For the past two weeks or so I had been LOSING MY MIND, worried sick as to what had become of Nyanchi! It’s been so damn hot that I feared the worst. I’m happy to see that someone’s been looking out for her. We hadn’t seen a new collar since around the last time we’d seen the Constant Gardener, not the movie but the grumpy old guy next door who was always working on his beautiful garden (he only acknowledged me once). She’d gone through 6 collars since I first started taking pictures of her 3 years ago when I first moved to Japan. She’s actually the first Japanese friend I made. I think dude next door passed away and his garden had been dying over the past several months. Recently I saw his wife was taking care of his garden, bringing it back to life. I’m wondering if she gave Nyanchi the new collar. I could be wrong, but in my story maker world, I’ve written her in as Nyanchi’s new friend who does it for her late husband because she knew that Nyanchi was his only other friend. So she tends to his garden and looks out for his little friend. Nyanchi was upset that we were gone for 3 days and gave us little meows to ask, “DAFUQ YOU BEEN?!?!” She was very talkative this morning.
