— characters: hana & frankie — setting: convenience store/grocery store — partner: @frankiexshen
Now that the announcement over the store speakers said the store would be closing in 10 minutes, Hana felt rushed. Unable to recall the name of that energy drink one of her clients had recommended, the former model turned yoga instructor pulled out her phone in the idea of Googling it. "This is unfair," the native New Yorker commented, somewhat under her breath. Full pout, full whine. "Like don't they have people standing around to help?" In her past experiences that was a no, though now she was flustered in knowing she had to do this quickly. "I just want that one drink. The peach vibes thing— something like that. I was told it actually tasted good and that it worked."

location — a touch of ink
character — @frankiexshen
Did he need another tattoo? No. Could he possibly pass up a flash sell? Also a big no. The line, to his surprise, wasn't all that long as he slowly fell into the back. He wasn't quite sure what he was going to get, or where he was going to get it, but at the low price of anything under a hundred bucks, it didn't matter much. "Any idea on what you're getting? I might steal your idea. Make us tattoo twins." A joke, of course, unless her idea was a hell of a lot more creative than his own, then maybe he'd actually consider it. "I should probably look at the sheets they posted, but I'm also down to be surprised. Think they have ducks on there? Pretty sure my kids would think it's the best tattoo in the world."

Had dates ever been this nerve wracking before? Phoebe honestly couldn’t remember. Maybe it was because the last few dates were just an excuse for a hot meal and some time out of the house. Admittedly, after a really bad one in Holy Spirits she had deleted the apps for a while, only redownloading them now she found herself with more free-time whilst Asli was at the hospital. And had found herself completely entranced by Frankie’s profile. “Please, sorry, but can you please say aluminum again?” She asked with a smile, admittedly a little bit tipsy from the happy hour margaritas she decided to indulge herself in, completely entertained by the other’s British accent.

location: floral display judging
status: closed for @frankiexshen
He wasn’t actually sure what inspired him to start filling out the scoring cards for the various window displays that were participating in the contest, but CJ was just glad Frankie had decided to join him, basking in the sunshine as they walked down the streets, making comments about different vendors and stalls, making a detour to Below Zero for some free ice cream. “Shit,” He muttered, his cup smearing the scoring card after he had the genius idea to try and eat it and judge the floral displays at the same time. “A little help here?” He asked, words slightly garbled around the small plastic spoon, the cup threatening to fall out of his hand, the scoring card crumpled up in the other.

"You're the first person who has ever said that to me," Phoebe confirmed, "Can you repeat that so I can record it?" She then added as a joke, rolling her eyes at Frankie's next comment. "Three hours? You're basically asking me to recreate the Era's Tour, and then we'll be kicked out of the bar and I'll never be able to look at Thea in the eye again." It was an empty promise (or threat, depending on how you looked at it) as Phoebe, with the exception of drunken karaoke, wouldn't have the guts to draw attention to herself in that way. "Yeah, way to catfish a girl...pun not intended but fuck it. Where is Pushkin anyway?" She thanked both Frankie and the bartender as her glass was handed to her, holding her glass up as if making a toast. "Here's to a night of me talking nonsense for at least three hours, and what I'm sure will be a great night."
@frankiexshen
"I reckon you talk a perfectly normal amount," Frankie said, a smile tugging at the edges of her mouth. She personally often felt that her mind was full of so very much that each topic vied for attention until it all sort of spilled out at once; a bit like a spilled glass of water, perhaps. "Besides," She drawled, her previous confidence returning with a ferocity that only served to make her smile widen. "I happen to think you've got quite the lovely voice so I can't say I mind listening to it. You could talk to me about your favorite things for the next three hours and I wouldn't mind a bit." It sounded the slightest bit pathetic in its earnestness but Frankie wasn't the sort of person to shy away from telling someone when she discovered something about them she appreciated and it helped her feel more centered— more at ease in the moment than she had when her anxiety had felt, briefly, as though it was the only thing she could pay attention to. An undignified noise spilled from her in the form of the hard snort of laughter Phoebe's comment earned and Frankie couldn't help but smile as she nudged the other woman playfully. "I thought it was cute! Mine's got about as many photos of my cat as it does me so if anything we're on an even playing field, Phee," Frankie grinned, crooked and bright. "It's going to sound absolutely silly but I'll like whatever you'd like. Red sounds lovely." She paused for a moment to flag down the bartender and quietly ordered for both of them.

