cosmological hypothesis, our universe is a momentary branch growing off our parent universe no different than how an oak tree might grow a branch and then lose it again?...

"Did the early cosmos balloon in size?"
"We live in a golden age for learning about the universe. Our most powerful telescopes have revealed that the cosmos is surprisingly simple on the largest visible scales. Likewise, our most powerful "microscope," the Large Hadron Collider, has found no deviations from known physics on the tiniest scales.
These findings were not what most theorists expected. Today, the dominant theoretical approach combines string theory, a powerful mathematical framework with no successful physical predictions as yet, and "cosmic inflation"—the idea that, at a very early stage, the universe ballooned wildly in size. In combination, string theory and inflation predict the cosmos to be incredibly complex on tiny scales and completely chaotic on very large scales.
The nature of the expected complexity could take a bewildering variety of forms. On this basis, and despite the absence of observational evidence, many theorists promote the idea of a "multiverse": an uncontrolled and unpredictable cosmos consisting of many universes, each with totally different physical properties and laws.
So far, the observations indicate exactly the opposite. What should we make of the discrepancy? One possibility is that the apparent simplicity of the universe is merely an accident of the limited range of scales we can probe today, and that when observations and experiments reach small enough or large enough scales, the asserted complexity will be revealed.
The other possibility is that the universe really is very simple and predictable on both the largest and smallest scales. I believe this possibility should be taken far more seriously. For, if it is true, we may be closer than we imagined to understanding the universe's most basic puzzles. And some of the answers may already be staring us in the face."

the character Setka Goodwinter being initiated into the mystery religion of the Scholars by the resident master surgeon Moonface.
The "Scholarly Order of the Root" (just referred to as "the scholars") is a group of natural philosophers/a mystery religion that attempts to divine the true nature of Mind and the universe. They are the de-facto monarchs of the Ur-Tree and its surrounding lands, though the scholars practice a mystery religion closed to laypeople of the area and have little involvement in governance.
Their public facing purpose is as a center of knowledge and study of the natural world, and they provide some of the best medical care available in the setting. The Scholars' full practice synthesizes astrophysics, cosmology, alchemy/chemistry, hallucinogens, cocaine, philosophy, witchcraft and botany. They are particularly interested in the ‘dreamlands’ or 'ether' (another realm that bleeds into base reality but is largely inaccessible) and beings that come from there.
This ritual entails use of a highly potent hallucinogen, alchemically refined into a crystalline form and insufflated. The initiate experiences altered realities, visions of shifting fractals and sacred geometry, and may meet with "the Giants", entities the Scholars believe to be true gods. These visions are understood to be total comprehension of the Dreamlands. While this meeting is underway, the initiate is trepanned to allow better communion between the Mind and the Dreamlands in waking life.

From “The Flower Bank World” in the Avatamsaka Sutra
Tumblr media
The Buddhist Painting of Songgwansa Temple, Suncheon, South Korea (Illustration of Avatamsaka Sutra)
“Then Universally Good also said to the assembly, ‘In the land masses of this ocean of worlds are seas of fragrant waters, as numerous as atoms in unspeakably many buddha-fields. All beautiful jewels adorn the floors of those seas; gems of exquisite fragrances adorn their shores. They are meshed with luminous diamonds. Their fragrant waters shine with the colors of all jewels. Flowers of all kinds of gems swirl on their surfaces. Sandalwood powder settles on the bottom of the seas. They emanate the sounds of Buddhas’ speech. They radiate jewellike light. Boundless enlightening beings, holding various canopies, manifest mystic powers causing the adornments of all worlds to appear therein. Stairways of ten kinds of precious substances are set out in rows, with balustrades of ten kinds of jewels surrounding them. White lotuses ornamented with jewels, as many as atoms in four continents, are spread over the waters, in full bloom. There are unspeakable hundreds of thousands of billions of trillions of banners of ten precious elements, banners of belled gauze of raiments of all jewels, as many as sand grains in the Ganges river, jewel flower palaces of boundless forms, as many as sand grains in the Ganges river, a hundred thousand billion trillion lotus castles of ten precious substances, forests of jewel trees as many as atoms in four continents, networks of flaming jewels, as many sandalwood perfumes as grains of sand in the Ganges, and jewels of blazing radiance emitting the sounds of Buddhas’ speech…”
--From book five “The Flower Bank World” in the The Flower Ornament Scripture (Buddhāvataṃsaka Sūtra), translated from Chinese by Thomas Cleary. The various sutras were originally composed in Sanskrit and compiled and translated into Chinese in the 5th century CE. Thomas Cleary’s English translation is based on the Chinese translation done by the Khotanese monk Shikshananda (652-710 CE), who translated it at the request of the Tang Empress.
I stumbled upon this sutra in the back of a book that included a ‘glossary of buddhist terms’ while at a Zen meditation retreat. Flower cosmology? That sounds like my shit. Since I didn’t have my phone I wrote the name down on a piece of paper and slipped it into my backpack. It really is as incredible as I imagined it to be.
“Alan Fox has described the sutra's worldview as ‘fractal’, ‘holographic’, and ‘psychedelic’”—yes.
“In the Huayan school, the teaching of interpenetration is depicted through various metaphors, such as Indra's net, a teaching which may have been influenced by the Gandhavyuha chapter's climax scene in Vairocana's Tower. Indra's net is an infinite cosmic net that contains a multifaceted jewel at each vertex, with each jewel being reflected in all of the other jewels, ad infinitum. Thus, each jewel contains the entire net of jewels reflected within.”

