FSR Rambles 10 fingers in the aaaaa-
I don't let up on the fucking Vidow. The entire fandom has to just cope with the fact I'm a disastrous weirdo stinking up their perfect pure fandom, they cry themselves to sleep at the cryptid that stalks at the edges their fandom.
Weep you disgusting filthy bastards.
I bet you salivate at the idea of Vio's breast milk in your slutty coffee.
Tumblr media
Lol I guess he fell asleep reading.
Shadow makes a very sinister face considering the goofy ass thing he decides to do with the sleeping Vio.
Tumblr media
Hah. Vio screaming his lungs out got a kick out of me while drawing.
Shadow forgot Hylian's sleep for a reason.
Tumblr media
He's just waiting for Vio to call him a moron, which we know again is because of Vaati and Gannon abusing this poor man.
Tumblr media
Shadow's utterly shocked Vio doesn't have a single thing to berate him over hah.
Vio's so tired he just wants to sleep.
Shadow's feeling nervous to actually like, get cozy with Vio in this context.
Despite his seeming confidence the dude is insecure.
He is HESITANT to trust Vio to some degree, he's having second thoughts about his actions.
Vio didn't even SAY anything about the kiss lmfao. I'd be worried too.
Tumblr media
This page is so sad to me.
Vio's feeling some regret while Shadow gets comfortable next to him.
Tumblr media
HAHAHAHA.
Transition from being next to someone to being completely alone agh-
Shadow Link is in MISSERY-
Tumblr media
Oof. Shit hurts.
The sword blast compiled with his emotional pain is just too much for this dude to handle rn.
Reflecting on his time with his "friend"
Guess that kiss in the library wasn't the last one...Vio seems reluctant to keep going back for more, pushing shadow off. We can assume why he shouldn't be doing that oops.
Tumblr media
Shadow's not satisfied with that though and keeps giving our man kisses. Vio's really shitty attempts to bat him away aren't working.
It's safe to say: Vio lost the plot at some point.
It's obvious they're drunk as fuck, but the exact timing of this scene is up for interpretation as far as I'm concerned.
I do find it funny Shadow whines Vio is "So mean to him" just cause he won't let him shower him with kisses lmfao. Like Shadow he's about to do smth to you that's way meaner let's be real-
Shadow Link brings up the all to important LORE of the golden goddesses.
Tumblr media
Okay but everything about this becomes ironic later lmfao I will not say how.
Cause the Triforce is like, non existent in FS I can do whatever the hell I want sooo I'mma cook. I like where I took it a lot.
Shadow's desires to touch the Triforce are uh...VERY EXPLAINED LATER to say the least.
Art wise in this page: Oh it was so fun.
1st panel: Shadow continuing to kiss Vio's cheeks as he talks. It's sweet in it's own weird way that he clearly cares about Vio a lot
2nd panel: Obviously comparing Vio with a goddess and the Triforce shows how much Shadow values this man in his life, cupping his cheeks while doing so.
3rd panel: They both just look cute. XD
4rth panel: Vio's visibly hesitant to return the kiss that time. and in the last panel we don't see his face, but rather get Shadow hugging him deeply.
Vio's still grappling with his actions are gonna catch up to both of them pretty soon.
Tumblr media
Vio's utter heartlessness in the words he spoke to Shadow in the Fire temple must have HURT.
Shadow knows that he bold faced lied to everyone in that room.
Also to note: They CLEARLY spent some TIME together, as there's the scene of Vio and Shadow laughing together on some grass somewhere...
Shadow KNOWS Vio at least a little and he can't comprehend why he acted the way he did.
The last panel was so much fun I love how it turned out.
Tumblr media
Okay but like: THIS LTIERALLY ALWAYS BOTHERED ME.
The idea Shadow betrayed Vaati being a fault of SHADOW'S character is such bullshit which just adds to the "Vio pulled this out of his ass" nature of his speech.
In every way: SHADOW BETRAYING VAATI IS A GOOD THING.
In WHAT WORLD is him turning his back on the EVIL GUY a bad thing???
His motives were 100% selfish but HOLY BALLS HE WAS WILLING TO GO NUCULAR ON GANON AND VATTI AND SAVE ZELDA FOR SOME VIUSSY. THAT'S DEDICATION.
Also, literally everyone's motivations for everything they do is selfish in nature, so the idea Shadow's the dick here is just, hysterical.
Vio was 100% projecting his own insecurities onto Shadow not trusting and being apart of his own team cause Vio's awful, cause let's be real: their situations are just NOT COMPARABLE.
Shadow's misstep no matter how you look at it, was trusting VIO. NOT betraying Vaati. HIS LITERAL POSITIVE CHARACTER ARC WAS STILL BETRAYING VAATI BY SHATTERING THE DARK MIRROR.
...SO WTF IS VIO'S SPEECH ABOUT EXACTLY??? IT LITERALLY MAKES NO SENSE PROBEBLY BECAUSE HE'S LYING HIS ASS OFF AND PROJECTING LMFAO.
Because his point wasn't "Find a team you CAN and DO trust and work with them." it was "You betrayed Vaati and you suck for that."
IT WAS PURE PROJECTION.
Idk if this is a translation oopsie or what. It was never brought UP so idk if it was even intentional or a genuine attempt at a moral going to shit and getting botched. X'DDDD (If it was intentional, that's funny but it was never expanded upon in any meaningful way so...IDK)
It gives weird as fuck mixed messages about what Shadow was MEANT to do here and what he ACTUALLY did wrong from Vio's chastising. Cause the reason Vio gives for his downfall is REALLY BULLSHIT. (In FSR, Intentionally so.)
Because
"Your downfall was that you were selfish and still wanted to rule the world and were willing to use used people like me and Zelda to do it, you just repeated the mistakes of Vaati" or smth would even be more accurate.
STILL HYPOCRITCAL ON VIO'S END CAUSE HE USED SHADOW BUT WOULD MAKE MORE FUCKING SENSE.
Tumblr media
Giving massive rebound AU vibes here lmfao.
Audience is intentionally left in the dark about wtf Vio and Green were talking about...For no reason I'm sure. Authors don't think that hard about stuff-
Also left out on why they're sharing a bed. Bet that will NEVER get touched on. In ANY meaningful way.
The point of this scene is pretty obvious: Vio IS getting along with his team now. Which mega hurts Shadow to see ouch.
It's the equivalent of that Squidward meme of him in his house while Spongebob and Patrick run outside-
Green essentially has taken his place. Pain. We all know nothing but PAIN.
Shadow can't bare to watch Vio thrive without him cause he's selfish as fuck. X'D Just hurts too much. He wanted Vio to fill the gaps in his life and it just DIDN'T happen.
Tumblr media
Haha you read the manga you recognize this. I don't gotta elaborate much.
I always just, am in love with Shadow turning into VIO of all people during this part in the story because, holy BALLS I can't even really describe the kind of itch that scratches in my brain but I will try.
So in FS, we KNOW Shadow can shapeshift into ANY of the Links, but he chose Vio. Dude has been Green/Link before so...WHY NOT GREEN? Uh simple: Bro adores Vio and looks up to him, that's the reasoning I came to anyway, as explained in these pages.
This is why in FSR in the library Shadow Link specifically describes Vio as "his hero". Vio's the one out of the four he looks up to most, because after reflecting Vio is the one that did the most "Heroic" things in his eyes.
He realized the betrayal wasn't out of malice or to hurt him, but to save Zelda.
The reasons Vio gives in the library for why he's utterly awful as a person are the same things that made Shadow respect his ass for what he put himself through lmfao.
This is also why in FSR dude isn't MAD at Vio for it anymore. He just wants to repair what they DID have there between them because bro adores Vio.
Tumblr media
So if yall didn't know Shadow uses the mirror to see Vio.
Like, you can see him in the shattered mirror lmfao.
At least I THINK it's meant to be Vio. When I first read the manga I thought it was Shadow Link. XDDDD But now I'm fairly certain it is Vio. If we ever get a full color manga I'd love to know who it's actually meant to be.
Shadow's sad he won't know if Zelda's okay. Which is sad. And wishes he could see Vio, which is why the mirror SHOWS Vio. Lol.
Tumblr media
Sad pathetic Vaati being hilarious aside, Vio being so distraught he drops his sword is kinda funny. And here's the retcon of "Vaati didn't die actually.
I already went on the rant in the actual thing that YES Shadow's death still meant smth despite Vaati living, because they wouldn't be able to beat Gannon without the gems Vaati gave up from this, so I won't repeat myself here.
Tumblr media
Blue's "HOLD UR HORSES BITCH" is so funny to me because like, he HAS no emotional attachment to Shadow and the last they saw of HIM was him ya know, trying to kills their friend lmfao.
Vio pulling a very dying Shadow into his arms, because we deserved that. Green picks up Vio's sword cause he's cool like that.
Tumblr media
Vio is OBVIOUSLY trying very hard to keep it together here, kept the dialogue MOSTLY the same from the OG because the dialogue wasn't the issue to me it was the freaking SHOT LAYOUTS AND THE ART. The art was well drawn but the actual like, things happening were kinda silly imo.
I particularly like the return of the "Shadow pets Vio's face/hair" motif.
It pops up in page 40
Tumblr media
and page 77
Tumblr media
And in terms of flashbacks in 169 Yes haha funny number He strokes Vio's cheek before going in for the kiss.
Tumblr media
And many others but I'll avoid too many cause of image limits.
Shadow usually does this when Vio's upset which is funny. We know Shadow does stuff to others he wishes people did for him so maybe Shadow just wants his cheek stroked and to be told nice things lmfao.
Another thing: I mentioned it before but I don't really like when people make Vio cry too easily. Just not for me.
But Shadow dying makes sense for him to cry. Especially in FSR where we saw WAAAAY MORE of their relationship and how involved Vio really was with Shadow.
Vio, reluctantly did really like Shadow Link and is heart broken he is dead.
*I SUPER wanna show/talk about the "After they think they killed him in the fire temple" but there's a reason I did not show wtf Green and Vio were talking about when Shadow saw them in the dark mirror hehehehe. Vio's perspective on RIGHT after they blasted him with the sword is smth you can just speculate on for now.
He is obviously DISTRAUGHT Shadow is dying now.
Tumblr media
So, its' implied Shadow saw some of the things Link was up to before he made himself known. So in my silly FSR comic he could see through Link's Shadow at what he was doing.
Art details:
Red crying at somebody dying just made sense to me it was actually WEIRD to me he didn't cry Shadow died. Not because he's emotionally attached, but dude's just an emotional person he cried at less hah.
