Can you pretty please with a cherry on top do a Paige (from fighting with my family)x soft girly girlfriend reader! I’ve always loved the opposites attract trope with couples! Especially a goth gf and her pink coquette gf! Paige and her girlfriend are literally polar opposites like Kuromi and My Melody (yes they’re girlfriends bc I say they are😂😍)

Paige leans against the wall, arms crossed over her chest, watching as you flit around the room with that sweet, pastel dress of yours. It’s like you radiate sunshine, a soft contrast to the dark, brooding energy she carries everywhere she goes. She never understood how you managed to be so effortlessly… bright.
“You sure you want to wear that to the match tonight?” Paige teases, her smirk growing as you glance over at her with that wide-eyed, innocent expression she loves.
You tilt your head, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. “What’s wrong with it? Too much pink?”
Paige chuckles, pushing off the wall and walking over to you. She’s still in her gear, all black leather and chains, while you’re practically a cloud of pastel fluff. “Nah,” she murmurs, slipping her hands around your waist, pulling you closer. “You look cute.”
You laugh softly, your arms automatically wrapping around her neck. “Cute doesn’t really go with your whole ‘I’m a badass wrestler’ vibe, though.”
She shrugs. “That’s why it works. I’m the badass, and you’re my adorable little princess.” She plants a kiss on your nose, grinning as your cheeks flush a sweet pink that perfectly matches your dress.
You roll your eyes at her playfully but can’t deny the warmth her words bring. Even though you and Paige seem like complete opposites, there’s something about the way you fit together that just feels right. Her strength makes you feel safe, and your softness calms the storm she often carries with her.
“I just feel like people are going to look at us and wonder how we even ended up together,” you say, voicing the insecurity that’s been nagging at you all day.
Paige tilts her head, studying you for a second before a mischievous smile tugs at her lips. “Let them wonder,” she says, her voice low and teasing. “We don’t owe anyone an explanation. Besides…” Her hands trail up to your cheeks, gently tilting your head up so you’re looking straight into her dark eyes. “I like the way you look next to me. You make me look even cooler.”
You can’t help but laugh at that. “Oh, so I’m just an accessory now?”
Paige shakes her head, her smirk softening into something more genuine. “Nah, you’re the reason I’m even halfway decent.” She pulls you even closer, her breath warm against your skin. “You make me better, babe. And don’t worry about what anyone else thinks. They don’t get us, but I do. That’s all that matters.”
Your heart flutters at her words. It’s moments like this that remind you why you fell for her in the first place. Beneath all the toughness and swagger, Paige has a heart of gold, especially when it comes to you.
“Fine,” you say, leaning into her embrace. “But if anyone says anything, I expect you to body slam them.”
Paige laughs, the sound deep and warm. “Deal. Now come on, princess. Let’s go show the world how opposites attract.”
With her arm around your shoulders and your hand in hers, the world outside feels a little less intimidating. It doesn’t matter how different you look or how much people don’t understand your relationship. What matters is the way Paige looks at you—like you’re the only person in the world who makes sense to her.
And that’s more than enough.

The Iron Claw: Review
Fighting with my family
Tumblr media
With the super tight trunks and dodgy haircuts, there’s something wonderfully daft about the world of professional wrestling. But whether it’s The Wrestler or Foxcatcher, the sport has served as a serious topic to explore the destructive nature of masculinity in cinema. Weighing in at just over 2 hours, the latest to join the ring is The Iron Claw, a poignant true story about an ill-fated wrestling family.
Set in 1980s Texas, we spend our time with the Von Erichs, an unusually close family of wrestlers and athletes. Led by patriarch and former pro wrestler Fritz Von Erich (a steely Holt McCallany) with his formidable wife Doris (a marvelous Maura Tierney), he rules the home with an iron claw, and looks to his four sons to carry on his wrestling legacy. He even has a hierarchy of what boys he favors - there’s olympic athlete Kerry (Jeremy Allen White), eldest son Kevin (Zac Efron), swaggering David (Harris Dickinson), and the more sensitive Mike (Stanley Simons). As the brothers jostle for a higher position, Kevin starts to have doubts about his father’s tough love approach.
While Fighting with my Family looked at how professional wrestling could bring a family together, this looks at how the need to appear macho in the sport can slowly tear a family apart. The Von Erich family is presented as a stifling cage that the brothers can’t escape, where talking about your feelings is taboo, and shedding a tear during a funeral too ‘unmanly’. There’s even a family curse that is invoked in the face of tragedy, when someone is pushed too close to the edge. From Sean Durkin, writer-director of Martha Marcy May Marlene, this is another excellent study of pent-up emotion and repressed feelings, with a show-don’t-tell approach that grounds the story, and makes major plot developments more upsetting.
As the Von Erich family makes a name for itself in the world of NWA wrestling, the sudden fame and physical demands begin to impact the family dynamic in fascinating, devastating ways. This results in some truly layered performances, including Allen White as the troubled Kerry, and Simons as Mike, whose inability to fit the macho mold is the most heart-breaking plot point. While Kevin’s eyes are opened to a different kind of life with girlfriend Pam (a spirited Lily James), it’s fair to say the others aren’t so lucky.
Sitting ringside to this story of family turmoil is Efron’s Kevin, the brawny elder brother whose emotional maturity has been stilted by the pursuit of someone else’s dream. Trading in on his physicality (and a strong resemblance to He-Man), Efron is perfectly cast as a troubled man who chafes against his father’s domineering parental style, but struggles to put his doubts into words. It’s a complex and perceptive performance, allowing Efron to flex acting muscles that he previously hasn’t been able to. Like his central performance, the film aches with sadness and regret, acting as a plea for men everywhere: when the going gets tough, don’t be afraid to cry!
With a masterful grasp of tone and subtle story-telling that packs a punch, The Iron Claw is a sad and compelling story about the limits of traditional masculinity.

Wondering and hoping again that AEW is going to sign The Von Erichs after seeing all these recent signings of other wrestlers who showed up around the same time they did last year. Last night they announced they signed Saraya's brother Zak Knight (both of which were depicted in the "Fighting with my Family" movie) and they also signed Bryan Keith (who tagged with The Von Erichs back in December) and Queen Aminata in the past couple weeks. I knew they couldn't be on AEW this week as Marshall and Ross are doing another event this weekend but really hoping they're next especially after wrestling with Dustin Rhodes.

I decided to mess around and use the Barbie generator thing on a few Florence Pugh pics for fun, but noticed the auto-generated Barbie descriptions were really cool, so for the next 24 hours (or until I remember to delete this) anyone who wants to can download these, use them and keep them for themselves.
Enjoy!

Florence Pugh as wrestler Saraya Knight in Fighting with My Family (2019). Wrestling scenes for the film were shot at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, while it was set up for WWE Monday Night Raw and WWE Smackdown.
In real life Saraya uses her mother's maiden name Bevis instead of Knight.
