anyway, have more...idk, niche?? obscure?? idk, these Rewrite headcanons are just random things that range from projection to things i think would be cool for them:
alright...ripping the band-aid off: Toxic Old Man Yaoi (it gets one-sided on William's end after...Y'know) is canon to the Rewrite. alright moving on-
(listen. i wasn't expecting to get into it. I Really Wasn't. and then it grew on me. and then i saw That One Line from the novels where someone stumbled on William's journals and read the parts about Henry and i just kinda went ??? oh so that's an actual line?? holy shit?? because i had seen someone post the line before but i didn't know if it was like. an actual line from the books. oh my lord.)
William wasn't exactly subtle, but unfortunately for him, Henry had the Autism Obliviousness (same here, bestie).
Claire, William's (now dead) wife, was actually aro, and viewed her and William's relationship as some sort of Lavender Marriage, because to her, she gets to raise the kids she wanted, and William gets to be gay for his business partner-
Anna also didn't mind too much, mostly because (unbeknownst to her at the time) she was a lesbian and already didn't really feel that way about Henry to begin with. she was more upset about the fact that Henry was so damn Oblivious.
Henry always struggled with his balance (i'm projecting), but before he got his cane, he'd lean on things for support or hold onto someone. Will would also help him get around by holding his arms or even hands. did i mention Will was not subtle.
William and Henry did Not have good childhoods. it's part of the reason why they're Like That with their own families (Henry being a good dad but a pushover, and William not being physically or verbally abusive, but being emotionally abusive instead because he's That paranoid about screwing up, and then ends up screwing up in another way).
William's obsession with rabbits and hares isn't purely a Special Interest thing (although that is a huge part of it), it's...also kinda partially something that came from some Childhood Trauma stuff, as well as kinda being a therian thing.
speaking of! 4/6 members of the Afton Household have some therian/otherkin shit going on. William is ockin (i don't think this one needs much explanation. like. i think the guy pretty much kins his own oc) and is a hare/rabbit therian. Michael is a dog/fox therian. Elizabeth is also a rabbit/hare therian. Cassidy is plushkin (look. do i even need to explain this one), and it's part of the reason he uses a lot of toy/broken toy metaphors for himself after he dies.
for William, being O'Hare was kind of this...escapism thing. he can be his true, genuine self and he isn't viewed as annoying for it. if anything, people find him lovable. he can be a playful silly hare and he's looked up to for it. but...after he becomes Springtrap, after years of being locked in a back room, stuck in building filled with spirits who either hate or fear him...at some point, William stops pretending he isn't a sadistic monster. it's hard to deny it. and so he doesn't. Springtrap is effectively William fully embracing being O'Hare....but becoming twisted at the same time, if that makes sense.
it's like...imagine you see this rotting green-yellow bunny that CLEARLY has a rotting corpse inside, but it's acting eerily cheerful and treating (checks notes) Chasing You Down With The Intent To Maim And/Or Murder You as a fun game you're both enjoying. yeah, by this point, William kinda Lost It (and by "kinda" i mean He 100% Did)
this is how several Fazbear employees died or Almost died by the way. Fazbear Entertainment owes them so much for therapy, both physical AND mental-
Michael struggles to figure out if he's dealing with Actual paranormal shit or if it's just hallucinations and stuff that he's having out of guilt and grief (USUALLY, it is the former)
Mike once dislocated one of his knees on the school playground back in elementary school (me projecting), and William practically spoiled him rotten during that time. Michael hated it, hated asking his father for help, hated being treated any different. but...with Charlie and his friends, it's like he was perfectly fine asking for help, welcoming of any assistance. oh well! i'm sure there's no deeper meaning to any of that- (something something "Fearing Dependency Yet Also Craving It")
Michael hates the fact he looks so similar to his father.
Jeremy's favorite song is "Mickey" by Toni Basil. take a wild guess why.
William and Cassidy are both technically nonbinary. William never figured it out because he never knew that there Were options besides Man and Woman. probably would've loved it/its pronouns. and neopronouns. Cassidy never figured it out for Obvious Reasons. look, both of them would've loved xenogenders and neopronouns. i honestly believe they would've loved those.
fun fact! Cassidy actually has a lot of similarities to William (of which i am All Too Happy to list. just say the word). uh...don't tell Cass that, though. it'd probably piss him off.
both Charlie and Mike inherited their dads' sexualities, technically (Henry and Charlie are Pan, Will and Mike are Bi).
