Appearance: 

While often making an attempt to appear as androgynous as possible, their male biology is still present in their square jaw and endomorph body type. Their height is also a factor into this. Freckles spread over their face and back, with moles appearing here and there on their arms. Amber eyes almost imitate sap between the shoulder-length light chocolate hair that’s as messy as the crevices of a tree’s bark. Thick eyebrows, big lips and large eyes only accentuate the expressiveness of their face.

Underneath their skin, however, something seems to be growing. These small, long lumps appear all over their body, growing in size and quantity as it approaches proximity to a rounder inflammation at the lowest point of their collarbone. These lumps do not extend past their neck, wrists and ankles.

Personality:

Blake cannot help but be kind in the end, even with the reluctance of a bleeding heart turned closed wound. Easily filled with anxiety and overwhelmed with the business of the city, they mostly keep to themselves. In quieter places or with people they are comfortable with, they can easily fill the quiet with softness.

Galaxy is a social butterfly, affable and modestly confident. She behaves much like a mother and is just as protective as one when need be. She also often compliments people around her, straightforward in her appreciation and willingness to bring joy - although she may sometimes come across as a tease.

Carter is extremely formal with everyone they meet, although quite agreeable and candid. She is very logical and views everyone as equals, although this does have him disregard people in higher positions or power. While not disrespectful, they will refuse to listen to being told what to do.

Torrid can be quite arrogant and blunt. He does not let himself be disregarded, quite easily bursting into a figurative flame. Despite being this hot-headed, he does can just as easily come back down to earth and apologize if the situation calls for it.

Kit can be easily described as a worrywart. They attempt to distance themselves from all sources of worry, forgetting all the worries of the world and simply enjoy life; otherwise they can easily become overfilled with anxiety - even more so than Blake.

Rune is rough around the edges as a defense mechanism. He may make mean jokes or disregard serious topics with a ‘I don’t care’ attitude. When this antagonization drops the only way he knows how to show appreciation is admitting that the other person is tolerable at that moment in time. 

Powers:

Although they have dabbled into traditional Wiccan Witchcraft, they have soon broken off and attempted to find their own source of magic. They have found peace in using the world around them, mixing and creating their own spells. While nowhere near powerful enough to have a direct and noticeable impact on their surroundings, they are still able to influence it in subtle ways. There still may be potential for more.

Instead of bursting flames out of their hands, they make sure fire never burns them. Instead of making water fly around, they can keep it from spilling, calming, or disturbing its shape. Instead of making the ground move to their will, they never trip over holes or cracks. Instead of whipping air like a weapon, the wind never blows their hat off their head. And many more little things such as these.

Blood is the catalyst for their magic.

They have an old black cat named Laila, which has one eye and a small chunk of one of her ears missing from before her adoption

A former legitimate and legal potion seller, they more often than not do back-alley transactions now.

They are currently living in an abandoned train cart, which they have repaired and furnished themselves the best they could.

They have a burn scar on their left palm and a large claw scar on their right biceps, both older than the lumps on their skin

They are in a possession of a revolver that can burst into radiant flames upon coming into contact with the right catalyst

Pregled sam započela pisati 7.11.2023. kada sam 90% toga zapravo napisala, a finalno sam uredila 1.1.2024.

Zasigurno sam nešto i (ne)namjerno izostavila, ali što ćemo kad je sve ovo subjektivnost.

Ajmo reć da je polu-poredano i po favoritima, hmm.

Ova godina je bila prožeta nostalgijom za ponovnim gledanjem određenih filmova i serija, te čitanjem knjiga. Glazba me sve manje impresionira.

Pregledavajući zapise za ovu godinu, imam osjećaj da sam sadržajno bila više fascinirana u prvoj polovici.

It’s been a minute since I did one of these, but in a year that started with the death of a legend , and saw music infrastructure fracture even further into hyper-niche corners, I found myself more engaged than I’ve been in a while with new rap. Maybe the sheer impossibility of staying on top of everything freed me up to just hear what I hear and rock with what I like, or maybe I just finally burnt myself out playing Starlito tapes on repeat and needed something to switch it up with, but picking 50 was actually kinda tricky. 2. The Blues Stones - Rolling with the punches : picture me, été, vitres baissées, lunettes noires, basses à fond dans la gova, passant lentement en ville comme si j'étais badass.

3. Dayseeker - The World Was Quiet : j'adore la fin, cette montée pour une fin si calme et triste c'est émouvant.

End of Year Wrap-Up 24/12/2018

Happy Merry to all you readers!

I’ve had a great year but all us music fans have had an even better one! Streaming services mean that now more than ever we can experience the musical output from all corners of the globe (though overwhelmingly the English-speaking parts of it) to understand different points of view, learn of the goings on in other parts of the world and most importantly indulge ourselves in a bit of a boogie. All the moods, genres and feels you could think of are out there, so over the holiday period perhaps try and listen to something new. Who knows it might break the tension with that younger/older relative round the xmas table when you find they also happen to like k-pop/jazz-funk/grindcore or at the very least you can bicker about the tragedy of the current album charts (Greatest Showman: 21 weeks!). To aid you in your quest for knowledge/excitement/small-talk I have spent almost 30 minutes curating a best-of for both albums and singles in the year of 2018.

