FRIENDS, 6x25 - "The One With The Proposal (Part 2)"
I thought that it mattered what I said or where I said it. Then I realized the only thing that matters is that you make me happier than I ever thought I could be. And if you’ll let me, I will spend the rest of my life trying to make you feel the same way.

Post 2x07 – Steve apologizes to Max. They become BFFs.
Post 2x07 – Steve gets payback on Lori for the Sandy costume

Post 2x16 – McRollins h/c

Post 3x15 – Chin and Kono's thoughts after seeing the bullet with their boss's/friend's name on it
Reacher (TV show) x-over: Post 3x20 – Reacher decides to go to Hawaii because why not? He ends up getting framed for murder again because that's just his luck. Five-0 gets the case. Steve sees Reacher and looks like he's seen a ghost. Steve believes that Reacher didn't do it. The Five-0 team thinks Steve isn't thinking straight. It's up to Steve, Reacher, and Catherine to prove Reacher's innocence.

Chin assures him there's no hard feelings and that he understands why he had to get Danny first (Danny was an American cop in a Colombian prison, while Chin was in America).
6x04 AU – Steve pulls up his shirt to prove the abs are accurate. See evidence below.
Post 6x19 – Steve tells Lou about his mom faking her death and his dad sending him and Mary away.

Post 6x25 – Lou and Chin realize that on all those nights that Steve would call Chin, Steve wasn't sleeping either. (Malia died at the same time that Steve found out his mother was still alive.)
Post 6x25 – Steve is struggling with his medical discharge from the Navy.
Kirk Emerson (the Marine with no legs from 4x20) hears about the plane crash-landing on the news. Maybe he makes some calls or something to see if Steve survived and somehow finds out about the transplant (idk how). Kirk makes a trip to Hawaii because knows what Steve is going through.
Or maybe Joe hears about it and helps Steve adjust to no longer being in the Navy.

______________________
Danny had a couple ribs broken, but he was unfazed by the pain, rushing around. Yet, here you were, slow blinking, your body feeling like it had been run over. Despite your perfect posture, your chest was caved in. Your stomach was lodged in the bottom of your throat. Your heart hadn’t been stable ever since that distress signal from the plane, the landing, and everything that happened after. It evened out slightly when McGarrett was confirmed to be at Tripler, and you all got the guys who caused this whole nightmare. But then it fell out of order again with the bad news of the extent of Steve’s injuries. The phrase “next few hours” sunk into your brain from the Doctor’s drawn face. You couldn’t get it out: ‘few hours, few hours, 180 minutes… give or take, and he will die.’ And in that moment, you knew what you had been keeping to yourself, what you’d been protecting yourself from, would be the very thing that would kill you.
All you had been doing was breathing in the exhales of everyone else who was loitering in the waiting room in silence. You were staring at the same line of wood grain on the floor, since Danny and Steve were admitted into surgery. God bless Danny Williams, his blood type, and his ability to recognize yet compartmentalize a wide range of emotions, as he offered up his liver to save Steve, without question. You in one way would be forever secretly indebted to the cynical short man. Danny was not only your dear friend, but the one who gave you the most tangible feeling of hopeful expectation you ever felt at that time. It was a specific type of hope against the loss that was much too close. The bottomless well that was formed from everything you never thought about. The loss of never being able to spend time with that annoying Lt. Commander again, to have the attention of the warrior man’s gaze, the chance to keep him looking at you.
A part of you always hated McGarrett, you hated him as soon as his large hand wrapped around yours for one moment. He kept moving along, evading danger and all, like nothing going on was a big deal, but you were stuck there. Stuck hating how his grip right then dragged you out of you head and let yourself breathe without any afterthought. You hated that he gave you this insidiously addicting comfort– some undefined yet distinguishable calmness washing over you, like fresh rain. You knew it'd be something you couldn’t afford to lose after knowing how it felt to have it in your life. Really though, you just hated what you did to yourself because he didn’t do anything to cause this and your damned speculations. You had wrapped yourself around every idea and inflection and smile and touch and turned it into another kind of thing you wanted to keep. Steven was too honorable and professional and hurt himself to ever consider crossing that line and ruining things. And you hated that fact. So, you hated McGarrett more, but never said it. You never spoke the truth that sat behind your eyes and ribs. You let it fester, like some bruised fruit rotting in the afternoon sun. But all this time, it wasn’t hate that actually grew at all.
The same doctor with the eyebrows in a perpetual frown, shuffled into the room, and like moths to a flame everyone immediately stood up and hovered around him: a lost prophet, you all waiting on his words to speak to the masses, to hear some glorious truth. And, there was.
It didn’t help you feel truly better, though. The uncovered truth, weighing down your heart, pulled and kept your ribs caved in. Kono obviously had something on her mind too, because you ran into her in the doorway of Steve’s room in Intensive Care.
“Kono! I didn’t know you were here. I’m sorry, I’ll come back–”
“Y/N, no worries,” she peacefully smiled, presence like flowing lavender in a field, “I already said what I needed to,” you nodded at her, “I take it you’re here to do the same,” she commented.
