What absolute garbage have I seen?
I don't have words, I feel.........don't know how to say it, like....cold sweats.........
Damn, that was horrible and I feel horrible for the one who was asked, like how? Why? But what an absolute answer they delivered!, it was perfect!
how the fuck do you look at such a beautiful quote like that and thing "this is so odysus and peleople''. G*d you theyfabs are all the same, go and experience some actual culture rather then making everything about characters from whatever shitty 2000s thing convinced you you were a 'cute boi'. 'enbies' and fandomites have ruined every online space theyve touched. please read little women or pride and prejudice or something that will make you actually feel like a woman
Hate to break it to you terf, but Odysseus and Penelope aren't from the 2000s.
Don't pretend to be cultured just because you read that one mediocre Victorian woman book in high school if you don't recognize the names of characters from the foundational text of all western literature.
Also note that every single fascist movement claims its targets are ruining intellectual spaces by existing in them. You aren't special because you're painted pink.

feel free to ignore this if it’s not what you’re after but in honour of your new chirlie status, maybe some touch starved choscar? as a prompt? <3
i would absolutely love to ring in my new chirlie status with some choscar!!
i fear i went a little tame and platonic with the prompt, but any more and it would’ve turned into a full plotted fic I’m afraid.
“Charles, hi,” Oscar stutters out a little shocked when he sees him enter the quaint little bakery.
Charles pushes his dark black sunglasses off his nose whilst he peers right at Oscar, before removing them all together with a warm, open expression.
“Oscar!” Charles beams. “What are you doing here?”
Oscar holds up the paper bag filled containing a banging chocolate croissant. “Just getting some breakfast, mate,” Oscar answers, a little confused to be stating the obvious.
Charles laughs and touches Oscar’s upper arm. It’s fleeting, barely even a whisper of contact made between Charles’ warm hand and Oscar’s tense arm, but it lights up every nerve in Oscar’s body. A million little zaps from the detonation site all down his body.
A shiver escapes him, too late to pull it back.
“I see that,” Charles says, having missed the odyssee that took over Oscar for one split second. “In Monaco, I mean. Visiting Lando?”
“Ah no, moved here a few months back. ‘S a rite of passage, eh?” Oscar smiles sheepishly.
The queue in front of Charles has dissipated, it’s just one younger girl in front of him. Oscar hopes she doesn’t know who they are.
“Guess it is, mate. Let me know if you need any tips, yes?” Charles says, patting Oscar’s shoulder to step past him, towards the cashier.
“Yeah, no, sure,” Oscar stutters after him, conversation clearly over. He stands there a second longer before the bell above the bakery’s door jingles and snaps him out of it.
*
It happens again a few weeks later.
Oscar’s been in the game long enough to be comfortable with all the bells and whistles of the weekend. Knows what to say in interviews, what part of the truck to occupy, and who to stand next to. But a badly timed unlaced shoe means he’s last on the truck for the driver’s parade, and the road to safety looks treacherous.
Just as he’s contemplating how to get past Max and towards the front of the truck without getting sucked into a conversation, the vehicle starts moving and Oscar stumbles—right into Charles.
Oscar makes a startled noise as he steadies himself, helped by Charles grabbing him by both of his arms this time to help him up.
The trip is almost enough for the touch to pass him by unbeknownst to him. Almost, that is.
It’s like in the bakery. He’s wearing a jacket, but it doesn’t do anything to hide the feeling of Charles touching him, gripping him like Oscar’s life depends on it. Which, in all fairness, is not a bad assessment given the fact they’re on a moving truck going around a hairpin.
“You alright?” Charles asks once Oscar has found his feet. He’s still holding onto Oscar.
Oscar swallows around the feeling and gives Charles a weak smile. “Yeah, thanks, mate. Could’ve broken my arm or something.”
Charles drops one hand but keeps the other on Oscar, moving it up towards his shoulder.
He drives around in death traps, for heavens sake, and Charles touching him is what gets him feeling like this; like his nervous system is both regulated and deregulated all at once. It’s calming and makes him feel at ease, but it’s also causing his heart to race and a flush to rise to his cheeks.
“Well,” Charles laughs, “we wouldn’t want that, would we?” He squeezes Oscar’s shoulder as he says it, and Oscar laughs with him, if only to hide the whine that’s threatening to escape.

