Lucian - yes. always have and always will. he has one or two that he keeps by his pillows and the rest are just TANGLED in the blankets. you ain’t sitting on his mattress without suffocating at least one teddy bear with your ass 😭 - his favorite stuffy is a periwinkle bunny named lala :3 (but we all know his true favorite is kai 🤫)

Evelyn - why would she need a stuffed animal when she has her girlfriend to keep her warm? 🤭

Sam - YES. don’t let him fool you. he will hide them whenever someone comes to visit but TRUST me when i say he has a whole collection of kitty plushies. only cats tho. he loves cats.

Lucian - he doesn’t like it. HE LOVES IT. call him babe and he’s down for the count. if he’s fond of someone, he’ll probably refer to them as sweetheart/sweetie or honey/hun. but if we’re talking about his BOO……baby every name in the book. kai will not escape them. his go-to is definitely honey though :3

Evelyn - she likes being called pet names by women lmao. men DNI 😡😡. she only calls violet any sort of pet name and it’s usually “darling” or “dear.” her go-to is 100000%…..DARLING DEAR though bc she’s British!! (ok Edgar Allen Poe 🔥)

Sam - he’s on his KNEES for a pet name. while he doesn’t particularly refer to others with any sort of pet names in fear they won’t like it, he does abbreviate a lot of people’s names. for example: riley = rie, lucian = lu, evelyn = ev, etc. if he DOES call anyone a pet name it will be riley and only riley. he leans more toward “baby/babe” :3

Description: Quick on her feet, headstrong, and passionate in everything she does, Mambele is a well-known archeologist and treasure hunter( like a mobian version of Indiana Jones). On occasions, will give classes and conferences on her findings, whether it be on her latest treasure find, rediscovered, or newly discovered abandoned civilizations, or etc.

During a particular hunt, among strange ruins, no doubt left behind by the ancients, or at least a group in close association with them, Mambele scours the haunting crumbling city. After a day of searching around and coming up short, she heads back to her camp only to drop through the floor into what she first assumes is a cave. Only to discover a chamber of sorts. Cords and cables, advanced looking machinery lining the weathered walls. She sees a doorway on the opposite side of the room. That must be the entrance then. Long vines and weeds cover the doorway and dangling through cracks in the ceilings, covering numerous pods of sorts. She's not sure what is inside of them, but she does take into account that they were no longer working. No sounds or lights coming from any of the twenty or so pods. Well, none of them, but one. She takes a closer look, wiping away at least an inch worth of dust, to reveal what looked to be an egg. Resting her hand on the metal surface of the machine, she accidentally brushes her hand against a pad. A screen to her right comes on, showing what must be the vitals of whatever was in the egg. They were still alive?! After some quick thinking and good guesses, she manages to open the pod safely. Observing the egg, she hesitates to touch it. Unbelievable. Absolutely extraordinary. This one little egg somehow survived whatever calamity befell its people. She must be very careful. She cups her hands, ready to take the little miracle into her hands, but halts at the sound of a crack. In less than a couple minutes of being freed from its glass casing, whatever lay inside, for who knows how long, was already so eager to come out. She waits another minute, holding her breath for what fell like hours, before finally, a little snout pops out. The little creatures muzzle, biting at its egg with a single little tooth. She begins to hear squeaks and grunts come from the infant inside a it pulls its head back and reaches its hand through the hole. Bright red fur is the first feature she notices, along with a tiny clawed and spured hand. What sort of mobian is this? If it even is mobian. With an efforted cry, they finally tears their egg in two. Giving her a full view of what her mystery creature. Her eyes are wide, and her mouth is set in a thin line. She can't believe what she's seeing. There is no way. It's impossible. They've been extinct for centuries. And yet, here before her, a little round, bright red echidna puggle wiggles out from his egg. Half of it still sitting on his head. His eyes squinted up at her, showing off his beautiful violets. She can not believe it. Even as he smiles and squeaks for her attention, she can't believe it. What sort of technology could do this!? Preserve an egg for hundreds upon hundreds of years! She's broken from her thought as the puggle lets out a whine. He's looking right at her, wanting her attention and warmth. She hadn't noticed before, but the room was fairly cold. He shivers and looks at her with such sad little eyes. She snaps out of her shock and picks him up. A happy coo came from the little one as he's lifted against her. And did his best to snuggle as close as he could. Mambele carefully wraps her arms around him and observes as he finally gets comfortable. So many emotions and questions run rampant in her mind, but something inside of her manages to push it all down for now. Those could be dealt with later. She must focus on the now. Like, packing up and getting home as soon as possible. This puggle will no doubt be hungry soon, and she has nothing prepared at home for caring for a young one. She takes a breath and makes her way to her camp, to gather her things and leave.