Kono’s stare, just like her shot, was direct. Her look was in no way judgmental, but immediately, you felt paper thin, like you already showed too much.
“I just wanted to see how he was doing,” you said, pushing down the swells of embarrassment.
Your feet were stuck. The faraway sight of McGarrett lying there, resembled more of an open casket than some vision of recovery. Maybe, reminders of death were hanging around too much because it was the hospital. Whatever. You realized you couldn't do this, especially not now, not with all this emotional mess. You felt your heart sink again. Kono watched you, her face slowly turning concerned. You heard your name, in the darkness of your shut eyes, head leaning against the wall just outside the room.
You opened your eyes again, a feeling rising in your throat, “I’m fine. I’m just processing everything, I guess. Thinking about things.”
“Don’t think, Y/N. Just say whatever’s in that big caring heart of yours, you can’t go wrong.”
You sighed, pessimistically shaking your head, “Oh, it can.”
In the silence, Kono softly spoke up again. The words hit you, straight through.
“I saw how you were at my wedding. How you two looked at each other when you thought no one was looking,” she tilted her head for emphasis, “And, how you both refused to dance with each other.”
“I didn’t refuse. I was never asked.”
“You could’ve asked Steve.” She countered. You scoffed.
“Yeah,” you mocked, crossing your arms to constrain the pain radiating out from your chest. You knew the fragments and open ends of what happened since.
“Just because things were one way doesn’t mean things stay that way forever. Who’s here right now?”
You stared at her.
“Sometimes you just have to believe in yourself like someone else believes in you,” Kono stated like some thoughtful therapist.
You swallowed the dryness in your throat, as she nudged you into the room. You slowly walked to Steve’s bedside, and turned back around for reassurance, but Kono was already gone.
You pulled a stray chair close to the bed, the weight of everything you’ve realized too much to stand. You narrowed your eyes at McGarrett, trying to build up that hatred, some form of cruelty to protect yourself. It didn’t work. You were defeated, desperate. So, you selfishly took the one chance you believed you had– your hand cautiously wandering to Steve’s.
Your fingers warily reached around the knuckles of his motionless hand, a clandestine tenderness falling over the room. That calmness you always sought now came with a price of knowing what love was for you. You took his larger palm in both of your hands, quietly exhaling your held breath and stray tears of gratitude and now regret.
“This… this isn’t easy for me to say out loud, especially to you. I hate to admit it, but Steve, I don’t know what I’d do without you. Seriously. I love you. And despite whatever happens and however you feel about me, I’ll still love you.”
Then you sat there in silence, tear stains drying, wondering who the warrior man was actually dreaming of and if your presence ever was potent enough to win out and linger. Who was he hoping to be beside him?
You didn’t leave Steve’s side, numbing the aches in your confessed heart, dodging the glances from the moseying nurses’ that questioned if you were McGarrett’s girlfriend or not. After some time, you had heard his breathing pattern change from the established melody that both of yours had melded into. Your tiredness had won out, though, resting there half-awake, as you leaned against your elbow on the edge of the bed, your other hand not letting go of Steve’s. You heard the deep timbred syllables of your name drift into your ears. Your eyes shot open.
“Hey,” you couldn’t hold back a smile, seeing Steve awake, “How are you doing?”
“What happened? Where’s Danny?”
“Danny’s doing fine. We got the guys who shot at you. You had surgery a few hours ago, you were in pretty bad shape when they brought you in here, especially your liver. Danny gave you a part of his.”
“Really?” You felt his thumb graze against your hand as he was thinking, you swallowed hard.
“I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing,” Steve noted.
You couldn’t help but laugh, “It’s a good thing, McGarrett. Everyone was really worried about you. Actually I should tell them you’re awake.”
You were trying to distance yourself from the feeling running up your arm to your heart. The warning from your older cousin ringing through your mind, ‘being too intense, only burns you’. You dropped Steve’s hand.
He cleared his throat, feeling the gaping hole of your lost grip, “How– How long have you been here?”
“I don’t know. I stayed because I know it’s better to wake up with someone beside you.” The sentence fell from your mouth and instantly implications sprouted from the pauses, “After surgery, I mean.”
Steve nodded and eyed you briefly, his eyes still adjusting to the ambient light, but piercing nonetheless.
“Thank you for being here. It was better… maybe even the best.” Steve added, eyebrows playful, his voice lightening up, but something was still holding it back.
You rolled your eyes, wondering what it was. But before you could figure it out, the nurse popped back into the room, dotingly tending to McGarrett since he was awake again.
______________________
You could hear the clarity of Danny Williams’ insults through the wooden door. You opened it to find the detective and the chief still in their respective hospital beds, still bickering whenever they had the opportunity.
“The TV, now this! Every day you prove yourself more of being a complete and utter ingrate.”
“Don’t get mad at me just cause the nurse likes me more, and got me the last fruit cup, okay?”
“You didn’t even offer to share!”
“You never share your food.”
“It’s the principle, Steven. To offer as a kind gesture. Like how I offered you my liver.”
