information & resources for making subliminals/supraliminals :)
· Mind Over App (Apple): affirmations can be recorded on here, with or without music playing at the same time (I sometimes record them with theta waves), audios can be looped from 1-50 times -or- for around 50-ish minutes (sometimes, the looped audios stop around 50-ish minutes even if they're longer than 1 minute)
· Parrot app (Apple, Android): you can record affirmations (with or without music playing at the same time), play them on a loop, set a timer, etc.
· other device recorders: you can also just use an audio/voice recorder that might already be on your device (phone, tablet, computer, etc.), or you can find one to download — you might even be able to export/add the audio to Audacity or InShot
· Audacity audio editing software (Windows, macOS, Linux, & other Unix-like operating systems): you can record yourself saying affirmations on Audacity and edit it (volume, music, etc.), or you can use a text-to-speech program to create an affirmation audio and add that to Audacity and edit it
· InShot app (Apple, Android): you can use the InShot app to create videos with subliminals, you can add pictures/videos/words and record yourself saying affirmations, add music (you can extract audio/music from videos or upload music to the app), etc. — if you aren't able to add a text-to-speech file, you can either audio record the text-to-speech audio or screen record it and extract the audio from the video
· other video editing apps: CapCut, KineMaster, etc. and I'm also going to mention TikTok, bc you can literally make/upload a video to TikTok (and it can be to your drafts or privately), and it automatically loops by itself
· text-to-speech programs: TextMagic (online), Balabolka (computer download), SpeakLine (Mac) — you can write out affirmations on a text-to-speech website or app, adjust it (if possible), save it and use it that way, or edit it with music / into a video, etc. you can edit it with Audacity or InShot, etc.
· downloading music: OnlyMP3, YouTubeMP3Free, FreeMusicArchive

The handful of original tracks I composed for dt-z. Liner notes below.
The original tracks I composed for this game are considerably lower than my previous projects due to, of course, circumstances. However, thankfully, I didn’t have a specific audio vision in mind (save for me wanting to include shoegaze tracks) unlike sundark & angel care, so the royalty free tracks I found among the web helped a lot. Just like before, I used the technique of gluing together samples from freesound.org to make something new. In actuality, I composed a couple more tracks for this game, but they never made it to the final cut due to another track being more suitable than it because of the scene’s specifics.
Perhaps I could showcase the ending vocal tracks in a video? I’m definitely a fan of what I’ve gathered in freemusicarchive, and there were a bunch of tracks that were contenders for the end credits, but never made it.

Music
My choice of music is from the freemusicarchive website. The overall feel of my EXPERIMENTAL FILM was to give a mysterious and grandiose feeling. Because I think the theme of the universe is a very grandiose choice, and also the universe has a lot of secrets that human beings don't know, which is why human beings are so fascinated in exploring the universe. I found two more suitable music on the website and they are both from Jon Shuemaker's production. They are Movement VI: Pitch Black Total Darkness, and Movement VII: This is It.
I chose Movement VII: This is It as my soundtrack, I really like the vocals, it gives me a mysterious and sacrosanct feeling, the gradual progression to the end of the track and the calmness, which suits my theme very well. The overall feeling of this music is like a process of the universe from birth to death, with ups and downs. I also fine-tuned the editing of my experimental film according to the overall feeling of the music. Another reason was that the length of the music was more in line with the length of my film than Movement VI: Pitch Black Total Darkness, because I wanted to have a coherent soundtrack from beginning to end of the film.

Substitute Music audio:
Due to copyright reasons, i had to substitute and find another audio to use for my animation, I tried to go with a smilar genre to my previous audio, and stumbled upon FMA(FreeMusicArchive) which provides free audio to use, without having to worry about copyright issues. I found this track called Despair by Goratie, and i thought it really went well with my speech topic, with the audio complimenting Helen Clarks speech on Cannabis legalisation...

Sorry to jump in but here are some more things that can help a bunch for wanting to start in editing or anything to do with film/tv/content creation.
If you are looking to get into screenwriting or need helping writing a script, Celtx is a good place to start used it in my film program
There is a limited free version and then a more robust one for a price. I also have some worksheets from my time in film school I can send if anyone is interested in screenwriting.
External hard drives are your best friend. Save backups in every place you can, just in case something goes down. Email drafts to yourself even and save backups of your projects everywhere. Lacie drives are used in professional filming and a little pricey but worth it. Amazon offers for around 120-160 for the 1TB drive (I'm still using my 1TB drive despite going to film school in 2018) You can also find these at Best Buy as well.
Here are links to royalty-free music sfx images and video places online

