Okay, soo I've been a big fan of the crossover pairing of Antwan from Free guy and Nigel Billingsley from the newer Jumanji films and the fact that they don't really have a ship name yet has been bugging me for a while now. I've been thinking about potential name smushes for them, but if any one can come up with a good one when the last names Hovachelik and Billingsley are involved I'd be kind of amazed 😅 and calling them angel 1) doesn't fit in my head and 2) feels too generic of a word for a ship name. I may have had a revelation the other day, though, when I thought of calling them NPCEO. Thoughts?

These characters are played respectively by Rhys Darby and Taika Waititi. These characters have nothing in common. They're not even from the same movies ! But damn I ship these two with my whole heart !

One cannot understate the importance of the spiny mammal with the freakish blue spines and even more freakish speed that bust onto the scene when Sega introduced the Genesis in the early 90s. Before Sonic, a certain company whose mascot was a certain plumber ruled the home video game market. Now we had a contest!

In fact, Sonic’s popularity was so huge that in 1993 not one, but two animated series were created by DIC Animation! The first, The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, made the weekday syndicated circuit.

The series follows Sonic (voiced by Jaleel White, who played Steve Urkel in Family Matters) and his best friend (introduced in the second Sonic game) Miles Prower (a play on “Miles per Hour”) AKA “Tails” (so nicknamed due to the fact that he has 2 tails that he can spin like a propeller, enabling him to fly) as they defend the planet Mobius from...

The plots (and gags) are straight out of Looney Toons. The bad guys are complete idiots who are easily thwarted by Sonic and Tails.

This series was definitely designed with the under-10 crowd in mind. As I was easily double that in ‘93, I wasn’t overly impressed with the series. However, if you would like to watch the series, it’s available on Netflix.

If I was less than thrilled at Sonic’s impression of Bugs Bunny, what DIC produced for the Saturday morning crowd was the exact opposite!

Sonic the Hedgehog sets a vastly different tone than Adventures does, making it in my opinion vastly superior to its weekday version.

Jaleel White again voices Sonic (just to add to the confusion), but this time he’s one of the inner circle of a group of freedom fighting animals attempting to free Mobius from...

...Dr. Ivo Robotnik (voiced by Jim Cummings, whose voice credits are too numerous to list but is the voice of Winnie the Pooh (and Tigger too!) since the late 90s), who has transformed most of the world’s inhabitants into cyborgs enslaved to him. Alongside his robotic army, Robotnik has transformed Mobius into a dystopian hellscape. Unlike the weekday kiddie fare in which Robotnik was trying to take over Mobius, he has actually succeeded and is the evil overlord of the world! Yes, this version of Robotnik is actually menacing, as opposed to a fat, bald Yosemite Sam in the weekday version.

Assisting Sonic in his fight are...

Princess Sally Acorn (voiced by Kath Soucie, who voiced Phil and Lil in Rugrats), the leader of the Resistance and the closest thing to a love interest Saturday Morning fare could show.

Antoine Depardieu (voiced by Rob Paulsen, who voiced Yakko Warner in Animaniacs and Raphael in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series), the incompetent comic relief who speaks in a stereotypically bad French accent and more than a little jealous of the attention Sonic gets from Sally.

Bunnie Rabbot (voiced by Christine Cavanaugh, whose many voice credits include Dexter in Dexter’s Laboratory and Chuckie in Rugrats), who is full of Southern charm and sass. She also had a run-in with Robotnik somewhere in her past, which resulted in her getting bionic legs and a bionic arm.

And of course you can’t have Sonic without Tails (voiced by Bradley Pierce, who voiced Chip in the animated Beauty and the Beast and played Peter in Jumanji) since they shared a video game together.

There is a definite edge, a sense of danger, and a small bit of body horror (when you consider there are living beings trapped within some of those robotic shells) to the series. If it was made with an older audience in mind, things could’ve been taken a bit farther, but it was the early 90s and Gargoyles and X-Men were still a few years away (and Batman: the Animated Series was still a new concept)

It’s going to take me about five hundred thousand years to have finished enough of this fucking behemoth of an obscure rarepair story to be ready to actually post Chapter One, but when I do, I sure hope you all enjoy it as much as I’m enjoying letting it consume my every waking moment in writing it.

A solitary call of birdsong shone through the quiet air. Did you know, thought Nigel, that the resplendent quetzal builds its nest 200 feet in the air? Why, as a matter of fact, he did, he thought. Indeed, Nigel knew many interesting facts about nature, a useful pocket of knowledge to fill for a field guide, of course. It was good to fill the idle time between this crisis or that, or the arrival of a new adventuring party, with reading up on topics relevant to his vocation.

okay, so here's the thing, I did have a little dilemma on whether to go with Modern world or Real world.