the sun is glaring through the windscreen, reflecting in your aviators as you rocket down the highway in front of you. you’re in the passenger seat of the sleek black SUV with luke confidently navigating you from the driver’s seat. outside of the window, more nameless towns speed past as the ice cold a.c. blasts out blowing your long hair and luke’s newfound curls backwards. luke takes one toned arm from the wheel and reaches again for the radio, turning it up as loud as it can go. a whoop of joy escapes him and yet another howl of laughter bursts from your lips as you recognise the song. keeping one hand on the wheel, luke’s other hand pounds out the beat in the air as he effortlessly screams the lyrics to the classic tune. you can barely keep your eyes off him, in utter adoration of the boy sat beside you failing to keep in the shrieks of laughter he’s causing you. a playful, pointed glare straight at you signals that he desperately wants you to join in with the dance party for the nth time today. picking up on the drums, you begin to stomp out the beat with your right leg, converse kicking against the mats on the floor. if possible, the delighted grin on luke’s face grows even wider at your participation. he’s being over dramatic now, using his free hand to pronounce every beat and riff in the song. finally snapping out your fixation of him, you let the epic song drift over you, air guitaring at the crescendos and shaking your head back and forth. your hair whips around you as both of you lose yourself in the music. as the song ends, the two of you are breathless with joy and peels of laughter ring throughout the car. you’re hungry, your legs ache from sitting in the car since breakfast this morning outside the tiny, rather dirty motel you’d both stayed in but there’s nowhere else you’d rather be. heading to who knows where with this enchanting boy beside you, freedom of your heart and mind is all you could feel.

the monotonous voice of the GPS is once again ignored as luke skilfully peels the car off the highway in search of nourishment. despite your complaints about needing snacks since leaving the motel that morning, luke insisted that you make progress on your cross country journey. where you were headed was as undecided as it was unimportant, but he’d wanted to experience somewhere new, somewhere he hadn’t seen before, somewhere he’d make his first memories with you. you were frantically googling places to eat in the back end of nowhere, silently rejoicing that his love of food had finally won him over. the deserted town didn’t look promising and the dreams of a greasy diner lunch were fading in your mind. jokingly, you tease luke about how he should have listened to you in the first place; how right now you could be devouring that delicious, juicy, double-stacked cheese burger at that diner you’d passed an hour or so ago. laughing, luke groans as he refuses to admit defeat but also silently agrees with you. ever the optimist, you insist that luke pulls into the gas station just ahead. you instruct him to fill up the car as you disappear into the store ahead, grabbing a small basket as you enter. fifteen minutes later, you return to luke leaning on the hood of the car, scrolling through his phone as the sun showers him in its rays. you shake the plastic bag to get his attention and throw an ice cold bottle of water at him as soon as he looks up. as expected, he effortlessly catches it with one hand and pockets his phone with a playful smirk. without a word but with complete trust, luke grins and follows you to a nearby grass verge overlooking a deep forest. you both take a seat side by side – him a little closer than he needed to be with all of the room on the grass – and begin to root through the bag of food you had purchased. snacking your way through the full bag, you chat and enjoy the fresh air and beaming sun of the great outdoors. the location wasn’t the best with the highway zooming above you but somehow, the boy next to you made it one of the best lunches you’d had in a long time. you breathe in deeply, closing your eyes and reclining against the warm grass. without a second thought, the body beside you lays down, shuffling closer still.

you’d settled back into the car after your al fresco lunch, luke insisting once again that he drives. you’d taken control of the music, selecting a playlist to match the mood in the car. your head was resting against the seat and your bare feet were resting on the dashboard of the car, despite luke’s joking disapproval moments before. the windows were rolled as neither of you could get enough of the feeling of fresh air swirling around you, perhaps both thinking of how wonderful and easy your impromptu lunch was, or maybe both riding the delicious wave of freedom that was surrounding you this trip. no meetings, no deadlines, just the two of you and the open road. you roll your head sideways to glance at the boy in the drivers seat. his arm closest to the door is resting on the open window with his large hand pushing back the curls from his face. his lips were silently mouthing the words to the song blasting from the car speakers, not wanting to disturb your thoughts. your eyes move down to his hand on the wheel, tapping out the beat to the song serenely, almost reminiscent of the karaoke session you’d had earlier in the day. you let your eyes continue to wash over this wonderful, remarkable boy beside you as you ignore the inconsequential scenery whizzing past the car. whilst you were deep in your thoughts, luke had noticed your staring and a soft smile had taken over his lips. in a calm, slow movement, he swaps the arm holding his head and places it on the wheel, freeing the arm closest to you to reach across the centre console. after glancing back at the road quickly, his gaze returns to yours as his hand softly squeezes your short clad thigh. his thumb moves back and forth in a comforting way as you place your hand onto his wrist; not gripping or desperate, but the simple act of touching the boy next to you is enough. the song moves on, as does your journey.

drive on (promise – ben howard)

the sun’s blazing rays that had kept both of your company throughout your journey today had begun to set. it was finally your turn to drive as luke had handed over the keys at the last rest stop. you finally had a destination in mind for today; a small motel – hopefully a little cleaner than last night’s – that you’d found on tripadvisor. luke had whooped gleefully as you’d read out the motel’s selling points of a soft queen bed, coffee maker and a pizza place just next door. you rejoined the highway, nearly empty as most of the other roads had been that day and felt luke settle in to the seat beside you. unable to keep your eyes from him still, you glance over to see ocean blue eyes drifting closed. smiling, you reach out to turn down the music slightly to help him sleep but you jump as his calloused hand stops yours. he explains through a peaceful mumble that the music reminds him of you; he wants to think of this day in his dreams so he doesn’t feel too far away from you. you swallow, nodding your head because you can’t think of the words to respond and retract your hand slowly from the stereo volume. you feel luke’s hand reach for yours again, intertwining your fingers together and settling them on his thigh. you shuffle in your seat to accommodate the stretch of your arm, and sigh peacefully as you see luke’s eyes finally close with a flutter. you take a deep breath, trying to calm the warm swirl of emotion inside at this boy who’s made himself such an integral part of your life. you breathe out, refocusing on the road and giving your joined hands a small squeeze. the golden hour ends for the day and you drive on, contented, calm and so, so in love.
