Okay so, first of all, thankyou, ily. You don't know how I absolutely adore you for Trouvaille. That fic is literally my comfort fic, and I love the way you've crafted every single thing in it. Like?? The wording is amazing, the characters, the way you focus on every single one of them, the perfect pace, Y/n's friends and family, the emotions, the goofy scenes, the angst, the character building — the whole damn book; everything feels so real, so perfect??? You're legit my favourite author, and recently, after reading the chapters I read one of the non-fanfiction, published books I have and it felt like your way with words and pace was so much better than even those (talking about Percy Jackson and agggtm here, but I still love them!) 😭😭 Thankyou so much

Also, I just caught up with the latest update after days of binge reading, so happy, but then I found out that Trouvaille will go to a hiatus after like two chapters? 🥲 That's fine though, you MUST take your time. I think the drabbles and rereading would be enough for this, anyway time's passing in such a hurry these days. Can't wait for Sanctity though 😭🤍

Omg... you're definitely appealing to my ego fjdksafd I loveeee Percy Jackson so much, and I'd say Rick Riordan has a fantastic ability to juggle SO MANY characters with unique personalities in his novels so he is definitely an inspiration for the characterization in Trouvaille (and my new fic I'm working on!)

I feel you though bestie!!! Books have been letting me down lately 😭 The last series I finished was A Court of Roses and Thorns (I know... v basic 💀) and it was like. Meh? It was fine but not my fave. Sometimes books just feel churned out in that particular genre, idk. HOWEVERRR I've been into historical fiction lately and I think that can be very refreshing!! Pachinko is an amazzzzing book I've read recently, I definitely recommend!

SO the hiatus is not totally set in stone! Depending on how chapter 20 goes, and if I successfully tie up the current arcs, then yes I will put it on hiatus for a few months, likely until December, to work on my new vampire fic. Truthfully, as much as I ADORE writing Trouvaille, I've been writing it non-stop for a little over two years now-- I think I need some time away to gather more inspiration. Not to worry though! During the hiatus, I have a list of drabble requests for Trouvaille, the new fic on the way, and I'll also be working on the first Trouvaille prequel: for Hoseok ❤️ I love you so much and thank you for sending me such sweet, loving words!! 💜💕

in spirit a semi-continuation of yesterday's insane word dump: in fact the long story short before spock drags bones to jim is bones breaking down in front of spock when spock tries to bring him to jim, spock being very worried because the logical solution to him is to make them talk and he doesn't understand why bones is so desperately, vehemently against the idea of talking to jim at the moment. ("Doctor- Leonard, might I ask, are you opposed to conversing with Jim indefinitely, or temporarily?") and they talk and he begins to understand that bones needs time to adjust and to heal (in the sense that you're supposed to adjust to food in small portions after a period of starvation, bones needs time to adjust to knowing that spock (and jim, too, but he can't make himself believe it at the moment) care for him as much as he does them).

personally about aos jim vs tos jim (solely based off of vibes and whatever i've picked up from absolutely barrelling through the trek tags on ao3 every few weeks): in my head tos jim is much more in touch with the emotional needs of the people he's closest with and he's very good at wading through the hangups or navigating the boundaries of the rest of the triumvirate, while aos jim is very >:333 and he's got that bright-eyed, bushy-tailed sort of enthusiasm about everything that catches his eye and that results in him being less attuned to other people's unspoken emotional needs. and to expand on this i strongly headcanon that aos spock in fact takes on tos jim's emotional attunement more quickly than aos jim himself (partially because it is incredibly interesting but also it makes so much sense in my head. seriously when i have more brain juice ill yell about it more) LIKE. for aos spock and bones, they get each other on an emotional level and it scares the hell out of both of them but they make it work incredibly well.

It's interesting how the themes of love and duty are presented in the histories of two characters who couldn't be more different from one another: the last hero and the Night's King. When presented with the choice of doing your duty or loving, the answer seems obvious—do our duty to the end, for it seems like the right thing to do. Maybe you'll even be rewarded for it. But then the last hero and the Night's King present a grey area. The Night's King followed his desire and the result was a tarnished reputation and his name being blotted out of history for all eternity. He was punished for it. So you'd think that the last hero, having done the opposite and followed his duty to the end, would fare better. But his name has been blotted out of history as well! He picked the "right" thing, but his reward is uncertain; almost nonexistent. No matter what you do, you lose—well, you lose if your name means something to you. The resulting dichotomy then is fascinating—the Night's King actually feels human where the last hero does not. He loved and he lost, but as old Maester Aemon said, the gods fashioned man to love, and love is sometimes the bane of honor (Ned Stark could tell you as much). Old Nan can speculate on who the Night's King was, but she doesn't even bother to try and name the last hero. Almost like he did his duty and was forgotten as was expected; as he should have been. And that's a sad state of affairs. Dehumanization vs a tarnished reputation.....I don't really know if the choice is all that clear tbh :/