To echo some points as well:
Resolve is free video editing software. It is also the industry standard for colour correction and packaging. Also, a tip: you don't have to render out huge files. ProRes 444 is nice, but Proxy and 422HQ can work well. Same thing with H264. Depending on your need for your video outputs, a huge file is not always necessary.
Phone cameras are being used more often than not to shoot some amazing short films and phones are even used in some professionally done tv and films. Get practice using a phone camera first before getting that expensive camera.
Some tips
The millennial pause is actually super helpful while filming. Pausing before you start speaking and acting things out is used on film sets. on the call of action (be it background action, or action for the main cast) there is a slight pause before go so that if something happens before or after a take it can still be used.
Do as many takes of something as you need. Its better to have more footage that covers everything than not enough.
Write down what takes you like the best so they are easy to find in editing.
Sound and Picture are recorded separately on professional sets. This always isn't needed, though. Start with camera audio first. If you do want to record separate sounds, start the sound recording first, then the camera. Say speeding to indicate sound is recording, and rolling to indicate the camera is filming. Use a clapperboard or your hands to make a sync point that is picked up by both. If you are clapping in the scene a clapperboard is better but do what you got to do.
You can participate in many different film and screenwriting festivals rather than the big ones like TIFF and CANNS.
You can find film festivals for every genre, for Indigenous filmmakers, for LGBTQA+, about nature, experimental, music videos, and dance. Everything. Some are free some cost money, you can set how much you want to spend when looking up these festivals. The earlier you submit to some the cheaper they are.
I am not a professional video editor or filmmaker and I treat video essays as a hobby because I know that if I turn it into a job, I'll hate it. And I'd rather love doing it.
I would also love to see more Native American / First Nations / Indigenous people making content on Youtube, tiktok, etc and any help or advice that I can provide, I will.
If you like to analyze and talk about media and would need footage, OBS is free to use and REALLY useful. https://obsproject.com/
If you need video editing software, Da Vinci Resolve is free to use and tutorials exist online: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve
If you want a simpler and easy to use free video editor, Clip Champ suffices nicely: https://clipchamp.com/en/
You can get a decent microphone for like $20 on Amazon. I use this one:
You can find ring lights and the usual "video content creating kits" in pretty much any electronics department in grocery stores, department stores, Best Buy, etc.
And while you ---CAN--- save up some money for a camera, more often than not your phone will suffice.
Most important of all, your early works may be rough and choppy, but the important thing is to just BEGIN. Start making things. Watch your work evolve as you keep creating, keep talking, and putting yourself and your work out there.
Go forth and be glorious. Colonizers don't want us at the table. Bring your chair and sit there anyways. Take up space. DEMAND your voice be heard. Do it for yourself, do it because you love your people and your community.

Kongresová knižnica vo Washington D.C., spustila online nástroj, ktorým umožňuje bezplatný prístup k svojmu obrovskému archívu hudobných a hlasových záznamov. Nástroj s názvom Citizen DJ umožní prístup k zvukovým záznamom zo zbierky knižnice, z ktorých sú najstaršie datované spred viac ako 100 rokov. Vyskúšať ich možno prostredníctvom farebne rozdeleného rozhrania a pomocou online sekvencera sprevádzaného zvukmi klasických bicích nástrojov. . #CitizenDJ #archiv #archive #music #usa #hiphop #sample #free #BrianFoo #PublicEnemy #freemusicarchive #thomasdexter #washingtondc #prague #bratislava #banskabystrica #poprad #kosice #producent #hudobnik (at Prague, Czech Republic) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAAr1Den8gX/?igshid=q8a4udate28i

so like, this might be obvious or it might not be obvious at all but i need to obsessively deep dive into some piece of media (usually music) at least once a month or i descend into madness like im a morally gray anime character so here’s whats going on with me this november:
last night i was listening to my spotify discover weekly and my discover weekly always sucks ass because it always gives me stuff i already know or stuff i could easily find myself and thats probably largely because i dont use it very regularly but i also just think its recommendation algorithm plays it too safe for my tastes BUT on occasion it’ll give me something interesting and this week it gave me a song called I Should Stop Eating Stones by ooTi Skulf and i liked the tune so i listened to a few more songs off the same album and i tried googling to see if this artist had like a bandcamp or something where i could find some lyrics and then i spent like the next hour googling frantically because like... i could not find ANYTHING about this person
WAIT SIDENOTE i think the reason spotify gave me this song is because it appears to have been used in a popular playlist a user made called “songs for when i'm eating gemstones in the museum gift shop“ and from what i’ve heard, part of spotify’s recommendation algorithm is based off what similar users to you listen to, so i guess users like me must have listened to that playlist before
but anyway NO MATTER how much i googled ALL i could find was this person’s one album on deezer, and spotify and all that, and like no marketing copy or even a basic description and i was like WHAT is going ON because ive seen plenty of musicians with very little information about em but they were all like, random people on bandcamp or soundcloud or like fuckin. freemusicarchive dot org LIKE id never seen anything like that for someone who appears to have been signed to a label (albeit it seems to be a small one, called White Label Music/WLM?) and put on all the usual streaming platforms and i was BAFFLED like i went to bed like who is this person.....why can i not google them
BUT THIS MORNING i googled ooTi Skulf AGAIN and i finally found their social media stuff like the youtube channels and the twitter and myspace pages and all that and with all this new information i have deduced that this is a very small (less than 100 subs on youtube) french musician and i think.......that is why google refused to show me anything about her until i googled it enough......google hates ME specifically and never wants to show me what im actually searching for until ive searched for like 2 hours, especially if its in another language ive noticed.............moral of the story: i shoulda used duckduckgo instead hkjfdslagkfdlskdfsd
other moral of the story: @ small musicians: if you dont have a label or if your label lets you or theres no other barriers stopping you PLEASE put ur stuff on bandcamp. i would like to buy ur tunes
anyway i like this song:
youtube
its like that sorta experimental art rock type stuff, this specific track reminds me a little of Ruth White’s Flowers of Evil album with some of the vocal effects
#under the cut cause i type too much and im trying to be more courteous about my long ass posts nfskdlfjsds#anyway spotify doesnt understand me in the slightest but sometimes it'll give me a hit#sometimes#youtube is much better for finding music im interested in ive found#spotify is like here is a new thing youve never seen before! and its an op from a super popular anime from 2010 and im like#i HAVE heard that WE ALL HAVE you know im a warrior cat fan between the ages of 18-25 you should understand that i know 2010 anime#youtube gets me though they give me full albums from random countries and genres and decades#THATS what i want. i want stuff ive never even THOUGHT to look up hjjfeskajsdkfs