do you like Greek myth in general or just epic?
I'd say in general,
My grandmother's family traveled from greece to turkey when she was just a baby so i really dont have any ties to greece at all. Not the language nor the culture. And i won't stand here and claim to be greek in any way because I'm really not. But it is what got me interested in learning about the history which in turn lead me down the rabbit hole of learning about ancient greece. (And with it parts of the mythology)
A couple years ago i took a trip to Ephesus (Efes, izmir) and in the future if given the opportunity I'd love to go see the remains of Troy next. (Truva, Hissarlik)
(The obsession with -) Epic kind of came out of nowhere (cough Jay's tiktok) and now I'm scrambling to get my hands on a translation of the Odyssee and the iliad.
When posting about Epic i don't really bother with historical accuracy because i consider it it's own thing that's undeniably modern so i just have fun with it.

I need book recommendations please. I read captive prince and I’m losing my mind.
ooooh gladly!
so first of all, nothing really compares to CaPri, however i do have some - imo - very good recommendations that might have similar vibes.
The Kingdoms by Natasha Pulley - historical (18th and 19th century) Fantasy. Amnesia and time-travelling, with a veeeery Laurent-coded love interest.
The Scottish Boy by Alex De Campi - historical (14th century) Captive/Prisoner and (reluctant) man who has to hold him captive, secret identity, political schemes, revenge, war
Solomons Crown by Natasha Siegel - historical (12th century), Crown Prince of England (Richard Lionheart) and King of France (Philipp II) falling in love despite their countries being enemies, political schemes, strained family relationship to the point of going to war against family members, allies to enemies to allies again
A Taste of Gold and Iron by Alexandra Rowland - not my personal favourite but still good, Fabtasy, outstanding non-european-centric world-building, anxiety rep, queer-normative, Disgraced Prince and his guard(s) having to uncover a political intrigue that could dethrown his sister, the monarch, nightly shenenigans in taverns while hiding their identity, forced proximity, kinda co-dependent relationship
Winters Orbit by Everina Maxwell - SciFy, Prince has to marry the widow of his cousin for diplomatic reasons who then gets accused of having killed his first husband, political intrigue, past abuse
Fence by CS Pacat and Johanna the Mad - graphic novels, sports (fencing), YA?, might be an entirely different setting but the character dynamics are reminiscent of CaPri/ you can tell Pacats writing
The Aeneid by Virgil - the great Roman epic. to this day im convinced Pacat might have drawn some inspiration from this (or possibly the Odyssee and the Iliad)
I hope that helps. Thank you for your ask!

answered ask from my curiouscat! feel free to send me asks either here on tumblr or on “curiouscat.live/kartoffelstern”, be it ideas, headcanons, questions, art requests, etc….or just saying hi!)
hellooo! what is ur take on how doflamingo felt when he’s pointing the gun at Rosi, killing him and the aftermaths? Was it (twisted) love? Hate? Both? Do you think he has any nightmares about him killing his dear Rosi again?
ah, DQ bros...my beloved, tragic birds;; here's my personal take, less gooooo
I do believe that Doffy genuinely loved Rosi. He took him in without asking many questions after all these years of being separated from each other, made him one of his executives in an instant because hey, that's his cute lil baby brother! and he came back into Doffy's arms!!
it's a complicated relationship they have - certainly anything BUT healthy. Doffy's understanding of love & family is twisted, riddled with his urge to control those he loves, because he thinks that only he knows what's best, only he can make Rosi happy!
Betrayal is the one thing Doffy despises most of all. He might forgive failures, but if stabbed in the back, he won't hesitate to punish even those he considers to be closest to him. he demands absolute loyalty, ultimate control. If one puppet dances to its own tune, he will cute off its strings and throw it away.
This is the second time Cora betrayed him - first it was infiltrating his new family as an undercover Marine with the goal of bringing him down, second was choosing Law over him. Law, a boy who resembled himself so, so closely...and yet Cora chose to go behind his own blood brother in favor of some kid he barely even knows? (Rosi wants to right his mistakes, do the right thing now that he couldn't do for Doffy when he was just a helpless child himself) it only fuels that ever-burning rage Doffy harbors
so when he realizes this, his only option is to shoot his heart dead - even if it might cause him pain as well (killing Cora was the moment he shed his last sense of humanity and spiraled further and further into madness)
I also think that Rosi's betrayal and subsequent death at his own hands haunts Doffy's dreams
causes him to hallucinate shadows on the wall that look like black feathers, the whiff of smoke where there is none
maybe he even spots him in his solitary cell in Impel Down as a silent ghost...
BONUS: | SPOILERS FOR THE OP ODYSSEE GAME INCOMING!!! |
you know that moment when memory!Cora saves Law from Doffy during the Dressrosa level? and Doffy was very quick to say "well, I killed you once, I can kill you again" I think it makes you inclined to say 'huh, Doffy must have really not cared for Rosinante at ALL if he's that casual about murdering his own brother in cold blood yet again', but also take into account that it had been 13 years at that point and Doffy's sanity has massively deteriorated. I think his younger self would have reacted differently had he been given a second chance to spare Rosi (or maybe that's just my own wishful thinking mhmm)
ANYWAYS...I am so in love with the DQ bros and their tragic, tragic relationship, I could ramble on about them all day;;

