So Huckleberry Hound and Doggie Daddy are just coming out of a dive "up at the lake" when the scene is as follows:

And even if the bottom of the lake may have just been some sand and grasses, you couldn't find a more exciting experience anywhere! HUCKLEBERRY HOUND, producing a couple of clams found on the lake bottom during said dive: Especially when you've found no less than [opening the clam shells] THREE fresh water pearls during the dive! DOGGIE DADDY, stunned: How was I to know you could find fresh water pearls in these waters ... let alone how much they were worth on the market, to begin with? HUCKLEBERRY HOUND, trying to be modest about it: Well, after all, life can get to be rather interesting....

For the month of Chinese New Year, Nine Fresh (九鲜) came up with Ong Lai (Pineapple) Ai-Yu jelly series of desserts. Out of the three items, I picked the most expensive Pine-sperity Cup (寒天马蹄爆珠杯) at S$4.20. Comes with the mentioned pineapple ai-yu, grass jelly, water chestnut popping jelly, kantan jelly and taro balls. The chestnut popping jelly is a nice surprise with a crisp cube of water chestnut within the popping pearl. Their poster shows that it comes in a pastel pink colour but in my dessert, they are white though. :(

For mum, she wanted grass jelly so I got her the usual Grass Jelly Special (黑糖芦荟仙草冻) with optional sweetened red beans (S$2.90 + S$0.70) added. The standard toppings include aloe vera pearl jelly, black sugar jelly dice, milk ball and taro balls. Noticed that the yam balls are now much flatter than usual. Cost cutting, maybe?

YOGI BEAR, slightly dumbfounded in the circumstances: I didn't quite know it was you, Cindy!

CINDY BEAR: Has anybody ever mentioned that your style underwater is--so beautifully graceful?

YOGI BEAR: I'd have to say as much for your underwater style myself ... especially when you're just wearing yourself, more or less.

CINDY BEAR, giggling slightly: It's just how us bears are, Yogi!

[Unto the scene emergeth Boo-Boo, Yogi's Little Bruin Buddy, just coming from the water himself and equally satisfied for the experience]

BOO-BOO: I just couldn't get over the freshwater clams I found in the water just now ... and were they rather delectable!

CINDY BEAR: Somehow, Boo-Boo, that observation of yours had me remembering just how tasty freshwater clams can get on occasion--once you get the shell open without breaking your claws!

YOGI BEAR: And perhaps finding a freshwater pearl or two in the bargain!

BOO-BOO: Admittedly, Yogi and Cindy, none were found in the batch of clams I had. Yet then again, in finding clams underwater, I do make note of any pearls found.

YOGI BEAR: And how many pearls have we found in freshwater clams to date, my little bruin buddy?

BOO-BOO, being somewhat realistic: I think we lost count somewhere....
