(Comfort Characters part 6.) Queen Elsa ❄️

I still haven't figured out how I want to draw Elsa but this is my most recent drawing of her. I remember when I was a kid, when Frozen just came out that everybody was obsessed with Elsa but I liked Anna better, I thought she was the actual main character and hero of the story and that she was cute and funny and that everybody just liked Elsa more because she had cool powers. Then rewatching Frozen for the first time in years on New Years Eve I realized "oh wait, I've literally become Elsa". She's painfully relatable now, I even wrote an essay for my best friend Monique explaining why but probably nobody wants to read that :')

This also might be the last of the comfort characters series thingy because the rest of them are not human, lol

I've been obsessed with Frozen again recently since watching it to celebrate New Years Eve so I had to draw my dear Elsa. I wanted to draw her with her old dress on but with her hair down cus I love that iconic moment in Let It Go when she lets her hair down.

This is an ice fairy. I was going for sharp and geometric and decided on ice crystals. I think she turned out pretty good looking.

Some princes are born to rule. Others are born to be ruined.

Zitao was supposed to be the former. A prince in silk and frost, draped in the weight of expectation and gold-trimmed duty. A son meant to uphold his lineage, to embody grace and refinement, to stand at the pinnacle of power with a serene smile and an unshakable gaze. They dressed him in luxury, polished his words, taught him to wield elegance like a weapon. A perfect prince, untouchable and pristine.

But fairy tales lie. And Zitao has never been good at playing the part they wrote for him.

They wanted a boy made of porcelain, delicate and beautiful, easy to place upon a pedestal and admire from afar. Instead, they got something far more dangerous. Porcelain cracks. But ice? Ice is merciless. It does not bend. It does not break. It carves its own path, no matter the cost.

They whispered that he was spoiled, that he had never faced hardship, that he lived wrapped in privilege too thick to know pain. They never saw the blade hidden beneath the velvet. Never realized that beneath the silk and diamonds, Zitao was learning how to sharpen his edges, how to turn expectation into armor, how to forge himself into something greater than the future they had planned for him.

Some princes don’t become kings. But Zitao never wanted the throne.

He could have been everything they wanted—he could have been perfect. But perfection is just another gilded cage, and he has never been one to suffer chains, no matter how beautifully they gleam.

Let them kneel. Let them call him reckless. Let them curse his name in hushed voices.

He was never meant to rule their way. He was meant to burn their expectations to the ground.
