Rabat - A Lidl franchise in France has been marred in controversy following accusations from customers who suggested that the supermarket has been mislabeling Israeli products as Moroccan to mitigate the impact of boycotts against Israeli products.
Lidl, the German international discount retailer chain, is operating in many locations worldwide, notably in Europe and the US.
Many people have shared a video of a customer warning other clients to pay attention to the labels while shopping.
The video documents the customer showing avocado products labeled as “from Morocco.” Upon inspecting the box, the label shows that the product is actually from Israel.
Upon fact-checking, one of the videos was discovered to date back to February and older tweets from 2020 resurfaced, expressing similar concerns from customers.
Many other netizens have asserted that the issue is still persisting.
“Same thing [happend to me] this morning at the Lidl in Vallauris in 06 - avocados from Morocco on the store label, and on the avocado, an Israeli label. These scammers, you really have to be careful before buying,” an X user wrote on November 8. “I think there are plenty of stores doing this to sell their stocks.”
Another X user also posted a video about the situation, calling on fellow customers to be “wary of false displays in Lidl ad Carrefour supermarkets.”
“The boycott is working so well that these supermarkets label products as coming from Africa or Morocco instead of Israel. Check the packaging and report it to fraud control authorities,” the user added.

PREVIEW:
Wednesday, April 10th, 1912 Southampton, London
The blare of the fog horn is unmissable, rattling the conversations in a small pub off the White Star Dock. Even through the dusty windows she was clear as day, big as anything anyone had ever seen. Large black body met with a red base, multiple decks, and four large smoke stacks. The ship seemed to go on forever, her beauty unmatched to anyone who had seen it – a behemoth on the seas. A glory – a masterpiece.
The doors of the pub fluttered open and closed all morning as it edged closer and closer to noon. Pints poured by the dozens, the hundreds – half the country coming to the piers to see off the Ship of Dreams and its passengers. The bar was alight with chatter, mixing in with the roar of people from outside — hundreds of people halfway to boarding, waving and kissing goodbye. Beer glasses clinked and people cheered while they watched a long line of high end cars gleam in the spring sun as they rolled down the dock. Precious cargo full of Europe and America’s elite.
Reporters and bellhops alike flock to them like flies, pub patrons ogling through the dusty windows while they exit their buggies.
Among the commotion, the endless chatter and screeching of pub seats, sat four men oblivious to the spectacle. They’re sitting around a small table with sweat on their brows as the April sun pours golden over them. Eyes burning over their cards as cigarette smoke wafts over their heads — the players lost in the fog during an intense round of poker.
The pot was mostly meager — a few pounds and swaths of change, a pocket watch, a penknife. But in the center was the crown jewel, a prize that would change the winner’s life forever. Two pieces of pressed parchment reading:
Tumblr media
The men leer over their hands, not a friendly face between them — the tickets were not the dealer’s, but two of the players who had bet the wrong guys. Guys who had been beyond the break and back again, meeting in Morocco, then Paris, and traveling together back to London — guys who had never lost a game of poker.
Eddie places his bet, pulling a small silver ring off of his right ring finger and tossing it in the center.
“Are you kidding?” Jeff asks from his left, “That’s everything we have.”
Eddie grins at him, taking a drag of his cigarette. The sun dances in his big brown eyes like he knows something the rest of them don’t, “When you got nothin’, you got nothin’ to lose.”
The two other players speak to each other heatedly in Swedish after one of them hits for a new card. The outburst makes it clear that things aren’t looking good for the Swedes — it makes Eddie’s heart leap. Maybe this is it, maybe he’s finally gonna get back to the states. “Sven?” he asks the man next to him. “Hit,” he replies, putting down a card and taking another. Eddie follows suit, furrowing his brow while his bangs meet his eyelashes. Sweat collects on the nape of his neck where his dark curls are twisted up in a graphite drawing pencil – a trick he picked up from women he met in France. He puffs the smoke from his mouth, eyes meeting the Swede across from him who looks like he couldn’t be having a worse day.
“Alright,” he says, putting his cigarette down on the ashtray between then, “Moment of truth. Somebody’s life’s about to change.”
He leans back in his chair and looks at his friend, sweat beading at the edge of his hairline and glinting off of his deep skin, “Jefferey?”
