Freeze

When liquids freeze, they become so cold that they turn solid.

Evaporation occurs during the freeze-thaw cycle resulting in dehydration of the product. This is termed freezer burn, the dry, grayish/brown spots on the surface of the food. It is often more noticeable on meats because they are frequently inadequately wrapped.

Author's Summary:

Steve Rogers: soldier, artist, foodie, friend, heart of the Avengers, and a guy whose past keeps creeping into his present and dictating his future. A series of stories about him and the people he has chosen to build his life around.

A comics-MCU mashup that is MCU-compliant through all of the Phase One movies then gets a little Brubakerish because the alternative was to get a lot Jossed.

All stories can be read independently of the others. You'll miss a few references but lose nothing of the plots.

Amazing series: the writing is fantastic, each of them with their own voices, and close narrative within the limits of the character's awareness. And snarky comments. International politics in realistic complexity, action, intrigue, violence, injury, recovery. And all the New York local color, subways, restaurants, food that poor people and ultra-rich people eat, Steve just really loves Peggy (and good food).  All-around great! canon divergence from 2013.

A happy accident that I scheduled it for July 4.

It took me way to long to start shipping Joule and Volta.

vegetable slop pile for my LASAGNAAASA!!!! was shocked to discover that the 32oz of crushed tomatoes i always have in my pantry had disappeared and been replaced with a can of sliced pineapple (i must have used it & forgotten to buy more & then my brain glossed over the pineapple as a similar size and shape) so imagine my shock!! i had to improvise with two little 8oz cans of pasta sauce & all the tomato paste i had in reserve and my one single whole tomato to get a semblance of a sauce situation. there’s also a whole bin of mushrooms in there & some really old impossible sausage i had in the freezer. despite all this it tastes amazing. of course