“Jeeze, here we go again. I swear I’m going to refuse my anti-rejection meds, it’s not worth this.”
“Boys,” you warned, and the two men focused on you, “Please. It’s one more day, otherwise I’m not going to share these,” you paused and opened up the box of fresh malasadas.
“Aww, babe, you’re the sweetest,” Danny cooed, and you softly smiled, always appreciative of the Jersey man’s unfiltered emotional openness– unlike the guy next to him.
The guy that could apparently throw ‘love you’s around at the hospital last week with ease. You overheard when Steve nonchalantly said it to Grover before everyone left for Max’s party. It was fine, you knew the ohana cared about each other. But the whole time at Rumfire you just stewed on the fact you were the one there most of the time, and Steven never once had said it to you.
However, that same guy noticed your sweet smile at his friend’s words and how the sight poked a hole in his chest, jealousy dripping out.
“If it wasn’t for you checking in, I don’t think I would have stayed sane in this place,” Danny added.
“Stayed sane?” McGarrett taunted, “That’s implying, you haven’t ever lost it here, Daniel?”
Danny didn’t answer aside from suddenly reaching and pulling the curtain out between the two beds as a barrier. He knew better than to engage in this, his facial expressions saying plenty for you two to understand. You patted his arm in empathy, before handing him the entire box of desserts.
“No malasadas for me?” Steve incredulously asked as you went around to his side of the room.
“I warned you,” you shrugged, as you both heard Danny mumble through mouthfuls, “These are some of the best malasadas ever, I’m telling you.”
McGarrett made an over the top appalled face, sighing loudly, “Are you gonna offer a kind gesture and share, Danny?”
The detective snickered, “It’s like you’re trying to speak to me, but I don’t understand what you’re saying.”
You watched Steve’s face, he rolled his eyes at his unseen partner. Then his stare found yours, and in a split second it felt like there was this thing standing in the middle of the room, but you both didn’t want to ask what it was. McGarrett blinked again and it was gone. He nodded towards you, a smile now on the edge of his lips,
“Com’ere,” the tone of his voice was obviously more pleading than normal.
The TV’s noise faded into the background as you sat down right at the edge of the bed closest to his frame. Queued thoughts to speak were already there as a distraction. So, you leaned in closer. Steve shifted his weight slightly to settle his heart, realizing you were only whispering in his ear,
“Sometimes little things mean a lot. Offer the next fruit cup to Danny, understood?”
His eyes tried to fight your close stare, but they gave in and said fine. You were a rip current dragging him out to sea, no matter how hard he fought against it. Steve couldn’t stop looking at you, you not knowing how grateful he actually was to have the chance to. You felt his gaze lock to yours again and you felt too exposed– that truth never fully able to be hidden in how you saw him.
Suddenly, McGarrett turned away, confusion replacing your vulnerability while he intensely focused on two larger ‘get well’ bouquets of flowers on the nightstand beside him. He started digging through the various stems, on some sort of hunt it seemed. He pulled out some flowers, specific selections that happened to reflect random mentions of types and colours you liked. He eagerly handed them to you, eyes big and apprehensive, like some nervous late prom date. You were touched and confused as you silently took them in your hand. He leaned his body forward, towards your ear, wanting to prevent his partner’s potential intrusive commentary in what he was about to say.
“‘E hele me ka pu'olo’,” his low voice echoed, “You live up to that saying, always making everything better than it was before… By the way, I love you too.”
Steve didn’t move that far back, tilting his head only slightly to see your reaction. The proud warrior man saw the grin slowly spread across your face, replacing the surprise and anger after you realized what he had known for almost 2 weeks. His own lips curled up into a smile only you could cause.
Suddenly, you heard the curtain rings slide back with a breeze, Danny’s determined action, startling you both.
“Oh good, you’re both conscious. I thought something happened since it’s been so quiet.”
Danny’s eyes ricocheted between you two, before resting on the delicate bunch of flowers you were holding.
“What?” McGarrett gruffly asked.
Danny was still staring, observing and processing in seconds what he thought could be going on, but not saying it out loud. He raised his eyebrows, “Nothing... I uh, need the remote to change the channel.”
In a precise series of SEAL-like motions, McGarrett grabbed the TV remote from the drawer and threw it to him. Danny barely had enough time to react.
“There, enjoy the malasadas too, buddy,” Steve said calmly, before attentively pulling the privacy curtain back in place.
His hand precisely tucked a strand of hair behind your ear. His voice was soft, attentively delicate, like his palm holding the side of your face, “I would’ve said something sooner, but…” his eyes nudged in the direction of the man behind the curtain.
“Said ‘what’ sooner, Steven?” An amused nefarious East coast voice echoed back.
McGarrett rolled his eyes, not even bothered by his friend’s taunting.
“Just make out quietly, alright? Remember you’re not alone in this room.”
“Shut up and eat your food, Danny,” Steve ordered.