Jeff throws his cards down with a roll of his eyes. “Nothing,” Eddie nods.
“Nothing,” Jeff says curtly through a grit in his teeth. His heart pounds in his chest while he looks at the last of their money on the table – they can’t afford to lose.
“Olaf?” Eddie asks, the Swede throws down his cards in a huff, “Nothin’.”
“Sven?”
Sven puts down his cards and Eddie frowns, “Oh…two pair.”
His shoulders droop while he looks at his own cards, eyes lingering on the silver ring in the middle of the table, “I’m sorry, Jeff.”
“What do you mean ‘sorry’?” You idiot! You bet all of our bloody money! You imbecile, you–”
“I’m sorry, you’re not going to be able to visit your cousins in Paris again for a long time,” Eddie says with a serious edge. Jeff quirks his brow, triggering Eddie’s winning smile behind plush pink lips.
“‘Cause we’re goin’ to America!” he exclaims, slamming his cards down on the table, “FULL HOUSE, BOYS!”
Jeff leaps from his chair in the back of the pub, reaching for the tickets on the on the table, “WE’RE GOIN’ TO BACK TO AMERICA!”
“I’m goin’ home!” Ed exclaims while the boys hug tightly. The pub cheers for them, pints still flowing — men and women with red cheeks having no idea what they’re cheering for until a fight breaks out between the Swedes.
Eddie laughs, hoisting his bag up over his shoulder and Jeff does the same — their white shirts dirtied with the stains of the day before.
“I can’t believe it,” Jeff says, teeth shining in a grin across his face, “Goin’ back to America!”
“Titanic’s going back to America, boys,” the barkeep says, pointing at the clock, “In five minutes!”

In 1917, the Soviets revealed the secret treaties of the imperialist powers. When he released these documents, Leon Trotsky – the People’s Commissar of Foreign Affairs – noted, ‘Secret diplomacy is a necessary weapon in the hands of the propertied minority which is compelled to deceive the majority in order to make the latter serve its interests. Imperialism, with its worldwide plans of annexation, its rapacious alliances and machinations, has developed the system of secret diplomacy to the highest degree’. The Soviet record against colonialism was clear, even as the Comintern struggled to produce a firm line in this or that country. There was no instance where the Soviets considered colonial rule to be worthwhile. The same with fascism, which the Soviets saw as anathema to humankind. Soviet aid to Republican Spain was one test and the other was the immense sacrifice of the USSR in the fight against fascism in World War II.
In 1931, the Spanish Left won the elections and inaugurated the Second Spanish Republic. An even more radical Popular Front government came to power in 1936. Only two countries, Mexico and the USSR – the two peasant republics that had been formed by revolutions – backed the Spanish Republic. Progressive policies to undercut landlords, the aristocrats and the capitalists set the Republic against the ruling bloc. That bloc would rapidly find solace in the fascist movement as well as in the army of General Francisco Franco that left Spanish colonized Morocco for the mainland. From North Africa, the fascists came into the Iberian Peninsula with the intent of overthrowing the Republic by force. A war ensued, which was – with the fascist Italian invasion of Ethiopia in 1935 – an early frontline of the fascist assault. The Soviets backed the Republic, as did Communist parties from around the world. Communists came to the aid of the Republic from the United States to the Philippines, from India to Ireland. The International Brigades, supported by the USSR, provided a bulwark against the onrush of the fascist armies, which were backed not only by the fascist powers (Italy and Germany) but also by the imperialist bloc (Britain and France). Fissures between the anarchists and the communists fractured the unities necessary in the fight against fascism, surely, but there it is undeniable that without logistical help – Operation X – from the Soviets the Republic would have been crushed immediately and not lasted until 1939.
When the Republic fell in March 1939, the imperialist and fascist blocs seemed fused. When Franco marched into Madrid, the British Ambassador went to greet him. When Nehru, who had been to the Republican front-lines and was fully behind the Republic, heard of this, he shuddered. This imperialist and fascist alliance was against humanity. Franco would remain in power until his death in 1975. He remained heralded by the ‘democratic’ countries of Europe.