Slig
Tumblr media
Concept art by Steven Olds, © Oddworld Inhabitants. Accessed at the Oddworld Wiki here
[Sponsored by @martyslittleusedblog. They're been trying to get me interested in monsters from platforming games for a while, and this is what hooked me. Partially because I remember Oddworld and Abe's Odyssee for the PS1. My cousin was the one with the Playstation, and he didn't like the game, but I remember poring over the manual and delighting in the concepts and the art. A dystopian game where a low level employee at a meat packing plant fights a corporate empire and becomes a reluctant Chosen One? Yes please!
The sligs are the main grunt force of said corporate empire, the Magog Cartel. Imagine if koopas carried shotguns. Apparently a slig slave revolt is a plot point in one of the later games. Good for them. If you're super worried about game balance, this is another monster, like the watchuka, that has a lot of treasure for its CR because guns and other ranged weapons are very expensive in Pathfinder 1e.]
Slig CR 4 NE Aberration This green skinned creature has a squid-like head with five finger-like feelers surrounding its mouth. It has large muscular arms and metal legs. It wears a set of red-tinted goggles and carries a large gun.
Sligs are eusocial mollusk-like creatures native to the swamps of the planet Mudos. They are most commonly found elsewhere as grunts, soldiers and assassins, as their queens have gladly sold the entire species to the Magog Cartel, a massive industrial empire. In exchange for unquestioning service, the Cartel provides sligs with greater mobility. A slig is born with strong forelimbs and stunted hind limbs, perfectly serviceable for pulling themselves between bodies of water, but good for little else. A slig in slig pants, however, can walk, jump and use its arms for carrying weapons; typically guns. Sligs love guns. Most sligs also wear goggles on a regular basis, both to protect their eyes (they are naturally nocturnal and live in foggy swamps) and because higher ups in the Magog Cartel find their beady eyes aesthetically displeasing.
Few sligs are very bright, but most of them are very cruel. Unlike many other eusocial sapient species but more similar to bumblebees and paper wasps, there is frequent infighting among sligs as they jockey for rank. The Cartel has managed to channel that into organized contests like kill counts, employee of the month bonuses and frequent games. Another privilege is the use of names—all sligs have a name, but using it publicly instead of a number and rank has to be earned by service to the Cartel. Sligs off duty are often found playing card games or sports, and those not playing are usually betting their spare income on such matches.
A slig stands about five feet tall. They are short lived, and considered adults by 2 years and ancient by 20.
Variant Sligs Sligs are naturally morphologically plastic, as they respond quickly to changes in hormone levels. In addition, different sligs may have different abilities due to different equipment and cybernetics bestowed on them by the Magog Cartel.  For example, Big Bro sligs are Large sligs who have to be equipped with special four-legged slig pants to support their weight, and are often given automatic weapons. Some sligs are given flying harnesses instead of pants—they have a fly speed of 40 feet (perfect), but no land speed. Other sligs, especially with class levels, may be equipped with heavier armor, flamethrowers, or rocket launchers.
Slig          CR 4 XP 1,200 NE Medium aberration (aquatic) Init +2; Senses darkvision 60 ft., Perception +6 Defense AC 17, touch 12, flat-footed 15(+2 Dex, +3 natural, +2 armor) hp 47 (5d8+25) Fort +5, Ref +3, Will +4 Weakness light blindness Offense Speed 30 ft., swim 20 ft. These pants grant the slig a 30 foot land speed, a +2 armor bonus to AC (that doesn’t stack with worn armor) and a +4 racial bonus to Acrobatics checks. A slig without its pants on has a land speed of only 5 feet, and cannot use manufactured weapons as it needs its hands to move. A slig without pants is a CR 3 creature. A slig’s pants are destroyed when the creature is slain (and cannot be worn by anything besides a slig regardless). Uplifted (Ex) A slig gains Exotic Weapon Proficiency (firearms) and Gunsmithing as bonus feats.