She'd never planned on having a family. Far too busy with her work. But once Knux comes along, she becomes very dotting and overprotective of the puggle. And even with little to no knowledge on infants, she looks to books and motherly instinct to guide her in properly caring for and nurturing her new charge. Her new son.

Christmas at the Anderson residence was a tremendous event each year. Considering the owner of the home, Alfred Anderson was a successful entrepreneur who had connections everywhere in Woodlyn City, the party was huge and magnificently organized. Beautiful decorations hung where the eye could see, food delicacies from all across the world, and presents ranging from hundreds to thousands of dollars, the party was grand. Evelyn, however, hated every minute of it.

Considering she was Alfred’s niece who also lived at the Anderson residence, she was tied into the commotion just as much as he was. Many guests want to see and speak with her, discuss the financial situations of the company, and brag about their own successes. Evelyn could care less about all these things, of course, and would rather sleep in the attic than be bothered by such arrogant imbeciles. Nevertheless, she was forced to interact with them for the night.

“Ms. Anderson, have you thought of marriage yet?” An older woman, probably in her early forties, asked her politely. Although she had no intention of keeping the conversation very civil.

With a bit of nervous laughter, Evelyn ensured to keep her distance between the guest and herself. After all, she had no idea what kind of germs were on any of these people. “Marriage? No, ma’am. I’m only sixteen and going to school. I’d rather wait until I’m at least in my mid-twenties to get married!”

“Do you have someone in mind, at least?”

“…Why do you ask?”

“Well, I have a son who’s here at this party and would adore having you as his bride.” She chirped as if she hadn’t just put her innocent child up for grabs. It was almost sickening what people did for money. “A very kind boy, you’d love him, Ms. Anderson.”

Furrowing her eyebrows and turning away, Evelyn visibly showed her discontent with the conversation. “I’m sorry, I don’t get married to random guys I have never met. Have a good night.”

And with that, she stormed off. Perhaps it was rude, perhaps it was uncalled for, but in her heart, she understood what that lady was trying to pull. Evelyn hated it. Every year it seemed that she was offered up a man who had money, just because she was also wealthy. In reality, none of that mattered to her. All that mattered was that they were kind and clean.

Evelyn rushed into her room and locked the door tightly behind herself, letting out a sigh of relief once the eyes were off her. She set down the beverage she had in her hand on her vanity and pulled out her phone, hurriedly dialing a number. The device rang a few times but in the end, service was picked up.

“Hello?”

“Violet, are you doing anything tonight?”

On the other side of the phone was her girlfriend Violet, lying alone in bed and reading a romance novel while trying to fall asleep. “No, not at all…why? It’s Christmas Eve, so I figured you had that big party—!”

“I’m at that big party.”

“Oh! Are you having fun?”

“Not in the slightest, no. Could you come over?”

It didn’t seem like Evelyn understood that not everyone had an amazing wardrobe that could enter that kind of party. So whenever she asked this question, Violet couldn’t help but laugh to herself a little. There was no way in hell she’d be able to fit into a place like that. “Evelyn, I don’t have anything to wear…is everything alright?”

Thinking up a plan in mere seconds, Evelyn replied hurriedly. “I‘ll let you borrow one of my dresses, darling. I’ll sneak you in through the back and give you something to wear when you get here! Please, just please come over!”

Nothing in the world could possibly make her deny that voice. Violet sighed and sat up from bed, putting her glasses on before heading over to her dresser to put casual clothing on. “I’ll be over there in ten minutes. Please make sure you’ll be down there when I get there…”

“Thank you, darling. I love you.”

