Know what I'd like? For both Zaynie and Liam to talk about the MUSIC. Their personal influences. How they write. When they write. What their songs are about. Honestly. I don't give a flying fuck about "girlfriends" and "baby mamas" and "babies" and ANY of that. Can we, the loyal loving fans, ever get some actual honesty? And, I dunno, untainted music related content? But if they also ever feel like dropping the fact that they, Ziam, live together and influence one another, that would be fine too

This is the dream nonnie. I could only believe it if it happened in a live setting, like a concert. But the Clash print interview is suprisingly music focused. Of course, talking about the album is useless if Zayn doesn’t release it and can’t tour it.

now that you say it makes sense is promo mostly for her and tbh this is what it sucks bc I’m happy for Liam but she is another of simon squad using him :/ and idk but at least with Zayn and Taylor Taylor was popular and could bring Zayn name out there to the GP more but Rita isn’t really known outside of the UK . Do you think the collab can be a big hit anyway or no?

I’m counting on hit, despite people always sleeping on Liam’s mad talent and the fact he’s a full-fledged entertainer.

It’s a popular series (for whatever mystifying reason), so that helps, too. My best guess is that the people behind it hope for $omething $imilar to the Z/T collab. It seems that the dude behind it has written a bunch of singles for known names★, too. (From what I’ve heard, “Havana” has done well this year?) I only know for sure that we’re covered on vocals (Liam, pls) and promo/exposure.

I don’t know how well Rita does around the globe, but didn’t she have some song with Iggy Azalea at one point? Almost sure I’ve seen her stuff on those That’s What I Call collections, so I’m guessing she’s not unknown. Better than other people I could think for this collab. *snorts*

But it seems to me that this is a ‘Rita + Liam’ and not 'Liam + Rita’ sort of thing. Her connections to the franchise are more immediate than Liam’s, at least. Her strong connections to old Si are a downer, but has Liam been anything other than abused to promote XF and associates? From the very beginning?

All we can do is wait on crazy recognition for Liam’s talent. It’s about time.

Haha! Don’t let my cynical arse make you worry about that. I was just wondering why are they suddenly buddies and seeing together in multiple occasions in a short period of time. I’ve counted so far:

that radio interview with Cherly’s BFF

that cringeworthy stuff for Liam’s performance (also with Cherly’s BFF)

those SC/IG stories/whatever listening to music/with Liam’s team

that moment/interview/whatever on EMA

It’s promo for her (of course) and she’s just another pawn used to further the whole “happy family” fairy tale, but there’s gotta be something in it for her. And we know there’s nothing too messy in the 1D world (hello adult flirting and pursuing a kid), so it’s always a possibility.

Just for the giggles and shit, I googled her + “new album” and—lo and behold—it seems that she’s releasing her album next year. In fact, we had a bunch of articles from the usual suspects, Dan’s minions putting out two (that I’ve seen) of them recently:

Nothing says it can’t be the regular abuse of the boys to promote XF/people linked to it. We might find out she’s featured in one of Liam’s songs (because it’s SUCH a small industry and it’s a COINCIDENCE she links back to Simon and minions) and nothing else. But at this point? Nothing can surprise me.

There’s no point in worrying, either; if it’s already decided, it’ll happen. All we can do is hope for the best while expecting the worst. (And hope karma will deal with the lot of them.) She wouldn’t be the first or the last TBH.

Listen... IDC what you think or believe: a partner that tries to hijack your (or someone else’s) moment is never the one. You don’t go dressed as trash bag to a wedding because you DON’T want to attract attention by NOT blending with the crowd and being the different one™. You don’t promote yourself when your partner is doing their thing. You don’t try to shift focus onto yourself. You just don’t.

Be careful about those who don’t celebrate your success unless they have ulterior motives. That’s all I have to say. It’s advice for life.

I don’t really have anything to add, except that there’s not a single thing that’s happening now that any of couldn’t have/haven’t predicted. Private people going VERY public about their lives; spike in SM (to show said private life) around new releases; being supportive of “significant one” that can’t repay the kindness, etc. There’s literally nothing new. At this point you might as well throw your brain out if repetition of the very same pattern haven’t gotten through your skull.

Zedd seems to really be showing Liam off and showering Liam with alot of attention . It's nice to see Liam so happy, smiling from ear to ear after all the sad pictures with Che**l.

It’s the difference in working with somebody willingly and unwillingly.

And to be fair, 1D collabs have been about playing up those friendships, too.