It was well established that Steve McGarrett wasn’t one to listen to anyone, let alone Danny Williams. In this case, though, he didn’t really have an argument against it. Steve raised his eyebrows, leaving the idea between you, as he sat with his dorky smile and ugly hospital gown. The pure happiness he had, washed over you-- then you realized it was because he was looking at you. Your chest didn’t feel heavy anymore. The calmness only he could create melded into something else and you took it, heart racing to the opportunity, as you swiftly captured the chief’s lips with your own.
You pulled back slightly, voice quiet, “I can’t believe you knew though, I’m still mad at you.”
“Good, keep being mad then,” his husky voice encouraged, Steve’s eyes shining with a rare carefree form, before he smirked into the next kiss you didn’t deny.
(Steve knew that being able to be with you, and this right now, was the only thing in the world that would make Danny’s bitching about his liver worth it.)

Ranking the Winx Club Finales
I recently finished my rewatch (and first watch of a season and a half) of Winx Club and wrote out my thoughts on all of it. However, to send off a year that was in experience a lot like watching this series - meaning, generally frustrating and downright disappointing whenever I got excited over a thing with a few highlights that actually stuck the landing - and to get out any remaining feelings over the series, I have decided to rank the finales from least to most favorite. I just have a lot of rage to spare over season 8′s finale and needed an excuse to do so. Plus, I am being thematic here goddammit! Here we go:
8. Season 8
Yeah, I really spoiled that already. To sum it up:
But let me elaborate. Like I already said, this finale enraged the living fuck out of me. I just cannot comprehend whatever possessed them to write a finale so, so... excruciatingly devastating... to a season that started out with a lot of promise and had some extremely solid decisions (except for the art style, which is just NOT IT). This finale is an absolute disaster in every way. First, there is a new plot point introduced mere minutes before the finale and it is never tied into the overall narrative of the season which doesn’t do it any favors, especially after the two halves of the season already have trouble connecting together into one overarching story. The reason they brought in the creatures from the Dark Dimension was to distract Valtor while Winx make their attempt at stealing the stars which could have very well been a role filled by Arken confronting Valtor in an opportunity to clear up all the muddy details around their partnership and bring together the two halves of the season. The Winx’ plan had potential that was completely wasted by their own interruption instead of seeing each girl (provided Layla was playing Icy, Stella - Darcy and Musa/Tecna - Stormy) doing her best to pretend to be the Trix she’s posing as to give the Trix the due role they should have had in this finale. Instead, we get an Icy that is a complete opposite of the character we’ve known her to be for seven seasons all for the sake of a wish she doesn’t even get fulfilled despite her decision to help. Her motivation is a direct contradiction to the original plan of the Trix and disrespects her character from all previous instances of her being on the show for absolutely no reason as she is left with nothing in the end and the whole backstory they invented for her out of nowhere and couldn’t fit in any way with anything previously known about her was in vain because it was never resolved. Winx essentially manage to defeat Valtor once they wish for their own power-up and are gifted powers they haven’t really earned only to be pronounced great heroes who even get their own constellation in the sky. Come again? There was no narrative tension in this episode, no big climax to resolve what is supposedly the biggest threat in the universe at the moment, and no actual emotional conclusion to the season. It can’t even be called a messy wrap when so many threads were left hanging in there. A true disaster on every front.
7. Season 6
Even if you count both 6x25 and 6x26 as the finale of season 6, the structure is still lacking big time. Acheron who is the main drive of the entire season is defeated before the end of 6x25 and the Trix who are the other main villains were also more or less neutralized at that point to leave absolutely no stakes for the last episode so they had to pull some bullshit to fill it. The Winx are useless for the entire episode, including Bloom whose battle with the Trix is an absolute joke. Like, they can’t even think of syncing their attacks so that she can’t protect herself from all three of them with her ridiculously small shield and Bloom couldn’t even bother to actually buy herself enough time to leave the Legendarium. The only saving grace of that fight is the little emotional moment it causes for Bloom but that was also not really set up at any point of the season so it was just out of the blue. Selina changing her affiliations permanently even after the imminent threat for her life was neutralized made about as much sense as her turning evil in the first place and the fact that they needed her to lock the Legendarium made everything 1000% shittier because of how convenient it was that she just decided to turn good again without any justification for her course of actions. That coupled with the lack of consequences for any of her actions (she nearly killed Flora for heaven’s sake and no one even brought that up?) plus the dreadful info dump monologue they gave her just brought the whole thing down. The wrap-up of the season was also underwhelming after they had an entire episode that was mainly free of villains in order to close the other storylines... but, of course, there were no other storylines. Pretty disastrous.
6. Season 7
Just like in season 6, Winx were pretty useless here as they really didn’t do all that much for the plot. Luckily, the fact that the Trix were brought in allowed for the villains to have a battle that was more intriguing and provided some action as for a finale. The other key elements of the season (fairy animals, Trix, wild magic, Kalshara and Brafilius and the time travel) were actually woven together pretty well to make for a pretty satisfying finish to a season that really lacked any solid plot. The mini worlds and the Tynix transformation did not have use in the last episode but that wasn’t too catastrophic. There was actually a pretty emotional moment between the fairy animals and Winx that would have been even better if their relationships had been better developed throughout the season... You’d really think that since fairy animals were the main point of the season and there was no solid plot to account for, they would have taken the time to pay attention to Winx bonding with their fairy animals but nah. I am still impressed with how touching their goodbye was given the fact that they didn’t really have all that much time to actually become close so bonus points for that. The very last scene is a little generic but what else to expect from a season that has sung all its songs already (thank god that there were no musical numbers in this because I have a feeling it would have been even worse)?