The USSR, through the summer of 1939, faced the imminent threat of invasion by the fascist and imperialist powers. Such an invasion had taken place right after 1917. In the war in Spain, it became clear that Soviet armaments that went there through Operation X were not of the same quality as those produced by the Germans and the Italians. The Soviets sent 772 airmen in heavy Tupolev SB bombers, which turned out to be far slower and more vulnerable than the German Messerschmitt Bf 109. The Soviet army staff feared that an invasion by the Nazis and the imperialist bloc, after the fall of Spain, would be catastrophic for the USSR. The Nazis had already seized Austria in the Anschluss of 1938 and had threatened Lithuania with conquest in March 1939. The Italians had seized Albania in April 1939 and the two fascist powers – Italy and Germany – signed a decisive Pact of Steel in May 1939. Britain’s appeasement of the fascist bloc at the Munich meeting in 1938 suggested collusion between the imperialist and the fascist bloc. This was the context of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact of August 1939, where the Soviets hoped to get some time to build up their capacity before an inevitable Nazi attack. Surely there should have been no compromise with fascism. But this was in the realm of realpolitik – a way to salvage time before the war that was to come. Indeed, in September 1939, the USSR opened nine factories to build aircraft and seven factories to build aircraft engines. The Red Army grew from 1 million (Spring of 1938) to 5 million (June 1941).
But Stalin had other ideas as well. On March 10, 1939, when the Spanish Republic was ready to fall, he said that the USSR should allow the ‘warmongers to sink deeply into the mire of warfare, to quietly urge them on’. If Germany and Britain went to war, then it would ‘weaken and exhaust’ both allowing the USSR ‘with fresh forces’ to enter the fray eventually ‘in the interest of peace to dictate terms to the weakened belligerents’. This would not happen. France was easily defeated by the Nazis and Britain could not find the way to bring troops to the European mainland. The war came to the USSR without the imperialists being weakened. The Nazis attacked the USSR as expected. The Soviets fought valiantly against the Nazis, losing over 26 million Soviet citizens in the long war that eventually destroyed the Nazi war machine.
It was the Soviet Union that saved the world from Nazism. It was Soviet armies that liberated most of the Nazi concentration camps, and it was the Soviet armies that entered Berlin and ended the war. General Dwight Eisenhower, the leading American soldier in the European sector, recalled his journey into the Eastern front after the end of the war, ‘When we flew into Russia in 1945, I did not see a house standing between the western borders of the country and the area around Moscow. Through this overrun region, Marshal Zhukov told me, so many numbers of women, children and old men and been killed that the Russian Government would never be able to estimate the total.’

I looooooooove the chris x wife! reader fic that you wrote!! It got me kicking my feet and blushing 😊 By any chance, could you write a chris x wife! reader going on their honeymoon?
Awww this is such a cute idea, thank you so much, I’m so happy to hear that you loved the last one! ⋆˙⟡♡  I had to get something out on the man’s birthday as soon as I could and this request was the one I was fixated on finishing the most, so do enjoy reading and McLean’s bday ~💗!
CHRIS MCLEAN X WIFE! READER ON HONEYMOON HEADCANONS
Tumblr media
Most newly wed couples go to just one location for their honeymoon.
Yet it was very poor of you to think that standard would apply to Chris.
You didn’t realise until he informed you that you were gonna go to two countries per continent(apart from Antartica, cuz what the hell): Barbados and Costa Rica for North America, Brazil and Colombia for South America, France and Italy for Europe, Thailand and (The) Philippines for Asia, Morocco and Tunisia for Africa, French Polynesia and Australia for Oceania.
The only reason why Chris cut it to two instead of four was because he suspected you would get sick of travelling, and didn’t want you to be complaining on holiday.
“Chriiis, we don’t need to, you know!” you’re verbal about your humble take on the honeymoon as Chris made his long list based on the notes he wrote from his and your opinions,“This is all so costly! We could really go to two continents instead!”
“Huh?” he looks at you, confusion scratching into the space between his eyebrows,“(Y/N), this is literally nothing. You seriously wanna spend our whole two months of celebrating marriage in one place like working class people?”
Harsh, but it’s fine because it’s Chris.
Before you left, he took you on a massive shopping spree where it had not even been the beginning of him pampering you with all the jewellery, the swimsuits and the candies.
This guy doesn’t need to book reservations: the best hotels, air BNBs, holiday homes, you name the one you want to stay at the country and baam. Availability opens a door and charm hands over the keys.
