Lying in bed right now thinking if rating Freeway 2: Confessions of a Trickbaby 3.5 stars instead of 3 stars was the right call:

#letterboxd #torn between this rating bc on one hand it doesn't hold a candle to the first movie #it feels nastier and pushes the sex and nudity but it feels like the violence is more tame #also neither the two leads have the same likability as reese witherspoon's heroine #not a terrible film by any means but y'know it's missing something #freeway 2

#currently on the worst road trip of my whole entire life! well. i don't want to jinx it lmao but #today i popped TWO TIRES at once in the middle of the Katy Freeway in Houston TX (the widest highway in the US; 26 lanes btw)#managed to make it over to the shoulder without DYING but then had to sit there for like an hour? and panic called a tow truck because duh #I know how to change a tire but I was – again – sitting on the shoulder of the widest freeway on the continent so #anyway I called a tow; a guy showed up. I assumed it was the tow! turned out it was not. but he helped me put on the spare and then was lik #“follow me to my shop I can do the tires for you” and I was like okay! 👍 but then the ACTUAL tow called me and I realized this was #just a random guy (very nice up to that point but then I got scared about following him to a secondary location?) and so I didn't lmao #I just kept driving and didn't follow him but the guy on the phone was then mad at me because I wasn't where I said I would be because #AGAIN – I thought the original guy WAS the tow company that I called? but anyway guy 2 on the phone was like “YOU OWE ME $200!!!!”#and I said for what? also how would I pay you? and he tried to get me to cash app him lmao?? I didn't. I hung up on him #he called me like 6 more times yelling at me until I finally just blocked his number 💀#however NOW at this point I'm driving on one spare tire and one rapidly-flattening second tire and I still have 3 hours left to get where #I was going for the night and to top it all off I'm in the middle of a city I've only been to one time before? so I manage to get to a hote #like a nice-ish one where I'm like “okay if I get stuck here this won't be the end of the world”#because keep in mind today is a national holiday so basically everything is closed!!!! btw!!!!!#but eventually I'm sitting there and it's literally 100F outside and I remember oh right lol I have car insurance which pays for a tow #(a normal one; not a random one I panic-found on google who calls me screaming at me to cash app him $200)#so anyway I call my insurance and the guy on the phone is very nice and is like “it's okay; we'll have someone to you in 45 min”#and I'm like okay. OKAY. 🙌💪 I am a strong independent woman who is figuring this out and no longer on the side of the highway #but instead in a nice calm neighborhood and all I have to do is wait 45 min and everything will be okay #one hour goes by. I call back. get redirected to the tow company that was dispatched. guy says oh! is my guy not there yet?#I say no. he says okay – I'll have him call you. hangs up.#okay. 20 more min go by. guy finally calls me. says “I'm 20-25 min away” at this point I've been waiting about an hour and a half #I say. okay? okay. 30 more minutes go by. I try to call the guy back. straight to voicemail. three more calls. three more no answers.#I call my insurance back. sit on hold for 15 min. eventually get put through to a different person who's like “okay let me check on him”#get put on hold. eventually she comes back and says “okay he says 15 minutes” I've been waiting over 2 hours at this point. I have to PEE #I just... burst into tears. on the phone with this poor random woman from Geico Insurance. I'm bawling my eyes out.#she was trying to get claim info from me but I'm crying so hard she's like “oh baby no. okay. okay. we can get that from you tomorrow.”#when you cry so hard that even the insurance company is like “you know what we're just going to let this one slide”#anyway guy eventually shows up. he's very nice even though I hate him a little for being so late. he drives me to an OPEN TIRE SHOP

if it floods here i will simply drown. no amount of phone calls from loved ones is going to convince me to leave behind my cool stuff. i’ll just die 😔

#this is a joke #it is only expected to be minor flooding #the relatives asking me if i want to stay with them is not 0 though #minor here meaning for a few hours i might not be able to drive on the low lying roads between me and my parents house #and the local river will be up to the underneath of the bridge for a day or 2.#it’s not gonna cause any damage to houses or anything #but the ‘are you sure’s and ‘maybe just to be safe’ is sweet #also it is actively too late to evacuate. the rain is already coming and i’d bet money that the freeway that floods because the city #refuses to clean the grates already has a cop car with his lights on parked there because there’s water running over the freeway #you can still cross but you have to go slow or you’ll skid #common sense should tell you that #but they always go park and put the lights on #for the people who cannot think like i think. must be hard for them