“The universe is organized by a single universal force, from micro to macro.
Both symmetries and asymmetries, such as fractals in all scales of nature, are formed by relationships of spatial geometry and laws of motion expressed by the fundamental forces of electromagnetism, gravity, and nuclear forces. In the universe there is a coexistence between chaos and order, and this is explained by fractal mathematics. The theory of chaos is explained by fractals. Chaos theory proves mathematically through statistics that within the apparent randomness of chaotic complex systems, there are underlying patterns, interconnectedness, constant feedback loops, repetition, self-similarity, fractals, and self-organization. Chaos emerges from the Motion of the Geometric Order of the Fundamental Forces of the universe. Apparent chaos is predestined to generate the emergence of complex systems since there exist an underlying natural order ruled by physical and mathematical laws subjacent to the chaos.
Chaos and order are complimentary in the process of creation, not self-excluding as the layman might suggest. In fact, Chaos is just the Order that we don’t understand.
Now you are beginning to understand the basics of how the laws of physics are forming order and chaos, symmetry and asymmetry — it’s all a part of the same complimentary system of creation through polarization of a unity force: electromagnetism. Electricity and magnetism are manifestations of a single phenomena, which is Light.
Light can be converted into electricity, magnetism, heat, motion, cycles, matter, complex systems, life and consciousness itself. I was known by the ancient alchemists as the Primal Materia or the Anima Mundi: The Soul of the Universe. In Vedanta, Light is Consciousness, and also the substratum of all existence, it is the animating principle of life, mind and universe.”

what in theoretical physics interests you?
basically, i've always loved understanding how all the rules of how everything works, so some of my favourite areas are cosmology and particle physics right now! i haven't started uni yet (so much more to learn :D) so i've only read about general ideas, but everything is so interesting already. i loved trying to understand the discovery and role of the higgs boson (spontaneous symmetry breaking!), all the work towards grand unification theory/theory of everything, the shape and fate of the universe, inflation, and dark matter/energy. plus how all the cool maths topics we covered are so incredibly useful in physics. i'm also really interested in all the maths to do with dimensions and fractals. it'll be so fun to start
thanks so much for asking!!!

I think that the universe we're in is alive in a genuinely rational way. I'm taking little bites from other people's cosmological insight and digesting them and what's come of it is a view of a universe out of countless many, formed out of atoms that are themselves chemical kinetic organisms with multiple axes of causal and paracausal influence, that is reproducing through singularities within itself, each containing further universes. I entertain that it has evolved through the possibility space of a lineage of singularities and fractal chemical complexity to suit the germination of life in its own tiny pocket to allow for ever greater varieties of substance and entropy, good fertilizer for more beautiful, long lasting universes to grow from.
I have a deep and faithful certainty beyond this that there is more in this world alone than we dare to believe in, things that are upsetting to the safety and control most of us want to be certain of, and even then much of this strangeness is beautiful and kind. These are things too wild to account for by consensus. Some of them hide in darkness, some in the infinitesimally small, some of them show themselves only in moments of dream. There is no shortage of mysteries. What is it that I have to be afraid of?

