Mula Nakshatra
Mula has the power to destroy or ruin.
“In bringing afflictions Mula Nakshatra also allows us to destroy their root, as long as they don’t overcome us. It shows the necessary destruction to precede a new creation.” - David Frawly (vedanet.com, 2022)
One symbol is a bunch of roots.
What do we associate with this? The root of the matter. Pulling things up by the roots. Revealing what was hidden.

The witchcraft discourse on Tumblr is confusing
I’ve been a practicing witch with highs and lows, and multiple restarts (because of the lows) for almost fifteen years. There are quite a few things I’m sure of:
Magick is what you make of it.
Not everything is an omen.
To be worth something, it doesn’t have to be divine.
The most mundane things are the most magickal.
There are many basics I go back to - the lunar phases, colour and candle magick, charms, and sigils. As of late, I’ve decided to ditch the ‘traditional’ representation of the Wheel of the Year, and I do believe a lot of people should too. I’m making my own for the simple reason that it doesn’t apply to Malta. You want to know what a year in Malta looks like?
January is cold.
February is all about St Paul’s Shipwreck, St Valentine’s day, and most importantly, Carnival.
March has welcomed St Patrick’s day but it’s still all about St Joseph and Freedom Day.
April is Easter. The whole month. And Fests Frawli. Strawberries bloody everywhere.
All May has to offer is Labour Day.
June is a 28 day wait for L-Imnarja - the most raucous way to welcome summer I’ve ever witnessed year after year.
July is Heatwave Month.
August is all about Santa Maria. Two weeks of it. Even though the feast itself is on the 15th.
September is Back to School Month and also Independence day.
October has welcomed Halloween but is quickly followed by All Saint’s and Souls’ Days.
November USED to be about St Martin. Why that died out is a mystery.
December is public holiday heaven, but mostly Christmas and New Year’s.
And that, dear reader (if anyone actually reads my posts), is a Maltese Wheel of the Year. Sure, Isle of MTV marks our calendars yearly but I’m not sure I want to add that. There’s also Notte Bianca and a bus-load of other cultural events... The Esbats are too, out the window because the names of the Full Moons don’t make any freaking sense either.
Now that that part of the rant is out of the why, I’ll explain why the witchcraft discourse is confusing.
Most practitioners here agree that magick is what you make of it. If a spell ONLY works for you if you have exactly 37 white candles, 2 blue candles, and one rainbow coloured penis candle then well done, you’ve found what works, you’re a witch. Some people need nothing at all, and others must literally butcher twelve deer at 12:44.56 on the day they cast a spell. Some string a few emojis and others spend months waiting for the exact date and time and the perfect chant, ingredients, and what have you. Congratulations, we’re all witches.
Why is it then, that there are so many practitioners that insist that their way is the only way? Or that their way is more relevant? Or simple more ‘real’? I’ve seen on a post some time ago where someone complained that today’s witchcrafts is so watered down it’s laughable. Excuse me but if you open up your browser and type a few things in Google you’ll find that humans discovered the amazing ever-evolving miracles of science and technology. “Oh”, I hear, “but the Olde WaysTM were much more gritty and thus more real.” So you want to place a spell on someone that will follow them for the rest of their life that will spread to their offspring, if they have any, simply because an ancient witch decided why not and you want to emulate her? What the fuck happened to live and let live? Forgive and forget? I thought people today wanted everyone to learn tolerance? What am I missing?
There’s another thing I’ve read: A witch is a true witch if they can do the following without breaking a sweat. Bitch if I don’t want to do healing magick because over-the-counter medication will solve my and your shit faster, then fuck you. Or worse, this was said to my face, “What do you mean you can’t do weather magick? That’s like the basics of witchcraft?” Fuck. You. The weather hates me and and everyone on the island, and we collectively hate it back. I’ll say it again: Fuck; You. Someone actually laughed at me because I can’t astral travel (because the only way I can is if I fucking die thank you very much). Even after explaining that I LITERALLY CAN NOT, they called me a noob.
As far as I know, not everyone is capable of everything imaginable. Sure, we all have the potential, but not everyone is able to do certain things. We are all wired differently: characteristics, personality, hobbies, pet peeves, etc. We’re human, birthed from a wonderful explosion of natural science. We didn’t come out of plaster moulds. We’re not the same. So, if you please, go fuck yourself if you really believe you’re better than other practitioners. More experienced, sure - better just because, fuck you.
And this is why I hate people.
Devus out.

she's got an interest in berry picking then selling them to wanderers that meet her or explorers. she ocassionally visits cities. she also has a little bit off skill in cooking.

It’s back! Festa Frawli will be taking place again this year in Mġarr on Sunday April 24th. Will you be going? SPRING AND MĠARR: I LOVE YOU BERRY MUCH! Spring heralds the start of fresh, locally grown strawberries in Malta. The plump and juicy bright red fruit can be found in stores year-round, but you can’t argue that nothing beats eating a perfectly ripe, freshly-grown strawberry! Strawberry harvest season in Malta is quite long and lasts from November to July. Whereas nearly all food product prices in Malta have increased in recent times, at the moment the selling price for strawberries has gone down. We bought this box today (Friday 22nd April) for 3 Euros. Be sure to grab yourself one! THE STRAWBERRY FEAST: FESTA FRAWLI It has become tradition for the last fifteen or so years for a strawberry fair to be held in April in the village of Mġarr in northern Malta, where the majority of Maltese strawberries are cultivated. This sweet event, known as Festa Frawli (Strawberry Feast), offers fresh strawberries collected locally together with a plethora of other goodies, most of which are made of or include this popular berry. From chocolate gateaux, tarts, cakes, juices and smoothies, milk-shakes, strawberry ice-cream, waffles, pancakes, jams, strawberry wine, and even strawberry risotto and ravioli with a strawberry sauce, you are bound to find something strawberry for your tastes! The fair is back in 2022, after it was cancelled in 2020 for the global situation. The event has become one that many embrace and celebrate at this time of year. It also helps grow awareness about this popular fruit. The fair is attended by people from all over Malta and Gozo, as well as tourists, who together unite in the Mġarr parish square from the early morning hours till evening to celebrate one of Malta’s most beloved harvests. Adding to the traditional festive atmosphere is a touch of local folklore, with the playing of traditional Maltese instruments, such as iż-żaqq (Maltese bagpipes), it-tambur (Maltese tambourine), and il-flejguta (Maltese folk flute).