5. Season 5
Season 5 could at least pat itself on the back for dealing with the main villain of the season even if there were a couple iffy things about the whole deal. I’m taking away consistency points for a) the fact that the Throne was supposed to be activated with the seals from the Pillars of the Infinite Ocean, yet suddenly stealing a random Sirenix would do, b) Tritannus being defeated by simply having his trident taken away even though he literally grew in body mass implying that the power of the Emperor’s Throne had seeped inside of him (also confirmed by Mystery of the Abyss) and c) the mutants inexplicably turning back into people once Tritannus lost his powers even though they never turned back during his times of relapsing back into a human thanks to running out of pollution. His defeat was just ridiculously easy and Bloom got to do it even though Layla was the one with the personal connection to Tritannus and the one most directly impacted by his actions as her family fell prey to him. Instead of getting to shine in a season that focused heavily not just on her home world but on the environment from which her powers come, she got benched in favor of Bloom getting to do everything again with only mild assist from Layla’s cousin. They should have kept it in the family and left Layla and Nereus deal with Tritannus. The Trix were blasted out of the narrative extremely conveniently and the rest of Winx were saved twice by the mutants just turning their back on them instead of destroying them right then and there and then being turned back into their original form as well. There wasn’t the usual teamwork of the whole Winx unit which I am still salty about despite being sick of all the time they reached for convergence in that season. Theredor fighting alongside Winx (different from his own daughter) was a nice touch but the king and queen of Andros coming off as so helpless (and apparently the only people in the castle unless you admit that everyone else drowned) was frustrating. Where was the Andros army? We only got Tressa, Roy, four of Winx and a handful of mermaids. Is that the whole population of the Heart of All Oceans? Additionally, the finale left no time for any emotional resolution of the season’s events, especially considering the big deal that Daphne’s revival was. Instead they opted for a musical number at the end. Not the best form.
4. Season 3
Season 3 had a finale and then another finale. Granted, better than season 6 that had a finale and then filler but there was not a lot of glory to the ending of a story with such a strong opening and emotional moments that send you bursting into tears. The spell of the four elements was pretty decent in its first appearance in 3x25 but the way Valtor lost it all was a real let down after the climatic confrontations between him and the Winx girls throughout the rest of the season. His return was more or less a desperate last attempt at personal revenge against Winx as his goal was mostly out of reach at this point. The spell of the elements was brought down in both its use to create clones of Winx’ boyfriends and in its power as it was much easier to undo in its reappearance. The saving graces of this season’s finale are the couple emotional moments sprinkled through both 3x25 and 3x26. Bloom’s willingness to sacrifice herself for her friends and the world was the thread that the finale hangs on as she is mostly the one resolving the whole conflict which was a bit dissatisfying after the emotional damage Valtor inflicted on all of them directly or indirectly. There is a few moments left to recover from the emotional intensity of their battles against Valtor but nothing that really addresses the seriousness of the trauma they had to survive because of him. The Trix didn’t even get to have a last stand of their own in either of the last two episodes despite the position in which they started the season but that was more or less unnecessary anyway since we’d already seen they can’t hold their ground against Enchantix Winx even with a boost from Valtor. Overall, the finale is pretty weak, especially as a follow-up of the dynamic and strong experiences that the season put them all through. It was the first finale that was confined to a single episode (or rather two separate battles spanning over an episode to end the season) and there wasn’t enough tension building in the confined storyline an episode told.
3. Season 4
The season 4 finale is overall a solid conclusion that delivers both a final battle with the Wizards and enough time left to address all the other storylines left unfinished. The final battle was pretty short but there was enough intensity in the previous couple episodes to have covered the action demand that the season had already set up and it also provided the opportunity to have Winx come back together as a team after Layla split up. Not only that, but Nebula and Roxy also get to play their part while the Wizards make their last desperate attempt to regain the upper hand. It’s pretty climatic for something that length that also left about 15 minutes of the episode still to fill. Everything that had to do with the closure of the Earth fairies storyline was emotional beyond belief and gave more depth to all of them and Layla’s decision to join them. Winx had to face all of the separate responsibilities they have on their shoulders and find a way to balance them all so that they can pursue their dreams. There was a plethora of emotional moments and a deserved spotlight shined on Layla’s situation and how she’s dealing with it, plus the others’ feelings. It was a really touching finale and also an inspiring one to see Winx stand behind their dreams while still balancing their responsibilities. It seemed to achieve the initial goal of the season to have them adapting to the adult life they were shifting into.