Everyone's queer and a mess in so many different ways! William, just because you aren't hitting your children doesn't mean that you're a good dad. Stop. Read a parenting book. Actually, don't. I can't imagine 1970s-80s parenting books are that good for all that shit.

Since you asked me about it it’s only fair I give you full reign to ramble about your ocs
HECK YEAH OC RAMBLE TIME WITH GEM
Recently had a dream about a bunch of animals in a band that had to save the world, and so these OCs are a product of that. Don't know if I'm going all in with the concept yet but the idea captivated me enough to motivate me to draw them :D
March O'Hare
Tumblr media
March is a guitarist in the band Stellar Twist, who finds herself wrapped up in the world of stars and magic when she comes across a mysterious girl from space. Making use of super powered instruments, March and her bandmates have been tasked with tracking down the missing Musical Stars before the Void Symphony can get their claws on them!
March is enthusiastic and does her best to keep the mood up in whatever room she's in. She tends to speak without thinking, however, and has a hard time admitting when she's wrong.
March's name is a reference to the March Hare from Alice in Wonderland, and is also the name of my Sonic OC, who is a rabbit as well.
March was the first one I drew because one of the characters I remember most distinctly from my dream was a blue rabbit :D
Frett Reynard
Tumblr media
Frett is a laid-back guy, and the bass player in the band. He's the realist to March's dreamer tendencies, and often has to remind her not to jump headfirst into danger. Frett is down to Earth and will think carefully before he acts. He is more skeptical about magic at first, but gets a handle on it the most easily in the group.
Frett's name is pulled from the fretboard part of a guitar, referencing his main instrument, and his surname is a misspelling of "renard".
He's drawn from the other character I distinctly remember from my dream, a red fox. Since the fox and the rabbit were the characters I remembered best, I decided they'd be the two guitarists in the band.
Pepper Paisley
Tumblr media
March's childhood best friend Pepper is Stellar Twist's keyboardist and main songwriter. She shares a love of performing with March, hence why they started the band. Pepper has connections just about everywhere, and she's friends with Timber and Mel, who she was able to convince to join the band.
Pepper is mature and even-tempered, being the one to keep the group organized and on track. Her responsibility is her superpower, and she is someone the band can rely on to be prepared for most situations.
I had real trouble coming up with Pepper's surname. I settled on Paisley because it sounds nice, and it kind of reflects the shape of the spots on her eyes.
I was also a little hard-pressed choosing the main colour for Pepper. Green might have worked but I liked it better for Timber, and a warm colour like pink doesn't really fit her personality. So, at risk of reminding people of Littlest Pet Shop, I gave her purple. Maybe I'll make the purple spots lilac or something for the sake of differentiating.
Timber Willows
Tumblr media
On top of being Stellar Twist's drummer, Timber runs the band's official social media account. He has a hard time sitting still, and is almost always drumming out a rhythm on whatever hard surface he can find. The way Timber carries himself gives off the vibes of a tough-guy act, but really he's just kind of shy. He's highly empathetic, and can't stand to see anyone upset. He has trouble expressing it verbally, but everyone in the band knows just how much he cares, given that he's a man (cat?) of action and won't hesitate to help others out.
Timber is the reason I found out about the word "Timbre"'s pronunciation. I wanted to give him another musical name, so "Timber" is a play on that. His last name is Willows because I think I'm very funny.
Timber's got one of my favourite designs overall, his little hair puff is just so cute and I wanna ruffle it up ^o^
Mel Rapport
Tumblr media
Mel is an upbeat, tried and true girly girl, though her love of pink and fashion leaves people dismissing her as shallow. Stellar Twist's lead singer and tambourinist also plays the ukulele in her free time. Timber's best friend is a hard worker, and is known as the girl who won't say anything bad about anyone. She comes on as sugary sweet, and tries hard to see the good in everybody. However, this dedication to looking at the bright side can easily slide into naivete: she's often loyal to a fault.
