It's really disheartening to me to realize that ever since The Office disappeared from Netflix it seems almost any kind of conversation I see about it on SM is overwhelmingly chauvinistic if not outright misogynistic and revolves solely around how Jim and Pam are Satan. I don't know to what extent the podcast and the BTS books influence this, but it seems all I hear is some variation of how their lives were ruined when they got married and had kids, Jim is a [redacted] for not cheating on Pam when had the opportunity, that they're the most awful, toxic people in the entire universe, that Roy should have throttled Jim for horsing around with his fiancee. It seems that this is all anyone is willing to talk about and it's so gross and dishonest and I definitely did not hear this kind of talk when the show was going on.

Granted, these two weren't my favorites, and that final season storyline is definitely an example of the writers needing to be stopped before they hurt themselves and ruin the legacy of the show, but...Jim.and Pam were not monsters, the infidelity they engaged in (the S2 kiss) was fairly mild, and their problems were pretty mundane and realistic. I just hate seeing them being constantly caricatured as the worst people alive.

Alright part 2 of the cult au so when Alastor gets back to hell he’ll look everywhere for Vox because he knows there’s no way he would be in heaven and they eventually have a reunion in cannibal town and they pretty much become besties but Vox wants to build a empire again but instead of a religious cult it’s more like the company he makes in the show. Alastor is worried that it will end the same as the cult so he’s against it which causes their relationship to strain because Vox feels like Alastor is being controlling while Alastor feels like he’s doing what’s right for Vox it ends with Vox running away with Valentino he starts Vox tech and the Vees and is always on the run because of Alastor until they finally run into each other and had that fight before Alastor left which ends with Vox winning but before leaving Alastor for good he makes one last offer for him to join the Vees so they can be a team just like when he was alive and Alastor refuses

cue 200 chapters of Alastor trying to convince Vox to join the hazbin hotel before it’s too late lol

I'm somewhat of a S7 apologist, in part because I think there were a lot of things that happened during that season that needed to happen that ASP would not have allowed and in part because there is just no easy way of repairing the damage caused by season 6 but let's be honest...the first third of this season is PAINFUL. Rory and Lorelai are isolated from Stars Hollow, so we only get Stars Hollow antics every other episode when the focus is on Luke and Lane (and let's get real, their storylines are pretty lacking during this time period). So most of it is Rory and her new friends (nice idea in theory, but in execution not so much), Lorelai having a really bizarre identity crisis, Lorelai and Christopher being schmoopy, and Lorelai saying a lot of things about Luke which I think are unnecessarily cruel. I don't hate Rory and Logan this season (like it or not, Milo chose to move on and Czuchry was a main cast member, so this is the card that has to be played) but he's not around a lot at this point so it's a non issue.

I actually think the show improved when Christopher and Lorelai got married because she's integrated into Stars Hollow again, she is no longer as cruel to/about Luke, and it's clear pretty early that this isn't going to last. I don't mind that she married him, I don't even mind that she dated him, I mind that she was MEAN about it and that I had to endure entire episodes of it with no break.

So season 7 has its bright spots but they are not to be found in the first third of the season at all.