2. Season 2
I’m gonna be honest, I had a very hard time deciding whether this would be number one or two because the season 2 finale had a lot more character moments that were very moving. It really corresponds to the season since it was more character driven than the first one and the finale suited that. However, ultimately I decided that it would take silver because of a couple minor things that bring it down. To get that out of the way, the second portal to Realix that led Winx there was imo a copout that destroyed pretty much all of the tension that the entire season spent building around the search for the Codex. It just felt so wrong for there to be another way to enter that dimension and to me it was a big disappointment. Especially since the key to activating the copy of the Codex was the color riddle that was a ridiculous panicked attempt on the writers’ part to show that Stella isn’t useless and has what to give the team but it only made her look worse in my eyes. Also, minor gripe for the fact that there wasn’t that much of a final battle since everything ended with a single convergence. Of course, there were several battles across the episode between different sides that made for good action and tension and there was magic involved in more ways than simply the convergence in order to defeat Darkar but it was still a bit of a letdown to never truly see him put his everything in battle. And the fact that Griffin and Faragonda held him off for as long as they did on their own actually hurt his credibility as a threat as well. But hey, on the plus side, remember when the teachers actually helped and did not leave the fate of the whole universe in the hands of 16-year-olds? Good times! The MegaTrix and her? their? battle with Darkar was epic. 20/10 on that concept alone, plus it really brought a great feeling of vindication after the number Darkar did on them and felt so satisfying even if they were also part of the villain team of the season. They were portrayed as three-dimensional and weren’t cast out of the narrative without care just because they were villains and that was actually probably the most solid moment that the Trix have ever had on the show (just minor gripe for the fact that they were supposed to be trapped in Realix when the dimension was sealed forever but they were later somehow brought out of there which was never explained). Sky’s speech to Bloom was actually a pretty emotional moment and the payoff from it felt earned and allowed for Bloom’s victory against the darkness to feel natural and in place. It was probably one of their best moments as a couple. Plus, the cute little interactions that we got during the celebration party to send off the season on its merry way made for a great finale. (And a shoutout to the Musa x Riven scenes both in 2x25 and 2x26 because that was some good shit and some cute shit and it was exactly what we deserved).
1. Season 1
Season 1 reigns supreme with its finale. There is just no other finale that can rise to the level of the first one that was built for about one third of the season so that the last episode could dive right into the action without wasting time on setup. This is also the only place where we truly and fully get to see each of the Winx and the Trix (well, minus Layla who hasn’t been introduced yet) showcase their powers but especially Bloom and Icy. It is the longest battle we have seen and it builds a lot of tension on top of what was already there to leave you on the edge of your seat. The exploration of magic in this episode makes it so iconic and such a great watch even on the 300th time. There isn’t really much more to say than simply “It is epic”. What makes it even better though is the fact that there is enough time left in the episode to wrap up everything else and not in a rushed way. The battleground is extended to the locations that have already suffered the previous battles to show the full extension of the action and to setup the wrap-up that comes at the end. They even find the time to let some of the minor characters have distinct and touching moments as well and thus expand the universe of Winx further than just the main characters. Speaking off, they all get their moments, too, and the Specialists aren’t left out of that (you will never catch me not fangirling over Sky and Riven fighting back to back). The finale also doesn’t forget about the overarching story about Bloom’s origin which is commendable considering the constant lack of consistency the show suffers. This is really the only finale that isn’t lacking in any of the departments and manages to provide a truly fascinating story that keeps you entertained and in suspense while at the same time does not discard the emotional payoff or the logical continuation of events. It just excels in every way.
Well, this is my analysis on the finales of Winx Club. What started out as a bitch fest actually left on on a positive and uplifting note to make for a great ending to a harsh year. Let’s see what beginnings 2021 will bring! ;)

When Cupid and Valentine work together
Or how they fell in love with an arrow through their liver.
Hi my friends, I'm here again with more McDanno observations.
This meta is linked to my previous observations from season 1 to 4 and you can find it here and here.
I'm gonna talk about season 5 and 6, and how I will present to you proofs that Danny is Steven's true love and how the Liver Transplant worked as the ultimate Cupid's arrow for these two.
Okay, let's start!
Say yes, say no
The first episode of season 5 begins with a young couple that find death, after the man asked the girl to marry him. A tragic marriage proposal, foreshadowing the failed attempt of Steve McGarrett to ask Cath to marry him.
At the same time the first episode talked about one stolen liver, that was about to be transplanted to an important attorney.
Steve got shot and Kamekona comes to visit, and Steve mentions that maybe next time he will get a mortal shot into a vital organ, as a joke, but is a prelude to season 6 finale.
Now, I want to talk 5x04. In this episode we met VALENTINE, an assassin, that had received a heart from a young, honest and kind man.
That transplant changed him into a new man, his words to Steve were very revealing. He said that kind of experience changed everything.
This is a very important foreshadow to the incoming lethal experience Steve will suffer in 6x25. Writers are pointing at the transplant like SOME VERY MEANINGFUL EXPERIENCE. THE TURNING POINT IN STEVEN AND DANNY LIVES.
But Also, naming that man with a transplant VALENTINE is the big subtext here. The liver transplant not just will change their lives for ever, but will bond them romantically. The sun and the moon are going to find each other for once! If you don't get this symbolism, go check my previous meta here.