Mel is short for "Melody", because I just can't resist the music themed names apparently. Her surname, Rapport, is a reference to the fact that she's supposed to be a golden retriever.
Mel's overall look is pulled from a little dog doodle I did a while back. I just loved the look of the ears and wanted to replicate it here. Unfortunately I don't have that notebook with me, otherwise I'd be more than happy to show that doodle off.
And that's the main group!!! I do have some vague ideas for Nova, the guardian of the Musical Stars, as well as the Void Symphony, but nothing I like enough to actually motivate me to draw designs for yet.
This has been OC Ramble Time with Gem. Tune in next time someone decides to ask about my OCs (in who knows how long).

Ok ok ok I have to tell you my thoughts for Poppy in the AU!!! Ok. I'm not sure if you've seen my post about what her family situation is. Poppy's story in the Fairytale AU does tie in with her relationship with her parents, which isn't good :( I can send you the post if you want.
Poppy is actually not a peasent girl. At least shewasnt born one. Her parents were a lord and lady who wished to climb up the social ladder, and saw their daughter as the perfect opportunity to do so. From giving her lessons in proper etiquette and schooling. And if she didn't meet their expectations, they'd treat her coldly.
Poppy never enjoyed it, but she dealt with it. Thinking that it was just her position in life. That is, until her parents decided to try to set her up with the son of a Duke named Ben Cottontail (who was also an avid gambler, and his parents were desperate to get him married) Poppy wanted to marry for love, and this was all just too much for her. So, after taking some of her family's riches, she ran away with the one she thought truly loved her. A fox by the name of Henry.
Though after Henry broke her heart and took the riches before deserting her, and knowing she could never go back to her parents (I'm thinking they may have even disowned her after going against their wishes and stealing from them), Poppy tried to pick up up the peices of her heart and figure out what to do. With the help of a huntsman, Moony Wolf, she found Jessica's kingdom and made a new life for herself there.
It hurts her so much, but she no longer uses her last name O'Hare, and tries to ignore her past as she pretends she's not the rumored runaway lady. She then finds a job in the castle, and has never been happier. Yes, it's hard work, and she may have to deal with the constant jeering of being a peasent, and ever since that judge came her life has been a living hell. But she couldn't imagine going back to her old life... Perhaps that pink clad Bandit could be the slice of heaven in the Hell that Doom has brought in?
There are more details. Like how Poppy and Moony briefly fell in love, or how Poppy tried to help a recently disowned Ben and give him a chance. But this is all I got for now. I hope you like it! ^^
//This poor wee bunny rabbit oh my god 😥
So really this means Poppy has a Cinderella story arc! Riches to rags to riches again! Also I love how Moony the Wolf is a huntsman here that just works on so many levels. I love how her story coincides with Kitty in that Kitty's pretending to be a runaway royal and Poppy actually is one!

Favorite heist books?
I'm realizing now that I haven't read any of the pure crime fiction books which would be the literary equivalent of the heist movies I love so much, maybe because of my inability to gracefully handle the stress of true thrillers (as I was just saying to sunkentowers). I have read a few especially quality fantasy/sci-fi heists, though! In very loosely most-to-least-strongly-recommended order:
The Palace Job by Patrick Weekes (first of the Rogues of the Republic series. it was a challenge for me to pick a favorite of them, but I think probably this is the one. very funny, very clever, love the characters)
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo (intense and with especially good characters. the sequel Crooked Kingdom is also good but not quite as heist-y)
River of Teeth by Sarah Gailey (hippo-cowboy alternate history! explosive hippo river heist! it does have a sequel but I haven't ever read it)
The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner (my favorite of the Queen's Thief series, though they're all good in their own ways. the main character is sort of in a constant state of con and/or heist behavior)
Artemis by Andy Weir (standalone sci-fi heist! how odd that this is the only standalone novel in my list)
The Heist by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg (romantic comedy suspense thing! first in the Fox and O'Hare series, and the only one I've read)
Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer (easily the best of the series by the same name, and honestly the only one I'd really recommend reading. clever worldbuilding and writing, and the twist is lovely)
Skin Game by Jim Butcher (part of the Dresden Files series and it was such a surprise to me when I found out this one--fifteenth in the series!--was going to break with format and be so heist-centered. I don't think it works as a standalone and I wouldn't necessarily recommend the series as a whole, certainly not if what you're looking for is crime capers, but I enjoyed it so so much and couldn't leave it off)

Stardog! Final name? IDK!
