FrauGruber Hybrid Moments DDH Double IPA (Picked up at Sterk in Amsterdam). A 4 of 4. Right up there with some of the best -- tons of tropical and citrus fruit in the nose with just a touch of light grain. The body is bright and sweet with all the fruit up front, and some nice pine and resin that comes in mid-body, too. There’s actually some nice body bitterness to this to help balance, and the creamy body finishes relatively simply and dry.

FrauGruber Yeast Is King 6,3% vol. Gundelfingen, Deutschland

Das IPA fließt in trübem Goldgelb ins Glas. In der Nase intensive fruchtige Aromen von Mango und Mandarine, dazu süßliches Malz. Geschmacklich geht es dann genauso überbordend und vollmundig weiter. Ein wuchtiger Malzkörper, fruchtige Hefearomen und eine Bittere, die das Ganze zusammenhält und den Nachtrunk lange sehr ausgewogen macht. Viel besser kann man ein IPA fast nicht machen. 9/10

FrauGruber Brewing ; Wai-iti in Stratasphere ; Double Dry Hopped Indian Pale Ale #SupportLocalBreweries #DrinkLocal #InternationalCraftBeer And finally here is my third International IPA in USA , all the way from 🇩🇪 GERMANY 🇩🇪brewed by @Fraugruber_brewing. A big thanks to my friends from Germany , @Hopfenundhefe. I could feel a big difference between American IPAs & German IPAs. Both are good in their own perspectives, but German IPAs are medium bodied, malty IPAs whereas American IPAs are full of hoppy notes , occasionally fruits and malts. This was very similar to what I had previously, but I believe addition of Wai-iti hops made this one a little sour and I am not a huge fan of Sours. But that being said this was a really good experience as well. Pours into a hazy, orange color with a fizzy, tiny mouth. Sweet malt smells like relatively juicy tropical like lighter citrus hops, with hints of passion fruit, grapefruit and just a touch of herbal dankness. Taste matches the nose, with an outstanding blend of light malt and vivid tropical and lighter citrus hop juices. Therefore fruits a little mango notes together with a strong herbal dankness. Finishes with a light / medium bitterness and lingering aftertaste of some passion fruit and herbal dankness. Smooth, light / medium body mouthfeel and low carbonation. Highly drinkable, I would say until now I have never had such a different IPA based on Strata Hops. Compared to the usual Stratasphere, on the zesty citrus notes it is much heavier, with the Wai-iti obviously taking over the Strata here, though it still comes through with much lighter passion fruit and very little herbal gratitude. With their separate and very vibrant hop profiles, I personally like them, missing the full-bodiedness but decent enough for me. Das Stout fließt tiefschwarz ins Glas, mit röstmalzigen, leicht säuerlichen Noten. Geschmacklich dann tatsächlich wesentlich besser als es riecht, schönes Röstmalz, gute Hopfenbittere und insgesamt schön trocken. Im Nachtrunk kommt eine leichte Rauchnote dazu. Passt. 7/10