Green STEPS UP and says his lines from the manga
Tumblr media
I said in the OG post of the comic my thoughts on these particular panels but like
Green having just a TIIIIINY bit more agency in him holding Shadow's hand, a VERY simple gesture makes all the difference to me in this scene.
Shadow reasonably asks what we were ALL thinking: WHAT ABOUT ZELDA?!
Which OUCH, he didn't feel like he did enough-
To which Green comforts him they WILL save her.
I may ship Vidow to hell and back but Shadow's caring for Zelda and her affect on him is not ignored in this comic lmfao.
It's actually knowing Zelda's in safe hands that makes him comfortable enough to truly pass.
He knows Vio will be okay as he has his team but Zelda is someone he couldn't be sure about.
Tumblr media
So panel 1
I just wanted to add the true level of "Yeah he dead".
Despite his hand passing through Shadow Link, Vio still tries to reach out to him. Which hehe reflects a scene from the very start of this comic huh?
He has unfinished business around Shadow.
He never got to truly say he was sorry.
If you've noticed, Vio STILL hasn't apologized yet.
Tumblr media
Okay thumbnailing this scene genuinely gave me the big sad lmfao.
He missed him by a hair, Shadow's gone and Vio couldn't say all the things that were on his mind.
And since you totally asked:
Page 12 is put into a new perspective huh?
Tumblr media
He reached him this time...
Tumblr media
Green continues to be the goodest of good boys comforting his team mate.
There's an underlying sense of Green knowing more about Vio and Shadow's relationship than the other two...Which makes sense considering Green's the one Vio went to for comfort over the situation.
So some of the dialogue around Shadow's "good boy" status was changed because I just, straight disagree with some of the wording in the manga...
He did AWFUL things but he wasn't exactly a 100% bad person. Ironically, given a chance he could have been a great person. (The opposite of what he tried to do to Vio.)
His nature of being Link's Shadow, the HERO's shadow being on full display with his final moments (Or, what COULD have been his final moments...)
Blue's shocked Shadow would do anything to help them, reasonably so. His experiences with Shadow have been:
He tried to seduce their team mate to the dark side, almost KILLED said team mate, put them through hell and back and generally was awful to them.
Red sympathizes with BLUE (At least somewhat) so I imagine he's a lot more forgiving from this angle to Shadow. XD
Green's feelings about Shadow are a bit more OPEN to interpretation here but he did make an effort for the man to die without regrets. Later in FSR he seems to have a positive outlook on Shadow so whatever Vio told him might have made him more comfortable with him in these moments and the future.
Tumblr media
I'mma cut it off here, which sucks because this transition is PERFECT into the next scene but I don't wanna hit image limits halfway through a rant.
Green continues to be a chad. What's new.
Him being in front of his team protectively is just...Yum. I love protective Green. XD
GANNON APEARS. Big piggy boy. I had no idea I could draw pig before drawing this and I'm happy with how he turned out.
His rant in the OG manga of speaking how Vaati and Shadow Link failed him leads directly into the next scene which was, delicious. But we'll pick this up later.
I'm sure you've noticed: As a time saving technique I only use shading when it SUPER matters in FSR. It helps save time and makes them have huge impacts. XD
The intense dark shading on Ganon makes him look threatening as HELL compared to what he'd look like without it.
For reference: This is what he'd look like without it.
Tumblr media
He looks silly. XD
His color palette was based on the game btw. Because, what else did I have to go on? The intense shading also hides that he looks kinda out of place color wise haha.

ā€œThose awful, ravenous rainbows.ā€
Shadow’s Slime Rancher AU design is finally complete! I may have procrastinated getting it done a little, but ironically he’s the only one whose design I had completely figured out. I can already tell he's going to be a pain to draw more than once lmao.
(Sorry if this one looks wonky, I drew it entirely on my phone instead of sketching on paper like I usually do. It did not make the process any faster sadly.)
I intended for him to have both Tarr inspiration as well as hunter slime, but the bulk of it ended up being Tarr related and the only potential nods are the yellow stripes on his pants and the claws on his gloves. Very impractical, but Shadow doesn't really do the normal ranching stuff anyway.
As always, more details about him below the cut!
+ Shadow was the second person to arrive at the shared ranch, although the gap between his arrival time and Red's was much shorter than the one between him and Vio. As a result, he was still learning the ropes alongside Red for a while. This helped the two bond while also driving Vio slightly (more) insane.
+ While he does find the slimes to be cute, Shadow much prefers the vibe of the Tarr, hence his jacket theming. The others don't really understand his choices, but so long as he doesn't intentionally bring one back to the range, they don't mind it.
+ Everyone had their outfits tailored by Shadow. It's just one of his many miscellaneous unconnected talents. He can also play the piano, speak three different languages, do a perfect split (among other things), and partially keep up with Vio in the lab. Asking about where he learned any of these things gets a wildly different explanation each time.
+ Shadow pays the most attention to the plort market. He goes to the board immediately after breakfast to check what's going on with it for the day, despite the fact he doesn't have any slimes of his own. Depending on what's high value, he'll hunt down whoever has said high-value plorts and let them know it's time to crash the market.
If he doesn't have a stream planned, or has time to spare before one, he'll spend that time helping move plorts where they need to be.
+ Streaming is something Shadow had always been passionate about, but he just wasn't getting any traction back on Earth. It was hard to stand out even with his odd assortment of skills, so that's how he ended up moving to the Far, Far Range. With literally no one else to compete with, he very quickly found success in livestreaming his day-to-day there.
As a nice bonus, he does genuinely enjoy being out on the range. His viewers mostly stick around for him and his wacky roommates at this point, even if a few more streamers have popped up in the area since.
+ One of the first things Shadow ever said to Red was, "Vio is lying. He has more than one," with absolutely zero follow up context. Like, more than one what? Slimes? Plorts?? It took him a bit, but he did figure it out eventually. Green and Blue are still in the dark, but Shadow finds their confusion hilarious, even more so since Vio won't explain either.
+ Pretty much right from the get-go, Shadow was flirting with everyone. The other's always had such funny reactions to it, he wasn't even mad when he caught actual feelings for them. Vio would flirt back harder (which Shadow was not expecting), Red always took a moment to realize he was being flirted with (to which he'd start fumbling through his own attempts before laughing at how silly it sounded), Green would get incredibly embarrassed (Shadow was delighted to find out Green's ears light up too), and Blue similarly got embarrassed (but brushed it off a lot quicker and would usually chase Shadow off).
No surprise, Shadow was the first one to suggest they all date each other. By the time he mentioned it, they were all basically married anyway. All their stuff was merged and it's not like anyone was going to move out. Plus, different pairings kept getting caught doing couply-stuff, might as well make it official.
+ He gets lost most often, to the point where Green constantly has to go out and look for him. It's a running joke on his streams that whenever Shadow tries to show chat something he found in a different direction than he was originally heading, one of the mods needs to start a prediction (point-based betting poll) on whether or not they should call for Green now or later.
Green is attempting to get Vio's help in making a tracker for these specific situations, but negotiations keep falling through.
"You can't make him wear a collar, Vio, that's demeaning."
"It fits his brand. I don't think he'd mind."
"Why's it have to be a collar? Can't it be something less weird?"
"It's symbolic."
"No."
(A collar may or may not actually be added to his design. It can even have a little nameplate on it with instructions on how to deal with the lost little feral cat should anyone find him, because Vio thinks he's funny.)

Can you please do a yandere sukuna x fem reader

Tumblr media
Post format: drabble
Pairing: Yandere! Sukuna x Fem! Reader
Word count: 1.2k
Warnings: abusive household, period-typical misogyny (not from Sukuna), violence, light gore, theft
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Please spare my son!" Your mother cried, a protective hold on your younger brother. "If no one else, please spare his life!" Your father nods ardently, encasing your mother and brother in an embrace.
What a touching sight---for a family of three. Ryomen Sukuna, the monster who pillaged your town, looks down at your family with disdain.
"You beg for your son, but not for your daughter?" He asks. "How pathetic."
Your mother stiffens, a look of horror etched upon her face. Your father's expression morphs into anger.
"Our son is the pride of our family! He's the one who will succeed my craft!" He yells. "My daughter, in comparison, is just a useless girl."
That's not true, you think to yourself. Your brother shows absolutely zero talent for blacksmithing, despite being personally taught by your father. You had to teach the craft to yourself, in a futile attempt to win his favor.
"You're an embarrassment," your father said, throwing your first sword to the ground with a clang.
"We feed you, clothe you, and yet all you do is throw yourself into useless things! Don't you know a woman's only purpose is to marry into a good family?"
"Ungrateful wench! Are you trying to show up your brother?"
Your father's lips curl up into a wicked smile. "But since your lordship has shown such concern over her," he says slowly, as if testing the waters. "Perhaps she can be of some use to our family after all."
Ryomen Sukuna raises an eyebrow.
"Please spare our family," your father says. "In return, please take our daughter, and do with her what you will." Your jaw drops. You aren't sure what you're feeling right now. Shock? Disbelief? Fear? Anger?
Perhaps you are feeling all four.
"I've listened to your useless ramblings long enough." In a flash, your father's head is separated from his body. Your mother screams, and your brother begins to wail. Blood splashes to your face, but you don't react. The world is spinning, the cries of your family are ringing in your ears, but all you can focus on is one thing.
"In return, please take our daughter, and do with her what you will."
The screams of your mother are cut abruptly short. Next is your brother. Only you remain.
Should you beg for your life? What would be the point? You'll never be a blacksmith, anyways. You'll never earn the recognition of your peers. Not as a woman, anyways.
"You," he says, commanding. You look up numbly. "Give me one good reason I shouldn't kill you alongside your kin." You blink, looking down at your lap.
"I'm afraid there is none, my lord," you say to him, voice and face devoid of any emotion. "Like my father said, I am just a useless girl."
"Oh?" The monster sounds amused. "Your arms are quite muscular," he says. "Are you a blacksmith?"
"I'm not very good," you say.
"Uraume," he calls.
"Yes, master." A white haired person steps forth from the shadows, head bowed.
"Bring me the sword."
"Yes, master." Just as quickly as they appeared, the servant vanishes, returning with a sword black as obsidian. Your sword. Your magnum opus. "Here it is," they say, presenting it to Sukuna.
"Did you make this?" You nod. You don't know how he got his hands on it, but that's definitely your sword. The same sword your father confiscated and threw away, stating you'd be lucky if those calloused hands would ever house a ring.