I've updated and finished some new art for my Stardust/Stardog comic! At the moment, I've got world building complete, and my cast of characters complete, all that's left is to start my story!
For now, here's some art! I've updated these two to fit into the updated style of my characters and their portraits, nothing fancy.
The fair Marigold Fox(working name) and the Evil(?) Empress Charmaine Daemona! My background hero and villain!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gene Stardog, our protagonist, along with a couple of taller characters he interacts with often at the Space Academy in SPACE!
Along with him in these pictures is one Jules Razercat, the Amazonian Cat Princess of Mars, and the other would be the chief of police at the academy, the one Tary O'Hare, the fastest law bunny of the Jovian Stars!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lastly, here's an example panel of how I'm considering they look, not a final design, but the art inside is final.
Here's a casual visit from one Marigold Fox to the student apartment of one Nea Cremona, local student and classmate to Gene Dogstar.
Tumblr media
So it is clear, Nea and Gene are near the same height.
That's all for now, currently postponing finishing this work to work on other projects, but when I have more, I'll post an update!

A Chicago family is celebrating how a 40-year-old woman and her coworker were able to survive a violent attempted armed carjacking thanks to the coworker and his firearm.
"If you see all those bullet holes and only one hit my child. That's a miracle," Janice Sims, the mother of Jaquita Sims, who survived the armed attempted carjacking, CBS News reported. "Angels covered her. God covered my daughter. Thank you, Lord."
Early Wednesday morning last week, Jaquita Sims’s car suffered a flat tire as she made her way to O'Hare International Airport amid holiday travel, her mother told the outlet. Her coworker, identified only as a 65-year-old man, offered to give her a lift and picked her up on Chicago’s West Side in his Toyota Corolla.
"It's just sad that a person trying to make a living could almost lose their life just trying to make a living," Sims’ pastor Terrell Stevens told CBS News. "And so those that are out there with gun violence - this is somebody's daughter. You're not just shooting at random targets."
Four men soon approached the Corolla in a silver SUV at about 4:40 a.m., brandishing firearms at Sims and her coworker and demanding they exit the vehicle, CBS News reported.
"I started screaming my coworker’s name out," Jaquita Sims told the Chicago Sun-Times.
A gun fight ensued as the 65-year-old, legally armed coworker pulled out his own gun and used the only five bullets he had to defend himself and Sims, the outlet reported.
"They wanted to carjack them," Janice Sims said. "They just shot the car up maybe 20 times."
The suspects fled, and the 65-year-old drove himself and Sims to a local hospital. Sims suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, while the 65-year-old was grazed by a bullet on his thigh.
2ND AMENDMENT STEPS IN AFTER COPS STEP BACK IN WAKE OF DEFUND MOVEMENT IN CHICAGO
"All I heard was loud noises after that, and my eyes was closed," Jaquita Sims told the Chicago Sun-Times. "I heard [my coworker] kept screaming my name, but I couldn’t answer him."
Police said the coworker had a concealed carry license and a valid firearm owner's identification card for his firearm, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. Police said the coworker fired first, though Sims said the suspects opened fire upon seeing her coworker was armed, according to the outlet.
Both Sims and her coworker have been released from the hospital.
"When I see this car and all the bullets on her side of the car, and she was the passenger, and it's about 20 bullets just on her side," Janice Sims said. "And only one of them hit her, and it didn't kill her. Thank you, Lord."
CHICAGO WOMAN WITH CONCEALED CARRY FIRES AT WOULD-BE CARJACKERS: 'HE LOOK SURPRISED'
Sims’ pastor was joined by strangers and loved ones at West Suburban Medical Center last week in a prayer circle for Sims and her coworker’s health.
"This family has been saved from a funeral, saved from a burial - just saved, saved, saved," a man said in the prayer circle.
Sims’ mom noted that while her daughter was able to survive the violence, another Chicago mother will inevitably answer a more tragic phone call.