''oh yeah she looks just like [your dad]'' ??????????#does she???? i don't know????? turns out i don't know what my dad looks like either i guess?????#i've always coasted through life thinking that everyone else has family drama but not me...#and now there's 2 whammo! situations in this one week right here #wham sitch no. 1: danny uninvited me to his wedding bc he's mad that i said Bad Words on the phone to him while i was driving #(we were supposed to meet at an exit on the freeway so i could hand over some stuff he'd left at my mom's house. literally the only info #he gave me was: ''meet me at Ridgegate Parkway exit'' and it turned out there's FUCKING NOTHING at that exit. there wasn't #anywhere to even pull over. no parking lots no nothing. so i was talk-to-texting and i'd already been driving for 6 hours and I HAD #KEPT HIM UPDATED AS TO WHERE I WAS so there was no lack of information on my part. APPARENTLY i was supposed to psychically #intuit that i should have gone to the Park N Ride parking lot off the exit. i did not intuit this and therefore had no idea i should have #been looking for that. so i was upset and driving around in circles in rush hour traffic in Lone Tree CO where everyone drives $50K #SUVs and they drive them aggressively. Danny of course thinks this is MY fault because i didn't pick up the phone to call him and #ask for more information apparently. reminder: i was driving. 99% of my driving was on the mf freeway doing 80mph. i wasn't going #to open the phone then open my contacts and then scroll down to his name and then make a call. talk to text was already dumb and #dangerous to do but it was a lot easier to glance at the phone or make it read a text to me than it was to make a phone call and play #20 Questions about where the fuck i was supposed to meet him.)#y'know if he had just said ''hey meet me at the Mod Pizza by the IKEA'' that would have been fine!! literally all the info i needed!#but noOo he had to be the smartest smuggest person in the chat and give me only partial information)#wham sitch no. 2: apparently i have an older half sister who looks just like our shared father. huh.

#i reallyyyyyyyyyyy dont wanna jinx it !#but idk. this new job is just... so good already #just in terms of the atmosphere and culture #its govt again and the last department i worked at was like... nice. but also really not.#and i was wary for this role bc i assumed it would be more of the same. but its surreal how different and um smoother everything has gone #so far. lol. famous last words #IDK. IDK . IM FEELING GOOD. GIRLS WHEN THINGS ARE GOING TO BE OKAY.#also just not having to drive on the freeway into some shitty isolated town every day. being able 2 take the train with my partner every da #going into the heart of the city and working in a big beautiful skyscraper where things are more peaceful and kind #and im in walking distance to everything so i actually WANT to be social after work #IDK. IT FEELS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. PLEASE GOD DO NOT SAY SIKE !!!!!

i think one of the things that stopped me from realizing i was a system for a while is the fact that we don't really have "hard" breaks when the alter who's fronting changes (if/when that happens)

like the best analogy is that the 'front' is driving a car, but everyone else is still in the car and at least vaguely aware of what's going on. even if say ariadne isn't the one who "drove", she still knows we started at point A and ended at point B and can intuit what happened in between, possibly with someone else going "oh yeah we also stopped at the gas station" (1)

this also makes it tricky to tell who is fronting most of the time because like, most everyone is at least aware of what's going on, so we have to think about our thoughts (2) to try telling who's "driving" and that kind of meta-thinking is distracting and usually not worth actually doing lol

#1) 'gas station' being a metaphor for any side task #such as someone going 'nah we DID have lunch it was just a small one so maybe we should get a snack'#2) one example was yesterday when we were driving down the freeway and there were like three sea shanties in a row #and we skipped them all and thought 'eh i don't care much for sea shanties'#and then were like 'hm. well ariadne is clearly not the one fronting if that's a thought we had.'#system shit #<- keep forgetting that tag lmao
