Creamy Sage Polenta

Another deliciously comforting, and blissfully simple dish for a cold and wet Autumn day, this Creamy Sage Polenta makes both an easy main or a nice side to slowly stewed meat!
Ingredients (serves 2):
1/2 cup semi-skimmed milk
1 1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon coarse sea salt
3 fluffy sprigs Garden Sage 
3/4 cup polenta
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 cup crème fraîche or sour cream
In a large saucepan, combine milk, water and coarse sea salt.
Cut Garden Sage Leaves off the stalks, and add Sage stalks to the saucepan. Heat over a medium flame until simmering. Remove Sage stalks.
Finely chop Sage Leaves.
Add polenta all at once, energetically stirring with a whisk to prevent lumps from forming. Whisk constantly until mixture thickens. Once it has, whisk in butter. Finally, stir in chopped Sage and crème fraîche until completely melted and you have a beautifully smooth polenta.
Serve Creamy Sage Polenta hot, topped with anchovies or Tapenade, if you wish.

Gluten-free herb baked chicken with lemon vinaigrette dressing on a veggie salad. Can be made vegetarian by removing the chicken. Salad includes, kale, swish chard, corn, celery, carrots Brussel sprouts, green beans, fresh chickpeas and avocado.

mitchie spends a good 15% of her 20s in the line at the in n out in westwood village yeah. mostly with her program friends throughout undergraduate and graduate school but also others. also the whole foods in westwood village. she cried to cool about it boygenius in the parking garage there last spring for like 90 minutes and that's how she realized she might be pregnant. deeply normal stuff. also she and shane go back and forth re veganism but never truly stick to it so that occasionally rules out in n out for them. occasionally.

Grilled Corn in its Husk

This Grilled Corn in its Husk both gives it that beautiful smokiness that only a barbie can provide, whilst retaining its moisture, its grains all nicely plump and sweet! Absolutely delicious and a fantastic way to start the week! Happy Monday!
Ingredients (makes 1):
1 beautiful corn ear, unshucked
flavoured butter of your choice, to serve
Prepare barbecue: half an hour before grilling, arrange a layer of coals in the barbecue. Top with a few small branches of dry wood (applewood or fir give a good taste), and light.
Meanwhile, carefully peel of the husk of the corn, without going all the way through. Remove the silks, and re-wrap the corn in its husk tightly.
Place corn ear in a large dish, and cover with water. Place a weight onto it, to keep it submerged. This will prevent it from catching on fire and burning when you grill it! Allow to soak, 20 minutes.
Wait for the flames to die down, and place the corn in its husk on the grill over the red embers. Grill, about 5 minutes on each side, rurning it regularly, about 15 to 20 minutes in total.
Enjoy Grilled Corn in its Husk, slathered with Garden Herb Garlic Butter.