— SETTING: spring extravaganza ; april 10th, the grape escape tent downtown — AVAILABILITY: closed starter for FRANCESCA SHEN | ( @frankiexshen )
It was funny that every time he bumped into Frankie, there was a damn smile on his lips. Although he knew the younger doctor would be around for the festivities, he didn't know when exactly they would end up bumping into one another, so, when he did spot her in the crowd, Dean was quick to throw his arm around her shoulders and duck his head, as if to tell her a secret or something. "Do you think they would notice if we stole one of these bottles?" His bright smirk shone down on her, before Dean pressed a kiss on her cheek. "'Sup, Doctor Shen. Would you hold my hand and protect me if I got too drunk on wine tasting?"

leticia medina & frankie shen
"Well, well, well... If it isn't my favourite customer." The smile that appeared on their features was a mixture of being genuinely happy to see Frankie and a Cheshire-like smirk at the opportunity to play with the younger brunette. Of course, Hero was being truthful: Frankie Shen has proven to be one of the most loyal customers of the Comic Lab. Never seeming to stray and take business elsewhere, which was more than perfect for the owner of the establishment. Not only for business reasons; But because they truly liked getting to see Frankie in the store. Browsing among the comics and finding the perfect books and merchandise, showing such a sweet face for as long as possible. With their eyebrow raising and head tilting, Hero leaned against the wall near the other. "I've missed you quite a lot, Cutie. Feels like it's been a hot moment since I've seen you here."

"Oh, god, that would be perfect," she exhaled, a sigh escaping her lips. "Honestly, I was starting to think I'd be stuck here overnight," Matilda confessed. Venturing aimlessly through town had already been bold, but the thought of admitting she needed help was a whole new level of embarrassment.
Her gaze darted over the other person's features in a quick once-over, but what caught her attention most was the accent. "British?" she queried, wrinkling her nose in curiosity. "Hold on, let me guess... Definitely not from up North. I'd say London-ish?" @frankiexshen
Frankie, in her own fumbling way, had tried to take Thea's advice when it came to getting herself out of the house at least once a week for something that wasn't work related. As the weather improved and the Farmer's Market opened up more and more it seemed a perfect reason to go and peruse the market for... well, for anything she could reasonably get her hands on, really. She'd only half counted on how many people would be crowding the market but she wasn't as nervous about that as she tended to be and she counted that as a small win. She was drawn from her own meandering thoughts by the sound of someone speaking and she glanced at the woman curiously, already offering her a smile as she laughed softly. "It's... definitely a bit of an adventure to try and get through it but it gets easier!" Frankie assured her. "I can just take you to the exit, if you'd like? It might be... slightly less confusing than trying to give you verbal directions. Not that it wouldn't be possible, mind you, just a bit annoying, I imagine." She paused. "If you're alright with that, of course!"

character: Frankie Shen @frankiexshen
location: End of Summer Bonfire Bash
"You want some of my blanket, Frank? It's getting chilly." Thea offered as she sat next to her best friend. She knew that the fire was warm still but it didn't hurt to offer. "I miss you, I feel like it's been way too long since I've seen you. Being adults is not fun when it means it keeps you away from hanging with your buddy." She gave Frankie a small pout as she definitely had a nice little buzz going from her drinks, but was not looking to go further than that. "Tell me things, catch me up, I need the tea Frankenstein!"

Who: @frankiexshen Where: Hospital canteen
Asher had a break, something that didn't often happen so she headed down to the canteen to get a coffee and something sweet. She'd managed to have her lunch between some contractions but now she just wanted something to get her through the rest of the shift. She got herself a coffee and a piece of chocolate caramel shortbread before her eyes started scanning the room, a break was always nice but it was even better if she found someone to chat with.
Her eyes landed on Frankie sitting alone and she smiled as she beelined towards the brunette. "Frankie," she smiled, "mind if I sit?" she asked, though she was planning on sitting either way, it was more of a formality. "I may not be very long, I'm just waiting for the dreaded beeper noise to go off and say that someone is ready to give birth."