My Idea for a Unova Remake
Make the game twice, no, thrice as long.
Have it take place in a post-apocalyptic, frozen-over by Kyurem Unova, where all Pokemon are wild and out to hunt you (basically "liberated" from their Trainers)
Ghetsis is no longer the ruler of Unova, but his son N is
N is no longer good, he is now trying to be like his dad, liberating Pokemon from their trainers
Have every Pokemon from gen 1-9 show up
You can no longer battle Gym Leaders until the post-game, because their pokemon have been "liberated" from them. You instead have to rescue them from N's capture
Your only partner is your rival (depending on gender, Hilda or Hilbert)
The final boss of the game is N, and it is a double battle
During the final boss, every Gym Leader you've rescued will battle with you
Like Abe's Odyssee, you have to rescue at least half of the Gym Leaders to get the good ending (that number being 7/14 Gym Leaders)
If you rescue less than seven Gym Leaders you will get the bad ending
Battling/rescuing the Elite Four is optional, but you will get the best ending if you do so
Since Unova has been frozen over, a fire type pokemon will be your starter, but you can still choose the other starters as your parteners
After battling N (if you didn't defeat Kyurem), Kyurem will be the true final boss of the game

BACK IN TIME: LADY GAGA IN LES HEAL F/W09
On her way to Amsterdam, Lady Gaga posted a selfie from her private plane on July 25th, 2009. We're only able to see the upper half of her dress but that doesn't stop me from reporting about it to you!
Tumblr media
The fashionista chose the Odyssee dress from French duo Alice Reydellet and Hervé Koelich's label Les HEAL's Fall/Winter 2009 collection.
This stunning dress, which can be worn as a top too, is tailoed from Mikado silk and scarled Panama fabric. It features a framed and piped cut-out structure, along with a silver logo zip front.

