The music of a smalltime band filled the dive bar as Birdie nursed a drink. Her attention stayed on the tiny stage for a moment, silently wondering if this would be the last time she'd ever hear music from them or if somewhere down the road they'd manage to graduate from performing at dingy bars and make it big. From where she sat, neither option seemed more probable than the other. Pulling her attention away, her eyes settled on the person next to her. "Let's say you can only listen to five artists for the rest of your life, who are you choosing?"

2023: A Year for the Pop Girlies

Hey, which is your fav Joe film and which one do you recommend to everyone as a first time watcher?

Don't make me choose 🫣🫣🫣 The first to watch? Definitely Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk. Not only because he is practically in every scene of the film, but it's a good role. He has good scenes that allow him to show what a good actor he is, and how much emotional range he has. Start there.

Next A Christmas Carol (again, good guy and lots of scenes) and also the negative roles (Operation Finale & Harriet). His acting is impeccable and he has good screen time.

Next Catherine Called Birdy and Mary Queen of Scots because there's just something about Joe in a period film. He really should do more.

The rest I guess can be watched randomly.

Conversations with Friends and Stars at noon should be the last. 😹 Watch only if you are already a fan of Joe, or a fan of the books, cause between the actual plots and the way the script is, it's a bit of an acquired taste.. 🫣