"You aren't aware of it, but you possess potent cursed energy, it's been etched onto this sword. Meanwhile, that 'father' of yours had no talent for sorcery at all." You don't follow, but knowing it would be unwise to question him, you keep your head bowed. "Listen up," he says, voice commanding authority. "You have a talent. Continue to make swords for me, and your life will be spared. Refuse and you will perish alongside these worthless rats you call your family."
You...have a talent? That can't be right. No, rather, it wouldn't matter even if it was. Because you're a...
"But I'm a-" Sukuna scoffs.
"I've fought countless sorcerers in my life," he says. "Both men and women. Most are equally untalented, but there are some that have been strong."
"Raise your head," he commands. Your eyes meet his. There's an expression in them you can't quite make out. "Strength does not have a gender. Nor does talent. Follow me and you will not be looked down upon again."
This man...he believes in you. He sees your worth.
"If I follow you, will I be a blacksmith?" You ask tentatively.
"What an idiotic question," he says. "You already are."
t*゚+*.✧
After working under Sukuna for some time, you've come to realise some things about him. Namely, that he does not pillage for no reason. There's always a motive, an underlying goal to achieve.
"My lord," you say, having just finished polishing a new spear. Sukuna is watching you from the edge of your workshop. He has a habit of coming to you whenever he gets bored. Though you don't make very good company when you're working, he doesn't seem to mind. "May I ask you a question?"
"Hmph. Ask."
"Why...did you choose my village?"
"Do I need a reason?" His tone is challenging, imposing. He speaks as though you need to watch your words, lest he cut out your tongue for impudence. You know him better than that, though. It's not a threat. Not if it's you. You look at him expectantly and he scoffs. "That sword..."
"Hm?"
"When Uraume presented it to me, I thought finding the craftsman behind its creation and forcing them to work for me would be an amusing way to pass the time. But the man who claimed to have made it didn't possess even a lick of cursed energy."
"There was a group of bandits that picked a fight with Uraume. They lacked talent, but one of them was wielding a sword that almost made up for it."
"Was that...?" Sukuna nods.
So your father had stolen your work to pass off as his own. If you had found this out even just a few weeks ago, you would have been devastated. Now, you feel nothing.
"I thought you'd be more upset," he says, eyeing you. You shrug.
"It's in the past. My father has already paid for his crimes in death. There's no need to let it bother me anymore," you say, face blank. The expression you're wearing is eerily similar to the one you wore that day. Sukuna shifts uncomfortably.
"Perhaps he did not suffer enough." Sukuna smiles. "If it would please you, I could have him ripped from his grave and brought back to the world of the living so that you may do away with him yourself."
"Like you'd go through all that effort just for someone like me," you say, a hint of teasing in your voice. You think you hear Sukuna say something else, but his voice is so low you can't make it out.
"There's little I wouldn't be willing to do, not if it's for you."

Rengoku baby daddy headcanons
Rengoku spends the whole of the train ride rambling to Tanjirou, Nezuko, and Zanitsu about how excited he is to behaving a baby with you. So much so that even they have to admit they were excited.
Like would your baby look like you or him? Perhaps both?
When you both learn you are with child, he makes a promise to always keep the two of you safe.
It's only partway through the Mugen Train mission that he realises that he cannot do that if he dies.
His non-functioning eye waters at the idea of you and his child living all by yourselves, your child never having met their father.
He had never pondered how much he mattered to someone. Or how much the creature growing inside of you mattered to him.
The demon stares at him in confusion when he stops swinging his sword. Akaza nearly believes that heartbroken your husband.
"Tanjirou. If I don't come back- please tell my wife" he coughs "and my family I love them"
Tanjirou is not about to let Rengoku act like he's going to die.
"Rengoku, listen to me... You aren't going to die. You're going to return home, hug your wife and hold your baby, and you're going to live a long life- watching your family grow up. You'll teach your children a legacy. Kyojurou, you're going to live and be so loved!"
His speech awakens something inside of him. He knows he must fight for you- he can't lay and wait for death like a coward. He feels reinvigorated as he continues to fight off the demon's attacks.
Akaza almost feels bad for having to kill the slayer. Almost.
It's nearly day when Rengoku finally beheads the demon, a great deal of pride overcoming himself before he faints face-first into the ground.
Rengoku is barely back to form when you go into labour, but he forces his way from his bed- against the butterfly girls' begs- and hobbles into your hospital room, clinging to your hand as you cry.
He whispers sweet words of encouragement into your hand, kissing your knuckles to distract you and never flinching when you scratch him in pain.
When the baby is born, handed to you in a soft blanket, the first thing you see is bright yellow hair. He's in love with how cute their tiny face is, even as it cries.
"Congratulations! It's a perfectly healthy beautiful baby girl!" Shinobu grins.
His daughter. Nearly the spitting image of him. 'just cuter', he thinks.
When you're both finally allowed to go home, he fights tooth and nail to do all the housework, despite his injuries. You argue with him but he's sure that he'd rather have you comfy and with baby Rengoku than tired and unwell.
Over the months he gets closer to being fullform, though he's aware he'll never see from his eye, and will always have a limp.
That doesn't mean he won't do everything for your child though <3
He'll give her piggyback rides, tuck her into bed, and build forts with her.
He doesn't admit it but having Senjurou around is really helpful when he's in an episode of pain.
Even his father tries to be more involved after the birth, trying to reconcile with his children and make an effort in his grandchild's life.
He retires from the corp after his battle with upper four, with a considerable pension, so he uses all his time to the fullest with his family
But if you think he'll be content with just one baby, you've got another thing coming.
"Aw, but you'd look so pretty pregnant again! And surely Ruka would love a new sibling"

if I was the guide I would try to help link more then just help him with puzzles and where to go next. I would try helping with enemies and bosses by distracting them, help with stealth missions by making noise to distract guards, scavenge for things like rupees, bombs, arrows, food ect, for them, watch over link while he slept, help teach them how to play instruments cuz i doubt they would automatically know how to play, help keep them warm at night, let link vent and not bottle up his emotions,ya know cuz the poor boy deserves some help. Maybe guide reader help teach the links how to fight, cuz time, wind, and maybe legend, hyrule and how to sword fight cuz there's no way time and wind would know how to sword fight when their journeys first began, they were just kids, legend and four might have cuz legends uncle knew how to use a sword and fours grandfather is a blacksmith and in the four swords manga his father is captain of the hyrule knights, hyrule I don't honestly know if the fairies taught him how to fight with weapons, twilight was taught by rusl, sky, warriors and calamity were training/were already knights, wild would definitely have to be re taught how to fight again, and sage already remembered/ relearned how. I don't know how old first, korodai and courage were when they first learned,How would the chain react to that if they remembered? Sorry it's so long.šŸ˜…
Sorry this one’s been sitting so long! This is going to be a bit of a ramble, but it’ll make sense! Took some liberties!!ļæ¼
š“Šš“‹¼š“Šš“‹¼š“Š
Player/Guide!reader is the epitome of comfort to the boys. Much of their lives they have been taught through experience to trust no one —not even their own goddess— lest they get a dagger in the back. And at first they are cautious. A person with no ties to hyrule who is so eerily familiar with the heroes and utterly bewitching? They’re half convinced you are a trick, meant to play on their insecurities and trauma.
Time gathers his recollections first. He remembers your calm voice correcting his form and swings, your encouragement to keep improving— not with the intent of killing, but with only his safety at heart. He’d buried his blade within the thick trunk of a tree and heard your old whispers through his ears, and it all made sense. That even as his bones were cracked and reformed and the threads of time unraveled, you were consistent. Even when he wasn’t the same him that you loved before, you were back again. Protecting him, even if he didn’t need it. You were arms for him to return to and someone to hold and love.
Legend remembered almost on accident. He’d bolted up from the solid earth, rings snagging at his hair as his fingers tugged at the root. His chest rose and fell rapidly, like that of a frightened animal. You’d cautiously found your way in front of him, talking him down from the world within. Your hands massaged his palms easing the tension and removing his hair from his grip. You’d done this many times before, he realised. You were all he had for the months after leaving Koholint, your unconditional love despite his less than stellar attitude was something he felt guilty to forget. But perhaps now he’d be content to make up for it by letting you keep him there, curled up against your chest… even if he’d get some teasing.
Twilight didn’t actually remember on his own. In fact, he’s so stubborn and protective over the ā€˜pack’ that he likely wouldn’t have if it weren’t for Epona. For a large part, he trusted her judgment. Most animals did have a keener sense for natural disasters, but she always seemed to have a good sense of character. Sure, it was odd enough she ate right out of your hand with a happy nicker, but she just really liked apples. She’s a horse, she’s easily bribed. But even then, he’s not sure how much bribing it would take for her to lay down and let you braid flowers through her freshly brushed mane. It was trust. From all the other times you did it absentmindedly —occasionally even to him— it seems her trust in character was still sharp.
Warriors was actually slightly embarrassed by how he came to remember. Dripping wet from the rain and favourite cloak littered with mud and holes, he was rather cranky. He got showered and changed —thank the three they were at an inn— and decided to leave the stained and worn clothes as a tomorrow problem. That was until his prized blanket scarf found its way into to your mits. He tried to snatch it back, earning some odd looks and the shutter of the sheikah slate. You were frustratingly difficult to catch. It seemed that hadn’t changed. When he was ultimately successful, however, he realised that you’d actually been making an incredibly successful job at washing and repairing it as you’d done thousands of times before. He remembers you my firelight, cobalt swathed over your lap as your needle glided through the fabric. He remembered trying to imitate your stitches. He remembered how he never quite got it right.
He let you finish working.
Four was having a crisis. Do not let his indifference fool you, this man is a wreck. Best believe that beyond his surprisingly stubborn stoicism, the colors are shaking each other by the shoulders and screaming. Red recognised you immediately. His heart was quite literally moulded after your soft words and carefully love, he couldn’t forget you so long as he had a soul. Green being the mediator between them all and heard his quiet utters. The most honest a man could be that his adoration was infectious. It was you who taught him who he was. Blue took a while. So strong-willed in his stance, the he forgot you were the one to teach him to take a stand. He forgot it was you who willed him to fight for what he loved. Vio fell last, what would you expect of the mind. He hardly noticed it. The way his thoughts timed to you, the way he sought your presence and craved your voice. It was you who taught them how to be separate and yet loved them wholly. And such loyalty could only be payed back.
Wind remembered you in fragments. He remembers his parent by oath, who shielded him from the vast world he was so desperate to see. He didn’t understand it at first. But loosing you, especially when his memory wasn’t fully gone like the others, was rough. He mourned and grieved, even if he didn’t realise it. He missed being cared for. Without the looming question of what favor needed done or when it would go away. He missed you. It took a while to heal. For him to feel ok trusting in people again, even eventually curling up next to Wars when he’d try to sleep. He felt guilty, as if he were betraying you when you dug up dead feelings. But it’s hard to be a rebellious rascal when your partner in crime is finally returned to you especially after you were concerned you killed them. It takes him a while to process your back, but he’s back at your side, tugging you along by the hand as he explains his next devious prank.
