before, it was staged and Katniss was stilted and made up to look differently, even double her age, and it wasn't REAL
so Haymitch calls it out, how bad it is, how the revolution will die if that's all they've got, and then pushes to make it real, to put her in actual combat and keep the cameras rolling. it's all to let Katniss be her authentic self because that's what people respond to, that's what will keep the revolution alive
but I just have to wonder now, with propaganda being a main theme of SOTR, how much Haymitch was speaking from personal experience, then.
