other times it's a loud, growling beast, whisking through the forest, catching prey and wearing the blood proudly on my muzzle.

sometimes, it's wearing a tail and collar in public, or making theta-delta buttons to give to my friends.

it's all still me, and it's all still valid.

🦴 ! There’s an assumption that all physical therians / holothere identify as an animal on a physical level due to autism, psychosis or due to forming an animal alter.

🐾 ! However, I rarely see people discuss how other aspects of mental health influence their animal identity. In my personal experience, I think that my obsessive compulsions and intrusive thoughts are a rather large part of my identity as a physical therian.

♟️ ! I struggle with compulsive skin eating, I have sustained great nerve damage and broken bones from this, however I cannot digest human flesh and often it comes back up shortly after.

🦴 ! I am then frequently met with the urge to feed my regurgitated flesh to my ‘pups’. Whilst I do not have any children or pets, due to hitting sexual maturity at the age of 7, I deal with incredibly overwhelming maternal instincts despite being a man.

🐾 ! I often see others want to discuss the ugly side of therianthropy, the aspects that repulse most other humans, yet outside of mild species dysphoria, I am yet to see more than a handful of creatures discuss these animalistic urges that aren’t ‘tiktok ready’.

♟️! I am a coyote through and through, not just in appearance or connection. I am more coyote than just a fluffy tail or tall ears, I am coyote in my behaviour and real life too.

I love how I'm a wolf out of pure Copium.

I'd been going back and forth between calling myself a therian and an otherlinker. But, after a little while of trying to tell myself that I fit the definition of otherlink so I should use it, I found out it only made my dysphoria worse to points I haven't felt even for my own kintypes.

It's true my otherheartness caused it, and I think it would've caused it eventually anyways. I'm a wolf, therian or not, I'm a wolf. I think that if I didn't settle on being a therian, I would've grown self harming or depressed. Although the therian label sometimes doesn't satisfy the desire of being a wolf. I need to be a wolf down to the core, down to my flesh. I'm aware therian doesn't mean non-physical, but the way I am a wolf is merely mental, it's taught. That makes me really upset.

Now, I know this sounds like I was a wolf therian all along, but I mean it when I knew I wasn't a wolf therian before. I thoroughly went through all wolves when I was first discovering myself because I though it'd be obvious I was one but none felt like me. Even tho I wished I was one.

I partly believe the raise in dysphoria is due to Cyrus, our cohost and my subsystem headmate. Who strongly believes our body isn't human, he is holothere through n true. He says he can see it, just barely. I can only feel it and rarely can I see it , something in our body that doesn't feel human. He's a werewolf (or werehellhound), the source that he came from has a lot of wolf pack dynamic and generally built around wolf stuff...so you can imagine that made my dysphoria worse that I'm not a wolf, but he is. His body doesn't feel like my own when we swap bodies in the headspace. It's frustrating.

Like I've said in my previous rant about this, my other kintypes feel like me down to the core and flesh, I am all of my kintypes inside headspace and I think the body too, just...weirdly. I have vivid phantoms, I have inherent instincts from them. While wolf instincts don't come naturally to me, I've gotta be thinking about it, I've gotta be in the mind of a wolf.

I don't know, I just wish I was a wolf like other therians are, I wish I was a wolf in general and not just a mimic.

This turned out to be really venty, but I feel like maybe another otherhearted who feels like this could see it and know they're not alone in their dysphoria of wanting to be their kith but knowing they are not.