𝙰𝚂𝙻𝙸𝙷𝙰𝙽 𝙵𝙰𝙷𝚁𝙸-𝙱𝙰𝙸𝙻𝙴𝚈 & 𝙵𝚁𝙰𝙽𝙺𝙸𝙴 𝚂𝙷𝙴𝙽
"Okay, okay, I know our agreement. 'No work talk during lunch', I respect that." Humming softly as she took a drink of her hot white chocolate with cinnamon, she glanced over at Frankie. It was incredible how one word, doctor in this case, could have multiple different meanings. How for Asli, she has doctorates for multiple different academic reasons. Her friend? Her friend was working on becoming a surgeon. The anthropologist couldn't help but to be curious over everything that's been happening so far with the other's residency. "But seriously, how's your residency going? Feeling good about things? Feeling like you need to learn or do more? What's on your mind?"

LOCATION — The Burger Joint
WHO — Sebastian & Frankie ( @frankiexshen )
"Okay, so, like — donating your body to science, right?" Sebastian glanced across the table, plucking a fry from the plate in front of him and popping it into his mouth as he made eye contact with Frankie. If the man was good at anything, it was throwing his friends off guard by whatever outlandish thought came to his mind next. "Can I do that while I'm still alive? Y'know, like, have you cut open my body and see what's inside — maybe do some fun little experiments with it or whatever — and then patch me up again real nice and send me on my way? 'Cause that seems dope as fuck, and I'd totally want you to be the person with that honor . . . but if I've gotta be dead first, then that's lame. How am I meant to know what science-y things they're using my body for if I'm dead? Knowing's like, the cool part."

She stuck the now slightly dingy penny back into the console of her car as she perched over the side of it, her driver's side door open. The scratch-off lottery ticket in her hands was still full of its residue, and she blew on it carefully to clean it just as someone came out of the gas station and approached the parked car next to her. "What am I supposed to do with a 3-dollar win on a scratch-off?" Clara chuckled, shaking her head as she flipped it over absentmindedly. It had been a total impulse buy as she stopped in to grab a water bottle after leaving the one she always had with her at home. "Can I interest you in taking this off my hands? It'll sit in my car for weeks. A whole three dollars. On me."

Maya wanted to ensure historical accuracy in her designs, which was one of the reasons why she always frequented the library, leaving with more books about fashion than anyone else. Before accepting any new projects, she made sure to do thorough research, ensuring that the final result would be nearly perfect.. and poured faith and love into her work. Unable to focus at home, she decided to grab some coffee and pancakes at the Teacher's Lounge. Walking around with her small tote bag full of books, the brunette spotted an empty seat next to a woman and tried to catch her attention. "Hi, sorry, I didn't mean to startle you," Maya said softly. "Are you sure it's okay? I don't want to interrupt or anything... but I didn't quite expect this place to be full at this hour."

Somewhere between her third cup of coffee and fifth painstaking redraw of a diagram she wanted to memorize, Frankie decided that studying in public was either the best or worst decision she'd ever been capable of making. She felt at least marginally guilty about the fact that she had two textbooks open across the length of her table and notes covering almost every other available inch of space― the diner had been blissfully quiet when she'd gotten in but felt remarkably more crowded as she glanced up and finished her coffee. "Bloody hell," Frankie muttered under her breath, meeting the gaze of someone who seemed to be searching for a seat and raising a hand to catch their attention. "Did you want a seat? I can... straighten up this disaster zone a bit and you're welcome to join me. If you'd like, obviously, I can't exactly force you." Truth be told, she needed to take a bit of a break and the distraction of company was a welcome one in her mind if she could get it.

— SETTING: hot cocoa stop (downtown) ; morning — AVAILABILITY: closed starter for FRANKIE SHEN | ( @frankiexshen )
This whole 'New Years goals' had barely started and they were already getting the best of Dean. As he'd promised to start working out and eating better, it was also making him a little bit cranky as he was always freaking tired. That morning, it was just his luck to see the hot chocolate truck parked mere blocks from his building, so, of course, he had to stop and have a cup, right? Right? Dean just wasn't expecting to find Frankie standing in line.
"Frankenstein, my dude!" The streamer threw his arm around the petite brunette's shoulders, offering her his usual golden retriever smile as he looked at her. Good thing he showered at the gym. That way he wasn't going to be self-conscious to be standing this close to someone else. "How are ya? How were the holidays? More importantly, if you give me your spot, I'll buy you a cup of hot cocoa."