Hyrule remembers you through his magic. The way your heart stutters as he heals you is familiar, a beat he’s fallen asleep to many times before and the life within it is one he can’t help but feel… connected to. He keeps a close eye out, his ears wiggling at the familiar music of your laugh and his skin unfamiliar without your own to cradle it. You share a spirit with them, a bit of your soul and theirs and a small both of theirs in you. And yet his mind can’t call out to why. It keeps him awake, taunting at him. But he knows his soul yearns for the part with yours. He knows the rush of your blood and song of your soul. He knows he loves you. Even if he doesn’t get why.
Wild takes so long to remember you for exactly the reasons you’d expect. His mind hides away the most crucial parts of itself in plain sight, never to be noticed or recognized until the memories are far too warped and rotten to actually remember anything. Anything of note, that is. But for what it’s worth, he never really perceived you as a threat. You were homey and comfortable, a trait so unfamiliar to his life of travel, he didn’t care if it left a sword in his stomach. Besides, not any yiga could take on an act that long. He took off the cooked eggs and set them onto a separate plate as you sat quietly, Wind strewn over your torso. You hummed softly the same work song he’d sung for years. One for which he didn’t know the origin, not until hearing you for what felt like the first time again. He couldn’t help but hum along.
Sky was cursed to forget you.
I must preface because he is a lover boy first and hero second. He wouldn’t care who Demise was, nor his business, so long as you were safe and loved. He loved you more than each and every star in the sky. And he’d already began to start planning your home. He knew he loved you. He knew he was made to love you. And that was exactly why he was made to forget you. That loyalty was scary to the gods. That one would devote themselves to another for little more than love in return— Hylia could not risk her heroes to stray. But try as she might she couldn’t surpress you. Not when you were already married, souls intertwined through every timeline. Your role varied, a healer, a helping hand, a comfort, a home, a parent, a lover, a souse. But you were always someone to Link. No matter what the gods declared. He remembered you only after all the others had, but he’s alright with that.

Linked maze updated which means I'm back! :D
Hello Linked Maze fans! :D
Linked Maze returns with scent pt10, which means I am back to ramble about the small details in the comic because I enjoy it!
If you dont know what Linked Maze is, It's a links meet comic. About the links in a maze.... Self-explanatory really, but trust me it's amazing and I love it. It's great! But also for more mature audiences, so do take care and heed the creator's warnings before going in!
Importantly - Linked Maze and all the art belongs to @linked-maze and its artist @frulleboi, this chapter also had a guest artist, so the second page's art is done by @marenwithanm. And thanks again for the permission to do this! I really enjoy making them!
With that out of the way, My timer is set, grab some snacks and a drink of your choice! And lets get started! :D
We begin with the small bean
Tumblr media
He looks so happy, okay, I love him
Aww four, just wanted his sword back. Also here to straight up appreciate the detail with the little ticktacktoe on the scabbard of his sword i love him dearly.
Tumblr media
Wolfie looks both Done and worried at the same time.
Also, them discovering Sky's sailcloth! I'm so excited about this okay I want these two groups to find each other so bad.
Also, I was interested cause I dont think we've seen the sailcloth in the story yet. So it's fascinating that it's here. I blame Angel, she has shenanigans that I think work for this. Like imagine when we see Sky and he's like the fuck why do you have my sailcloth I've not seen it since I got here, type thing.
Tumblr media
Wind taking charge as he should be.
Tumblr media
There's a bunch to unpack here, so just give me a moment.
Tumblr media
That's not Sky's sword.
That's Twilight's sword.
The wrappings on the blade and the markings we see on it later match Twilight's sword. (From the character reference sheets.)
Do you have any idea how excited I was when I saw this? Then saw Wolfie's face like
Tumblr media
Why the fuck is that there?
I think this tells us two things.
Twilight/wolfie is now able to be armed. So he's got the capability to fight without the wolf form now. So he might transform soon!
Angel/ djƦvel are using the hero items to bring the groups together for some reason.
But now im considering the implications of having these specific items here. Like, Thats an item from a character from some of the major groups that we know off right now.
Twilight's sword(Twilight, wind) / Sky's sailcloth (Sky,wild,Time) / Four's sword (four, warrior)
Was the idea for them to find it, or for just one of the groups to find it so that they could find the others.
Something to think about.
Moving on!
Tumblr media
Me too four... me too
Tumblr media
Yes it does. He's sat about five feet from you
Tumblr media
Look at his guilty face, he know's but he can't say and he's sad about it.
Tumblr media
Warrior looks worried, you think he's thinking of war stuff right now?
A sword planted into the ground with an important item beside it... a sword who they dont know its owner. Its owner who to them could be dead?
Twilight is the only one who know's his sword after all.
Tumblr media
Good call Mr. Captain Warrior sir!
Tumblr media
Again with the sad wolfie ears, they give me life okay I love him.
Tumblr media
Good on Wind for being the one to lead the charge, we need a good vibe like Wind to get us through the shenanigans that I'm sure are going to ensue.
Again Twilight is looking towards his sword. When you think he would be looking towards Wind at this point. But his eyes appear to be looking towards the markings on the sword.
Tumblr media
I love his shocked face. He's like
Tumblr media
I can't track myself...
Totally not me going to be using this reaction when someone asks me to do something.
Wolfie is the real MVP of this chapter let me tell you right now.
I love this lot they are wonderful
Tumblr media
Yes, you look to your sword and think about what you've done.
Tumblr media
Sniff sniff out the cinnamon roll wolfie, find him!
Oh man, this update was fun, I got so unbelievably excited about the sword like it's great to basically have a confirmation about something that's been rotating around in my brain since we saw it before.
Thanks again for listening to me ramble my way through another comic update! :D
And thank you again @linked-maze for letting me do this, i will be continuing them (as long as you let me:) ) cause this was so much fun!
Thats me done for this update tho, so I'll be headed out!
Have a great night! :D

Warning(s): Blood, Angst, Cursing, Comfort
Word count: 4.1k
Synopsis: One more week until Piccolo had to pay Korin a visit to retrieve the senzu bean he had been promised. All was well... until it wasn't.
ā”ā”€ā”‰ā”ˆā˜…ā”ˆā”‰ā”€ā”ā”ā”€ā”‰ā”ˆā˜…ā”ˆā”‰ā”€ā”ā”ā”€ā”‰ā”ˆā˜…ā”ˆā”‰ā”€ā”ā”ā”€ā”‰ā”ˆā˜…ā”ˆā”‰ā”€ā”
This couldn’t be happening.
It couldn’t.
Everything had been fine. It should’ve been fine.
It had been an ordinary evening. The two of you sat comfortably in your home, surrounded by the familiar clatter of steel and the faint scent of oil and sharpening stones. Piccolo sat on the living room floor, legs crossed, the flickering lamplight casting long shadows as he methodically ran a whetstone along the edge of one of your training swords, while you sat across from him, polishing another with practiced ease.
You were talking again.
Rambling, really—bubbling with excitement about returning to your dojo, as if the injuries that had nearly taken your life just four months ago were nothing more than a distant memory.
ā€œI can’t wait to see their faces,ā€ you had said with a bright smile, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear. ā€œI bet they’ve all slacked off without me there to whip them into shape.ā€
He had grunted in response, but you knew him well enough to recognize the soft amusement behind it.
Piccolo didn’t speak much—but he listened. Always listened. Your voice had become something familiar, something comforting to him, something that he came to love about you.
He liked the way you filled the silence. He liked the way your eyes sparkled when you talked about the people you cared for.
It had been so normal. So safe.
Until it wasn’t.
You had stood up, mid-sentence, pausing only to retrieve something from the kitchen. A cloth? A bottle of disinfectant? He couldn’t remember.Ā
Because in the next moment—
You coughed.
It was sharp, sudden. Violent.
Piccolo looked up immediately, brows furrowing.
You staggered, clutching your stomach. You coughed again—harder. And then, to his horror, you hurled.
Dark red splattered the wooden floor beneath you.
Blood.
You stared at your hands, trembling as you saw it coating your fingers, dripping from your lips. Then your wide, horrified eyes found his.
ā€œP… Piccoloā€¦ā€ you barely managed to whisper before your knees buckled.
Piccolo moved before he could think.
His arms caught you before your body could hit the floor, cradling your unconscious form against him as panic exploded through his chest.
ā€œHey—hey! (Y/n), look at me!ā€ Piccolo shook you gently, his voice louder than it had ever been. Desperate. Urgent.
But your head lolled back.
Your eyes didn’t open.
A cold, suffocating fear gripped him—
No. No, no, no—
This couldn’t be happening.
It couldn’t.
Not to you.
Not to the one person who made him feel—alive.
His eyes focused back to the present—soaring through the night air, the wind howling in his ears as he tore through the sky with everything he had.
You were limp in his arms, a streak of blood trailing from the corner of your mouth. His cape whipped violently behind him, but all Piccolo could feel was the weight of your body, and the thunderous pounding of his own heart.
His only thought—his only destination—was the Lookout.
Dende. Popo. Someone. Anyone.
They had to fix this.
They had to save you.
Far below, Korin was enjoying the cool breeze atop his tower, his paws wrapped around his staff as he gazed at the stars. It was a rare, tranquil moment.
Until a sonic gust of wind nearly knocked him over.
ā€œWh-WHOA!ā€ the old cat yelped, tumbling back onto his tail as something—someone—blurred past him in a streak of green and white.
Blinking in stunned confusion, Korin sat up, his fur on end.
ā€œWas that… Piccolo? What the heck is he doing here?ā€
He squinted at the shrinking silhouette disappearing into the clouds above, heart skipping a beat.
For a moment, he could’ve sworn—
He saw Piccolo clutching someone in his arms.
Someone limp.
And that person’s energy was barely hanging on.
Korin’s ears flattened.
ā€œā€¦Oh my.ā€
Piccolo burst through the clouds, his cape snapping behind him like a banner in the wind. The dark sky parted, revealing the sacred platform above—the Lookout, floating in tranquil silence against the night.
But there was no peace in Piccolo's heart.
He pushed harder, a sonic hum trailing behind him, and in seconds he descended into the center of the courtyard with a thundering force. The moment his moccasins’ hit the tile, he didn’t waste a second.