Jumping to season 6, we will have so many episodes related to marriage, proposals and weddings. Is the season in which producers said STEVE WILL MEET THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE. Right?
In one of the episodes we have the visit of an old and well known retired police man who became a private detective. His POV narrates the story, and one of his quotes caught my attention, he says something like 'When Cupid makes a mistake, the consequences are disastrous."
Then, in the season we will have Catherine leaving, before Steve propose her to marry him. So, is not Catherine.
Which made me think this...
With Catherine leaving and breaking Steve's heart, and the oroginal McGarrett character at the beginning of season 7 saying that maybe she wasn't the one for him, gives us clues about CATHERINE NOT BEING STEVE'S TRUE LOVE. So she is not the one the producers were talking.
Then we have Lynn. Is a fresh girl, and Steve tries to drive her to the spot in the sea where his father used to bring him, but they ended going to where Lynn's grandfather always brought her. She looks perfect for Steve, but something is off, because things didn't worked in Saint Valentine, and then, we had 7x16 which was a real demonstration of who is Steve's priority (Danny) But I will talk about this later, in my next meta.
So, Lynn is not Steve's true love.
Then... Who is it?
Danny saved me
I want to point at the scene in Adam and Kono's wedding, the dance. Yes. Steve was dancing with Cath but then...
Subtex were telling us who will be Steve's true love. He left Cath and goes dance with Danny.
But there's this special episode in which Steve's aunt comes back with a boyfriend, and they decided to get married. Both of them with terminal cancer. And in the middle of their votes, the man says SHE SAVED ME. And how they met the love of their lives with death at their doors.
This is really meaningful and is talking again about the transplant, how Steve and Danny will bond romantically, through a deadly situation. Danny will save Steve, and they will fall in love, this time for real, without flirting games or doubts.
Steve starts to open his heart
The couple therapy in season 5 can be seen as something very hilarious, related to the famous couple crisis at their 5th anniversary. But is more than that. It really helped Steve to start to open his heart to Danny.
The mcdanno episode in which Steve tells Danny about his passion about playing the guitar, we saw him breaking a little fragile cat statue. Cat represents Steve, and how broken he will be after Cath will leave him.
But in season 6 we had a disastrous Saint Valentine, with couples fighting, including our romantic Danny, yelling Melissa was his priority, when she was not. First is Gracie and Charlie, and second? We know who is in the second place here. And he couldn't say the three words to her because he doesn't love her.
But this, i will talk about this.

In episode 6x08 Danny enters into the "flirting making Steve jealous" , this time using Hank.
Why? Because Steve has Lynn now, and Danny knows it.
So... This another scene...
Gif set credit @wildandwild 👇
Danny compared him to Hank, and that's it for Steve. Steve goes on into "SO YOU LIKE HIM? WATCH ME GO INTO A DATE WITH SOMEONE."
And Danny is pleased.
You don't care, Danny, because you like Hank. Why would you care about who am I dating? And he says SOMEBODY here, genderless word. Bi subtex.
So, after this, we have these tow boys playing around again...
Gif set credit @indiguus 👇
Both of these scenes in 6x09 and 6x10, the floating game started again. Immediately after Danny made Steve jealous of Hank because Steve started to date Lynn.
Lou is not amused hahahaaha.
To Conclude:
Season 5 spreads clues foreshadowing Steve's transplant in 6x25, but it also, together with season 6, showed Valentine and Cupid and "ROMANCE IS IN THE AIR, DANNY" to prepare the banquet for the McDanno final encounter through a liver.
Steve's true love is right in front of him, and the clues about who is it, had been shown clearly. Bullets and arrows through the heart!! In the whole season! And even Danny played archery in one episode. Time to put a love arrow in that liver, Danny.
Hope you like this meta, i will be back soon!

You knew I'd need to send you more Friends asks :) 1. How would you rank the six main characters from your most favorite to sixth favorite? I know this is really hard, but I'm feeling mean, so no ties allowed ;) 2. What are the 3-5 Friends episodes you'd take to a desert island to watch over and over? 3. Making you choose: Phoebe/Mike or Monica/Richard? Rachel/Joey or Phoebe/Joey? Monica/Rachel's friendship or Joey/Chandler's? Can't wait to read your answers!
Ahhhh, ranking them is super hard! Okay, let me try--
-Chandler
-Rachel
-Phoebe
-Monica
-Ross
-Joey
Favorite episodes:
-5x14, The One Where Everybody Finds Out
-2x7, The One Where Ross Finds Out
-5x23-24, The One in Vegas Parts 1&2
-6x25, The One with the Proposal Part 2
-2x14, The One with the Prom Video
*Bonus: 1x7, The One with the Blackout
THERE ARE SO MANY GOOD EPISODES. CHOOSING IS SO HARD. 😭
Choose:
-Phoebe/Mike or Monica/Richard
-Rachel/Joey or Phoebe/Joey (I love so many of their scenes!)