I had vacation and tooth surgery and thus a lot of time to be lazy! <3 A chunk of it I spent listening to the narrations of some creepypasta series. Though, honestly, I'm not sure they can be called that? They're more episodic paranormal stories. Yes, there's monsters running around and dangerous, maybe scary stuff going on, but they're also incredibly wholesome and soo sweet and very queer! So if you're into that, go look for the stories written by @02321 on r/nosleep and Youtube! My Name's Skyler, I'm a Freelance P.I. narrated by Baron Landred (the title on r/nosleep is I Work as a P.I and a Government Agent approached me to help with a case) and I Deliver Mail to Cryptids narrated by Animas. (And also a bunch of stories more set in the same universe of the Silver King.)
Now back to our regular books! We have 4 princes, 2 kings and 1 queen this month!
Banshee Blues (Nina Blazon): I'm in the editing process of my latest novel, which I'm writing in German, so I felt I should read a German, non-translated book for once. This was the only one in my pile but it is from my favourite German author, so all was well. I have a lot to thank her for. The first novel read from her was Der Dunkle Kuss der Sterne (The Stars' Dark Kiss) and that was the first time I liked first-person viewpoint! Her next book had split POV and different tenses and I had to admit it was done well. Banshee Blues was not quite up to par with her previous works but it went a few new directions than usual which was nice as well. It tried very hard to lead you astray with what's going on and who is evil and who isn't. And while I liked how things turned out between the two leads it would have been monumental to have them stay platonic.
The Fallen King's Penitent Soldier (Tales of the High Court 5) (Megan Derr): Sigh, it's been a ride. I had a good time with the whole series. I love the worldbuilding, really. But it is alright to end it here, while it's still good, you know. In a way, these five stories are all built very similar: Being kidnapped by bad guys, running from the bad guys or running after the bad guys for the first half and afterwards waiting to let other people sort it out. There's probably a limited amount of iterations you can go through while still be interesting. But for these five volumes it was fun! As for book 5 by itself, I think it's a good thing it comes so late in the series. Because it really takes its time. There's a lot introspection going on for the two protagonists which is okay because they go through a lot but it's also very long and sometimes not much else happens. I liked the two of them, I liked how religion was handled, I liked how it went full circle back to Allen's story. I liked the series. Good times. :)
Prince & Knight (Daniel Haack & Stevie Lewis): I wanted this for the pretty pictures. But apparently the universe didn't want me to? I ordered this last year already, but the package went on an odyssee through several cities without ever arriving at my home. I ordered it again this year and … the same thing happened?! 8D The odyssee was shorter this time, mind you, but … why again?! I tried a third time and ordered it for pick up at a local bookstore and that finally worked. Geez! It's a children's picture book so the story is as basic as it goes. Is it goo for children? I wouldn't know. The dragon doesn't die and it's very sweet and very pretty.
In all seinen Farben (Boy Queen) (George Lester): I had some exhausting weeks at work and thought I could use something inspirational. Something about finding your own way and shine. Which happens in this book but there's also a lot of drama going on and I was not prepared for the rock-bottom-hit in the beginning. xD I mean, it was written in the blurb but I've owned the book for a year why should I reread the blurb … I know nothing about drag or make-up or anything in that direction (I did watch like 15 minutes of the drag show at Comic Con Stuttgart last year but that hardly counts), so it was charming and interesting to read about.
We Could Be so Good (Cat Sebastian): I have to apologise to everyone on the waitlist for this at my library because I could have read it faster but … once I realised what sort of direction the 70% drama might take I had a tough time reading on. They were so happy and it was nice and I just did not want to suffer! I did assume, since the book goes out of its way to address how all queer books published during the mid of the last century would have to end badly (and the protagonist outright refusing to read them therefore), it would probably take a turn for a happy ending. That was the only hope that kept me going. If I had known any of the author's other work I maybe wouldn't have worried so much, because it's written in her bio already that she'll only write happy endings?! Well … So for anyone else fearing the drama of a book set in 1959: No queer person was harmed in this book! (Nothing major anyway.) I like the book, though! Enjoyed reading it. Nick and Andy are both sweet. But that fear did something to me, took me a while to recover. :'D
Prince & Assasssin (Perilous Courts 1) (Tavia Lark): I needed something simple for my fragile heart and it seems gay fantasy is my comfort read now in the same way my mom reads stuff named like "The Little Bakery at XYZ Street". And what should I tell you, yeah, there're men who are tenderly and not so tenderly intimate with each other, yeah yeah, but there's also giant talking cats! Giant talking cats! Also, I really like the author's writing style. It's so smooth! I started reading and didn't want to put it down anymore because it read so smoothly! The book itself was so much better than I had expected (which was basically nothing). It won't blow you off your feet but it's pretty enjoyable and surprisingly wholesome. Also the worldbuilding felt just right. I'm looking forward to reading the next volumes soon!
King of Immortal Tithe (Darkmourn 2) (Ben Alderson): Did I buy the expensive hardcover just because I like the illustration more than the one of the paperback? Why hello, that's me. So this is the second fae book I read this year. It's apparently a universal truth now that fae men are the most beautiful and well endowed beings on earth and beyond. Not that I mind, you do you, but why does fae anatomy work the same as humans' actually? Anyway, this is a stand-alone in a series of stories all set within the same universe. I like that concept. Hunting for pieces of lore is fun. Arlo is a feisty character so following him was enjoyable. The switch from enemy to lovers was kinda sudden like … I can see why but personally it still felt sudden. Also Faenir calling Arlo constantly Darling was not my taste but you know, if it's just that, I can overlook it. The twist at the end had me barking out evil laughter (which means approval). I did hold back reading the final chapter until I read the first volume as not to spoil any more! (While they are stand-alones the previous story is referenced in this one.)
Lord of Eternal Night (Darkmourn 1) (Ben Alderson): "He was so tall and his hands were so large and his length was so great and so thick my fingers couldn't touch reaching around it. He was not just a man, he was a god!" I laughed. That's not a literal quote, but a good summary. Yeah. I laughed. And while praising one guy he was also dissing his former lover, the baker's son, for not being as large. Not the poor lad's fault, no need to get mean! Should have known at that point already who was the true evil mastermind. :'P. But in all fairness, there is a little more going on in the story. And well, these books know very well what kind of fantasy they're catering. There's a short guy, a little crafty and feisty, not too weak, and the very tall, very beautiful guy who everyone says is evil, but turns out he isn't so evil, he just has a tragic past, he also falls very hard for the protagonist and oops, maybe he does have some capacity for evil. I did like how the story subverted who's good and who's bad like three times. Otherwise, it's not really complex. But I'm kinda into the ending.
Alpha of Mortal Flesh (Darkmourn 3) (Ben Alderson): The third installment in the series, they've been getting more elaborate with each volume. So instead of the 2 and 3 half characters we had in the first one, there's actually a whole cast in here with motivations and backstories. That was nice. The writing style, however, is still as … trying as hard as in the beginning. It's not bad, mind you, I commend it for trying to use the full range of the English language, but there's a lot of words, making everything longer than needed, and sometimes their choice is really weird. Example: "My tongue broke free. It slithered from the confines of my mouth." But it's just a normal human tongue licking something eagerly yet still very normally! And, they're indie books, yeah, but I do wish all three books would have gone through another round of editing. The unnecessary repetitions and errors made me suffer a little. And while I got a little bored and impatient at the end I do like the story and what it's trying to do. Just that it was trying too hard in some aspects of the writing and not hard enough in others.
That's it for July! Apparently, August will be library month again. My TBR bookshelf disapproves but duh. Let's go and have fun. :P