And with that, Violet’s head was in the clouds.

Once Evelyn succeeded in smuggling Violet in the back door, they remained in her room while searching for something she could wear. Purples, pinks, blues, greens, almost every shade of every color were presented before her as if they were nothing but simple complimentary items. Violet couldn’t help but feel out of place — She wasn’t used to such wealth being placed for her to choose between. Evelyn wasn’t much help either; All she wanted was to make Violet try all of them on and have a little dress show for her. And as she demanded, her girlfriend obeyed.

“Try this one on next!” Evelyn bubbled, setting out another one of her favorite dresses on the bed. “You’ll look gorgeous in it! Just gorgeous!”

“Evelyn…” she muttered, her face slightly reddened from the amount of times she nearly found herself half-naked in front of her.

Taking bubbly steps toward her nervous girlfriend, Evelyn assisted in pulling the zipper down from top to bottom. She hadn’t realized how quiet the room had gotten beforehand, feeling that the moment was more sensual than she believed it to be. Her pale skin was being revealed gradually with every passing second, Evelyn’s eyes tracing against her spine with a hue of blush dusting her face. Once the zipper reached the end of its path, she couldn’t help but notice the sleeves drooping onto her forearms rather than her shoulders. Now her face was brighter than ever.

Violet pulled down the top of the dress and at that point Evelyn couldn’t watch anymore, feeling as though she was invading her privacy by doing so. However, her heart continued to race within her chest even whenever she turned away.

“…Are you okay, Evelyn? You suddenly got really quiet.”

“H-Huh? O-Oh! No, I just got caught up in my thoughts, haha! Let’s try the next one, I think it’ll really suit you.”

Turning back to face her and hand over the dress, she tried her hardest to hide how red she was. It was no use. By the time Violet saw her, she couldn’t help but giggle. “You’re about as red as the dress I just tried on. Are you sure you’re alright?”

She nearly collapsed from embarrassment once she was called out so bluntly. “Y-Yes, I’m fine! I’m fine…” her voice drifted off once she caught sight of Violet’s eyes, instantly finding herself lost within them. That’s when her mouth started moving on its own. “Earlier tonight, a woman asked me if I would like to be married to someone when I’m older.”

With the sudden change of topics, Violet found herself more confused than anything. She laughed and slipped on the next dress, having Evelyn assist her with the lace on the back. Once she started tying it, Violet simply watched her through the reflection of the mirror. She looked so pretty whenever she was focused.

“And of course, she immediately brings up a man afterward who won many awards and has tons of money. Isn’t it just sickening how people always assume that women like men?” Evelyn scoffed, ensuring that the knot wasn’t too tight around her waist. Due to the fact that she was trying to get her mind off of things, she had completely overlooked how prominent her frame was while the fabric rested against her skin. Although, she was right. The dress looked fabulous on her. “If I had the choice to marry anyone in the world, it would be the woman standing right before me.”

Violet’s face grew hot as she revealed the entirety of the dress to her. It was what she said that really had her for a loop even if having the dress show off her body added onto it. “Out of everyone in the entire world? Evelyn, you’re beautiful! There’s no way that I could even shed light on you.”

Furrowing her eyebrows, the taller girl didn’t seem to like her implications. “Why must you say that? Why must you bring yourself down in such a way? Don’t you understand that I could not shed light on you? I have been born and raised in wealth. I have only seen things from above a regular person. I am so disconnected from the world that I must use you to guide me through it. Violet, you are more beautiful than me. Because you have had to work for where you are now and earn your spot. That makes you a hundred times prettier than me.”

For a while, all was still. It wasn’t until Violet reached her arms out to embrace Evelyn that everything suddenly seemed to come together. Instead of being nervous or fidgety with the physical affection, Evelyn calmly allowed it. With her body pressing against her own and their heat entwining with one another, all she could think about was the fact that she was so lucky to share such a bond.

After the embrace, both Evelyn and Violet went back downstairs hand-in-hand to enjoy the rest of the party to the fullest.