ā€œDende! Mister Popo!ā€ he shouted, his voice uncharacteristically strained—raw with panic. ā€œI need your help—NOW!ā€
The tremble in his tone was impossible to miss. Piccolo never pleaded—never raised his voice out of anything but irritation or battle fury. But this? This was something else.
From the entrance to the temple, footsteps echoed, fast and urgent. Dende appeared first, his green face pale with concern, and beside him, Mister Popo’s usually composed expression was etched with worry.
ā€œPiccolo? What are youā€”ā€ Dende's words fell flat the moment his eyes landed on the unconscious figure in Piccolo’s arms.
His breath caught.
Your aura… it was flickering—thin and fading like a candle about to die out.
Without hesitation, Dende rushed forward. Piccolo dropped to his knees, cradling you close, allowing the young Guardian to kneel in front of him and begin his assessment. Dende’s hands hovered, glowing faintly as he checked your vital energy.
And then he looked up. His eyes met Piccolo’s—and what he saw there startled him more than anything else.
Piccolo looked broken.
There was anguish carved into the lines of his face. A deep, desperate pain—his usual mask of stoicism shattered.
ā€œWhat happened to her, Piccolo?ā€ Dende asked softly, but urgently.
Piccolo swallowed hard, his breath catching. He couldn’t look away from your face—not for long. His hands trembled slightly, holding you tighter, as if you’d vanish if he let go.
ā€œI… I don’t know,ā€ he choked out. ā€œShe started coughing, and thenā€¦ā€ He closed his eyes tight, the image of the blood on the wooden floors, of your bloodied hand flashing behind his lids. ā€œShe passed out. Just like that.ā€
When his eyes opened again, they shimmered—dark with emotion, his onyx gaze barely holding back the tears swelling at the edges. But one escaped, tracing a silent path down his cheek.
ā€œDende,ā€ he said, voice dropping low—almost a whisper, but heavy like the weight of a mountain. ā€œYou have to save her.ā€
He didn’t care how it looked. He didn’t care that he was showing weakness.
You were the only one who made the silence bearable. The only one who softened the edges of his guarded world. He had just started to understand what it meant to love—to truly care, not with duty, but with his soul.
He couldn’t lose that.
He couldn’t lose you.
ā€œPlease,ā€ he whispered, his voice cracking under the sheer weight of it. ā€œSave her. I’m begging you.ā€
And as that lone tear fell, dark and silent against the pale tiles of the Lookout, Piccolo didn’t care who saw.Ā Ā
He had never felt so powerless.Ā Ā
And he had never wanted something more in his entire life.Ā Ā
You had to live.
Dende nodded, his young face hardening with resolve. ā€œPlease lay her down.ā€
Piccolo obeyed without hesitation. He lowered you carefully onto the cold tiles, treating you like you were made of glass. Every movement was gentle, every breath he took shallow—as though he were afraid that even the sound of it might disturb you further.
Dende knelt beside you, his fingers spreading apart as a soft golden light began to pulse from his hands. He hovered them just above your abdomen, and soon that healing energy enveloped you in a shimmering cocoon of warmth. The blood staining your lips vanished first, absorbed into the light like it had never been there.Ā Ā
But then… your face twisted.
Your brows furrowed. A small, broken whimper escaped your throat.
Piccolo’s head snapped toward you instantly, every cell in his body screaming to do something. Anything. His hands twitched, aching to hold you, to protect you from the invisible pain. But he wasn’t a healer—he didn’t know how to stop this. All he could do was watch as you suffered.
ā€œDendeā€¦ā€ he growled, his voice tight with helplessness.
ā€œSomething’s not right,ā€ Dende muttered, his brow beading with sweat. His left hand slowly moved, hovering over your chest, his expression shifting into one of intense focus. ā€œThere’s something… blocking her heart. It’s small—but it’s foreign. A solid object.ā€
Piccolo blinked in disbelief. ā€œWhat?! What do you mean there’s something inside her heart?!ā€
ā€œI can see it—a fragment, lodged deep. It’s lead, I think… a piece of shrapnel or maybe even a bullet. Whatever it is, it’s interfering with her heart's rhythm,ā€ Dende explained, his voice trembling slightly, though he kept his hands steady. ā€œI can get it out… but I have to be careful. One wrong move, andā€¦ā€
He didn’t need to finish the sentence.
Piccolo’s breath caught in his throat.
Slowly, meticulously, Dende guided his healing energy deeper. He visualized the obstruction, wrapping it in a net of light, drawing it out inch by inch. It was a painstaking process, his hands glowing brighter as he pulled the object upward—until finally, a small piece of blackened lead floated into his open palm.
Piccolo stared at it, stunned by how something so small had nearly taken you away.
Dende didn’t stop. He kept his hands over you, sealing tissue, mending nerves, and purging every trace of impurity that had followed. When the golden glow began to fade, silence fell across the courtyard like a thick fog.
And then—
You stirred.
Your eyes slowly fluttered open, the color returning to your face as confusion painted your expression. A fog clung to your thoughts at first, but then the memories hit you like a crashing wave. The coughing. The blood. The pain. Your eyes widened in terror as you shot upright, your hand flying to your chest, expecting the same unbearable pressure to greet you.
But…
There was nothing.
Just the steady rise and fall of your breath.
You looked down at your hand in disbelief—searching for blood, for pain, for something to prove that what had happened was real. But all you saw was your skin, trembling slightly.
ā€œWha… what the hell…?ā€ you murmured.
ā€œYou’re okay now.ā€
You turned toward the voice—young, calm, and kind. Beside you stood a small Namekian, no older than a teenager by human standards, a gentle smile stretching across his features.
ā€œThank goodness,ā€ Dende said with a breath of relief. ā€œYou had us all worried for a moment there.ā€
Your gaze lingered on him, blinking. ā€œYou’re… you’re a Namekian, right?ā€
Dende beamed and nodded. ā€œI am! I’m surprised you know that—most humans don’t, unless they’ve met one before. But I’m guessing Piccolo told you all about us, huh?ā€
Piccolo…
The moment his name echoed in your head, your heart seized again—but this time with a different kind of panic.
ā€œWhere is he—?ā€ you asked, eyes darting around, voice cracking.
Before your anxiety could spiral further, you felt a warm, grounding pressure at your back—a large hand, familiar in every way, resting between your shoulder blades.
You turned quickly, your breath hitching as your gaze met his. Piccolo. He was on his knees beside you, his face shadowed but unmistakably there—right by your side, like he never left.
You didn’t even think.
You threw yourself into him, wrapping your arms tightly around his neck, your body trembling as you collapsed into his embrace. And without hesitation, he caught you—his arms closing around you with a force that made it feel like nothing in the world could ever pull you away again.
A choked sob escaped you as the dam finally broke, your tears soaking into the thick fabric of his weighted shoulder pad. Your fingers gripped his cloak desperately.
ā€œI was so scaredā€¦ā€ you whispered through your tears, voice cracking. ā€œI didn’t want to die—I didn’t want to leave you.ā€
Piccolo buried his face into the crook of your neck, eyes shut tight as the weight of your words shattered whatever composure he had left. His hold on you tightened.
He had never known fear like that. Never known such vulnerability until now—until you. And he never wanted to feel it again.
ā€œI’ve got you,ā€ he murmured, voice barely above a breath. ā€œI’ve got you.ā€
And in that moment, the rest of the world faded away.
You were alive.
And he wasn’t going to let you go.
The first one to pull away was you—just slightly, just enough to see him. Piccolo didn’t stop you, though a subtle reluctance lingered in his touch. Your eyes met his, and despite the deep relief etched into the usually stoic planes of his face, you could still see it—the anguish that hadn't yet left him. It clung to the edges of his expression like a shadow that refused to fade.Ā Ā
Your hands reached up on instinct, fingertips brushing his jaw before gently cupping his face. The moment your palms rested against his cheeks, his eyes fluttered half-shut and he leaned into your touch, almost like he couldn’t help it. His skin was warm beneath your hands—rough in texture, but grounding. His eyes stayed locked on yours, so intense, so open, it made the breath catch in your throat.Ā
You were drowning in him.
Until someone cleared their throat.
The sound was polite but purposeful, and you flinched—just slightly—turning your head in surprise. Still in the safety of Piccolo’s arms, you shifted to glance at the two figures standing nearby: the young Namekian who had healed you, and a short man with dark skin, round eyes, and a distinct turban—his presence calm, yet commanding.
ā€œI apologize for interrupting the moment,ā€ the man spoke gently, folding his hands in front of him, ā€œbut we would like to ask a few questions, if that’s alright with you.ā€
You blinked, lips parting as your mind scrambled for a proper response. You turned back to Piccolo instead, wordlessly asking for guidance. Your hands were still cupping his face, and he hadn’t moved an inch. He met your gaze with that same steady intensity, then gave you a slow, reassuring nod.
That was all you needed.
Trusting him came easier than breathing.
You lowered your hands, placing them over his chest instead—your fingers splayed just above his heart—and he mourned the loss of your touch in silence, his eyes lingering on you for a heartbeat longer before turning to the others.
You faced them fully now, still leaning back against Piccolo’s chest like it was your anchor. ā€œSure,ā€ you said softly, offering a small, tired smile. ā€œAsk away.ā€
The younger Namekian, still on his knees, bowed forward slightly and gestured to himself. ā€œAllow me to introduce myself first. My name is Dende, and this is Mister Popo,ā€ he said, motioning to a short, plump humanoid beside him.
You nodded. ā€œIt’s nice to meet you both. I’m (Y/n).ā€Ā
Dende returned your smile, though concern remained in his eyes. ā€œYou’re very lucky Piccolo brought you to me when he did. Any later, and… wellā€”ā€
ā€œYou would’ve died,ā€ Mister Popo finished calmly. ā€œYou were on the very brink. Fortunately, Dende’s healing abilities are exceptional. He was able to remove the obstruction that was slowly killing you.ā€
Your brows drew together. ā€œObstruction?ā€
Dende raised his hand and carefully uncurled his fingers, revealing something small—very small—resting in the center of his palm.
You leaned closer, squinting. ā€œWait… that? That little thing almost killed me?ā€
The object was no larger than a pebble—dark, metallic, and unassuming. You looked up at Dende again, and he nodded solemnly.
You let out a short breath, frowning. ā€œGod… I really can’t catch a break, can I? First I die for three minutes and now this?ā€
There was a beat of silence. Dende and Mister Popo shared a startled glance.
Then Dende blinked. ā€œI’m sorry—did you just say you were dead for three minutes?ā€
Oh.
Shit.
