are not my wife, please move on to the next song: I KNOW IT’S ALL MID-TEMPO BUT THAT’S OKAY BECAUSE THE LYRICS ARE POETRY AND LISTEN TO THAT VOICE THOSE HARMONIES! IT’S NOT BORING!!!

Yung Gravy - “Betty (Get Money)” Speaking of my wife, she introduced me to this song which is so 1) stupid and 2) good that it could only result in litigation. Terrific first four lines: “With your baby mama at the crib I blow her back out/Shawty Filipino and she call me Manny Pacquiao/Alley-oop without the hoop they call me Jerry Stackhouse/Dazing out in public but your mama made me snap out.” Yung Gravy loves MILFS. I would represent him pro bono.