Tag 15. 18.07.2023
Schlafmangel.
Day 15. July 15, 2023
Sleep deprivation. We got up at 3:00 AM, of course completely disoriented, and got into our pre-booked taxi. After a smooth check-in procedure, Wilson fell asleep at the gate, while Webster grabbed coffee and a footlong tuna sandwich from Subway. We then flew to Hong Kong on time and landed around 10:00 AM. We both slept on the plane and recharged for the day ahead. Dominik, Wilson's college friend from Delft and a native Hong Konger, picked us up from the airport and drove with us to Discovery Bay, a western district of Hong Kong.
We had a quick lunch and took a one-and-a-half-hour nap. After that, we took the ferry towards the main island of Hong Kong and walked along the waterfront. Dominic showed us several shopping malls and then took us to the mainland (a part of Hong Kong connected to the Chinese mainland) via Victoria Harbour. We had "fish balls" (fried fish paste in golf ball shapes) and chicken bites. Next, we took the subway to a Dai Pai Dong, where the food is prepared literally on the street. We ordered sweet and sour pork, fried pigeon, and beef with potatoes, and enjoyed our meal on a simple table, with a transparent trash bag serving as a tablecloth (a clever idea to avoid constant wiping of tables between guests).
Tired but still pushing on, we continued walking and looked at various counterfeit clothing items. We considered buying T&T each a Louis Vuitton handbag but decided against it. Maybe next time, girls. After a refreshing break at McDonald's, we took the ferry back to Discovery Bay and had a beer with Dominic's family. We'll be going to bed soon, hoping for a restful night after our travel odyssey. Sending lots of love from Hong Kong! Feel free to message us on WhatsApp if you're following along!