A single sweatdrop slid down the side of your face as your body tensed awkwardly. You gave a stiff little laugh, eyes darting to the side. ā€œUhmā€¦ā€
Before you could blurt out some kind of backpedal, you felt it—Piccolo’s arms tightening around you protectively. He drew you in closer against his chest, as if shielding you from the memory itself.
You glanced down at his hand resting against your side before continuing, more carefully this time. ā€œFour months ago… I was shot. I threw myself to protect this little girl—my student—who was about to get shot by this random guy at a festival. I… I took the hit.ā€
You swallowed hard, gaze distant for a moment as you recalled the blur of panic, pain, and the darkness that had crept into your vision.
ā€œI bled out—badly. So much that my heart stopped. For three minutes, I was gone,ā€ you murmured. ā€œThe paramedics revived me… got me into surgery just in time.ā€
A small silence fell over the courtyard. Dende looked stunned. Mister Popo closed his eyes, his expression unreadable.
Piccolo didn’t say a word—but his grip around you spoke volumes. His hand was splayed over your ribs now, directly over where your heart beat steadily beneath the skin.
Dende was the one to finally cut through the heavy silence, his voice gentle but full of respect. ā€œYou did a courageous act in protecting that girl. I’m sure it wasn’t easy.ā€
You let out a dry chuckle, shaking your head with a tired, crooked smile. ā€œHell no. I was terrified. But I just… I couldn’t stand by and do nothing, you know?ā€ Your gaze drifted downward, fingers brushing against the fabric of your sweater. ā€œEver since then, I haven’t felt the same. I can’t fight like I used to. I get winded just from standing too long. Standing. Can you believe that?ā€ You gave a bitter laugh, more to yourself. ā€œGuess it’s the price I pay for doing the right thing.ā€
Your voice trailed off, the smile on your lips now touched with quiet resignation.
But Dende’s expression suddenly brightened.
ā€œActually,ā€ he said, sounding pleased, ā€œyou should be fully healed now.ā€
You blinked and looked up. ā€œHuh?ā€
Dende shifted forward a little, his hands folded neatly in front of him. ā€œI didn’t just heal your injuries. My ability lets me restore the body to its original condition, before trauma or illness. So you won’t have to worry about that weakness or fatigue anymore. Your strength—it’s back.ā€
You stared at him, stunned. ā€œWait… seriously?ā€
He nodded enthusiastically. ā€œYou’re as good as new.ā€
Your lips parted, but no words came. You looked down at your hands in disbelief, turning them over, curling your fingers into loose fists. Now that he mentioned it… your limbs didn’t feel heavy anymore. Your breath was steady. Your muscles felt light and warm—rejuvenated.
Like your body had finally caught up to your spirit.
ā€œā€¦I feel strong,ā€ you whispered. ā€œLike I could punch a wall right now.ā€
Piccolo gave you a look.
ā€œā€¦I won’t,ā€ you added quickly with a grin. ā€œBut still.ā€
You were still reeling from that revelation when Dende tilted his head slightly, clearly curious. ā€œIf you don’t mind me askingā€¦ā€ His eyes flicked from you to Piccolo, a subtle but knowing light in them. ā€œYou two seem awfully close. Are you… friends?ā€
There was a beat.
Then, like a switch flipped, both you and Piccolo flushed.
You smiled shyly, eyes darting off to the side as your hand came to rest lightly over Piccolo’s forearm. His arm, still loosely wrapped around your waist, tensed slightly—then relaxed, like he didn’t quite know what to do with himself.
Piccolo, on the other hand, averted his gaze so hard that it looked like he might burn a hole in the sky. His ears darkened with a hue of violet, and even his cheeks tinted with that unmistakable Namekian flush.
You answered, your voice soft and warm. ā€œActually… Piccolo and I are together. I’m his girlfriend.ā€
Thud.
Both Dende and Mister Popo collapsed dramatically, gasping in unison like it was the most scandalous thing they’d heard all week. They sprang upright a second later, gaping.
ā€œYou’re dating?!ā€ Dende blurted.
ā€œI did not see that coming,ā€ Mister Popo said, hand to his chin, looking genuinely thrown.
You couldn’t help but burst into a breathless laugh, the sound bubbling up before you could stop it. The expression on their faces was too good. Meanwhile, Piccolo was still looking away—not out of shame, but because he could already see the avalanche of consequences from letting this little secret out into the open.
Damn it.
It was happening. The acknowledgement. The intermingling.
They knew now.
And with them knowing, there was a chance everyone else could find out. Goku would definitely tease. Gohan would try to act mature about it but would give him that smug ā€œI-knew-itā€ smile. Krillin would not shut up about it. And Roshi—
No.
No way in hell he was letting that old perv anywhere near you.
Piccolo’s jaw tightened subtly. As much as he hated the idea of keeping his life in compartments—one for you and one for the rest of the world—he would do it. If it meant protecting you from the chaos, the scrutiny, the unfiltered idiocy that came with his circle of allies?
He’d keep you in your own sacred place. Away from their nonsense.
Even if that meant hiding the best thing in his life.
Still, he found himself glancing down at you again—and even just looking at you, so alive, so close, so his… it softened the knot of tension in his chest.
ā€œUm… is it that surprising that we’re together?ā€ you asked, brows furrowed in genuine confusion.
Sure, Piccolo wasn’t exactly Mr. Social Butterfly. He had his moments—serious, intense, often too quiet for comfort. You still remember when he first started attending your martial arts classes, standing silently in the back with his arms crossed and that unreadable expression on his face. Students were terrified at first. He didn’t say a word unless absolutely necessary, and even then, it was always something sharp, observant, and usually enough to silence the entire room.
Still, he’d offered good advice—great advice, actually—and over time, the students came to appreciate his insight. Even if he still looked like he’d rather be anywhere else than in a room full of people.
But now?
Both Dende and Mister Popo nodded solemnly in unison, as if you’d just asked whether the sky was blue.
Dende glanced at Piccolo again, his expression caught somewhere between awe and amusement. ā€œWell, Piccolo wasn’t always fond of people. At all. Not until Gohan. But even then, this… this is a pleasant surprise.ā€
Piccolo exhaled through his nose, his expression neutral but not annoyed. He finally looked over to meet their eyes, the faint violet still lingering on his cheeks. ā€œAlright, that’s enough. I’d appreciate it if you didn’t tell anyone else about my relationship with (Y/n).ā€
You tilted your head up from where it rested against his chest, eyes narrowing slightly. ā€œWait—what? Why would you keep me a secret?ā€ There was no anger in your tone, but you were clearly hurt. ā€œWhat’s so wrong about meeting your friends?ā€
Piccolo looked down at you, his frown deepening just a bit, but it wasn’t out of irritation. More like… concern. ā€œTrust me. It’s safer if you don’t meet them under any circumstances.ā€
You raised a brow, unimpressed. ā€œPiccoloā€¦ā€
He stared right back, visibly unmoved. ā€œLook, all I can say is… they can be overwhelming.ā€
You squinted. ā€œDefine ā€˜overwhelming.ā€™ā€
ā€œGoku will invite himself to dinner and never leave. Krillin will ask too many questions. Tien will be polite but deeply suspicious. Yamcha will flirt with you—openly. And Master Roshi willā€¦ā€ He visibly grimaced. ā€œ...well. You don’t want to know.ā€
You blinked. ā€œ...Wow.ā€
He gave a slow, affirmative nod. ā€œExactly.ā€
Mister Popo looked like he wanted to say something but wisely kept it to himself. Dende just smiled awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck.
You let out a slow sigh, your hand finding its way over Piccolo’s. ā€œOkay, fair enough. But just so you know… I can handle a little overwhelming.ā€
Piccolo’s gaze softened. He didn’t say it aloud, but you could tell he appreciated that. Still, he wasn’t convinced the others wouldn’t cause chaos the second they knew about you.
He'd just have to keep his two worlds separate for now.
For your sake.
And maybe—just maybe—his own sanity.

the pain of past love lost
or me rambling how the boys lost their versions of you and how they feel about the current version of you
under cut for length
Sky, Time and Wars had lost their darling in similar ways, either by sickness or a curse.
the next chapter is sort of cathartic for Warriors, although he can't bring himself to be near the reader for long he sort of lingers around her.
he blames himself for how his lover died, believing that he's the cause for her death as she was cured by Cia.
Time had lost his love when he was around sixteen. she had always been sickly and knew she wouldn't live into adult hood so it wasn't much of a surprise when she passed that winter.
out of all the Links Time is the most adjusted and most welcoming to reader (second to wind). Having the time to properly mourn and move on as he married to Melon.
Sky carries the most guilt, he doomed his lover and the lovers of his successors.( thanks to bitch boy Demise)
Demise curse progressed rather quickly when it came to sky's darling, he watched her wither away day by day, and on her request he married her days before she passed away.
Sky is friendly towards the reader, he like Warriors tends to linger, but he's a bit more helpful and talkative.
Twilight he dosn't know how his lover died or if she's dead to begin with, when the village kids went missing, she went missing and when they were found she wasn't with them.
At first he thought it was the work of the Zant but once he was defeated his lover still didn't return then he blamed Ganondorf. After the battle andĀ MidnaĀ returned to the Twilight Realm, his lover still wasn't found. he never stopped looking. he still puts up missing persons posters and follows any lead.
Twilight doesn't know how to feel about reader. he wans't given the proper closer when it came to his lover. He way more vigilant and tends to act as a chaperone towards the reader.
Hyrule had to see his love die right in front of him. It happened before his second adventure. he doesn't remember much, but he was ambushed and the attack came on so suddenly. the next thing he knew he was being held down and her throat being slit.
he at first can't bring himself to be near the reader but do to plot reasons has to teach her magic. He do not like seeing the reader hurt will freak out and become smothering.
Legend lost his love after all of his adventures. It was an accident, he didn't mean to do it. the two of them were fighting monsters together, just clearing out a camp that was too close to the village. She saw an opening Ā she intercepted legend's attack, which was meant to hit a moblin impaling herself and dying by legend's sword.
legend is hostile towards the reader. being near her is painful. he believes that he's a danger to her, yet he's the first one jumping to her aid.
wild sadly doesn't remember his lover, not fully. she comes to him in dreams or in the quiet moments. what he knows about her comes from his Zelda and others, he doesn't even know where she's buried.
Wild is one of the more easier links to get along with. he sees the reader as their own person then his dead lovers look alike. he's great at pulling the reader out of her shell.