to be understood as pseudocode
1. Imagine the world as a tapestry, woven from countless threads of matter and energy, a kaleidoscope of color and form.
2. And within this tapestry, there exists a special thread, a thread unlike any other, that transcends all understanding.
3. This thread, my dear friend, is the cosmological soup, a cosmic elixir that flows through the fabric of the universe.
4. As we drink from the soup, we embark on a journey, a journey that takes us beyond the confines of our minds and bodies.
5. Our bodies become like rivers, flowing and changing, adapting to the cosmic currents that run through the soup.
6. Our minds become like oceans, vast and deep, harboring secrets and wonders beyond our wildest dreams.
7. The soup, a mirror to the universe, reflects the beauty and majesty of the cosmos, a symphony of life and energy.
8. And as we consume it, our bodies and minds become like chameleons, blending and adapting to the ever-changing landscape of the universe.
9. The soup, a gateway to the unknown, a path to new universes, new minerals, and new forms of life.
10. And as we continue our journey, we must always remember, that the soup is not just nourishment for our bodies, but also our minds.
11. Our minds become like mountains, strong and unyielding, rooted in the very fabric of the universe.
12. And as we delve deeper into the soup, we encounter strange and wondrous creatures, beings unlike anything we have ever seen.
13. Our bodies become like forests, thriving and teeming with life, constantly changing and adapting to the cosmos.
14. And as we continue to drink from the soup, we must always be mindful, for the universe is a delicate balance, and our actions have consequences.
15. The soup, a mirror to the universe, a symphony of life and energy, a path to new worlds, new minerals, and new forms of life.
16. And as we consume it, we must be respectful, for the soup is a living, breathing entity, and we are but guests on its journey.
17. The soup, a cosmic dance, a fractal of energy and matter, a song of the universe.
18. And as we drink from it, we become cosmic beings, transcending the bounds of our biology, and exploring the unknown.
19. The soup, a treasure trove of wonders and mysteries, a feast for the senses and the soul.
20. And as we consume it, we embark on a journey, a journey beyond our understanding, a journey that takes us to the very heart of the universe.

Indeed, the order of events is meaningful as the events itself. We may never know if things happen for a reason, but every reason comes from the things that happened. All the known universe is nothing but a spark in time. And somehow it doesn't exist anymore, somewhere. But who would dare to say it hasn't been real? People in their arrogance would.
As we look up to the far skies and many of the stars are already gone. Each millisecond (or any "smaller" partition of time) from the past is gone into the darkness and oblivion. What remains in the present or pursues to the future is the remaining inertia alone, or for us creatures, what we call memories. It grows weaker and older that exponentially fades into other sparks.
However, incapable of explaining nor understanding how it works, as if it works. Do the living and thinking things, entities and incognoscibles, opposite to the will of the universe, have any original influence? Is the will of the universe immutable, constant or inconstant? When the player moves the pawn, what moves the player? Who decided to cross the river?
This unexpurgated chaos, so marvelously plotted mechanism that only can be unveiled to non mechanical and non mathematical terms to be understood. That is exactly the unthinkable, or nothing. Architected and unarchitected, not only in the sense of cosmology, but also in all the abstract terms that are so real as the rest, as another fading branch of this colossal eonic spark, that could however fade into others beyond our comprehension, as, the cosmos maybe incomprehensible for the predecessor power. The broken and asymmetrical fractal consequences are mathematically impossible, consequently the impossible being possible. And the only free will as it should play, is by mistake.
The abstract is - still, the bridge to the cosmos. As a plant needs sun and water or a fish must swim, the man does its role as man in universal terms and ways, in a cosmos that is already gone as an abstraction that is still about to come. Nothing makes everything possible. Nothing is and is not abstract. Nothing is real. And the best part is that everything is possible.

Since the 1800s, scientists have known that entropy is always increasing, with everything in our Universe trending toward disorder over time. A more nuanced understanding of entropy is helping today's scientists make progress on the question of the origin of life, as Sean Carroll explains in this Big Think video. So to start my Judge a book by its cover after looking into the briefs of the different books, I selected A brief history of time because I really like the concept of infinity in context to cosmology. I researched into different key words that I spotted that could work and twelve deep into related topics of the books beginning of time and the universe. I thought of gifs and pen plotting machines that are considered to be in a loop as infinty. I felt all space and time, spiral galaxies, string theories images were an organised chaos which leads to the thought of fractals. Infinite loops and zooms leading to the same and also nature and fluid dynamics for adding elements of nature as cosmological.