Modern World where the Black clover kingdom is just history, and they still have their powers except that there's technology now. OR Real World where magic and Clover Kingdom don't exist?

But I decided to go with the Real world, because I find it complicated to merge having magic in our real world. It would make for a long ass story instead of a short fic. And I do not do stories for my requests, aha! I like creating short fics so that the ideas are fresh and I don't get bored as well.

TW: Real World mixed universe

It was like some weird Jumanji dream that happened. But suddenly, you opened your eyes and a few strangers were staring at you.

You screamed at the top of your lungs and all 6 of them jumped in their boots.

"Whoa whoa," The raven haired man raised his hands in innocence, "We mean no harm, lady."

Wait a minute. What a familiar voice. You looked at all of them and blinked.

"Yami, Charmy, Vanessa, Noelle, Asta, Liebe?!"

"You know us?!" Asta's eyes widened in shock.

You blinked at them and pinched yourself real hard. It really stung. You're not in a dream. The 6 of them stood before you, in flesh.

"You're... in an anime..."

"What's an Anime?" Vanessa raised her eyebrows at you.

You quickly opened your laptop and turned on the Black Clover anime and explained as the show played on.

"Is this some kind of magic..?" Asta's eyes sparkled at the screen.

"So.. We're in some kind of cartoon?" Yami asked skeptically as he watched the part where he appeared before Asta and his presence was so strong that the mana birds all flew away. "They seriously drew me like that?!"

"Why do I appear so late into the anime?" Vanessa complained, "And I do not wear my bra and panties ALL the time~"

"So..." Liebe finally spoke after skimming through the anime for awhile, "can someone tell me so why is the 6 of us here? We were just in our base and suddenly the world was warped and we all appeared here."

"uh.." you smiled sheepishly, "I think I sort of performed some kind of black magic trick on the anime hoping that you guys would 'come to life' ..."

"And why would you do that?" Noelle had her arms akimbo, frowning at you, "are you an enemy or something??"

"No!" you quickly lifted your hands in innocence, "I was just... bored I guess?"

The room fell into silence.

"i'm sorry okay? I just thought it was a funny thing I read online, I didn't expected it to work. I'll try to do the spell again today at midnight and it will probably send you back."

Charmy's stomach growled, "Charmy is hungry la~"

She tried to open her grimoire but she couldn't. "I can't use my powers!!"

The rest of them tried the same too. All of them couldn't use their grimoires. In the real world, their grimoires were nothing but books with words.

"I can't merge with Asta too!" Liebe exclaimed as he and Asta exchanged looks.

"Does it mean I free?" a sly grin appeared on Liebe's face.

"Well, you'll probably scare the shit out of everyone if you went out looking like this?" you raised a brow at him, then you had to explain to him that devils are not seen in the real world. Nobody knows if they even existed.

"So? I'll just scare everyone then, what can they do?"

"Well, they might just shoot you to death. Since all of you can't use powers now, you'll probably die quite easily?"

They all fell into silence, realising that it was better to just listen to you since you knew about your weird world best.

You had to order take outs for all of them. They stared at your phone for a long time, amazed that this little rectangle had access to so many things. You explained a few of it's functions and they were already in awe.

You ordered pizzas, and they actually managed to eat 6 XL pizzas and finished them.

"Mmmm! Food is good here too!" Charmy was satisfied.

"Y/n san!" Asta chirped after he was done eating, "Why don't you show us your world!"

"Hmm, sure I guess, since we have time until midnight.. But first, all of you have to remove your robes. Yami, you cannot carry your katana everywhere. Liebe you need to cover your horns and eyes. Vanessa... Just more clothes yeah?"

You had to find clothes for all of them AND explain to them that their outfit would just make them stand out and it might just invite trouble. You gave Liebe a beanie and lent Vanessa your clothes.

Lucky for you, you drove a 7 seater car. You managed to get them all in although they were highly suspicious of your vehicle at first. You had to explain to them that this was how you guys travelled.

During the car ride, you had to explained to them about cars, planes, ships, trucks and etc. They didn't have those in their world. You also had to explain that you don't use magic here in this world and did everything by hand and feet or machines.

You brought them to an amusement park. They were all skeptical of all the rides and people that were screaming on them.

“It’s just how we have fun in this world~” you explain, this was probably boring for them comparing to their world with magical powers.

Charmy enjoyed all the popcorn and cotton candy, while Asta, And Noelle actually enjoyed the roller coaster.

Vanessa had the shock of her life on the 4D machine and Yami almost broke the machine when he tried to jump off it to save people.

Liebe was just bored from all the ‘mediocre’ rides and everyone had to just hold him down from jumping out of the viking ship.