Four lost his love at the start of his second adventure, it was more of an accident. her death didn't involve sickness or curses or being attacked by enemies or monsters no she died via drowning.
it was a strange death his Hyrule didn't even have oceans. she drowned in a lack a fishing trip gone wrong and some how she ended up overboard. and he didn't even know about your death untill he came home asking for her.
four is reserved, he doesn't have a reason to interact with the reader until he does. through hes one of the more friendlier links to interact with once he warms up to the reader
Wind hasn't lost his version of the reader. in his Hyrule their childhood friends as thick as thieves, attached at the hip. he dosn't know about the trend about the dead lovers the others actively hids it from him.
You treat wind as a younger brother and sees her as an older sister. they are affectionate with each other, they bicker. he tells her about his home and she tells him about hers. he does notice how others treat the reader and he is confused.

Dawn part 4 analysis, here we go! At it again with my ramblings.
Starting off with THE GLORIOUS RETURN OF THE MAILMAN! The moment I saw the flag I was like :O HE’S BACK!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I also got the blue’s clues mail song stuck in my head)
Tumblr media
Hey look, it’s Warriors’ money! And the inkeeper who’s happily admiring the ridiculous amount of rupees Warriors now does not own!
Rip Warriors’ money. It will be dearly missed.
Also no vacancy?? I mean, it’s possible there’s other people staying there, or it’s just a small inn, but... it kinda looks like Warriors literally bought every available room there was. Mad lad.
Tumblr media
I (like everybody else lol) took a crack at figuring out who’s signature was who’s, based on their respective game’s Hylian texts/scripts, order of when they got there, and the OG tags on the comic. So here’s my best guesses—
1. Time is first, which makes sense based on him being the one to take Twilight to the inn
2. Hyrule appears to be next— his games don’t have a written script, but the hylian here is close to Legend’s, so I’m assuming it’s his, based on the fact that he was part of the next group to get to the inn.
3. Four is who I’m least sure about I’ll admit, but seeing as how he came with Hyrule, (and he’s the only Link left I couldn’t identify at all), I’m assuming it’s his.
4. Warriors we know for sure, since the tags say this signature is his. He gets a shout out for being the only Link who can actually write in the lines.
5. Wind seems to be next, as his hylian is very close to what’s here (his signature partially obscures Warriors’ XD)
6. Legend is who I’m going with for this one, but I’ll admit it could be Wild’s since their script is pretty darn close. But once again, based on when they all got to the inn, Legend would make the most sense to be here.
7. Sky is definitely here. His hylian is very unique compared to the others (I think it’s my favorite)
8. Wild is probably next, but same case as Legend, they could be swapped. But once again, probably not, since Wild was the last to get inside.
9. Twilight bringing up the rear! His hylian is unmistakable, and it makes sense that he’d mark his name last. I don’t think he could handle it until he woke up that morning, though I do wonder which arm he wrote it with...
(Rip Mr. Mailman in trying to figure all this out)
Moving on!
Tumblr media
It’s gotta be close to mid-morning by now based on the light, but Sky obviously does not handle waking up at dawn well. It’ll be interesting to see if he stays sleepy during the rest of this arc, or if he'll wake up a bit.
(Side note, Sky looks so soft and fluffy here, I want to hug him)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sky is so relatable in this update, he’s got some serious ā€œI have no idea what’s going onā€ vibes. That first one he's got such a deer in the headlights look XD
The mailman is just like ā€œyou! I’ve been looking for you! Great to see you!ā€ and Sky’s just ā€œI have never met this man in my lifeā€ (probably forgot he actually did see him once (because he’s sleepy))
Tumblr media
Four letters, all different languages and dialects... I’m guessing at least one Zelda based on the seal on that blue letter (it seems fancier to me), but I don’t know about the rest. I would guess Malon for one, and maybe another Zelda? Warriors or Wild or Four’s Zelda maybe? Maybe Twilight got a letter from someone in Ordon, or the Resistance!
Only thing I do know is that there’s probably not one for Sky, since he wasn’t immediately like ā€œletter for me! :Dā€
Tumblr media
Four trying to do something nice and fix Wild’s sword and this guy just laughs at him, rude 😤 At least he didn’t make a short joke, which was honestly what I was expecting. I mean I get knowing that your equipment won’t be enough for the job, but sheesh.
(Also the blacksmith’s goggles look a bit like Gondo’s in skyward sword’s, plus the ones the rescue knights wear, thought that was interesting).
Tumblr media
(Cool pose mode: engaged)
I love this panel!! They all decided to follow Four and help him out just like they did last time, fix the sword and get Wild a good, reliable weapon.
I’ve also never noticed how similar these guy’s hair looks before, especially Warriors and Hyrule’s— if Rulie’s hair was a little shorter and blonde, it would be pretty near identical. Very interesting...
(Plus Wind has the funniest expression, he's so cute)
Tumblr media
We interrupt this rambly analysis to bring you a brief moment of me yelling about Warriors' smile ABHDGFSFKHSBBG LOOK AT HIM that stupid cocky grin and the way he's rolling up his sleeve I'm *swoon*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Four absolutely losing it over Warriors’ jab about teamwork is SO funny, Captain you have no idea how good your joke was. (also Four, bud, you good? Little hysterical there pal)
Also he looks so happy!!! Compare that to any of the faces he was making the night before, he's doing so much better. I’m so glad he’s happy and smiling now, even if it was just at a dumb joke :)
Tumblr media
I don’t even have anything to say about this panel. Just look at it. Glorious.
And one last thing...
Tumblr media
MULTILINGUAL WARRIORS HOLY CROW that's such a cool trait to give him, I am in love with it now that's awesome.
An amazing update as always, it was fantastic all around <3

Oooh, the Golden Dragon idea for the Twins AU is good, it'd be neat if Jaune's increased closeness to Team RWBY made him talk all the more about them to Alyx and Lewis, even with his grief and regret. The hopeful Crimson Reaper, the beautiful Royal Frost, the steadfast Watchful Shadow... And the tragedy of the selfless Copper Maiden.
I doubt they would make it into the story past a passing mention when the Rusted Knight is introduced. The Golden Dragon is mentioned on several occasions because Lewis can tell whoever it is means something MORE to the Rusted Knight (or Rusty, as the siblings called him). Rusty is clearly waiting for all four of them, but the Golden Dragon is just… MORE somehow. He talks about her differently
It’s only after Lewis leaves and Alyx doesn’t follow that the boy realizes that the way Rusty would talk about the Golden Dragon is how he feels now that his sister is gone
But Jaune definitely talks to the kids more about RWBY than he does in canon, because he is closer to them. RWBYJNRO are definitely more of an explicit family in the Twins Au than in canon, and they’re already really close in canon
Rusty gushes about the gleaming hope and shining blade of the Crimson Rose. He rambles about the beauty and kindness and snark of the Royal Frost. He raves about the quiet bravery and loud loyalty of the Watchful Shadow
The Copper Maiden is only mentioned in passing, usually when Rusty is in the middle of a sentence and doesn’t realize what he’s saying. But every time he cuts himself off with a shuttered look and a hand on the hilt of his sword. She was pure and innocent and the friendliest person he’s ever known. Lewis doesn’t miss how Rusty always uses past-tense when talking about the Copper Maiden
But the Golden Dragon is different
He talks about her flaws more, how she’s quick to anger (like him) and irritatingly stubborn (like him). But she’s also loyal to a fault (like him) and fiercely protective (like him). Out of all the characters Rusty talks about, the Golden Dragon feels the most like a person, and the least like another fairy tale character
Lewis still isn’t sure if Rusty’s ā€œfriendsā€ are actual people or just moral goals, or even if Rusty is an actual person. Alyx thinks the Rose is just a flower, the Royal is a princess to rescue, the Shadow is a ghost to redeem, and the Dragon is a monster to slay. And Lewis agrees with her for the most part
Except for the Golden Dragon. She feels more real than even Rusty does
I won’t feel complete until I find her
When Lewis returns to Remnant and feels the hole in his heart of his missing sister, he wonders how Rusty stayed sane without the Golden Dragon to complete him

FSR rambles PT 4
Over explaining the decisions in my own comic once again. UwU
Tumblr media
Smth fun about these pages is ZELDA. My lady.
Something I'm not sure was how well this portrayed that this was shortly after they put the sword back (like maybe a year at most?)
I kind of like to think for FSR at least, they were all around 13-15 during the events of the manga (This isn't my opinion tbh, though in the bonus pages they buy child tickets for the theme park so they aren't canonically adults.)
Link's old enough to drink in FSR so he's at least 21.
(I've never really liked the idea they're YOUNG kids during FS it just lends itself better to FSR specifically. I really write them however old I want for whatever scenario I'm writing because Link's as fluid as a Vocaloid when it comes to making fan works and cannon is my bitch. Writing them as adults during the events of the manga usually lends itself to MORE writing opportunities but not for FSR. I don't really give a shit what other people decide to do when making fan works either.)
You'd also notice the 7 years it takes FS Link to pull the sword is a reference to the seven years Link misses during OOT.
Anyways onto the page itself: Zelda's a sweet girl who cares deeply about her childhood friend. Link means a lot to her and she makes time for him. He waits for her too. Zelink shippers I got you lol.
Something I always found WEIRD was how Link doesn't talk in the pages after he reformed. That's so odd to me. The fan "theory" It's basically cannon in BOTW/TOTK at least Link's selectively mute. That Link's mute is also something I took inspiration for FSR Link.
So Link doesn't respond to Zelda verbally but she still makes the effort to talk to him.
Shadow Link is very disapointed he can't get hugged by the princess. Because as he stated earlier in the comic he loves her. Zelda addressed him too so she tries to include him.
Tumblr media
This page shows off just how gradual the curse was: So funny enough at the START of the comic it was actually going to be explained how Link utterly deteriorated but I decided to add that later. (Wanted to get to funny shenanigans with the boys so I put it off)
It started with him just hearing whispers, then full voices then the what I call "Headspace" fully appeared.
Blue mentions liking Zelda's hugs Haha "Where's my hug???"
Vio just says Zelda's name, Vio's relationship with Zelda is something I'd love to expand upon later down the line.
Green's more focused on food oof.
Red's just happy to see Zelda.
Tumblr media
Green was right about being hungry, so Zelda invites him over for DINNER-
Shadow Link's still just vibing.
Zelda lifting Link up in this panel just shows she's there for him.
Tumblr media
Link is just dealing with the fact he can hear them by himself. Also dad is still alive.
Tumblr media
Lol he's actually making his dad proud which was something he didn't do often before the OG book.
Zelda hanging out with Link and his father kind of shows them as a family.
Shadow Laughing in the bg but he's away from the rest.
Tumblr media
So the captain died in a fight, and Link blames himself for it because he can't think straight when there's 4 people constantly talking.
Daddy's demise was really the start of the snowballing downhill for him.