"Somebody else's mother is going to get the same call that I got this morning - that their child got shot, by the same people, because the guns are still in their hand," Janice Sims told CBS News. "And they're going to do it again, and we'll never know who they are – 'cause they shoot and they run."
Chicago PD told Fox News Digital on Wednesday that there were no updates on the case and that the investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
Chicago closed out 2023 with a drop in homicides and shootings compared to 2022, according to police data, and returned to pre-pandemic levels. Robberies and car thefts, however, have skyrocketed in the city, jumping by 23% and 37%, respectively, last year compared to 2022, WTTW reported.

I felt inspired, so I'm making this post. And posts for my other OC's after this
Poppy's Family
Tumblr media
(Poppy gets to be first since hers is the most complicated)
Poppy's story isn't really happy. There is a great deal of emotional manipulation and controlling parenting in her story, so proceed with caution.
It's hard to say in all honesty. It all depends on how toons are brought into this world; are they born or made? If toons are made, then technically speaking, Poppy has no family outside of her animator. And she has no relationship with him. Though if toons are born...
Poppy comes from a very strict household. No cousins, no siblings, it was just her and her parents. Her mother, Buttercup O'Hare, and her father, Thumper O'Hare, held high standards for her.
Her mother, in particular, was hard on her, pushing Poppy to be a 'lady of worth' with her education, etiquette, and beliefs. She even taught Poppy how to play the piano (those are Poppy's favorite childhood memories; the instrument was one of the few things she took to easily, and wound up receiving almost nothing but praise for her playing). Her father contributed as well, but he mostly let his wife take charge of this.
When toons started becoming more popular in media, her parents saw this as an opportunity to 'improve' her further by signing her up for acting classes, even though Poppy hated being on stage. She didn't like being the center of attention in general, and her parents thought that they could 'fix it' rather than respect her wishes.
At that point, Poppy was taught to strive for approval. That was why she still tried to become an actress in hopes her parents would be proud. They weren't pleased that she had gotten roles in horror films rather than light hearted cartoons, the genre that toons were most wanted in. But, they still praised her for becoming what they wanted. Which only encouraged Poppy to try to stay in the business, and becoming more miserable in the process.
Eventually though, after having her heart torn in two by a certain fox, Poppy just... Stopped. She refused all offers given to her until the offers stopped coming in, and wouldn't go to auditions. She couldn't bear to be a part of the Hollywood world anymore, and just wanted out, especially after realizing she never had any passion for acting in the first place. Her parents tried guilt tripping her into going back, but for the first time, Poppy stood her ground and refused. She had long since moved out in her own place by then, so she didn't have to worry about being kicked out at least. Though knowing her family didn't support her is a heavy weight on her.
Poppy still keeps in contact with them, though the relationship is strained. It's clear that she only calls once every couple of months because she feels like she has to, not because she wants to. And every call leaves her feeling emotionally exhausted and and torn down.
~
Her family would be similar in the Related Rabbit's timeline. The timeline were she and Roger are cousins. In this timeline, Poppy's father is the unkle Thumper Roger mentioned having (Yes. The one with the 'probate' problem).
The pressure placed on her would be a bit worse. This rabbit family comes from many generations of entertainers, and it is expected of the new generation to continue the tradition. Thumper was already a bit of an outcast in his family and outshined by his brother, so he saw his daughter as a way to make her what he couldn't be.
However, Poppy had proven to be a black sheep herself, with her own interests, and lack thereof for life on stage. Roger, on the other hand, became the golden child with his passion for acting and how he thrived onstage. This only disappointed Poppy's parents further, and they'd often compare her to Roger.
For awhile, Poppy did resent her little cousin when they were kids and didn't want to be around him. Though eventually, after realizing her cousin really is nice and genuinely wanted to be around her, she warmed up to him, and they became the closest members of the family.
Roger was, and is, the only one who fully supported her when she chose to leave the show business. Even with the rift between her and her parents, Poppy is still close to Roger, and became good friends with his wife. Roger does miss her at family reunions, but as long as she's happy, he's happy.
If you guys have any questions, I'll be more than happy to answer them ^^