-Monica/Rachel or Chandler/Joey (another tough one, honestly. I think this one varies depending on my mood the day I’m asked lol)

6x25 is one of my favourite episodes. Greasy, pilot Steve in a white tank top. Danny trying not to freak out when Steve is shot and thinks he’s dead. Badass Danny going after the gunman and really wanting to shot him but doesn’t because he’s Danny. Danny being all f-k this take my liver. Stand by Me (which I bought on iTunes after the episode first aired). The Five-ohana gathering around in the waiting room and the hospital room. Chin and Grover talking about how great of a friend Steve is to them and how’s he always there for him. Putting Danny and Steve in the same room because they thought it would help with Danny’s recovery (lol). Everyone sending get well wishes to Steve and not Danny. The hospital room argument at the very end. It’s the only episode I “splurged” on and bought off iTunes after it aired lol

Hi!!! I think you’ve watched Hawaii five 0 but I might be wrong, but if you have, do you know if there’s any big underlying plot where it’s really hard to watch episodes out of order, or would it be ok to skip around and watch the whumpy episodes only? Also I like the Steve dude do you happen to know which episodes are best for his whump? Thanks and sorry to bother you!! -@set-phasers-to-whump (if u answer this could u tag me in it so I can find it please? Thanks!!)
Hi @set-phasers-to-whump!! Not a bother at all! Hawaii Five-0 is one of my favorite shows! I’d say your fine to go ahead and watch episodes out of order or to just watch the whumpy ones as long as you know who the characters are which I can give you here and there is one big plot line to know and I’ll go over that too.
So Hawaii Five-0 is about this small group of people who form an elite crimefighting taskforce as a branch of the HPD (Hawaiian Police Department). Lt. Commander Steve McGarrett is the star and the one tasked with forming the team. He’s a Navy SEAL who grew up in Hawaii and returns when his father is murdered. He then meets Detective Danny Williams who is in charge of his father’s case and makes him his partner. Danny is from New Jersey but he moved to Hawaii to be with his daughter whom his ex-wife took her there after the divorce. He’s loud and prickly and Steve’s recklessness drives him crazy. These two grow to be the very best of friends, family. They call each other babe and people joke that they’re married. It’s the best. Then they pick up Chin Ho Kelly. A Hawaiian native and Steve’s dad’s ex partner. Chin was accused of stealing from the HPD and is now an outcast in the police department but he’s great at the job. Finally we have Kono Kalakaua. Chin’s cousin and ex pro surfer she hurt her knee surfing and had to reinvent herself so she took up the family business. Kono is a major badass. You’ll love her.
In the recent seasons we’ve had some cast changes so I’ll go over them too. We have Kamekona who runs a shrimp truck business and also knows everything about the underground seedy side of Hawaii. Lou Grover, Chicago native and former HPD SWAT, who joins the 5-0 taskforce. Lt. Catherine Rollins is Steve’s flame/former flame (complicated) and is in the Navy. She shows up a lot. Adam Noshimuri, Kono’s ex-husband (long story) and former Yakuza member (another long story). Joe White is Steve’s mentor when he was in the SEALS. Lori Westin was a part of the team for a season (played by Lauren German who is Chloe Decker in Lucifer if you watch that). I loved her. Max Bergman the first medical examiner. Noelani is the current medical examiner. Jerry Ortega, conspiracy theorist and tech expert. And replacing Chin and Kono after the actors left the show we have Tani Rey and Junior Reigns. Tani got kicked out of the police academy and Junior is a young Navy Seal.
That was a lot of characters lol sorry. Okay so as for big story plots really the only thing to know is that a man named Wo Fat is behind Steve’s dad’s murder and he becomes the team’s big bad guy/nemesis.
As for Steve he gets whumped SO MUCH so you’re gonna have a good time lol. the glorious whumpgalore has made a list of Steve’s whumps up to 5x01 which you can view here: https://whumpgalore.tumblr.com/post/92445278809/hawaii-five-0-steve-mcgarrett-updated
Some other whumpy episodes are:
5x07 Ina Paha: SO GOOD!! So this is the 100th episode and Steve gets kidnapped, drugged, and tortured by Wo Fat.
5x13 La Po'ino: Steve in Danger with his SEAL mentor Joe White (another reoccurring character)
5x18 Pono Kaulike: more emotional than physical and has physical Danny whump. Basically Steve worries the whole time because Danny is trapped in a Colombian prison.
6x25 O Ke Ali'I Wale No Ka'u Makemake: BIG WHUMP for Steve here. Steve and Danny were undercover when Steve gets seriously wounded and Danny has to land a plane to save him and then there’s a ton of hospital scenes and Steve needs a liver so Danny donates part of his own. SO GOOD. They’re recovery is continued in 7x01
7x04: Steve kidnapped by a serial killer.
8x09: Steve and the team are exposed to a deadly disease
8x10: mainly Danno whump but the angsty Steve worry is so good. Danny gets shot while they’re trapped in quarantine after the events of 8x09
9x01: kidnapped and put into a deprivation tank
9x10 and 9x11: gunfight and Steve grieving the death of a loved one.
