i looked up what amanormitivity means (i had a vague clue but never seen anyone direvtly talking about it) and it seems very aromantic-specific (all definitions on google mention it being about how society basically enforces romantic relationships and shit) but i've seen posts implying aplatonic people are directly affected by it and i am confused. like yes fuck amanormativity but what does that have to do with us?

as far as ive heard its about forcing relationships to have a certain importance which can be the basic romantic > platonic, but some aromantic people switch it around and say theyre dismantling it when theyre actually reworking it. it can also be familial > platonic or any combination honestly, just anything that creates expectations that aspec people just cant meet bc of their lack of attraction if this makes sense? but ive never seen an actual description of it i just got this from context clues and 2am thought spirals

Since season 7 of TAWOG was properly announced I've been binging the episodes and doing art style studies which are boring to post but yeah I really do love the show. Will always have a warm place in my heart.

Man I forgot how much of a banger "The disaster/The Rerun" was I had that episode recorded on cable like it deserved.

Hey, which is your fav Joe film and which one do you recommend to everyone as a first time watcher?

Don't make me choose 🫣🫣🫣 The first to watch? Definitely Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk. Not only because he is practically in every scene of the film, but it's a good role. He has good scenes that allow him to show what a good actor he is, and how much emotional range he has. Start there.

Next A Christmas Carol (again, good guy and lots of scenes) and also the negative roles (Operation Finale & Harriet). His acting is impeccable and he has good screen time.

Next Catherine Called Birdy and Mary Queen of Scots because there's just something about Joe in a period film. He really should do more.

The rest I guess can be watched randomly.

Conversations with Friends and Stars at noon should be the last. 😹 Watch only if you are already a fan of Joe, or a fan of the books, cause between the actual plots and the way the script is, it's a bit of an acquired taste.. 🫣