He also hired a chaperone for each country, but most of the time, only for the arrival and departure; he wanted more alone time with you.
At this rate, you wondered if he needed to pay to enter the countries asides from paying the fuel and landing runway.
That’s right. You were getting there by his jet -he ended up upgrading- to each location.
Since it wasn’t meant to carry fifteen contestants this time, Chris abolished the loser and first class section in the new version of his plane to be furnished completely into his headquarters.
During each jet ride, you and Chris would review helpful phrases and attractions that would enhance the experience.
“So in France, we will have to remember to say “bonsoir” from 6 PM onwards.” you reiterate.
“That’s doable.” Chris comments, leaning back in his chair.
“And they don’t like smiling a lot.” you add, doing it yourself.
His relaxation ended,“Bummer. D’you think they can make an exception for me? My resting face is a smile.”
They did- in every place.
The honeymoon was an epoch for Chris to meet his fans from all over the world. If you had a dollar for every autograph he signed the entire getaway, you would have enough money to have your own jet.
Weirdly enough, Chris lost genuine pleasure to greet his global admirers and increasingly rushed the interactions.
“It’s okay to be more attentive to your fans, Chris.” you insist, with your head on his bare body, laying around somewhere on the warm Tunisian beach.
“Nah.” he differs with his hand scrubbing sand on your back,“I came on holiday with you, not them. I couldn’t leave you by yourself.”
Aw. You love your husband,“You’re right. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”
He bought you anything that caught your eye. Clothes, hats, rings, ice cream, souvenirs.
Chris had also bought five cameras. He wasn’t letting a single moment of a scenery or pose go to waste.
Be prepared for the day when he eventually gets them all printed out and stuck in fresh albums and wants to reminisce with you.
He took you to the best restaurants, never settling for one less than five stars (maybe four if you persuaded him enough).
“To another exceptional night of our honeymoon!” he raises his glass of happiness.
You copy, both clinking and declaring cheers.
Going back to your accommodation, Chris would have you carried until the first descent onto the fine duvets.
Let’s just say that, by the time you do get back to Canada, both husband and wife’s necks have never been more wine red.

Hey, i love your work and i hope you 're a having a great day💞 I have a request if it's okay, i was thinking maybe something with Anto and his girlfriend/wife is argentinian maybe related to Messi and some tension during the WC finale.
Or another idea where they are experiencing some cultural differences. Maybe her showing something from her culture to his family.
Thank you💞 💞💞
Conflicted -Antoine Griezmann (x Messi!Reader)
Summary: Your French husband is at the final of the World Cup but so is your Argentinian brother, Lionel.
Tumblr media
You were the happiest when you saw Argentina beat Croatia 3-0 and with a goal, even though it was a penalty, of your brother, Lionel Messi. You were in your hotel room with your husband, Antoine, with the Messi 10 shirt on, when that happened. He had laughed when you threw yourself at him kissing him in your celebration form.
Antoine obviously welcomed your kiss and loved the attention.
You never thought too deeply into it but you started doing it when you saw that France was beating Morocco.
It was such a hard decision for you now. You were born in Argentina, you were proud of being Argentinian and you obviously wanted for your country to win, but on the other side you had your French husband.
He had already won a WC but you were also waiting for him to win another one, he had worked so hard for this, he deserved it, he also wanted to make his country proud once more and you wanted to be there for him.
So that's how you came into the place you were being now, sat in the French side with your Argentina shirt on but a French flag tied around your neck. People were whispering at the fact of the blue and white striped shirt on the dark blue side but whoever knew Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann knew that you were sister of the first one and wife of the latest.
You were feeling funny today, you knew that at the end of the day you'd feel happy and sad at the same time however the result will be. Happy for your husband and sad for your brother and country if France wins or Sad for your husband and happy for your brother and country if Argentina wins. By the end of the day, you'll be destroyed by the social media either way.
Good thing was that you learned to not give a single shit of what people said about you on social media.
Antoine's parents and the French WAG's were understanding your position. Of course, you can imagine they feel a little betrayed but they also knew your good intentions and the fact that you wished both teams the best of luck.
"Stop stressing so much about it" Antoine had said before arriving at the stadium
You were laughing at that right now.