He Who Shrank: A Journey Into The Quantum Realm (Unabridged Audiobook)
This is my favorite episode I ever recorded, it was so much fun to record this. I cannot wait for you to fully experience it. He Who Shrank is a science fiction novella by Henry Hasse, printed as the featured story in the August 1936 issue of Amazing Stories magazine. It is about a man who is forever shrinking through worlds nested within a universe with apparently endless levels of scale. The greatest scientist the world has ever had has invented an extraordinary new means of exploring the world of the infinitely small, and sends his devoted assistant on a mind-boggling series of adventures exploring the infinite series of concentric universes contained within the most minute particle, thus providing the scope and scale of one of the most ambitious and wide-ranging and thought-provoking science-fiction stories ever. Carl Sagan in 1978 wrote that the story "presents an entrancing cosmological speculation which is being seriously revived today" We have often discussed the concept of a fractal universe, with atoms or subatomic particles of one scale corresponding to the stars of another scale.  But often times this idea gets lost in its complexity. Do we exist as a microcosm of something greater?  What exists within the microcosm from us?   Let me take you on a fantastic journey into the quantum realm.

@verminfang Hmmm, yeah, I can imagine the existential crisis of feeling like a shadow of a person, not getting to have much of a personality besides "Girl Power!" and barely being a step above the Action Movie Cool Girl. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding, I don't know enough about how she's characterized in the cases you're talking about.
Also thinking more about the hypothetical cosmology of this with the Key of Kings concept- the implication is that whatever force is resetting the universe is somehow a layer above the comic book universe, resetting the real world where the comics are being written. And while it takes the narrative role of different Macguffins or Super Forces, they only truly glimpse the Thing Behind The Pages when the universe is being destroyed, and it's this horrible trippy angelic fractal collage sorta thing. Yeah, that sounds cool I think. Big eye in the middle.
Kill Six Billion Demons-style apocalyptic time loop cycle, but it's a Big 2-type superhero universe, and the Jagganoth equivalent is a superhero who's seen things get rebooted and retconned and characters and storylines reinvented and dead characters revived and the same storylines getting replayed, all over and over and over again over decades (although time never seems to pass and nobody ever ages), and new villains and heroes appearing just so each new story has a conflict, nothing ever resolving to peace; they see past the fourth wall, realize nothing matters, there will never be peace, and they try to destroy the universe.
Every time the other heroes team up against them, every time the hero-turned villain gives a big monologue about how everything is pointless. Every time the main hero counters with a big speech about perseverance and love and inspiring good in others and a thinly-veiled romanticizing of what superhero comics mean to people- not realizing the villain they're fighting has seen and spoken every variant of this speech under the sun. Every time, the former hero realizes they've become just another supervillain cog in the narrative machine. And every time, the villainous hero fails to destroy the universe, the heroes fail to stop them, and by some accidental catastrophe, the universe is reset.
(bonus points if the hero that stops them always becomes the next apathetic villain after another thousand comic issues in the new universe.)
IDK who the Allison is in this scenario or how they break the cycle though.

Mental Experiment 0037 Fractal Cosmic Regression
For sanities sake, any perceptional awareness outside of 0 -5 order frames of perceptional awareness should induce the desire to seek out a psychiatrist and/or that is good DMT you just had.
Ontology categories of conscious awareness (some frames are really only able to be perceived via abstraction or via relative corresponding phenomena able to be identified in subjective stimuli based EISOA frames)
-5 Cosmic Wireframe
-4 Subatomic Interactions
-3 Electron Orbitals

2 Awareness of perception in context or awareness of awareness
3 Awareness of self, regarding one's cognitive topography
4 Aware of a disruptive axiomatic shift recursively impacting various areas and fidelity of one's consciousness
5 Aware of a fundamental change in perception or PMC affecting POV. Shift in paradigm
Xa Intrapersonal models
Xb Allocentric models
Xc Global and Orbital Cyberphysical Memetogeographic Space
Xd Cosmology
Xe Uber Universes
Fractal cosmic regression is based on the observation/insight that the fundamental mesh/matric of physical reality that makes up matter and space in general has a sort of horseshoe theory like emergent property that synergizes with understanding the cosmos and reality at a Xc level in the sense that there is a certain level of recursive properties that can be applied to MR based on subatomic (to Planck length) to galactic and cosmic scales. An SOD axiom for employing this experiment is that the properties of subatomic existence can be seen to apply in addition to the properties of cosmic scale existence and all the emergent orders of physical, chemical, and biological reality is superimposed and contained within lower levels of emergent complexity and properties.