Tumblr media
Lol. So Vio's daddy issues are apparent for the SECOND time in the comic. He was uncomfortable even bringing up Link's dad before and this is partially the reason why:
Vio's the only one not crying or overtly emotional about their dad dying.
But something to consider is if he's truly talking to Link or himself in that panel. Because the man is still SHOOK. We have the liberty of SEEING Vio here, but Link doesn't.
So he takes this statement very poorly because:
Well, Vio's seeming "no shits given" attitude is unsettling enough coming from an outside source but that IS apart of Link.
A part of him, seemingly doesn't care his own father kicked the bucket and that's scary to him.
Tumblr media
I think anybody would have lost it at this point.
Too bad Zelda saw Link screaming his lungs out at his father's grave lmao. Poor man.
Tumblr media
Bro can't do anything but plead for Zelda to help him at this point. She's really the only person he feels he can turn too anyway.
Our girl comes in clutch with them hugs.
Tumblr media
This was the conformation Link was actually not speaking in the comic Felt like I had to outright state it cause I wasn't sure if people would notice it otherwise.
Something I REALLY wish was a thing in Zelda manga:
Zelda and Link BOTH lose their parents. Usually their mothers.
And we never get any sort of bonding over that. And I find that a complete waste of potential.
I'd like to dive further into that with FSR or some other Zelda work I do because: HOLY SHIT THEY COULD BOND OVER THEIR LOST PARENTS????
Also Zelda's unfortunate phrasing here with "You can talk to me" she means just, that he can confide in her in general lol.
Tumblr media
He's still struggling to actually speak. Poor guy.
Tumblr media
While keeping him from doing knight duties kept him PHYSICALLY safe it was just another thing he lost to the curse Vaati laid on him.
Tumblr media
So the obvious: Zelda had to watch the person she cares about most completely fall apart before her eyes and she couldn't do shit.
They weren't even aware this WAS A CURSE from Vaati mind you. They were completely in the dark trying to solve this.
Something horrific about this situation you might have also considered:
Not only did Zelda have to watch Link deteriorate but so did Shadow Link.
Shadow Link couldn't even offer much comfort. Zelda could offer physical comfort and attempt emotional comfort but Shadow was completely fucked.
And with the new context of "Link was mostly mute" the fact he wasn't actively TALKING to Shadow Link makes a lot more sense.
Tumblr media
Still didn't make that fact any less painful in the moment.
Shadow literally could not participate, was isolated and lonely and had to watch someone else slowly get isolated and lonely and couldn't even help.
Tumblr media
Link and Shadow Link literally felt the same way and could not help each other even though they were right next to each other all that time.
Tumblr media
Also with the new context of what Link was going through, Shadow's persistence to be there for Vio starts to make a whole lot more sense: He can actually DO something now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vio's just stating the obvious at this point and his broken record nature really pissed Link off.
I'm sure you noticed what he wore color wise matched his emotions lol.
Vio technically is 100% right: They think Gannon is in the sword. It would literally be INSANE to pull it knowing that.
But Link's kinda at the point of not giving a shit.
Zelda would get hurt no matter what his "solution" to the problem ended up being.
Shadow Link trying to cheer Link up by reminding him he's there is so sad. Mghhhh
Tumblr media
And for the first time in the flashback we actually have Link fully acknowledge Shadow Link's presence.
Vio was outright in denial the man was still alive and didn't want to acknowledge his existence so Link fully embracing Shadow Link here was a big moment between the two of them.
Tumblr media
Shadow Link started to figure out what the man was planning but couldn't do squat about it. (He also couldn't communicate with the 4 or HEAR THEM.)
Link shows up in the head space! :D
His words imply he wasn't SURE he could properly communicate with Green like this alone...Which is no surprise considering Vio thinks how odd it is they were able to do that in the first place.
I kinda scrambled to think of what to have him look like hah. Ended up with him wearing white. Since white is the lack of color, white reflects all wavelengths of light so it literally kinda REJECTS color. (Apposed to Black which absorbs light, which funny enough his pants are black...)
And it symbolizes rebirth, peace stuff like that.
It can also symbolize death but we're ignoring that one lmao.
His nails are all the colors + Shadow Link too.
Tumblr media
Lmfao when you gaslight yourself.
Okay in all seriousness the Link lays down just how DIRE the situation is since the other 3 don't seem to be quite aware.
And the "Promise" Green made to Link is what had Green so shook at the start of the comic for.
Tumblr media
And the weight of the line "Can I trust you?" really sinks in as we'll see.
Tumblr media
Link's kinda spooky haha. You can tell he wasn't sure Green was going to help him but that's quickly overtaken by how overjoyed he is Green is for sure on board.
One of my favorite panels from this batch is how happy he is. He's so relived he can finally just rest.
Tumblr media
Green can't though. The crushing weight of keeping everything "Okay" is a heavy burden to bare and Dark Link spits those words right back into Green's face, and just holds him.
Green doesn't seem to hate the hug as much as Vio did hah.
Green doesn't even seem to acknowledge his presence while Vio not only NOTICED but was actively terrified of him to the point of trying to grab his sword.
He also mocked Vio more throwing Vio's own words back in his face, but just repeats what Link said to Green.
How. Odd.
And that's all for this batch. Hope ya come back to read my rumbly thoughts about my own comic.

I know you're focusing on the Corn AU at the moment (which I adore) but I'm always still rotating your Rainbow Ranch AU in my mind ā¤ļø the sillies. I love them dearly
Aaaaa sorry it took me a while to respond to this!! Time blindness snuck up on me again--but I'm glad you're still (or were) thinking about Rainbow Ranch!! ^^
I'm still working on the fic for Rainbow Ranch, even if Corn AU does have most of my attention at the moment! I have the outline complete, and now I just need to get the chapter specific details ironed out. Still not sure when it might get finished, but I'm hoping to at least get the fic started up this year and not let it dissolve into the ether.
I wish I could split my attention more evenly between my AU's, but for now, here's a Red doodle since I've just been drawing him a bunch. ^^

We all agree Vio reads a lot, right? Heā€˜d probably need at least reading glasses fairly soon if his luck and that glorious Heroā€˜s Spirit let him down (shh, we ignore how that fits into him and archery for the sake of the bit). But (according to personal experience) before one gets dearly needed glasses, they typically run around doing… expressions. Just imagine that ā€žcalm and collectedā€œ (to quote Red: ā€žcoolā€œ) guy going
Tumblr media
Blue: … This is getting embarassing.
Red: Donā€˜t insult his efforts, Blue :( You can do it, Vio!!!
Vio: At least I possess the reading proficiency required to have a chance at deciphering this sign.
Blue: WE SHARED A BODY THROUGHOUT SCHOOL!
Vio: That we did. And weā€˜ve established that not all memories are shared, didnā€˜t we?
Green: Alright, thatā€˜s enough, guys. The sign reads ā€žDo Not Keep Going, Visitors Unwelcomeā€œ, by the way.
Red: Oh, we should continue! Whoeverā€˜s at the end of this path must be lonely from not getting any visitors :D
Vio: I agree, we should send Red ahead. That lonely person will be overwhelmed by his demeanor enough to not harm him and we can look around in the meantime.
Green: Maybe youā€˜ll go instead, your charming disposition today is sure to brighten up their day, as well.

This is the best cut content I’ve ever heard of.
Tumblr media
I’m really sad this minigame was cut. Having a kind of rhythm game (I guess?) would have been really neat, and been… y’know, more than just three games, even though Checkerboard Chase is pretty fun.
I don’t care that this was cut from the final game, I’m considering it canon. Imagining these four in a little band trying to play is hysterical, especially because of the instruments they all have.
I’m gonna ramble about that now so if you don’t wanna read all that, here’s the cutoff for just my initial thoughts. If you wanna read more, here’s my insanity over this one image.
The instruments they have is just great. Dedede on drums is very fitting, and did end up returning later. Dedede’s Drum Dash exists after all, so obviously he loves his drums. Waddle Dee just having a tambourine and not something like a bass guitar is so funny. They look like a rock band or something because of the other three, but he just brought tambourines and they ran with it. Kirby, being the main character, of course has that leading instrument, the electric guitar. And Adeleine can play the keyboard so she isn’t just skilled in the traditional art, like drawing and painting, because apparently she can play piano too.
How is Kirby playing the guitar. He doesn’t have fingers. He doesn’t even really have arms, he just has nubs. What kind of guitar is that? How is he doing that?
Waddle Dee looks so happy to be there, like he’s glad that his friends aren’t mad that he forgot the bass and now they have to make do with tambourines.
Dedede looks mad for some reason? Like ā€œI hate these drums I can’t jump on them what’s the pointā€.
That is a very large keyboard because Adeleine is standing on her tiptoes to reach it. And she’s one of the tallest characters in the whole series. She’s also more to the side where Kirby, Waddle Dee, and Dedede are all closer together. Are keyboard players usually off to the side? Does Adeleine just need space when she’s preforming? Does she feel like an outcast because she’s human?
The logo on Dedede’s drums looks like ā€œK4ā€ and I mean… the Kirby 4? Because there’s four of them? Or maybe 4 because 64?
Adeleine looks more like her design in Dream Land 3 in this. Her hair looks like it’s more in her face, but in Crystal Shards (and in all her later appearances) her entire forehead is bare, except a small strand of hair in her updated Star Allies design.
Kirby is so happy. He’s just smiling. Granted, he’s almost always smiling in Crystal Shards, since he smiles the whole way through all the levels when you’re just walking. But he looks especially happy here.
I wonder what songs they’d be playing? Maybe just some simple music, or music from the game or other Kirby games? A semi-rock remix of the Pop Star theme would be pretty awesome. Kirby just does an insane riff in the middle of it while his friends are still playing the theme normally. He would do that, and then look at them, and they’d all be stunned and he’d be smiling like that’s just how the song goes. Or they’d do Dedede’s normal theme and he’d be going all in on those drums the whole time while everyone else tries to play louder to balance it out.
Since I feel like this is still canon despite being cut, sometimes they’ll all get out their instruments (Adeleine just painting a keyboard) and play stuff for everyone. All the other Dream Friends are around in the castle making requests, and maybe Bandee remembers to grab a bass this time.
They play some songs suggested by everyone else, and then randomly throw in something to catch them off guard and either freak them out or delight them. Marx getting too annoying? Just start playing Kirby’s Triumphant Return! Meta Knight looking unimpressed? Time to play Sword of the Surviving Guardian! Want to remind Taranza that his girlfriend is dead? Moonstruck Blossom time!
Yeah I really like this cut minigame.