OCs for Odyssey Mystery Hour pt. 1

Long post but a list of OCs major and minor that appear in OHM because we NEED more older women in interesting roles than basic "housewife" or "bratty kid daughter."

Miss Marbles: Real name Vanessa, Miss Marbles is an art curator and novelist who came to Odyssey to write a new book. She took a job at Whit's End, and that's where her adventures begin. She is also Jason's love interest. She has brown skin with acne scars, curly hair, and known to be tall and plus-sized

Calypso: A computer programmer from Greece, she moved to Odyssey shortly before the Novacom incident to attend university. She currently works at the bank and runs a blog in her spare time. Calypso is described as having olive skin, dark hazel eyes and reddish-brown hair, and a curvy body type.

Regina: The daughter of Edwin Blackgaard and Vanessa's cousin. Following in her father's footsteps to become an actress, she has also written and directed for indie films. She has black hair and violet eyes, and tall and slender.

Sage: Formerly Robienne, she is Miss Marbles mother. A political science major, she assisted Tom during his run for mayor. Later she becomes part of the city council. She divorced Regis when Vanessa was two. She has deep brown skin, graying hair and brown eyes.

Tia Jones: A former employee for Novacom, one of her relatives were killed for attempting to speak out against the company. Filled with rage Tia plots revenge, but is it what she truly needs? She is a darker reflection of Katrina. She has icy blond hair and fair skin.

Luna Rodriguez: A college student who sometimes works at Whit s End for The summer. Luna is very shy and not good with people. She is described as average height, black hair and deeper olive toned skin. She owns a pet rabbit named Lavender.

Isabelle Gresley: Luna's friend who is very opinionated, Isabelle works at Whit's End sometimes too. Her major flaw is that she can be inconsiderate of other's feelings. She often dyes her hair green and wears gothic clothing, and has blue eyes.

Nadia: A Muslim girl who lives in Odyssey, Nadia always speaks her mind and isn't afraid to stand up, though she does have trouble with her temper. She has brown skin and wears head scarves in warm colors.

Pollyanna Schwartz: A Jewish girl who makes a living as a mime. She later joins Blackgaard's troupe. Pollyanna is very talkative outside her mime persona. She has brown hair and hazel eyes.

Cassandra Blackgaard: Edwin's wife and Regina's mother, Cassandra has a very dramatic personality and an odd sense of style. She helped expose her brother in law Regis. She had auburn hair and violet eyes.

Professor Janet: One of Jason's colleagues who sets up expeditions all around the world. Her actual goal was to restore artifacts and return them to their proper home, but she was kidnapped by enemies. Luckily the group rescued her. She has graying red hair and green eyes.

Mary Tillis: A wealthy woman likes to keep her past a secret. While initially aloof she slowly learns to open up. She later gives away much of her wealth to charity and becomes a Christian. She has graying hair and steely grey eyes.

Madison: Housewife who works as a businesswoman, finds herself very busy and stressed wanting to spend more time to herself. Madison is of Native American descent and have olive skin and brown hair and eyes.

Bethany: Postal worker, takes her job very seriously; she has blond hair and blue eyes

Rhonda: A relative of the Washingtons and an inventor. Sometimes her inventions don't always work out. She has medium brown skin and curly/wavy hair and always wears goggles.

Sarah Mae: Teacher at the school who works double in Connellsville. Friendly but also eccentric with her teaching methods. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

Chloe: Regina's ex girlfriend, she has a manipulative streak and tries to discredit Regina. Later she learns that nobody actually likes her and after a scary run in, decided to change her tune and become more honest. She and Regina don't make up. She had red hair and brown eyes.

Dorcas: Regina's crush, she has stage fright but wants to be a costume designer. She works at a boutique. She has whitish-hair and green eyes.

Brittany: Monty's partner at the agency, Brittany is a spitfire when it comes to solving crimes. Monty has to make sure she doesn't get in over her head! Brittany has brown hair and blue eyes.

Nailah: Nadia's sister, Nailah is a smooth talking laidback woman who owns the boutique Dorcas works at. Nailah has deep tone skin and wears head scarves in cool colors.