Greetings, my name is Mikhail but you can also call me Emrys
I am 18 and I go by He/Him pronouns.
I've been on tumblr eversince 2021, at which time I mostly posted and interacted with blogs about classical literature, Dostoevsky specificly! As such, you might find this a re-occuring interest of mine on this blog, coupled with whatever else I'm fixating on!
My interests tend to be all over the place, and as such, decided to divide them into categories:
History
Classical literature
Fantasy
Current specific interests
History;
This is a huge category as it ties into mostly all of my interests, especially the longer lasting ones. Relating to this category would be things such as:
• the 18th-19th century
(Fashion, historical events, culture, literature, art-history, music, shows related, movies related)
• the 80s/20th century
(Subcultures, punk-rock, heavy metal, sub-genres, historical events, fashion, (fantasy) literature at the time, shows related, movies related)
Classical Literature;
This is a big one! Reading classical literature has defined parts of me since I was 13 years old. Though it includes various stand-alone works here and there, the two I most interact with on here would be:
• Dostoevsky (more specificly, the brothers karamazov)
• Frankenstein
This is due to the fanbases being rather large, although there's some wonderful works on dorian gray, shakespeare, any russian literature, horror fiction (E.A.Poe), greek mythology, dracula, moby dick, etc.
I have never found this site lacking on my favorite books! And it always feels like there is space enough for your own contribution :)
Fantasy;
This one ties strongly into my 80s hyperfixations, as well as my interest in sci-fi and the steampunk genre. There is also a certain horror aspect to it that I like. The eldritch horror I contribute to my interest in the 19th century as well, since that genre developed during that time. Some main interests would be:
• tolkienverse (lord of the rings, the hobbit)
• dungeons & dragons (I'm planning a campaign)
• anything related such as fashion, events, oc's, diy
• sci-fi (typically fiction, like the mechanisms, doctor who or star wars)
• eldritch horror and mythical folklore
Current specific interests;
This list keeps updating, since I tend to hyperfocus on shows for weeks if not months, untill I find something else. Still, they always linger and re-occur, so I've decided to list the ones current. It'll be necessary to put them in an order from most to least interested;
The Mechanisms
The brothers karamazov
The odyssee, Homer (currently reading it)
Original Characters
Help so many interests are rotating right now-
On this blog, I tend to mostly reblog fanart, but in the future I'm hoping to post my own art more frequently!
I do not post any nsfw content, though I might reblog or post slightly suggestive content, if I find the artwork aestheticly appeasing. I'm ace so it's not a regular thing. I will also not tolerate any bigotry on my blog, for obvious reasons.
You can find me on insta under the same user name! DM's are usually open. I also can't promise to post regularly, but I will be trying my best!
Asks and art requests are open!!

Don’t take the listed “genres” too seriously. All those categories, sub-categories and sub-sub-categories seem quite redundant to me - imho, they’re just unnecessarily confusing … but, then again, I’m no music-nerd, after all.

those of a more metaphysical & occult subject matter
or those about more controversial topics, such as Extraterrestrials, so-called “conspiracy theories”, and the like (Problem!? Your loss. I don’t see why I shouldn’t look into these topics. It certainly is interesting, and it’s quite arrogant to assume we have it all figured out. Besides, no one says you have to believe anything you read, but it sure can’t hurt to approach things with a more open mind, and to just look where evidence leads us, when it presents itself.)

had a fucked up dream that some rats had tiny little babies and for some reason that was the only thing that mattered to me ever but they got lost!!!! in the big bang theory guys apartment!!! yes the big bang theory guys were there briefly even though the last time I actively watched that show was eight years ago!!!!
anyway me and some other person had to go on a whole ass odyssee to find all the little rat babies to the point that we were rowing across the open ocean after The Titanic II and dropping from the ceiling light into the galley to inquire if anyone had seen TINY RAT BABIES. very stressful wouldn't recommend 3/10

#yessss #this!!! #i can't believe we went from actualising to just remaking #imagine calling the Aenaeid a Roman retelling of the Odyssee... it is, but also it is most definetly not
Every time I see an author promoting their debut Greek mythology retelling on twitter I mourn the loss of like. To put in ineloquently. Just using these stories as inspiration for your own. Your story does not need to force itself to fit the shape of Orpheus and Eurydice it’s fine you can just allude to their story!! You can use their themes!! Nobody is going to arrest you for being allegorical instead of literal!! I might eat them alive at this point. It’s the only way.