“So..” you asked as they all cramped into your car again, “what did you guys do after the spade kingdom arc??”

They were pretty bored of the amusement park after 3 hours so you decided to bring them somewhere else instead. But you couldn’t help but get curious of how was everything after the latest manga chapter.

“You’re not supposed to know, aren’t ya?” Yami smirked at you, “what if we tell you and other weird shit happens again?”

You felt your heart skip a little as you saw him smirk at you in real life. Since Yami was sitting right beside you in the front, you could see his features up close.

The wrinkles on his forehead, his tanned skin but chiseled jaw line, his perfect nose and those little stubbles. Not to mention his body. His muscular, ripped body...

His smirk grew wider as he caught you staring, "I think the green light means you have to go, right?"

You blinked and shook your head, trying to hide the blush creeping up your cheeks as you stepped on the accelerator and moved off.

You came to the movies and bought 7 tickets to Avengers. You had about 1 hour before the movie started so you all headed into the arcade.

You instantly regretted it. It was CHAOS.

Yami almost broke the "Challenge your strength" machine, he punch the ball so hard it was stuck for a moment.

Noelle and Vanessa were shouting in the shoot the zombies machine. They were screaming about how the guns were useless and their magic would definitely kill all of them.

Charmy was surprisingly super duper good at Mario Kart, she was beating all the other kids there, hands down.

Liebe was losing in all of the matches in street fighter and he was about to strangle the other kid that was playing with him.

Asta tried playing the drop the ball game. And he almost pulled his hair out whenever his ball landed in 0 points.

"oi, y/n." Yami stood at the air hockey table, "how do you play this?"

You taught him to play and he was very good at it. His reflexes were hella fast and you were losing to him hands down.

The others saw the both of you having fun and they wanted to join in too.

"Let's play doubles then, y/n and I in a team, vs anyone." Yami came over to stand beside you. He used his left hand to play so he wouldn't knock into you.

You both actually made a great team, Yami always covered for you if you miss and he always scored goals.

You tried to defend an attack from Asta but you tripped instead. You staggered a little and you felt strong arms catch you. Yami's body was so warm, and his chest and arms felt so strong..

"whoa, you ok there?" Yami steadied you.

"I-I'm okay, the movie's starting, let's go!!" You quickly left the arcade and headed to the theatres.

Finally the noisy bunch was quiet while in the theatres. You had to thank Iron man, Thor, Captain America and friends. Vanessa and Charmy was smitten with the handsome actors, Asta, Liebe and Noelle were really into the action.

Yami sat beside you and occasionally stared at you.

"You don't like the movie?" you leaned closer to him and whispered.

"It's not bad. But I've seen a lot of action back from where we came from."

"You're adapting fast into this world, aren't you?"

"Well, to me, it's just like getting washed up the shores of the Clover kingdom one day and being in a whole new place."

"Yeah, I know. It must have been hard for you, but hey, look how far you came, meeting Julius and friends and now you have the bulls." you smiled at him.

"Was I one of your favourite character?" he gave a lazy grin.

Thankfully you were in the dark theatres or he would've seen your face turn bright as a tomato.

“Th-the black bulls were all my favourite,” you whispered, trying to stop your voice from cracking.

Yami was amused by you actually. He felt you were a cool and beautiful lady, staying on your own, being able to drive. You were fun since you brought them to the amusement park and the arcade. And the way you were shy, it was cute.

You had mixed feelings as the movie ended. You glanced at your watch, 10pm. It was time for you to head back and do the ritual and send the bulls back to their own world.

You kinda didn’t want them to go. You wanted to befriend them and get to know them more. With a solemn heart, you drove them all home.

The car ride was noisy but Yami noticed you were quiet. Were you tired? But your ki was off. It was sad.

As you stood in front of the mirror holding a candle, you turned on the anime from your laptop, you read the little poem and suddenly a portal opened from the mirror.

It started sucking the bulls in. One by one they said their goodbyes and jumped in.

“Thank you for the lovely food la~ Charmy will remember you!”

“Thank you y/n san! I had lots of fun at the arcade!” Asta shouted as he brought home some stationeries he won from the arcade.

“Thanks for the clothes babe~” Vanessa winked.

Yami was the last as he stood in front of you, “come on, it’s my turn to show you my world.”

Yami reached out his hand to bring you along.

“I..” you thought about your family and friends here. “I can’t..”

The tears filled your eyes but you still gave him a smile, “I’ll watch you from my little screen! You’re my favourite character!”

You nudged him towards the mirror but the portal close in front of him. You and Yami looked at each other as he gave you the shit eating smirk.

“Well, guess we have one more day together?”