First half passed and Argentina was already winning 2-0, you didn't celebrated the goals made by your older brother and by Angel Di Maria... And you were also not going to celebrate France's goals.
If they scored seeing as they weren't going to do it.
Your breathe hitched everytime the ball moved from Argentina to France territory and from France to Argentina territory. This was the world's best and worst final for you.
The amount of times your stomach was tied in a knot were uncountable.
It was worse when Kylian at minutes 80' and 81' did a doublet. It was tied and both of them heading into the extra time.
At this rate you wanted to throw up. You felt the looks of the whole stadium on you, even if they were on the pitch. You felt the whispers of both countries hit on your back.
At 108' Lionel scored and ten minutes later Kylian scored too. Fucking penalties. They were heading into the penalties. Everything could happen now.
4-2, was the end result. You cried for both happiness and sadness. You couldn't see Antoine's sad face and you could imagine your brother's happiness for finally winning a WC.
After a few minutes you bolted out of the French stands and got into the pitch, both teams still there along with the family of the Argentinians.
You showed your pass and security let you in.
Your eyes scanned the whole stadium searching for the brunette of your brother and the blonde of your husband, after what felt ages looking and looking around; you finally saw them both, hugging each other. You ran towards them and finally crushed both of them in a hug
You heard both of their laughs and felt their arms wrap around you
"This past three hours were absolutely hell for me" You admitted "I'm sorry and congrats, both of you" You spoke
"Don't worry, hermanita. We understand it" Your brother spoke first "Still, thank you for the support"
"I love you both so much" You said crying "And please known I'm happy and sad at the same time. This wasn't easy"
"We known it wasn't" Antoine whispered leaving a kiss on your cheek "We thank you for putting up with it, tho" You pulled away from them kissing Antoine's lips quickly and then your brother's cheek, hugging them once more
You guess, it was your country's time. It was your brother's time. Last time you were in the French side, cheering for them and celebrating with them on their win. Now, you'll also be there but with your people. Your latina people, you'd still celebrate it.
You were hurt for your brother back in 2018, now you are hurt for your husband in 2022.
Still, you loved the fact they respected each other, both of them understanding each others position. You went to your mom hugging her tightly feeling the excitement of your fellow Argentinians, you hugged your sister-in-law and your nephews.
You hugged Angel, Rodrigo, el Dibu, Dybala, Julián and every single one of the team congratulating them and even kissing the throphy your brother put up to your lips, laughing with him.
After a while, you escaped from them and went towards your French people. The first one you hugged was Lloris, the greatest captain ever, you kissed his cheek and congratulated him for the amazing job he had done, you then went to Varane, Olivier, Théo, Kylian, Koundé, Ousmane and the rest of them, leaving last your husband who was slightly behind them watching your brother with the Cup.
You went to him, hugged your husband and kissed him once more
"I'm so proud of you, I love you so much, I'm sorry and congratulations" His arms tightened around you
"Thank you, chérie" He smiled at you "Go and have fun with them" You shook your head
"I can't have fun knowing my husband is feeling sad, I know it's a normal thing right now but I just can't. I already feeling like I'm betraying both of you"
"You aren't. You're happy your brother and country got another Cup"
"But I'm also sad and destroyed because my husband and his country lost" You shook your head "I'm feeling everything a persona can feel" He laughed lightly
"That's not healthy for the baby, you know it" Antoine's hands went to your barely shown stomach, you were four months into pregnancy and not many people knew about it
"Well, I can't exactly help it. This baby will be in the middle next WC just like his momma is"
"I'm sorry"
"Don't be" You kissed his once more before feeling a weight on your shoulder "Merde!"
"¿Cómo que merde? ¿Qué sos vos argentina o francesa, boluda?" Your brother's voice made you and Antoine laugh "Venga, que mamá quiere una foto de todos" You nod
"I can take it if you want" Anto offered as Leo laughed
"Mamá dijo todos, vos también estás incluido. Somos familia"
After a few photos and some easing things from your family's part to Antoine, they were having a good time. Not the exactly best or they were fully partying like you knew they would, for Anto's feelings and respect but you loved it and were feeling now happy seeing that despite the differences they were able to push them aside.
Football is football but family is first.
Those two were your champions- your world champions and you couldn't help but think your third one was also on its way.
